"Second Offense. In the event of a second positive result for drugs prohibited by this Policy other than marijuana, the Talent shall be fined an amount equal to 60 days' pay deducted from your downside guarantee on a weekly basis. The Company may, at its discretion, schedule the Talent to work selected televised events without pay, pay-per-views with pay and non-televised live events with a $200 stipend per event during the 60-day suspension period. Alternatively, in cases where the Talent appears to be in need of a drug rehabilitation program, the Talent shall not be assigned to work until the individual has successfully completed the drug rehabilitation program. However, regardless of the length of the program, the Talent's fine shall be limited to 60 days' pay."
- The first portion indicates that technically under their own policy, that WWE could have had him work WrestleMania as well as the TV and House Shows shows leading into the big event. The catch looks to be the second half of the amendment, which states, "Alternatively, in cases where the Talent appears to be in need of a drug rehabilitation program, the Talent shall not be assigned to work until the individual has successfully completed the drug rehabilitation program." When Jeff Hardy first left WWE (and ended up going to TNA for a time) it was due to drug issues. At the time the company asked that he enter a drug rehabilitation program, and Hardy refused.

Jeff Hardy a drug addict? NOOOOO get out..really?
Posted By: Macbeth (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 07:04 AM
Jeff is being made an example of. With the congressional hearings coming up Vince can now say "we suspended one of our top talents just 20 days away from the biggest show of the year."
Posted By: Tom (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 07:16 AM
If Jeff Hardy is currently an addict, and is about to enter a rehab facility to help himself, than anyone who mocks him should be ashamed of thenmselves. IS it a lost opportunity for him, absolutely. But drug addiction is a serious thing. No one here would dare to have mocked eddy guerrero if he had fellen off the wagon again. I think if anything Jeff has proven to us in this last year, that hes worth caring about. Lets just hope that looking forward it doesnt happen again, and that the rehab works.
Good luck Jeff

I feel sorry for him now, having read this. He needs help.

triple h is behind all this
Posted By: toot (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 08:22 AM
I hope that is the WWE showing more commitment to the policy than Hardy needing help. I'm disapointed that he went back to using and fell into the trap believing he had cleared his demons but with the push he got was going to get and still not performing I hope it sends a message to the others to clean up. Jeff hardy just pissed away his last title opportunity I believe.
Posted By: Matt (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 08:48 AM
What Hardy needs to do is get on his site and apologize to all the fans
Posted By: Guest2727 (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 09:01 AM
Well hopefully he got a good deal...I'd hate for him to have not only gotten suspended BUT ALSO have gotten charged too much for weed. That really pisses me off when some street rat overcharges me...Hardy is a retard
Posted By: Mike (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 09:33 AM
WWE is doing the right thing by slapping jeff down, and hard!! I can't see how this won't send a clear message to the rest of the locker room to stay clean.
Posted By: Methoes (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 09:35 AM
here's hoping this means he is ONLY not on TV because he is rehab the entire time. NOT sitting at home "drowning his sorrows"
Posted By: the16th6toothson (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 09:56 AM
Sadly, there goes his big title run that everyone was hoping to see. Since now, like Kennedy, he will be placed back onto the midcard as punishment.
Posted By: MLL (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 10:10 AM
What's with these young guys blowing their opportunities at making big money for something as silly as getting high or beefed up? Kennedy, RVD, Hardy.....you're all idiots.
Posted By: HBK (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 10:13 AM
ah. so, the Wellness Policy includes common sense solutions and alternatives.
common sense...no wonder congress doesn't think it is 'worth a flip.'

Maybe just maybe he went into rehab because he could use it before he screws up his entire life even beyond wrestling.
Posted By: TheOne (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 10:53 AM
....or is it the 1st Amendment? I dunno, the only US constitutional politics I get is from catchphrases off TV.
Posted By: hmm (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 10:54 AM
Not an addict...
but he does have problems with them...
Posted By: BKeeper (Registered) on March 12, 2008 at 11:12 AM
They need to film a segment where Hardy walks into rehab with his bags. As he walks through the place, he passes Scott Hall and Jake Roberts who are shaking their head in pity. At the end of the hallway he runs into Ron Simmons. There is a brief moment of silence, and an awkward look, and then...DAMN!
Posted By: Future (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 11:29 AM
Hopefully they removed him from storylines because they will force him to get the rehab he needs.
Posted By: Dave (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 11:36 AM
Good riddance, Jeffykins! Now, Xpac can be in the MITB as a suprise entry! XPAC RULES!
Posted By: Gregpac (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 11:51 AM
Fair play to the E for making a proper stance and giving a pay day to another talent.
Posted By: Brick (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 11:52 AM
He's probably addicted to drugs, which is no laughing matter I guess.
Regardless, Jeff Hardy is RVD 2.0 - an idiot who has killed his opportunity at the big time for a long time probably.
Posted By: Banz (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 11:55 AM
I wonder if he wears those sleeves on his arms to hide needle marks?
Posted By: Tmack (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 12:12 PM
Well, I like that it says "other than marijuana"-- which means WWE *gets it*-- whatever you think about weed, you must admit it is NOT on par with abusing painkillers or steroids...

Jeff Hardy is a pathetic druggie who was going to fail another Wellness Test anyway. He has refused to go to rehab before and it cost him his job a couple of years ago. If anyone is surprised about him being suspended over this matter, then they must be stupid as hell.
Then again, it was stupid of WWE to re-hire Jeff again and now look what happens? He gets pushed to the moon and screws up right before Wrestlemania. Of course it has to be at a time where he is in a critical match that he was most likely to win too. This is what the WWE deserves for pushing druggies like Jeff Hardy who don't deserve anything instead of wrestlers like Punk who are reliable, hard working, and can actually wrestle and are not just crappy spot monkeys.
Posted By: Ladynaye (Registered) on March 12, 2008 at 01:00 PM
Jeff Hardy needs to go get cleaned up and get his life together. He is very young and the WWE hs shown in th past they will the put The Belt on guys with a past(Eddie Guerrero). If the Doctors and WWE think he needs to go to Rehab, then to keep his job and his chance of ever becoming Champis to go.
Posted By: LAA (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 01:08 PM
Hate to be the wet blanket, but wake the F up!
Who cares about his push?
Who cares about a mid-card punishment?
The dude needs to deal with his issues and THAT is the ONLY thing that matters.
Best of luck, Jeff. I wish you well.

LOLOCAUST!
Do you what rules more than anything? The fact I told everyone I knew this was going to happen. And they'd all be saying "no, no he's changed". Well. GUESS WHO'S FUCKING RIGHT!
What a Week, Barry Windham and no Jeff Hardy for TWO MONTHS!
Posted By: ButchReedMark (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 01:53 PM
It's a shame that's all, just a damn shame. Jeff buddy I can only wish you luck in getting back on track. My gf and I will pray for your return but won't expect you to be pushed ever again. Sad.

Didn't I hear that after some date around November 2007 we would be told what the exact offenses were from then on? I'm curious exactly what he took, and where he got it. I hope this isn't the tip of another iceberg, which is possible if we're talking painkillers.
Posted By: Jason (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 03:20 PM
It's a real shame. Jeff is a talented wrestler and could have been WWE champ in '08. Now, I'm not so sure.
Posted By: Sam (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 03:21 PM
but WWE's Gary Davis !would not say what drugs were involved
Really Gary, really !!
Than what was it than ! Man WWE must think the fans are really that limited and idiotic as their programming !
Posted By: WTF (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 03:22 PM
"somewhere HHH is laughing about all this."
And you know this how,
Mr. Mastronardo? From all accounts (outside the IWC, apparently), Triple H is primarily concerned with what is best for business. Something like this is most assuredly not the best thing for business. I highly doubt Triple H is laughing whatsoever. As he has expressed deep concern over Scott Hall and Sean Waltman's various dependency issues, it is more likely that he is concerned for Jeff.
Of course, I don't know him personally. So I can't say anything for certain which is why I use conditional statements. But at least I'm not making baseless statements that can actually be harmful to a performer.
Then again, the IWC seems to just eat up the dirt sheet b.s.

God i love seeing Jeff Hardy fuck up time after time...
Give a chance to a REAL wrestler with REAL potential
Posted By: Hahahaha (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 07:04 PM
Jeff Hardy has not only screwed himself, but us the fans. I was really looking forward to Hardy topping his MITB ladder match from last year. He is the one wrestler I was looking forward to the most in that match. I agree that he needs help, but I think the WWE should have taken him off of all the shows except for that one. He should still work it, but not get paid, since he was already advertised.
I am sick of the WWE screwing the fans because of wrestlers' mistakes. Remember when Mr Kennedy was supposed to get a big push and be Vince's son? Yeah, instead of suspending Kennedy and then picking up the storyline when he got back, they threw that little Bastard Hornswaggle into the mix and completely destroyed one of the biggest storylines in years. I really hate that little bastard!!
Posted By: Adam (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 07:41 PM
Good riddance to this fool. He has no place in wrestling when there is much more deserving talent out there. Kids watch WWE and he's on drugs, what a great example.
He had a lot going for him and he fucked it up for himself, nobody else did. He could be WWE champ now, no question. So much for the next Shawn Michaels.
Posted By: Jeff Druggie (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 09:19 PM
Right on, Gregpac! Bring XPac back! He would never mess his push up with a drug habit. LOL
Hell, Xpac makes Jeff look like Mother Theresa.
Addiction is a beast. It NEVER goes away. EVER. You just try to keep the monsters at bay. One day at a time and all that.
God bless him and best of luck JH.

I hate that jeff just shot himself in the foot. honestly i was so afraid something bad would happen to him in the ring because of his problem. BUT if you look at not just jeff but the entire group he hangs out with back home in cameron. can see why he has a problem. take a look at matts myspace pictures they are all either drunk or high even jeffs girlfriend beth. how can he get clean and stay clean if the people he loves are doing the samething.jeffery nero hardy my heart and my prayers are with you.
Posted By: Dani (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 10:18 PM
btw jeff has all ready been in rehab twice all ready.again to get clean and stay clean he needs to be around a different element.
Posted By: Dani (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Anyone consider that the push was a setup from the beginning? No one seems surprised Jeff failed again. With the timing of the test so close to WM it shows that WWE will punish performers from "major" stroylines at anytime if they violate Wellness. It makes the Wellness Policy look more credible. How truly random is the testing or timing of the testing? Having said that, I hope Jeff gets whatever helps he needs this time and comes back healthy and strong.
Posted By: Chuck (Guest) on March 12, 2008 at 11:25 PM
He COULD but he SHOULD NOT and The WWE made the RIGHT DECISION HERE
Here is what The WWE Chairman himself thinks about it :
"Credit: ProWrestling.NET
- You would be forgiven for thinking Vince McMahon may be upset about Jeff Hardy's inability (once again) to follow the company's drug policy, but that apparently is not the case.
One source has claimed that McMahon has been waiting for an incident like this to happen and that suspension of one of the company's biggest stars puts WWE in a strong position if Congress or anyone else questions the company's drug testing policy.
Hardy is now destined to mid-card status for life, another source claims, with Vince McMahon not even willing to contemplate future creative plans for the former Intercontinental Champion at this time. The same source also claims that Hardy has cost himself a Spring run with the WWE Title."

This is the best wrestling news I have heard in years. Get that talentless, out of shape, drugged-up mutant POS out of the WWE for good McMahon. I might bash Cena all the time for his shit wrestling ability but at least he's a decent human being.

OMG! I can not believe he is suspended over weed. WEED! I know I know all the non smokers will say its a drug and it harms your body blah blah blue. True be told tobacco kills more daily than weed ever will! We ask these proformers to put there lives on the line EVERYTIME they touch the screen and if they smoke a lil bud or pop a pill everybody goes crazy! You have got to be a dick to believe that some one can mutilate there bodies on a constant basis and be sober everytime it goes down. I am so sisck of this athlete drug abuse bs I could scream! I was pissed with the whole Roger Clemens and Bonds thing. I mean how do you ask humans to perform greater than human activities and get greater than human results but don't want them to have greater than human stregnth? That's another story but the underline truth remainsd the same with Jeff Hardy. Who gives a f that he smokes weed? Vince shouldn't care either! I mean you are suspending one person for smoking weed meanwhile Maria is having an open debate on whether or not she should pose for Playboy? What is the purpose for suspending him? Is he ruining the good clean nature of sport? Is he damaging the lives of his co-workers? NO! It's just not that serious! The people go over and beyond to please "us" the viewers the fans and we punish them for living their lives the way they see fit. This is some bull!
Posted By: Guest (Guest) on March 13, 2008 at 01:32 PM
hey mina...
i was making a joke about hhh. that all.
IMO hhh ruined wrestling, although he has been bearable the last few years. i dont hate him as much. sometimes i actually like him. but in all honestly, we as wrestling fans would probably be better off if he would just blow out another quad. wrestling started going down hill when hhh came into power.
Posted By: joe mastronardo (Guest) on March 13, 2008 at 01:57 PM
i still shake my head when i think of how they referred to hhh as
"the very best in the business"
when kurt angle was in the same company. what an outright joke that was.
Posted By: joe mastronardo (Guest) on March 13, 2008 at 02:07 PM
Guest-- chill, he wasn't suspended for weed (weed carries the $1000 penalty, not a suspension)
