WWE House Show Results – Waco, Texas: 3.14.08

Thanks to 411 reader Cory Schibler for sending these results along!

– Just wanted to give you a quick house show report from last night’s show at Heart of Texas Coliseum in Waco.

– Arena was pretty full and all sections were open. Much bigger crowd than Raw the last time they were in Waco.

– Cody Rhodes and Bob Holly retained the tag titles against Cade and Murdoch. Holly pinned Cade with the Alabama Slam.

– DH Smith defeated Charlie Haas after a splash from the top. Haas changed into a luchadore halfway through, then Smith knocked the mask off and wore it for the remainder of the match.

– Carlito defeated Brian Spanky Kendrick after the sickest back cracker I’ve ever seen. Spanky took a flip bump off of it and it looked like it killed him. Definitely match of the night from a work rate standpoint.

– Val Venus and Super Crazy defeated William Regal and Paul Burchill w/ Cady Lee. Venus pinned Burchill after reversing a Regal assisted roll up. Regal turned around to celebrate to the crowd and Burchill got pinned.

– Beth Phoenix retained the Women’s title against Mickie James. Not sure on the finish, but post match Phoenix continued a beat down until Candice Michelle ran out for the save.

– JBL is out and cuts a fantastic heel promo about illegals and David Koresh, but then goes to far and makes a joke in poor taste about the Baylor basketball murders. Promo would have been just as effective without the Baylor stuff. Some Mexicans I went to school with were there and they wanted to jump him in the parking lot.

– Finlay defeated JBL in a street fight via SHILLELAGH TO THE FRICKIN’ FACE.

– Main Event Time: Randy Orton and Snitsky vs. DEGENERATION X

– I know that the whole DX reunion in the summer pretty much buried the whole roster, but I won’t lie when I say that it was a whole lot of fun to see in person.

– Highlights included:

– Triple H doing the original mic stick, then being told by Shawn that they weren’t being broadcast.

– HHH asking for a toothbrush for Snitsky.

– After he refused the toothbrush, HHH ask if any one had gum, and the crowd began bombarding the ring with gum. Like the Aries pen promo from ROH, but not quite as cool.

– In one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while just because it was so old school, HHH and Shawn cut simultaneous sunset flips on the heels, and yanked the tights all the way down. Shawn then proceeded to drag Orton around the ring by his tights.

– Kind of disappointing as a match, but a fun main event none the less. HHH pinned Snitsky after Sweet Chin Music, followed by a Pedigree.

– HHH and Shawn walked around ringside for a while slapping hands with the fans.

– All in all, a great show that was a lot of fun.

– Best Match (work rate wise)- Carlito vs. Kendrick

– Worst Match- Venus and Super Crazy vs. Burchill and Regal. 3 of my favorite wrestlers in this match and it was still kind of boring. Don’t know why, just didn’t seem like there was much chemistry.

– Biggest Pops- DX, Finlay, Candice, Rhodes and Holly
– Biggest heat- JBL, Orton, Carlito
