TNA House Show Report – Evansville, IN: 3.20.08

March 21, 2008 | Posted by Larry Csonka

Thanks to 411 reader Mark for sending these results along!

– Probably about 1,000 in attendance. It was a pretty packed house. The floor was pretty full and the balcony was scattered with quite a few people.

– Jimmy Rave w/ Christy Hemme vs. Petey Williams. Williams won with the Canadian Destroyer in about 7 minutes. Good, fast-faced opener. Both guys were on and the crowd was into it.

– LAX vs. Curry Man and Kaz. Very entertaining. Curry Man was, well…he did a lot of dancing. There was a great “Fallen Angel” chant when Curry Man was about to be tagged in. Kaz was his usual bouncy self. Hernandez was THE MAN! He busted out the over the top dive onto Kaz and Curry AT A HOUSE SHOW! I marked out like a 6 year old to John Cena. LAX won with the cutter combo on Kaz in about 10 minutes.

– TNA Women’s Championship: Awesome Kong vs. ODB. Typical goodness from the ladies. Awesome Kong is Awesome and ODB was crazy – what you’d expect from these two. Awesome Bomb on ODB gave Kong the win in about 10 minutes.

– Booker T (w/ Sharmell) vs. Robert Roode (w/ Payton Banks) – Good match up here. It was one of the better Roode/Booker outings I have seen. Booker won with a Rock Bottom in about 7 minutes.

– INTERMISSION – Booker T signed autographs at the merchandise table.

– Motor City Machine Guns vs. AJ Styles and Tomko – Ohhhh yes. I was so glad to see this match. It was off-the-charts in terms of tag-team splendor. I was surprised that AJ and Tomko were so over with the crowd. Guns seemed to just be kind of going through the motions, but were still awesome. AJ and Tomko did all of their stuff and MCMG did there great double-team work. THIS MATCH MUST HAPPEN ON PPV! Fantastic match. These guys went a solid 15 minutes, worked hard, looked great – and the crowd was into it. This match made the night for me. Styles and Tomko won with their finisher – whatever it is.

– Main Event: Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage. Yes, this is the main event of every house show, but it was fantastic. Cage is in full-on face mode. They went 15 minutes and tore it up. This match was better than Final Resolution 2008. The last reversal sequence was flawless and a sight to behold. Cage tapped to the ankle lock.

– After the main event, people could take pictures with Kurt Angle in the ring for $20. Also, Homicide, Curry Man, Christy Hemme, JB, Rudy Charles, ODB, Awesome Kong, and Kaz signed autographs around ringside.

– Great show. Big props to TNA for bringing a solid show to southern Indiana.
