WWE News: WrestleMania Ticket Sales, Ricky Hatton, Flair After Retirement and More
Posted by Larry Csonka on 03.24.2008

- WrestleMania has now sold 66,000 tickets.

- The Hall of Fame Ceremony has sold 7,500 tickets thus far. The building will be set up for 10,000. In past years the Hall of Fame Ceremony has been in venues that hold 4-5,000.

- The current plan for Ric Flair's post wrestling career is that he will be kept off of TV and work for the company in an Ambassador's role. It is believed after the hiatus from TV, he will be brought back on in a non-wrestling role.

- Ricky Hatton revealed this week that he also turned down the chance to be a part of WrestleMania 24. Hatton was likely offered the spot teaming with Mysterio after de La Hoya passed on the role. Hatton would have likely meant a big boost to international PPV buys, as his fight with Mayweather did a reported 900,000-1.2 Million buys in the UK alone.

- Katie Lea Burchill's role could be changing soon as she has been booked as a heel wrestler on the road and tagging with Beth Phoenix a lot.

- WWE recently tried to get Lita to come and shoot an interview for the new Hardy DVD, but it didn't happen.

That's kinda shitty of Lita considering she was a pretty big part of their career's, not to mention, their life's.

I'm glad they are starting to use Katie Lea as a heel wrestler as shes wasted as a valet and Burchill would be better off just wrecking people for a bit no storyline yet.

I think that Phoenix and Lea teaming up and destroying pretty much everyone in the womens division then turning Phoenix face might be where they want to go.

Ii think Katie Lea's change of plans is more to do with the fact that she's actually a really good wrestler then the WWE being turned off incest. I mean, come on, Vince loves that kinda stuff.

As for Lita, well it could just be she had other commitments. It won't be quite right without her, but it wouldn't be the first time they've done a DVD without interviewing someone vital to it.

Not suprised by the Hatton thing. He has fight in a month or two and wouldn't want the injury risk
