Puerto Rico News: Update on the IWA situation
Posted by Armando Rodriguez on 03.24.2008

Huge update of news on the IWA: Puerto Rico situation:

- It was on Monday and not on Friday as previously stated that Mario Savoldi and employees of his emptied the old IWA offices of their equipment and furniture without telling anyone. Savio Vega and Miguel Perez found out that same morning when they went to work.

- They called the police and an investigation was set in motion. Savoldi had already left Puerto Rico, but the police found out that all the missing equipment and furniture(in addition to the IWA video library) had been stored in a private warehouse here in Puerto Rico.

- It is expected that a court case will occur to determine who gets posession of all the assets found, including the very valuable video library. All the equipment found has been property of IWA for the past 9 years, however, the court case would settle exactly who gets it since there is no clear cut owner of IWA.

- Savio Vega and Miguel Perez remain in posession of the ring and the production truck, the rest of the assets where taken and stored in that warehouse.

- According to rumors, Savio and Miguel have started to contact wrestlers from both, the IWA roster and free agents, with the idea of running several shows. The thing is that nobody knows if this shows will be run under the IWA banner or as a brand new company since it is not clear which side has the rights to the IWA name.

- The scheduled IWA shows for next weekend are up in the air at this moment.
