More WWE News: What Happened After RAW Went Off The Air, WM NYC Press Conference, Show & Mayweather On Today Show, More
Posted by Ashish on 03.25.2008

- WWE has hired former Dimension Films exec Steve Barnett as their new Vice President of Production for WWE Films.

"There are very few entertainment companies in the world that can market their brand as effectively as WWE," Barnett said. "I am very excited in developing and producing films and television for a company with that kind of focus and potency."

- Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, Floyd Mayweather, Big Show, Triple H, Randy Orton, Edge, Maria and Ashley are all scheduled to appear at the WrestleMania press conference in New York City tomorrow.

- Big Show and Floyd Mayweather will also be appearing on The Today Show on NBC tomorrow morning.

- After RAW went off the air last night, Ric Flair grabbed the mic and thanked the fans of South Carolina before exchanging "Whooos" with them for a few minutes. Flair then left as Randy Orton (in the ring) and Shawn Michaels (in the aisle) started to recover. Michaels flipped off the crowd and started to return to the ring. Orton got up and raised the WWE Title belt with his back to Michaels, unaware that he was entering the ring. Michaels got back in the ring and nailed Orton with Sweet Chin Music once he turned around to a big pop. Michaels them mocked Flair's family (seated in the front row) before leaving. Orton eventually got back to his feet and left with the WWE Title.

Shouldn't they have pulled off HBK's heel turn a few weeks ago? And preferably
on TV.

I have to agree with Dave. If they was going to turn either one heel, it should
have been weeks ago and on TV. The match at Wrestlemania will end in a show of
respect, though.

the only reason why HBK did that was for two reasons.

1. It wasn't televised.
2. It was in FLAIR COUNTRY.

I don't think a heel turn is required for this feud, honestly. HBK's been
marking out over Flair for weeks up until the old bastard pissed him off last
night.

No, that way after WM HBK can go right back into his face routine without any
whiplash via character change...

I agree Dave. They should've done the same thing with HBK that they did when he
went against Hogan in '05. The semi-heel trick worked to a charm.

Regardless though, I know HBK will bring it on Sunday.

I guess they need some type of heat for michaels in this match. If you go face
vs. face, we don't care how it ends. It was flair vs. a heel, it creates more
drama in the match. I mean people know that Flair won't win, but I'm sure in
the match that there will be a teaser for a Flair win. If HBK was a heel, then
the crowd would heat up for it. Since he's got just as much as a fan following
as Flair, the want for a Flair win isn't there. The whole mutual respect angle
is weak and tired. If anyone should retire Flair , it should be the stinger. If
they can pay mayweather 20 million for a match that will have some type of
interference, why can't they pay sting 2-5 mil for a one night appearance.

HEEL HBK~!

Posted By: JJ (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 04:28 PM

They are not ACTUALLY paying him 20 million dollars. That is insane. Its
WRESTLING. Its a work.

I guess 1820 hasn't noticed that Sting is under contract to TNA, and has
repeatedly made it clear that he wants nothing to do with the WWE crapfest.

it's kinda ironic that the "smarks" on here don't want a face vs. face
match at mania between HBK and Flair... I mean, it's REALLLLY 8 year old level
markish to think that there NEEDS to be a "bad guy" for this match to
be special.

Posted By: Jamal (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 05:20 PM

I think the Flair vs HBK built up has been great. I am really looking forward to
this match. We know that if The Naitch wants a great last match at MAnia one of
the few wrestlers that can give it to him is Mr. Wrestlemania "HBK".
Like many I would have loved to have the Stinger vs the Nature boy for
"one more last time"... but live is never perfectc...

Jamal you're the one sounding like a mark. If you want true heat in this match
you need one as a bad guy and one is a good guy. This isn't Hogan/Warrior,
where both guys are ridiculously popular and 70,000 fans are split.

Posted By: The Man (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 06:23 PM

This is the same temporary heel thingy Michaels did for the build to HBK/Hogan
at Summerslam a few years back. He'll be back to FACE after he hugs Flair in
the ring.

Posted By: McLovin (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 06:44 PM

that was cool...

VINTAGE HBK!!!

Posted By: Pepo (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 06:47 PM

He's just "heeling it up" to get the best out of Flair. I thought
that was pretty clear by the almost crying look when he was walking away after
the interview.

who's going to be at the hard rock cafe tomorrow?

Posted By: Guest#3899 (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 09:12 PM

So Shawn FLIPPED OFF THE CROWD???
I don't care if it's acting or not, that doesn't hold up to his Christian
beliefs.

Posted By: Wow (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 09:33 PM

I'd flip that dumbass SC crowd also. Go to hell SC

Posted By: noway (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 10:08 PM

Actualy hbk getting an Heel win over flair at mania would actually be pretty
good oppose to him turning heel weeks ago and you know who to go fore. Now itll
be open water to cheer for whoever and if one goes heel and gets the win the
fans will be just as pissed

Posted By: Hedge (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 10:40 PM

Don't agree with the flipping off thing. But I'll hold judgment until I see he
actually did it and not one of those forearm thrust things people do...and also
because his actions up until now give me reason to believe he's got true
faith...so he gets the benefit of the doubt.

Posted By: me (Guest)  on March 25, 2008 at 11:23 PM

So Shawn flipped off the crowd! Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven. We get
caught up in the moment too! Shawn didn't put himself on a perfect pedestal.
Lighten Up! Look Up!
