WWE® To Launch Cutting Edge "WWE Kids" Magazine
STAMFORD, Conn., March 25, 2008 – World Wrestling Entertainment® is debuting "WWE Kids," an exciting new consumer magazine targeting 6-14 year olds. The bi-monthly title launches April 15, beginning with the much anticipated May/June issue. The launch will be supported with a comprehensive cross-platform blitz, including a 100,000-unit pallet promotion in Wal-Mart stores.
"With content ranging from fitness and nutrition to geography to esteem building, ‘WWE Kids' will appeal to children, their parents, and their teachers. Young fans will get to know their favorite Superstars through activity-based art projects, fun games, interviews and trivia", said Tony Romando Vice President, Editorial Director.
Every week, more than 2.6 million young fans, ages 6-14, tune-in to WWE's top-rated television programs on USA Network, The CW and SCI FI Channel. In the fourth quarter of 2007, WWE reached more kids under age 18 during the average week than the total day average deliveries of Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon combined. "WWE Kids" will tap into these youthful WWE enthusiasts and also encourage their friends to become fans as well. "The WWE brand appeals to millions of fans worldwide. ‘WWE Kids' Magazine is a logical brand extension that is specifically designed for our younger audience," stated Bob Lee, Vice President, Publishing Director.
"The WWE youth initiative, which includes the new ‘WWE Kids' magazine and the WWE website for kids. are all part of WWE's recommitment to provide its young audience with new, fun, age-appropriate content," said Shane McMahon, Executive Vice President, Global Media.

Isn't it sad that an hour recap show of RAW at 2 in the goddam morning scores a better rating than the replay of TNAs only and flagship show?

It's not sad...it's expected...
TNA is NOT on the same level as WWE...and any TNA fanboy who thinks that truly is drunk on Dixie Carter's and Kurt Angle's Kool-Aid...

Not really, Nick. AM Raw tends to be watched by kids who don't get to stay up late to watch Raw, but are up bright and early on Saturday when AM Raw airs. The Impact replay airs late at night and usually caters to the same fans who saw the show the first time and can't find anything else to watch.

I think that TNA should should just show highlights from the orginal show, on the weekends and basically use it as a promotional tool for Impact and last minute hard-sell for ppvs and houseshows. The impacat replay last weekend got double the ratings that the replay got the week before. It went from a .27 to .60 in one week because people are generally interested in a more serious product. People heard about how much better Impact was last week, than it was the weeks before and decided to tune into the replay so they could see for themselves. Now the question is whether TNA can get these people to watch the original airing of Impact, specifically once the NCAA tournament is over.

Yeah, but AM Raw is on at 2am Sunday mornings, not early on Saturdays. That's why it's sad.

Would it surprise you to know that the McMahons are funding Panda Energy? Get it? Panda -- WWF. I would not be surprised.

6-14...so on one page a Rey Mysterio Jr. cartoon the next page a Diva poster. But its all PG like they look hot, but they are like wearing a ski suit or perhaps dressed like school girls but sitting behind a desk doing math.

Yes, Mflair, Vince McMahon founded Panda Energy in _1982_ knowing that he would 20 years later monopolize the wrestling business and need some sort of competition to, um, what was the purpose again? He purposely made it a company that does a business completely unrelated to that of wrestling just to throw you smart fans off the trail. That Vince sure is a genius, but not as much of a genius as you are for figuring it all out.[/sarcasm]
Seriously, if McMahon wanted to create an alternative to his product that would allow him to gain market share that WWE can't get, wouldn't he have done so through WCW or ECW, two established names with significant brand value that he _actually does own_?

Holy Crap! Does this mean we're going to get John Cena's Rock n' Wrestling?
