WWE RAW did a 3.42 rating last night off hours of 3.27 and 3.56. That number is down from last week's 3.5 and is not a good sign going into WrestleMania this weekend.
What do they expect when they book a bunch of matches nobody cares about? I
tried to watch the show but I fell asleep repeatedly before switching it off
before ten. Once Cena wins the title at mania, I'll be back to not watching.

They should have had SuperCena take on the entire Raw roster by himself, and win
after OVERCOMING THE ODDS! *THAT* would have got a high rating, because
SuperCena is our Lord and Saviour. Right? Guys? Hello?

unless you're a Nielsen home, it doesn't matter if you watch or not
Posted By: realist (Guest) on March 25, 2008 at 08:20 PM
Who cares? A few more people tuning in after "Dancing With The Stars"
won't make a difference when it comes to number of buys. If someone is really
plopping $54.95 for a show, they will be watching the build up to it.

their booking is god awful and they screw up even the simplest of money making
angles. look what they did with flair. they've earned it.

You know, I've watched every RAW & SMACKDOWN & ECW show that has aired
in 2008 without missing a minute of the shows. I must say I really don't
"feel" WRESTLEMANIA 24. Outside of Ric Flair possibly wrestling his
last match there is nothing that has excited me so much that I have to go &
order the event. Granted, there are several matches that I would not mind
watching, but I'll just save my money & buy the DVD when it comes out.
Maybe next year Vince.

Ah the Cena hate is becoming a parody now. The guy had some of the best matches
for the company last year, can sell, can carry a match, shows intensity yet
people hate him for no reason other than they hate wiggers (which his character
hasn't been in years).
Posted By: Guest#5285 (Guest) on March 25, 2008 at 09:36 PM
Yeah the same reason I hate Edge, because he doesn't talk and enters through the
crowd and hangs out with that unsavory Gangrel Character.

the Cena marks are whining again you keep telling us how Cena is the whole deal
and we have to deal with it. No he isn't the whole deal people don't care that
much except for his fans who in this slow time for the business. No one missed
him when he was gone and his return has done nothing for the business but just
sell some merchandise hes not even the biggest draw at Mania and people are
going to be rooting more for HHH then him. Mayweather-Big show has been more
interesting then Cena's lame return and will have more to do with the buy rate
for WM then Cena winning again but of course when the show does a high buy rate
the same marks and some of the writers on here will as usual say its because of
Cena which will draw a big laugh from most people. People are clamoring more of
a HHH win is because he's deserving of it and no his 2 hour title reign in
October doesn't really qualify. People being sick of Cena doesn't more money
that means less viewers something some of you have a hard time grasping for
some reason but I'm not shocked anymore.

If you take the time to seek out a wrestling website and then comment on it, you
CLEARLY care about Wrestlemania, the WWE, Monday Night RAW, and everything else
involving men in spandex pretending to punch each other.
Complaining about the booking of pretend fighting is retarded. Coming to a
wrestling website and commenting on just how much you hate the booking of men
pretending to fight is worse than that.
Seriously, no one cares what you think. Especially not when you'll watch the
product no matter what it is.
Posted By: DG (Guest) on March 25, 2008 at 10:24 PM
people wont watch no matter what..
Look at 1994 to early 1997..
bad bad times.
people tuned out when they'd had enough.
--
Personally I think the problem is that theres no real counter balance for
Cena.
and that pattern started with brock.
When brock came in they shot him to the moon and no one came up with him.
he'd have a similar backlash now if he hadn't of left so soon.
Cena, came up a bit slower but since his rise its pretty much been the john
cena show.
and i think this is a representation of wwe's status in a way right now.
one big dog,
no one else (booked) at same levels.
Through out wrestling time.. there has always been the equal and opposite.
Hogan vs Savage
Flair vs Sting
Hart Vs HBk
Triple H vs IWC (;P)
Austin Vs Rock
Angle Vs Some canadian
there was always -that- guy who could stand up to the other at a moments
notice.
that had the best matches with the other, who had the greatest rivalry.
who's Cena's ?
Edge ? ..
maybe a year ago i would have argued that..
but even he wasn't booked right to hold that spot vs cena.
-I- feel that Carlito would have been that man.
but they messed that up with years of bad jobs and booking.
--
and as for ratings..
the system is a sham.
there using a system from 30..40, 50 years ago to measure the way people watch
tv today ?
in the day and age of tivo, dvd, web streams and "time shifting"..
there is -no- way that the ratings can be trusted these days.
I think, that all digital boxes, tivos ect..
should have a configuration option that simply says "track my viewing
habits"
that way instead of 2 people in Alabama counting for 2.8 million people or what
ever..
anyone that -chooses- to have there viewing "tracked" counts for part
of the ratings.
you'd get a much better sample rate, and all it would take is a simple..SIMPLE
firmware update.
(and as it would be an option, there are no privacy issues as you could turn it
off when you want.)

DG, the double standard again. Watch, and you're a fool who will watch no matter
what and can't complain. Don't watch, and you're being ignorant and can't
complain either. So basically, you can't complain. That is what WWE marks (yes
MARKS I said it) expect from people, and why wrestling is in a near-Savio Vega
style era.
For the record, I don't watch anymore. It's just so bad. To be honest I was
shocked to learn Wrestlemania is this weekend!!
But I check this site every other day or so for that small chance that
something is changing for the better. From the news I see, occasional recap,
and WWE PPV cards . . it isn't.
Wrestling still blows.
It's a shame.
Cena is a good guy in reality, but his character (unless its changed since 1
year ago . . pffft) is bland, uninteresting, beyond stale, cliche, and
formulatic. He's The Rock Lite (tm).
You can see the board meetings with big diagrams written in sharpie's on what
made the old guys (Rock, Austin, Hogan) work and the douchebags at the E saying
"Yeah, we'll have Cena do THAT!"
Morons. Cena has potential to be a classic, but IMO, he needs to be a heel for
that to happen. His superman thing blows. And yeah? He gets pops? So did the
Blue Meanie. And yeah, kids cheer him? Kids also cheer Ben 10, Spongebob's
friend Patrick, Hannah Montana, and chocolate sprinkles.
I look forward to the day wrestling is exciting again.

1. They did a bad job advertising this Raw. They should have advertised this as
maybe the last Raw for Flair as a active wrestler, but instead there was
nothing more then a tag team announced. BAD!
2. The show has for the last 2-3 weeks felt like they are just waiting for
Wrestlemania.
3. No storylines that keeps you interested and makes it a MUST watch show.
4. Now do remember that Raw before Wrestlemania 19 also got a 3.4. Its not the
end of the world.

Heh .. all the Cena fans are hysterical. John Cena has some good matches, but
please note its with people who CAN CARRY HIS UNTALENTED ASS ... like HBK, who
could probably carry a 200 pound bag of concrete to a good match.
Cena is horrible, hopefully after WM the WWE will FINALLY see this and drop him
down the card where he belongs, with his stupid game show music and terrible
in-ring repitiore.
Posted By: Lumpybacca (Guest) on March 26, 2008 at 12:47 AM
Why exactly is Cena a bad wrestler? I realize he doesn't have overly flashy
moves, and he doesn't go flying off the top rope with crazy dives.
He goes out and he WORKS. Yeah, sure, they probably call the match in the back
with the road agent, and they go over everything that is supposed to happen.
Big deal, if you're on this site, you probably realize that.
But John Cena, that guy? He can wrestle. That guy can work a crowd and one hell
of a match. Wrestling isn't always about great looking suplexes, awesome
submissions, crazy flips and dives and stuff of that nature.
Every single wrestler has a different style. His gimmick is that he's just a a
real guy, from the streets, and he's a FIGHTER. In a legit fight, do you think
a guy is gonna try and maneuver himself behind his attacker/opponent, and try
and German Suplex him? No, he's gonna try and punch the guy in the face, or in
the ribs.
And it's not like Cena is proclaiming himself one way when it's clear he's not.
He says exactly who he is, and he acts as such.
Just because you don't like that style of wrestling doesn't make him a bad
wrestler, or a shitty worker that can't draw shit and doesn't sell enough
merchandise. Yeah, that makes a bunch of sense.
I work with kids, and everyday, there's atleast one kid at camp who wears a
Cena shirt. I also pick kids up from school, and there's DOZENS of kids who
wear his shirt all the time. I understand this is a small percentage of the US,
and the entire world for that matter, but it's just ignorant to say the guy
doesn't sell, and that he should be pushed down to the midcard.
Besides, if he got depushed, we'd just get all the haters saying he deserves to
be pushed back up and that he's being treated poorly... and so the cycle
continues.

Yes, CENA = RATINGS, obviously
EVERYBODY LUV CENA OR ELSE!
sorry, but this dude sucks big donkey balls and while understand you may love
him for whatever weird reason you imagine, keep in mind thats just you and no,
that doesnt make you ONLY RIGHT
and yes, you can of course deny he doesnt get bood every time and claim other
sillyness - it still doesnt make any of that true

Matches John Cena made great:
vs. Triple H at WM22
vs. Edge at Unforgiven 2006
vs. Umaga at NYR 2007
vs. Umaga at Royal Rumble 2007
vs. Shawn Michaels at WM23
vs. Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, and Edge at Backlash 2007
vs. Khali at Judgment Day 2007
vs. Khali at One Night Stand 2007
All of those matches were watchable and enjoyable, and they were hardly because
of the other guy. John Cena knows how to play a crowd, how to build a comeback,
and how to make an entertaining match.
Seriously, you may bitch about John Cena now, but when it's actually safe to
appreciate his body of work in five years or so, you'll feel ridiculous for not
being on board sooner.
Posted By: DG (Guest) on March 26, 2008 at 06:20 AM
Lumpybacca - yeah, guys that could carry Cena such as Umaga, Great Khali, and
Bobby Lashley.
You're delusional to a level that sickens me. Stop pretending to be a critic,
junior.

Just compare the build for the main event at WM to the main event at TNA's
Lockdown, and you'll see a major difference.
TNA actually explained the reasons Joe and Angle want to fight. They actually
give the fans a reason to care.
WWE, not so much, and why should they? They know kiss-asses like DG will watch
just because Cena and HHH are involved.
The WWE doesn't have to think long term and exciting finishes as long as they
know people will watch.
That's why I feel much better about what's going to happen at TNA as compared
to WWE in the long run.
Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Cena fan, and he works hard on his character
and wrestling. However, the superman push left a bad taste in a lot of
people's mouths. Should HHH win Sunday and turn heel, at least then it will
give people a reason to watch Cena chase him, which would be worth it.

The funny thing is people who complain about Cena and than praise HBK in the
next breath. HBK has made a career off of doing the superman/overcoming the
odds gimmick but for some strange reason gets a pass, and this is coming from
an HBK fan. Not to mention a lot of times HBK completely forgets about selling
and does his stupid jump up, many times forgetting that his leg had been
getting worked over for an entire match.
And to the guy that said Cena can't carry matches, he carried Lashley to a
pretty damn good match at the Bash and even was able to get a watchable match
out of Kahli (which not too many people have been able to do).
I'm not a Cena mark at all but the hate he gets is just starting to get funny
now. The thing I like too is when he comes out for his entrance and gets a huge
pop and than 3 mins later he gets booed because the sheep remember that it's
cool to hate Cena.
