WWE News: Big Daddy V, Show/Mayweather On Today Show, HOF Ceremony, More
Posted by Ashish on 03.26.2008
Wednesday WWE news update...
- WWE.com is listing Big Daddy V as one of the participants in the 24 man Battle Royal prior to WrestleMania on Sunday, however, he was not in the 24 man tag match on ECW On Sci-Fi last night and was not in the graphic shown for the Battle Royal on ECW last night.
- USA Network will be airing a repeat of the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony Sunday morning at 2AM ET.
- The Miami Herald has an article up looking at the Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather match and other past wrestler vs. boxer matches. Check out the article here.
- Big Show and Floyd Mayweather appeared on NBC's Today Show this morning. They talked a little smack to each other and promoted WrestleMania XXIV on Sunday.
I did notice that Matt Striker (V's manager) was doing that "V" hand
gesture towards Chavo with a sneer on his face as if to say "Big Daddy V's
coming for you, champ" so I'm guessing Striker was in the battle royal as a
proxy of V.

I dont understand why everyone is thinking that just because BDV wasnt in the 24
man tag match he isnt in the Battle Royal. I dont think they EVER said that the
people in the 24 man match would be ALL in the Battle Royal

Yeah they did, that's why they had the match.

BDV wasn't at the battle royal cause he was at KFC until 10 that night, and
missed the show. I know, i saw the mess afterwards.

BDV was just one guy who was miising... Why not let everyone not in a match at
WM be apart of the Battle Royal? It would make it like 30 instead of 24. Add
BDV (or Stryker if BDV already in), Dykstra, Funaki, Haas, the non-hurt
Highlander, and Nunzio. I'm sure there are more guys but 30 seems like a good
number.

From the listing on WWE.com Striker has always been in the match. Last night,
Snitsky replaced BDV. I guess we will see who will be in the Pre-Show Match at
Wrestlemania.
My guess on the 24-man instead of 30, is because it is for ECW the C string
show. I know, hardly any of these guys are even on ECW but still, this WWE
bookings thinking now a days.

The reason it is a 24 man battle royal is for Wrestlemania 24. That makes
sense, I guess. I think when they originally announced it they said it would
be 24 ECW/Smackdown wrestlers, which again, makes sense with their
"working relationship". But obviously they needed the star power of
Holly, Rhodes, Kendrick, and of course former Royal Rumble champion and former
King Hacksaw Jim Duggan, leaving no room for the likes of Stevie, Colin
Delaney, or Balls Mahoney. (Does he even work here anymore?)

Steroids? Big Daddy V is abusing Twinkies.

Big Daddy V can't be in the battle Royal for 3 reasons...
1. The ring has to be able to hold more than just him.
2. He counts for about 20 people by himself.
3. He can never be eliminated. When they throw him to the ground, his body
never touches the floor, just his fat does.
