as for warrior, y didn't he come out in his old gear? wrestling in a suit... i wonder how much NWE are paying him, and how orlando feels jobbing to him, after all he has said abt queers?
Posted By: Faisal (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 01:37 PM
Believe it or not, I'm actually fascinated by The Ultimate Warrior. He's a whack job but he holds a place in my childhood memories of wrestling.

man I woulda started a bullshit chang when he walked out.
Posted By: chris (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 01:48 PM
Does Vince offer a reward for turning in those who blatantly infringe copyright? There's no way he's legally allowed to use all that WWE footage.
Posted By: Jason S (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 01:55 PM
Was that match footage or a run in/promo? Was warrior warrior so out of shape he had to wear a suit and tie to wrestle in?
Posted By: aprince666 (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 01:56 PM
wow....that ring is shady......and he looks ollllddd
Posted By: e (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 01:59 PM

Are you sure that was Bob Backlund?
Posted By: Kent Baker (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 02:06 PM
Great video. But he does look strange with short hair. However, he still has the moves and is in great condition.

i might sound like a total dumbass here, but isnt that footage in his entrance video copywritten by the wwe? that being said, i'm not familiar with NWE but it looks like they have a pretty decent set up.
Posted By: hellboysetsfire (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 02:15 PM
They must be hard up for wrestling entertainment over there.

Jim Hellwig + Business Suit + Age + dirty Mexico - actual WARRIOR Character
= EPIC FAIL
Posted By: WTF (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 02:26 PM
HA! That was about the extent of what he did when he was active in WWE. Sure it was a house show, but I spent my hard earned money to see Warrior vs Andre. Andre took forever to get to the ring...then came warrior. He ran out did his usual shake a few ropes, bounced back and forth and then did the stupid clothesline thing on Andre, knocking him out of the ring. That was the match. Just about as long as the second video above. LMAO. Well, that was it for me as a wrasslin fan until the Stone Cold Era...
Posted By: LMAO (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 02:28 PM
Whoa... how are they using WWF footage for that titantron?
Expect a call from Vince's lawyers shortly boys.
Posted By: Rollz (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 02:31 PM

Posted By: FUZEY (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 03:54 PM
Man sure shakes the ropes a lot. Kind of weird to see him come out in that attire, I mean, there's this video of him being crazy, and face paint, and all. Then, he comes out in business attire.
Posted By: senorfro (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 04:24 PM
Wait, he didn't even take time to put on the face paint?! WTH??? At least he kept his shirt on so no one had to see his flabby physique.
That might have been Warrior but it wasn't the Ultimate Warrior.
Posted By: PHOENIXZERO (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 04:52 PM
I meet the warrior years ago. What R jerk he was. Who you want to see him Wrestle anyway. Was never a fan of His and Never Will Be.

The Ultimate Warrior in a suit? WTH was that?
Posted By: fg76 (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 07:15 PM
I'm gonna go easy on the guy. He's getting paid, people over there want to see him, so good for him. In wrestling it's all about the money. It's not like he's pissing on his legend or anything. Win/win for everyone there.
Posted By: Mercurywaxing (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 07:15 PM
The Ultimate Retarded Warrior is back baby !!! Since he's in Spain, I hope Homeland Security does NOT allow him back into the U.S. He's a terrorist. Ask The Iron Sheik.
Posted By: KayfabeMessiah (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 07:16 PM
the copyrights are maintained in the US. The show is in Spain.
Posted By: BuDDyLighT021 (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 07:22 PM
i think he saw flair's farewell and wanted the same for himself. then he realized that he had to comeback first before he can say goodbye.
Posted By: rey (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 07:48 PM
He didn't wrestle! He's coming back to face Orlando Jordan on june 25th. This was just a build up. As he was being honored by the NWE, Jordan interrupted and challenged Warrior. You guy's didn't read the other article?
Posted By: JB (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 08:06 PM
So the second video was the set-up for Warrior's return match in June, right?
I'm interested to see how the match will go and to see what look he'll go for now, if he'll be able to pull-off the face paint and tassles with the short hair.
*Goes and watches the Self Destruction DVD*

Ladies and gentlemen, THE ULTIMATE LAWYER!
Posted By: Adrian (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 08:45 PM
He wasn't wrestling, his "big" return match is on June 25th 2008 in Barcelona. He was attacked by Orlando Jones to setup their upcoming match.
Posted By: CJMichaels (Registered) on April 20, 2008 at 09:31 PM
Woah, lots of comments. So people aren't interested in Warrior Warrior Warrior Warrior anymore? Apparently they are, even if just for a mixture of hate and comedy.
On the copyright, I don't even think Warrior owns the rights to the full "Ultimate Warrior" name, let alone the footage (Wasn't that the whole reason he changed his name to Warrior in the first place). Maybe the copyright doesn't cover Spain for some reason.
Classic Warrior wasn't always so bad. But he needed opponents that knew how to work a match with less talented, but very over, people. Macho Man comes to mind, but also I saw him at a House show versus Undertaker which was pretty good. Taker did the job, but at least he beat him up and shoved him in a bodybag after (remember that gimmick?). It was kinda sad that they ever dropped the W-Bomb on an old and increasingly unwell Andre.
As for his current fitness, he still looks like he has muscle, but given he never had that much stamina to begin with a 50 year old warrior is bound to have a shorter squash match against Orlando then then Kane had against Guerrero at WM. I think Jordon will be fondly missing the days when he got to job to Chris Benoit. Lol.

that's the coolest thing i've seen in wrestling the past 15 years! that was awesome!
Posted By: theHomewrecker! (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 09:49 PM
He is not supposed to use "Ultimate" either.
I guess it dont matter in Spain. lol
Posted By: Redvexx (Guest) on April 20, 2008 at 09:57 PM
I like the ulimate warrior, on the few things i remember about wrestling a kid, didn't get back into it until the Attitude Era. You guys sound real bitter, what did he do to you personally?

Only the Warrior could make a headline this stupid. He fought in a damn suit. What an idiot.
Posted By: Dwayne (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 12:31 AM
Nobody can shake the ropes quite like the warrior does, with ULTIMATE TENACITY
Posted By: Mike (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 01:38 AM
i wonder how much warrior charges promotions to pay him to come in wearing a suit, clothesline some of their young talent, shake the ropes, and then leave?

Posted By: McLovin (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 11:18 AM
I thought Warrior won a lawsuit against Vince, where he was able to be the "Ultimate Warrior?"
The footage is the stuff he's used for his political speeches, but in terms of using them for a wrestling fed - Vince could go after him for that. I guess he didn't do it for the 'speeches' because it was like - 'why bother.'
Posted By: fg76 (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 12:54 PM
In other words, he wears a suit to hide his body because he's no longer doing steroids.
Posted By: Chico (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 12:56 PM
That's not the Ultimate Warrior. The video footage at the beginning was of the Ultimate Warrior. Ultimate Warrior was a character. That character did not appear in that ring. The man who played that character came to the ring and copied some of his own limited moves of that character while wearing a suit.
Posted By: Chico (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 01:07 PM
JBL does one hell of a Warrior Impression...
Seriously, he wrestled in a suit? No make up? Short Hair? Thank god, I didnt pay money to see that shit.
He should of given one of his "gays are the devil" speeches. Or they should of just played his shoot interview on the screen. - Where he talks about his "extensive" moveset.
Posted By: Eddie Chicago (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 01:12 PM

steroids.
Posted By: Chico (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 12:56 PM
Not that he should keep doing steroids or that it was a good idea to ever have taken them. He never should have taken them and it's good that he apparently has stopped.

i met warrior recently and he was one of the nicest people ive ever met. sure he has a lot of history and i have read all what has been said about him but when i met him, he was a gentleman and i was in awe of him, im not even that big a fan! im almost tempted to travel to spain for the show in june! if only i was wealthier!
Posted By: paul (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 02:50 PM
Stop hating the Warrior. If you're not a fan of WM VI then you're either really young or have forgotten you're roots. That was a defining moment in Wrestling History. The Warrior locked himself up in a janitors room and cried after that match because he knew what had just happened. Hogan didn't talk to anyone for days. the Warrior was good as much as we know about his greed he was still a huge draw. I still have his poster in my room from 1990.
Posted By: JasonE (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 03:55 PM
Hey! He stole Batista's rope shakes!! That's just not cool...
Posted By: Jim Bob (Guest) on April 21, 2008 at 05:13 PM
Shhh! Listen very carefully... you can hear the phones in Titan Towers' legal department ringing off the hook... even can hear them from where you're sitting.
I doubt that the copyright is not covered in Spain... and I somehow doubt that a company that prides itself of being international, with the first W in WWE being the word "WORLD" wouldn't bother protecting it's properties/footage ONLY in the United States. Hell, they'll go after websites that simply use the WWE logo without permission. WWE is is VERY protective of their footage and I doubt that Warrior will get away with using WWE footage in his entrance videos for other promotions... even in Spain.
Now... onto the suit... I can look past that he's older now and maybe chubby and not "ripped," has shorter hair and may even move around like an older man. No one can stop aging... but, coming into the ring sans the gimmick that brought him to the big dance he enjoyed in the 80's/90's is simply unforgivable.
He should've put the face paint on... he should've put on the wrestling gear. He should've TRIED. He used to own big Ric Flair-esc air brushed art type robes at the peak of his career that could've covered his aged physique to that promo appearance.
The gimmick, not his wrestling skills or promo cutting ability got him over in the first place. Why leave the gimmick at the door when your trying to sell your biggest match in recent memory?
It's Warrior's thinking like this that never allowed him to excel to great career heights past WrestleMania VI.
