World Wrestling Council Results for May the 3rd 2008 from Ponce, PR
- The SWAT Team defeat Johnny Ringo & Johnny Styles by pinfall. Nice opening match and it's a shame that The SWAT's are stuck on opening matches when the rest of the WWC Tag Team division is on fire. Does anyone remember that The SWAT's where once the IWA Tag Team Champions?
-WWC Women's Title
Killer Kat defeats Genesis by pinfall to become the new WWC Women's Champion. WWC brings back the women's title from the closet or whatever it is they hid it from the past few months. If you remember correctly, Genesis had turned heel to win the title but after all the face women left, WWC put the title on hold. Genesis came out as the spunky babyface she once was with no mention whatsoever of her heel turn.
- El Condor and Jose Chaparro came out for a talky talky segment. Basically Condor said that since he is in second place in the league, they should drag whoever is first out here and have them face off so Condor could beat him too and win the Universal Title once and for all. Crowd cheered at this, which once more demostrates that WWC has no idea how to turn Condor into an effective heel. Carlos Colon came out and stepped into the ring and said that he could not grant Condor's request because there where still several other wrestlers in the chase for the gold and that those other wrestlers deserve the opportunity to compete. Note: WWC tried to make Carlos sound like a babyface authority figure that wanted to be fair, but of course, he got booed for his decision. This led to Condor attacking Carlos and they brawl, Victor Jovica comes out and tells Carlos that he created a monster when he allowed Condor to compete in the tournament and that it will be up to him to stop him. Jovica books Carlos vs Condor for next week.
- Crazy Rudy & "The Phenomenal" BJ defeat The Legion of Armaggedon by pinfall. Rudy and BJ are very over, but everyone knew the Legion of Jobberdoom stood no chance. Note to WWC: BJ is the Television Champion. Titles are supposed to be defended. You have half a dozen guys stuck in limbo (Hammet, Castillo, etc) so why not put on some title matches?
- Dave D'Jour defeats "Outlaw" Todd Dean by pinfall. It was supposed to be D'Jours vs Outlaws for the tag team titles, but Bradley was "injured" and could not compete. So they made this singles match and if the D'Jour win, they get a title shot next week. I dont really know what happened with Bradley, but if this is more of WWC's bait and switch booking, they made a HUGE mistake because this is the D'Jour's hometown and it would have been BIG to have them win the gold here. Anyway, the twins pull the old switcharoo trick and the fresh twin gets the pinfall with a surprise roll-up.
-Universal Title League:
Orlando Colon defeats Hannibal by DQ when Profe interferes. They announce that in spite of the DQ finish, Orlando wins two points. Why? They never bothered to explain, but I guess something will be shown on TV to clarify this. Hannibal and Profe beat Orlando down until Rico Suave and BJ make the save.
-Universal Title League:
Lightning vs Noriega went to double countout and each man earns one point.
- Huracan Castillo defeats Rico Suave by pinfall. Great part of the crowd was cheering for Castillo and Rico adapted to play the heel. I guess the match wont make it to TV then. Castillo won while using the ropes for leverage. Suave then attacked the ref. Yep, definitively this is not going to air on TV.
- Universal Title League:3 Way Dance and the winner gets 4 points
El Condor defeats Bryan & Thunder by pinfall. Bryan nailed Thunder with the Death Valley Driver, but Condor then tossed Bryan and pinned Thunder to win 4 points.
