man, joey styles was such a great play by play announcer, i hate to hear him say
he's retiring, but if he feels like it's time for him to hang it up then there's
nothing wrong with that

Of course, we all know how solid retirement announcements are in professional
wrestling...

well yknow, he did enjoy play by play, but he never quit his day job(well, not
until the WWE offered an assload of money)

I think he prefers a little less limelight

I'll miss Joey on PBP but I'm glad he's happy with his new position in the
company. He's a member of the Board now. That carries alot more responsibility
than a PBP guy.

Chris Leben was sentenced to 35-days in jail due to a parole violation, which he
turned himself in for. He will be released on May 27th, as he is being given
credit for days served, but that will allow him the proper time to train for
the June 7th fight with Michael Bisping in London. ANYWAY.. It funny that John
Cena's name on list are "gone" like I said "steroid" is
not gonna helpful at their success because everyone will look down
"steroid" person and say "get life and do work out without
steroid" it's true.

Joey Styles was the last TRUE old school wrestling announcer, JR not
withstanding. Thats it guys, wrestling commentary as we knew it is gone.

I bet Joey Styles is back on WWE Tv within 3 months

I have a hard time beleiving they wouldn't use him in the event of an emergency.
Then again, maybe they would actually use Josh Mathews... he's still around,
right?!

"... Then again, maybe they would actually use Josh Mathews... he's still

don't even joke about that dude..lol..
not cool.

I'd rather have Nikolai Volkoff on PbP then Mathews.

why the hell is "NCAA: 2001 FedEx Orange Bowl National Championship"
always doing in the top 10 and who the hell is buying it every month?!?

Yeah, it's been said here, retirement announcements in wrestling aren't solid at
all.

If WWE doesn't put Styles back on commentary after this Adamle fiasco becomes
too much, or for a variety of other reasons, or if Styles leaves WWE in few
years... he'll be back behind the desk.

He's just trying to put over his new job, Adamle's position and WWE.com. That's
ALL it is.

Great, out of the 7 announcers they have the only good one retires. (JBL was
great, but is back to wrestling, and I haven't heard Foley yet) Why can't JR
& King retire? Please!

I never understood the hype around Joe Joe. I guess all the mindless zombies
that jumped on the orginal ECW bandwagon never wanted to say anything bad about
their *ahem* wrestling.

It's been claimed on this site that ALL NCAA Football videos are inventoried
under that name.

its too bad we're losing him as a play by play guy. he was the only guy who
could do everything himself, like he did in the heyday of ECW, and he spoke his
mind in a humerous and entertaining matter like no one else ever did. Of
course, in the landscape of today's announcing he wouldn't be able to do what
he can do. Digital Media's gain is wrestling announcing's loss. If mike adamle
goers to the announcing graveyard I'll feel better.

OMG!! WHAT A DEMOTION FOR STYLES!!! HOW DARE HE DO SOMETHING THAT HE WANTS TO
DO!!!

sure, they would ask him to do a show if they had to, but Adamle hasn't even
begun to cut his teeth. i wouldn't expect any change in ECW announcing for at
least the next 8 to 10 months, if ever

Adamle isn't good, but he hasn't got the experience to be good, and no one i
have ever know has been put into a new job and been good at it, that is why
there is a learning curve.

hopefully, Adamle will do a James Dean on the curve and we won't have to deal
with him much longer, but don't get your hopes up.

Styles was the greatest. I'll for sure miss him calling the action.

Joey Styles never bothered me as a commentator. He's better than Vince McMahon
with his "OH MY! HE JUST CAME CRAAASHING DOWN TO THE BACK OF THE NECK
AREEAAAA.!!! OH MY! I read the Heyman Hustle and he says that Vince McMahon has
Adamle on play-by-play so fans will tune in to hear how much he messes up,
hoping for better ratings. He should maybe hire Tony Schiavone instead.
