Press Release: WWE Declares Quarterly Dividend

The investors win while the McMahons wave their increase.
WWE sent out the following press release today:
STAMFORD, Conn., May 09, 2008 -- World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:WWE) today declared the Company's regular quarterly dividend of $0.36 per share on its Class A shares of common stock. As previously announced, members of the McMahon family have waived $0.12 per share of the dividends. As a result, all Class A and Class B shares owned by the McMahon family will instead receive dividends in the amount of $0.24 per share. The record date for the dividend will be June 13, 2008, and the payment date will be June 25, 2008.

well, given that the WWE is a pubically traded corporation, then i would hope
that its profits would be better.
the investors would demand nothing less.

Darth Mortis' statement is logical. WWE's a publicly traded company, OF COURSE
its profits we'll be better. And what do those two promotions have to do with
this anyway?

That's kinda a cool move on the part of the McMahon's. It doesn't mean they're
not going to still make a killing but it's still a cool move.

As far as I understand it it's not like it hurts them at all - the amount they
decline to take in dividends should go right back to cash for them to invest or
just to carry on the books. I mean, in reality, yes it helps the company and
it's a nice gesture, but it also benefits them one hell of a lot.
Of course, I'll just take my dividend and be happy. :)
