Right after returning to the locker room after last night's bout, one half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay Briscoe vacated the belts. We will have more information within 24 hours in the next ROHwrestling.com Newswire.

Well it kinda makes sense, since his tag team partner is injured.
I mean, would he really just keep letting random people tag with him, would Aries really be the replacement?
What about when Mark comes back?
It is interesting to see what could happen.
I'm thinking Steen and Generico will win them...

Wasn't one of them injured quite badly, though? In which case, this shouldn't be too big a surprise.

As confusing as naming Aries as replacement champ THEN vacating them goes, it at least meant that the Ballroom got it's title match and gave two AOTF enemies a decent excuse to unite outside of the usual 'common enemy' stuff. I think they've done the right thing on this occasion.

I understood the Aries thing, because it all tied into the whole Aries/AOTF/Briscoe angle thats been going on. Plus it kept the match together for one of the biggest shows of 2008. But even being the ROHbot that I am, Gabe made a mistake. They should have been vacated to begin with or had AOTF win them. I need you to lock it up Gabe, lock it up.

The biggest mistake we can make as fans is judging the situation before it fully plays out. More than likely we will be able to look back and say that Gabe should have done something else, but let's see what's to come.

Why does everyone think they know better than the people running the shows? Please, I'm positive that Gabe (and whoever else may be involved) considered all of their options before choosing which way to go. They have their reasons, and it's foolish to pass judgment on something that only happened hours ago. You can't judge the entirety of a story on the first chapter. Sheesh, people. Sit back and let things happen once in a while.

This don't make sense to me. If it wasn't vacated, so given title to any wrestler instead put a vacated cause it sound boring and who would be interst or watch R.O.H if it keep wait and vacated.

Maybe they underestimated Mark's injury, figured they could get away with a surrogate defence once, then realised it was going to be more long-term and that there was no point on keeping the belts on the Briscoes?

I would have liked to see Davey and Rocky hold onto the belts for longer anyway; there was no reason for the Briscoes to win that back so early. As for AOTF winning them last night, I think this Aries/Jacobs feud has too much potential to be wrapped up in tag matches. Jacobs is the best at blood feuds, and with the talent involved this time (don't get me wrong, BJ was a good wrestler, but he is no Austin Aries) it become fantastic. Give it time; there are plenty of solid tag teams now that could fight for the gold. It seems pretty obvious that Steenerico will take them fairly soon.

Hopefully steenerico will get a chance to be tag champs.I like AOTF but Steenerico deserves it more.
