Well it's no big surprise that the Benoit and Lesnar matches that were included in the unofficial match listing are gone.
Still, that's a pretty sweet set right there.

looks damn solid, I'll be sure to 'acquire'

Posted By: ayobmedz (Guest)  on May 13, 2008 at 09:55 PM

I'm surprised they kept booker and kurt's mathcheson there

This collection is made of WIN!!!

Posted By: natedoggcata (Guest)  on May 13, 2008 at 10:08 PM

I was freaking out for a second cuz I didn't see the Vengeance triple threat for a minute.

*sigh of relief*

They had to keep the Booker and Kurt matches to show how their guy is better than TNA's top talent.

Posted By: breakyourself (Guest)  on May 13, 2008 at 10:15 PM

It is looking pretty sweet, and as one of The Rock's biggest fans, I'm sure to buy it!

But I'm still a little surprised that they decided not to include the match The Rock had against Ric Flair - when The Rock was Undisputed Champion.

I'm glad to see the Royal Rumble '02 match against Jericho in there (a typo there, Rock was in the Rumble and Jericho was in a match with Benoit in '01). That's a supremely underrated match.

it's a shame his last match vs Evolution isn't on there. NOt his best match, but it is his last...

Posted By: Erick (Guest)  on May 13, 2008 at 10:39 PM

I don't see the infamous "I QUIT" match between he and Mankind.

Posted By: Sam (Guest)  on May 13, 2008 at 10:40 PM

lol, Hunter Versus Rock is twenty percent of the matches :P

Posted By: DumDum (Guest)  on May 13, 2008 at 10:50 PM

Oh man...get me a towel

Posted By: Kent Baker (Guest)  on May 13, 2008 at 10:53 PM

i am all over this dvd.

I wish that they would've included Rock/Austin from Mania X-Seven instead of their match from Mania XV, but that's a very minor complaint. I'm definately getting this.

Indeed. My favorite part? Ric Flair to the Rock: "I don't think so, motherfucker!" Great stuff, and the match was a lot of fun.

Everything I was hoping for BUT the damn Iron Man match with Trips. Will we ever get it?!

Posted By: A.G. Awesome (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 12:25 AM

great set but big mistake missing the I quit match with Mankind that is epic brutality

Posted By: OLYMPIC HERO (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 12:49 AM

I kinda wish they DIDN'T have the Wrestlemania X7 match on here. Great match but it's on like 18 different DVD's already.

Posted By: Kevin (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 12:55 AM

What are you talking about Kevin? The listing shows that the WM 17 match ISN'T on the set. The matches from WM 15 and 19 are...

Posted By: Kevin can't count. (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 01:14 AM

BOUGHT! I might even fish around online for The People's Champ DVD.

Posted By: Geoff (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 01:15 AM

I'm gonna buy this, but I'm not as excited as I thought I'd be. Roughly half of it is already available on DVD elsewhere. It's worth it for Backlash 00, No Way Out 01, the Raw stuff, and the promos. I understand why a lot of you are begging for Rumble and Mania matches (since they're great), but when you already have the anthologies...

Geoff: Definitely pick up People's Champ if you can find it. The documentary is pretty meh, but it has both the "Billy Gunn Talks to God" promo and the "Police Officers and Jelly Doughnuts" CLASSIC from the night after Austin was run over. In their entirety, along with about a dozen other great promos.

i believe i'll get this

Posted By: Guest#9333 (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 03:01 AM

Its a shame they're missing like 6 of Rock's better matches on here...Iron Man vs. Trips, Rock/Austin at X7, Rock/Foley I Quit (as well as the hilarious Halftime Heat follow-up), Rock/Benoit for the title (Judgment Day I think), Rock/Benoit II (when Benoit german suplexed him like 1000 times), and his final match (all just for Flair screaming "I don't think so mother fucker!").

With Trips and HBK using the crossface, I figured maybe they were getting over that shit...maybe they're waiting on the estate to settle that way they don't try to claim money on DVDs bearing his likeness post-mortum. Just a theory. Would make it damn near impossible to do a Jericho DVD without Benoit.

As Larry would say: MANY BUYS!

Posted By: Banz (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 04:03 AM

I would like to get the iron man match on the dvd but as the Rock lost the match i can see why they didnt put it on, maybe saying it for another Trip dvd in a few years time, since he did win the title in it.

Anyway im getting this, plenty of good matches & some great promos aswell.

Damn, that new Rock DVD set sounds hott! I'm glad that the has decided to include 15-20 Rock promo's on the set. Listening to all those classic lines is going to be awesome.

Posted By: Dwayne (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 04:48 AM

For some reason I can't ever remember Rock and Mankind having a ladder match.

Posted By: Dwayne (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 04:49 AM

I will be buying this on the first day it's released.

Posted By: MrMaye625 (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 06:27 AM

Yeah, the Wreslemania X7 match isn't on here. I was in Houston for that one and every time a new DVD comes out I am surprised at the lack of matches from the event. Also, it's hard to find the Wrestlemania X7 DVD itself out there. Anyone know why?

Posted By: Rick (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 08:05 AM

Where is the rock vs hhh at summerslam 98, that ladder match was awesome. for somebody who was a hell at the time, when the rock did the people's elbow on hhh on the ladder, the garden went nuts, lol

Posted By: Maurice (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 09:23 AM

Kinda lame, actually. Where are the promos? Where's his better matches with Mankind? (that ladder match was bad.) Serioulsy, Rock vs. Kane? Sigh. I guess the saddest thing is I'll end up buying it anyway.

Posted By: Crow (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 09:25 AM

Sigh... what is their fracking obsession with Rock/Austin from Wrestlemania XV? The only thing memorable about that match is how completely unremarkable and disappointing it was.

And I TOTALLY echo the pain of no Iron Man match or Halftime Heat. Dammit WWE, you really dropped the ball on this one.

BUT, on a more positive note, no "He Who Shall Not Be Named" = many buys from me!

i already have it.

Posted By: NickNitro (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 09:45 AM

This listing can bite me and like it. Where's the Triple H-Rock Ironman at Judgment Day? Of course I'm frustrated they choose not to include any Benoit matches but at least they couldn't duplicate matches. The Jericho/Rock match from that Rumble in on the anthology and probably as a stand alone. I'm almost positive the better match from 2001 No Mercy between Rock/Jericho isn't on anything. The triple threat between Rock, Undertaker and Angle is already on the History of the WWE Championship DVD. They easily could have included the underrated strap match between Triple H and Rock at Fully Loaded 99 or the tag match with Foley against Evolution.

Posted By: Jack (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM

what? no HHH vs. Rock Ladder Match at Summer Slam 98?

Posted By: Guest#3209 (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 10:14 AM

Please, this guy is WAY overrated.

Oh, let me see: Dwayne says a couple of funny lines on the mic while riding the coattails of some of wrestling's best in the ring.

The Rock's whole wrestling career was a sham. The Ultimate Warrior thinks this guy was a lame duck worker.

It's a shame they don't make VHS anymore as a crap-set like this would be best served as something to record over.

C'mon, did you guys see how H3 had to carry Johnson in that Iron Man match. Pathetic.

Seriously, 'E, it's time to release DVD's on the guys actually were worth a damn and were, I don't know, say , ENTERTAINING! Give us Macho, Perfect. Hell, even the late, great Boss Man would be better than this goof.
Oh, by the way, Big Show called. He said calling Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, is referring to Dwayne by his slave name.

Posted By: C. Jack Manson (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 12:00 PM

Yo Rick, in reference to your question about why Wrestlemania X-Seven is hard to find, anything that was released prior to the name change from WWF to WWE is going to be hard to find, because as I'm sure you know, anything with the WWF logo, they don't sell in the stores anymore. You'll have to get the hard to find items from great places like Ebay (which is where I personally go). I can't begin to tell why they don't include matches from WM X-Seven on other DVDs, as this show is still, to me and others, the greatest PPV ever.

Posted By: MrMaye625 (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 12:53 PM

Rock/Austin from X-7 isn't on there because they just put in on Austin's DVD that came out in Feb. It would be kind of pointless to put it on both and have them come out within a few months of each other.

Posted By: Brian (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 01:12 PM

"The Ultimate Warrior thinks this
guy was a lame duck worker."

You really think anything that guy says has credibility?

Posted By: Jase (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 01:27 PM

This dvd seems OK for what it is, but they did drop the ball on a few things. They should've put the triple threat cage match between him/foley/shamrock from Breakdown '98, Jericho/Rock from Vengeance '01, Rock/HHH Ladder match, Rock/HHH from Fully Loaded '98, but either way, the dvd is good enough

Nice set. Too bad most of it will be blurred or otherwise edited due to the whole WWF thing.
