Complete TNA Impact Taping Results (SPOILERS)
Posted by Larry Csonka on 05.13.2008

Credit: Alex Hernandez and PWInsider.com

Impact for 5/22:

- Homicide defeated Brother Ray by DQ. Brother Devon ran in to break it up. They started beating down Homicide until Hernandez ran in. Booker T then came out and Booker and 3D beat down LAX putting Homicide through a table and leaving both bleeding.

- Angelina Love defeated ODB with some help from Velvet Sky. Afterwards they teased they were going to cut ODB's hair until Roxxi made the save. Roxxi was going to try to cut Angelina's hair until the referee took the machine away from hair. Roxxi then laid out Rudy Charles.

- Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash come to the ring and Joe announces the 4 people he chose. (I was mistaken yesterday and it is not an 8 man King of the Mountain match, it will be 4 challengers and 8 were chosen to be in qualifying matches, sorry about the error) . Jim Cornette picked 4 and Joe gets to pick the other 4. Cornette picked Tomko, James Storm, Robert Roode, and Matt Morgan) Joe then announces his picks, a man he faced all over the world and in different companies, AJ Styles. He also picks Rhino, Christian Cage, and Booker T. Nash was upset that he wasn't picked since fans were chanting for him and he gives Joe a piece of his mind, then leaves the ring.

- King of the Mountain Qualifying Match: Robert Roode defeated Matt Morgan with his feet on the ropes.

- Kurt Angle comes to the ring and he brings out Karen to see if she will take him back. Angle says that now that Karen knows her role and priorities she should take him back. At one point Kurt asks if she is seeing AJ. Karen says that Kurt will never change and Kurt says he can change and gets on his knees and Karen walks out the ring leaving Angle.

- Jeremy Borash is in the ring and explains the rules of the King of the Mountain match. He is about to introduce the next qualifying match until Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed come out with a briefcase. They issue an open challenge to any female in the crowd who can beat Kong would get $25,000. A plant in the crowd is chosen her name is Melissa (I believe she is a student from Team 3D's school). Kong destroys her easily for the win.

- King of the Mountain Qualifying Match: Booker T defeated AJ Styles. Tomko made his way down to the ring during the match, and when AJ went for a springboard Tomko pulled him down allowing Booker to get the win. After the match, Tomko and AJ went at it. Team 3D ran in and they started to beat down AJ. Booker joined in as well. Karen Angle runs down screaming for them to stop as AJ is bleeding. She leaves when Brother Ray shoves her out the ring, only to return with Kurt Angle, who has a steel chair. They clear the ring while Karen is attending to AJ. Brother Ray is yelling at Kurt to turn around and when he does he see' sKaren and AJ. Kurt proceeds to blast AJ with the chair. They continue the beatdown and it ends with the 5 of them posing. I thought it was good with lots of heat.

Xplosion:

-The Motor City Machine Guns def. Black Reign and Rellik

Remind me again while the MCMG are being punished?

AJ jobbed out again. Can't you give AJ a break?Tomko was punished yet AJ had to do the job.seriously,i just want to see the AJ styles that made me a fan of tna,not the comedy aj styles.

Remember the last time a major player turned face due to a beatdown? It took Orton three years to get his niche back.

Posted By: Chris (Guest)  on May 13, 2008 at 11:47 PM

They wouldn't blade and have been critical of the booking a few months back.

Posted By: Guest#4414 (Guest)  on May 13, 2008 at 11:48 PM

AJ has slowly been turning face for a while now, it wasn't the beatdown that did it. This actually sounds pretty damn awesome.

"Remind me again while the MCMG are being punished?"

How exactly are they being punished when they wrestle LAX this week and win over the monster job team? If they were getting punished they would be jobbing to losers like Dustin Rhodes and Rellik. Maybe they'll feud with LAX after they get through the more established and major league 3D. But franky...

LAX >>>>>>>> MCMG

LAX is the best tag team in North America right now.

Face AJ is always fun though because he will do crazier moves as a face because when he's a heel he doesn't want the fans cheering for him, which is what doing the crazy moves causes

MCMG

Posted By: Peter (Guest)  on May 13, 2008 at 11:59 PM

MCMG already established
they were dominant over 3d months ago when they beat them in there own game of Hard Core matches before the whole X Division Sux Gimmick. I think the Gunns should be the TNA tag champs by now and hopefully will be in line soon enough to defeat LAX for the tag titles. I sure hope so......

They wouldn't blade...ok, that's a bit of a wuss job, I'll admit. They questioned the booking...um, WHO HASN'T?!?

kurt/karen/aj....they're just re-hashing the infamous hhh/stephanie/kurt storyline from back in the day

Its so good of AJ Styles to put over that up and comer Booker T. That guy is gonna be someone...maybe even King someday.

You have to be kidding me. I am speechless. Did you not read that this was part of the huge Kurt/Karen/AJ angle? He jobbed? What the hell! This is part of the angle that turns AJ face and either makes or breaks him as a major player. AJ is not a comdey figure anymore because of this angle and he can't be in the KOTM match because his storyline is with Kurt and Karen. If you can't follow this than maybe wrestling isn't for you.

Actually Abyss turned face last year with nearly exact same "beating"

If this leads to an Angle/Styles match, I'm sold. Good job, TNA, for not making me hate you.

"Remind me again while the MCMG are being punished?"

Because they refused to do a blade job a few PPV's backduring the "fight for the X division" and have been in the dog house ever since.

Kong open challenge?

Seems like a great way to introduce Sara Del Rey to TNA, if you ask me.

It was hilarious to see everyone bitching yesterday. "OMG 8 MAN KOTM MATCH!!! CLUSTERFUCK TNA SUX!!!!" I knew that it couldn't be right and what do you know, it was an error sent in by a reader. Good going Vince Lovers. It's gonna be a great PPV unlike Judgement Day or whatever generic pos WWE runs these days.

Too bad AJ won't be in KOTM, but if it leads to an Angle vs. AJ match on PPV, then that sounds good to me.

Posted By: Dan (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 01:22 AM

Well so far I only have 2 problems with Slammiversary Problem #1 couldn't we have done the wedding angle on IMPACT or Something but maybe the Lethal and Dutt feud will finally kick off now I just wonder if Dutt will put a snake in one of the gifts and adopt a Jake Roberts gimmick
and they will have a parody of the Savage Jake Roberts feud lol
Problem # 2 There won't be a high flyer in the KOTM MATCH AJ would have been great but there putting him in a feud with ANGLE and thats okay im up for anbything that puts AJ back in th main event where he belongs. So to counter this fact they could use Christian Cage's ladder match experience and i guess he will be the one doing the high risk stuff in this match also Rhino or Storm could be in there for the Crazy hardcore stuff. and they can do some innovative spots. but I would much rather see James Storm in the main event than Cage or RHINO but my guess is the qualifiers will be cage beating rhino to get in and if there smart about this AJ costing TOMKO a qualifying match against Storm to get payback on TOMKO
But the card does look really good so far
King Of The Mountain
AJ Styles VS Kurt Angle
And Kaz VS Petey Williams For The X Division Title

Sabin and Shelley just aren't happy...we saw the recently at a UWF show and they said they were getting "sick of the bullshit" in TNA. Frankly, I'm with them.

The whole blade job thing is stupid. Call them wusses or whatever, but blading is a real science...one centimeter off with the cut could cause a gusher or disfigurement (look at Flair, Dusty, or Corino's foreheads to show what years of blading can do). So yeah, fully understand.

As for their so called "push," we don't get to see it cause they only win on XPlosion, which is seen by like 6 people.

Nice to see AJ Styles Vs. Kurt Angle happen, despite they are fighting over Karen Angle. And we know Karen will be involved in the match.
Im just waiting for her to turn on AJ on the PPV after this or something, SWERVE!

Posted By: Spike (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 05:24 AM

Well after one of the worst PPV's ever the 2 Impacts after actually look pretty decent. Let's hope AJ is returned to his former brilliant self and we get a half decent Slammiversary.

Posted By: Col (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 05:26 AM

Dude one centimetere off does NOT cause permanent damage. Blading against the flow of your skion or blading way do deep cause massive scars. Look at HHH, the guy blades at everything and where are his huge scars? HBK has a massive scar because he bladed in mid air and down instead of sideways.

Simple fact is, Sabin and Shelley can piss off. They were put in a huge fued. The biggest of their short careers. They were supposed to go over clean. The writers wanted them to blade for more of an effect and they said no. They were being given a great chance and all they had to do was blade. Something 99% of all wrestlers do.

Look at it this way, if at you job your boss was going to give you a huge promotion and all you had to do was stay a few hours extra one day and you told him no way in hell, would you still expect that raise? Would you except him to NOT punish you?

The MCMG are being punished and they only have themselfs to blame. Blading is a part of wrestling. Its just as much a part of wrestling as steel chairs and tables are. Here's the fact's- HHH,Taker,Angle,AJ,James Storm,Austin,Jarrett,Nash,Sting,Daniels,Rhino and numerous others have bladed and not ended up a garbage face. Blading is not a freakin science. Its not like rocket science. Cut across your forehead, deep enough for blood but not to the bone.

MCMG deserve this for being pussies.

Posted By: Havok (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 05:40 AM

Not every loss is a "job" If AJ lost clean, then maybe, it would be, but there is Tomko interference, so it seems it is launching the long overdue fued between AJ and Tomko.

Posted By: The Phenomonal RJ Styles (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 05:59 AM

I'm surprised they didn't have Karen turn on AJ, as well. It'll probably happen, though. Shame he's not in the King of the Mountain match, but I guess they knew since he wasn't winning that a match with Kurt Angle's probably better for him. Nice to see Robert Roode getting a chance instead.

Posted By: T.G. Corke (Registered)  on May 14, 2008 at 06:13 AM

Fuckin AJ gets "Berried" again, I like Booker but does he really need to be protected this late in his career?? AJ was the poster boy for the company 2002-05, a multi time triple crown champ and the guy that TNA should be built around.

NWA/WcW had Flair vs Steamboat and later Flair vs Sting.

WW(F)E had HBK vs Bret and later Austin vs McMahon & Austin vs Rock. Companies are built around great feuds and TNA should be building itself on Joe vs AJ.

Posted By: Angry_Stoner (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 06:18 AM

Sounds like another good week of Impact. No over the top gimmicks and lots of build to the PPV. And as much as everyone bitches about AJ not being in the KOTM match, we all knew he was most likely going to face Angle at Slammiversary anyways, how can you go wrong with that?

Posted By: Huzzah! (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 07:25 AM

The card for Slammiversary sounds amazing so far, in my opinion.

Posted By: Huzzah! (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 07:27 AM

Dangerous or not, if your boss is paying you to do a job, you do it. Blading is a part of pro wrestling, it has been and always will be. Do I think TNA management have taken this punishment too far? Yes, of course. But the MCMG should have known better. It reeks of a lack of professionalism on both sides.

I'm hardly a Vince lover, dickfart, and I thought it was strange about the 9-man. But considering the overbooked crap that has been hogging an otherwise decent TNA product, it wouldn't have surprised me.

Good booking so far. Two heels in the KOTM puts more face heat on Joe, AJ doesn't look like a bitch after losing via interference and it makes sense because it'll lead to AJ vs. Kurt Angle. Find it a little strange that Sting hasn't been considered for KOTM, but it's only a minor thing

Psssst Ramsey if I was one of the Guns and the reward for blading was a career like Flair or Dusty guess what? I'D DO IT! HAVE MERCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

AJ face turn gets a big thumbs up... hopefully he can turn all of that promo work he learned during his comedy stint and turn it into intensity. At least we can look forward to AJ using his complete moveset again.

Posted By: Guest#1297 (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 01:26 PM

WTF is wrong with some of you? Just because AJ lost doesn't mean he got jobbed out or buried. Did you not read that he was beatdown by 5 people after he lost? 5 people that he's had a close affiliation with over the past few months. To me, that equals a face turn and feud that could make AJ relevant again. In terms of in ring work, this will be great since AJ won't have to play "the chickenshit insane spot guy" role anymore. He can go back to working matches and doing his crazy athletic shit. Tell me how this is a bad thing or weakens AJ?

Posted By: Guest#5364 (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 01:35 PM

Sweet give AJ the belt as soon as you can, I hate Joe not because of his size but because is finishing move is a sleeper hold yay thats exciting call what ever u like its a sleeper hold.
I wonder if jarrett taking more of an interest in the booking has led to AJ being on the rise again

Posted By: Rob (Guest)  on May 14, 2008 at 02:18 PM

can everyone stop whining about Aj jobbing it was to a fellow top guy and it sets up the angle feud, and they're building like it or not the booker-joe feud so stop complaining.

Also to those who can't stop whining about the knockoff of HHH/Stephanie/Angle I hate to break it to you that wasn't the first love triangle, and really looking at the angles the only similarity is kurt was involved in both. Totally different backgrounds going on here.

WHAT?!?!?
AJ LOST TO FREAKING BOOKER T?!?!?!?
i have lost all faith in TNA now.

the last few shows are really awesome. If they could continue with this I believe we could probably expect wwe vs tna soon. Good luck TNA. Please dont screw up this time

Posted By: Nash_t (Registered)  on May 14, 2008 at 05:38 PM

WHAT THE FUCK?!!!

I MEAN SERIOUSLY... WHAT??!!

AJ Styles lost to Booker T... clean?! Fuckin' clean?! This is shit, Styles is much more talented than Booker T or any other WWE hasbeen.

Shit, I'm so fuckin furious now. I mean, fuck, they could have done a run in or something, but no, they had to do it CLEAN... shit, TNA is lost, I hope they die and rot in hell.

because apparently some of you can't read AJ didn't job cleanly Tomko cost him the match so shut up please! I know you want to believe WWE is the only one who does good shows but you need to get at least your facts right.
