How is Paul Heyman or Mideon or Right to Censor bad gimmicks? I thought Right to Censor was pretty funny and Mideon looked like UnderTaker's twin back in the day,i thought that was cool, and what the hell Paul Heyman how in the Blue Hell is that a Bad Gimmick?

LOL @ putting Paul Heyman there but not John Cena's rapper gimmick or The Goon.

Posted By: Malice666 (Registered)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:13 PM

How are some of these annoying? Some are bad but I didn't think Shockmaster was annoying just ridiculous.

Posted By: Kent Baker (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:13 PM

It's not the worst gimmicks, it's the most annoying gimmicks.

Posted By: Mike (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:14 PM

Consider the source...

Posted By: MydniteSon (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:14 PM

To What?

The list charts ANNOYING gimmicks not bad ones. i.e. gimmicks where were designed to annoy.

*sigh*

I miss the Spirit Squad :(

Posted By: Private Sticky (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:15 PM

No bastion Booger? No doink, No Triple H?

Posted By: pee on (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:15 PM

It's not bad gimmicks it's annoying gimmicks. RTC and Heyman were damn annoying..

Posted By: AVcK (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:15 PM

For managers, they can be annoying in an intentional way that generates heat. The Shockmaster was annoying because he looked really stupid (worst costume ever?) and fell over through a wall on his debut, loosing his helmet and was annoying because he was a waste of space rather then anything intentional.

Brother Love was annoying in both ways. Lol. All I can say is it's a damn good thing that he handed the Undertaker over to Paul Bearer.

Right to Censor and Dungeon of Doom did their job and I wouldn't say either were the most annoying heel stable around.

Mantaur. Lol.

Posted By: Fenris (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:18 PM

You'll notice, if you read, it says "Most Annoying Gimmicks", not "worst Gimmicks."

Something can be annoying and still be good.

Though I definitely feel announcer Jerry Lawler should be in there. Yes, Jerry, we get it, women have breasts and you like said breasts.

Posted By: StereotypeA (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:18 PM

It doesnt say bad gimmicks it just says annoying gimmicks.RTC got so much heat because there antics annoyed the fans.

Posted By: Ross (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:18 PM

No Disco Inferno on this list. See, Disco Inferno was a GREAT gimmick. Raven and Glen are GENIUSES!

Posted By: Disco> j00(2 lazy 2 sign in) (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:18 PM

Gertner was far from annoying, as was Alphanso.

Posted By: CMG (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:18 PM

It's not "bad" gimmick. It's ANNOYING gimmick.

Posted By: Guest#0052 (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:19 PM

do they not remember Kurt Angle as a wannabe hero who couldn't not be condescending. those dorky phases of Angle's were super annoying.
Like right before the Invasion his skits with Stone Cold and McMahon backstage, man that dude was a Loser!

Posted By: Davis (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:20 PM

Where is John Cena

Posted By: steve0 (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:20 PM

What, no Muffy?

Posted By: Axxonn (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:22 PM

Where's Bastion Booger? Or Just Joe? Just Joe pissed me off SO much. But that was Heat.

Posted By: T.G. Corke (Registered)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:26 PM

Naked Mideon was more annoying than regular Mideon

Posted By: Guest#0145 (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:34 PM

All Hail Mantaur!!!!

Posted By: Big Joey Johnson (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:37 PM

where the fuck is MEAT? that clown that used to come out with the chicks and had kisses all over him. That was the worst!

Posted By: NickNitro (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:43 PM

at this point, having read the posts thus far, i would have to say that #1 should be changed to 'annoying illiterate smarks who don't know the difference between 'bad' and 'annoying''

Posted By: Darth Mortis (Registered)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:44 PM

Did someone finally tell WWE.com about Wrestlecrap.com ?

Posted By: timmy (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:47 PM

WOW! The ultimate Fuck You to Paul Heyman

Posted By: natedoggcata (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:54 PM

"It's not "bad" gimmick. It's ANNOYING gimmick."

Then why does the list include both "bad" gimmicks (Mantaur, Shockmaster, etc.) that just plain sucked and "annoying" gimmicks (Hart, Right to Censor) that were good but bugged the hell out of us?

Posted By: fellaone (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 02:55 PM

It seems to be a mix of both "bad" and "annoying". Notice the shot at Marc Mero, a former WWE star who spoke out against performance-enhancing drugs. That's the only reason WWE put him on the list IMO.

Posted By: Ben (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:01 PM

Where the hell is X-Pac, Jeff Jarrett (when he first came to the WWF) and Made in the USA Lex Luger.

Posted By: Edwin Krapf (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:07 PM

Shockmaster, really half the people who read this won't even know who he is

Posted By: Guest#4106 (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:10 PM

Repo Man is #8.

BLASPHEMY!

Posted By: Kevin F. (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:33 PM

Right to Censor was gold and Dungeon of Doom wasn't actually that annoying.

Posted By: Guest#6028 (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:34 PM

I fail to see how "Battle Kat" is annoying.

Posted By: Guest#4290 (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:42 PM

What was so annoying about Joel Gertner? Even when he was with the Dudleys I thought he was pretty funny.

Posted By: BringTheNoise (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:44 PM

I agree where is the 123 Kid? Or Bon Sparkplug Holly? Why the hell is Aldo Montoya up there? HE WAS THE BEST!!! Portugese Man O' War!!! Pure Gold!

Posted By: J-X Boxer (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:45 PM

The only thing that could be annoying about Alphonso was that damn whistle....But I always thought it was funny, looked like he was training dolphins with the way he mood his head too.

Posted By: PaRappa the Rapper (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:50 PM

I was hoping to post something about how it's a list of "annoying" gimmicks, not bad ones, but 57 people decided to say it before I could get a chance to. Good thing all those people did it, at least.

Posted By: Paul (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:53 PM

Having Marc Mero on the list is just ridiculous, and if you look at his entry on WWE.com it's clear they are just having a go at him. He never really had a gimmick when he was known as the Wildman he was just a normal wrestler, The Wildman was just a nickname. It's like putting Bret Hart on the list because he has The Hitman as a nickname and people might think he has an Assassin gimmick.

Beside where's the saying your name twice and that been all you've got to offer gimmick.

Posted By: Prenshaw (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:54 PM

Ok, if this is the most annoying ever, then how is Honky Tonk Man not near the top???

Posted By: Dan (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 03:56 PM

Of all people Playboy Buddy Rose made the list

Posted By: Dwayne (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 04:09 PM

Bushwhackers? Hellooooooooooo????

Posted By: FUZEY (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 04:13 PM

where is Mr. America, that lame gimmick Hogan had for a while. And where is King Booker, he is the sole reason i stopped watching wrestling

Posted By: nelly (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 04:15 PM

some more annoying gimmicks was when chavo played carwon white and let see the globbey gucker that was great perry saturn with moppy head cheese, rhe headbangers, puke aka droz,to some this was annoying to me genius on hayman the bwo, princess romeo in wcw.threec count with tank abbot

Posted By: jeff (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 04:22 PM

Paul Heyman and Jimmy Hart? That right there tells you its a shitty list, both of those guys drew money, especially Jimmy Hart.

Posted By: The Man (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 04:33 PM

Bill Alphono's whistle was easily the most annoying thing ever. Come to think of it, RVD's ECW stalling was pretty annoying too.

Actually, #1 should be any promo by Stephanie McMahon from 2000 and on. The McMahon-Helmsley era was change-the-channel-annoying and pretty much ended the attitude boom.

Posted By: Guest-0 (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 04:36 PM

I can't believe NO ONE mentioned Kevin Nash is....OZ

let's take K-Nash and put him in a wizard hat and give him some midgets...funny, but definitely annoying.

Posted By: Keebler (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 04:53 PM

How is The Mountie not on the list?

Posted By: Guest#1941 (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 04:55 PM

Heidenreich? Battle Kat? Aldo Montoya? Marc Mero? Repo Man? The Shockmaster? Vinnie Vegas? How are these ANNOYING gimmicks? They were just wrestlers who either had stupid gimmicks or no gimmick at all. This list fails on many levels.

Number one should be Triple H. Remember his half hour promos at the start of every Raw for the entire year of 2003 and half of 2004? Oh god, someone should please just shoot me.

Posted By: Epic Fail. (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 05:02 PM

Bill Alfonzo deserves a top 3 spots for having 2 annoying gimmicks in the span of a few years. First he was the annoying representative of the athletic commission (the good, heat drawing kind of annoying) and then he got that damn whistle. It still hurts to go back and watch RVD matches from the day and knowing the whistle is going to be going for 20 minutes straight.

Posted By: Ed (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 05:18 PM

Where am I? WWE STUPID DOT COM. How dare you disrespect me by not putting me on the list of the most annoyed characters in wrestling history! I'm very annoyed with Rodney the Piper! And in two weeks, I'm going to lose to a D list celebrity because I had a few too many with Kevin The Vampire! MAMA MIA!

Posted By: Santino Marella! (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 05:51 PM

"The McMahon-Helmsley era was change-the-channel-annoying and pretty much ended the
attitude boom."

Actually, the McMahon-Helmsley was doing 5.0s and 6.0s in the ratings (with Austin off TV, too), and PPV buyrates were great in 2000 as well.

I guess you're in the minority.

Posted By: Guest#4656 (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 05:56 PM

Guess I need a better understanding of "annoying". Because they were way off the mark.

Dynamic Dudes
Dean Douglas

Posted By: Al (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 06:25 PM

Fonzie should be alot higher, his gimmick as the Athletic Commision rep. got MAJOR heat (the "good" type of heat) I remember when he DQ'd Dreamer in ECW for using a closed fist! Also Jim Cornette back in the early 1980's when he was a chickenshit momma's boy heel manager, he generated SO much heat in some towns he needed a police escort to get out of the area and back to the hotel in one piece.

Posted By: Angry_Stoner (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 06:34 PM

Wow... someone want to explain to me how the Red Rooster didn't make it onto this list?

Posted By: A-Ron (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 06:57 PM

Where is Hornswaggle? Or Paul Burchill the Pirate? Or Hacksaw Jim Duggan? (don't get me wrong, i respect Duggan, just sick of him and his 2x4)

Posted By: Jordan (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 07:12 PM

Hey! I resent that I made the list!!

Seriously -- it looks like the WWE.com folks mixed up their own "annoying" list with "worst" gimmicks too.

PMS, BattleKat and Max Moon didn't really do anything "annoying" Hell, they didn't even really talk!

I would've put Stephanie McMahon, Johnny Polo and "any WWE Diva when they speak or "act.""

Seriously, next time the Divas are "acting" back stage, just count the number of times they open a sentence up with the phrase, "I mean..."

"I mean, we should have a match tonight. I mean, seriously... we should wrestle. I mean, I just had sex with half the locker room. I mean, where's the ring again?"

Wasn't Regal known as Steven Regal at the time?

Posted By: z86 (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 07:57 PM

Since WWE loves trashing ex employees, why not throw Simon Dean in there? Or Lita's promos? VINCE MCMAHON??? I Know that he's not an ex employee but god he is annoying.

Posted By: James (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 08:14 PM

and LMAO at brother love's imitation of divas

Posted By: James (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 08:15 PM

Earth to commenters, this is a WWE-made list. Anyone expecting anything remotely comprehensive has been drinking the Kool Aid waaaaay too much.

sounds like a shoot to me!

You want annoying I got to words for ya...Red Rooster! How come they didn't list that shit gimmick # 1

Posted By: Dr Lickalotapus (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 09:13 PM

Jimmy Hart?! Annoying but awesome! And I always loved Justin... er, Aldo Montoya!

Still, it's a good list.

Posted By: Sam (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 11:09 PM

How about "the king of kings" gimmick - that shit right there has annoyed the piss outta me for 5 years now...

Posted By: Chilly McFreeze (Guest)  on May 26, 2008 at 11:51 PM

where is doink?

Posted By: cj (Guest)  on May 27, 2008 at 12:25 AM

"Boy has this show sucked without us or what?" Paul Heyman said that and is now ranked 2.

Joel Gertner? I thought he was awesome man. If he was on Raw or something now.....I can just imagine it.

"Well...well...well. Here we are on Raw. Which is how I like to take the ladies. It is I, the quintessential stud muffin, Joel, Whether I'm with Maria or Beth Phoenix. I make the women wetter than Pinocchio's kleenex...Gertner!"

"how is Cryme Time not on the list "

because you can't say anything about black people who currently work for the WWE anymore.

the last thing anyone wants is big, fat, ugly, sweaty Mark Henry crying like a pussy about 'racism' again.

Posted By: Darth Mortis (Registered)  on May 27, 2008 at 09:57 AM

Gertner was the shit.

ROFL @ Glacier. Man he was good.

RTC did so well for such a lower-card stable. Crazy heat.
