The Rock is dead . . . long live Dwayne Johnson.

Brian Knobbs and Ed Leslie are the trainers?!?!?! What the hell can those guys teach anybody anything about wrestling? Maybe they'll teach them how to kiss Hogan's ass or grow a really sweet mullet.

Knobbs and Beefacke are trainers? That's like putting Brian Dennehey is charge of workouts on Celebrity Fit Club.

Heyman craps on the NWA - no surprises there! Did WWE have the right to pull Flair from the show? Duh! Of course, they did, he's a contracted employee. Nobody is disputing that. Doesn't change the fact that it is "slang for bull excrement."

Man, from the title I thought The Rock's new film was to be a remake of E.T. damn you 411, you shattered my dreams!

So We're going to have a bunch of has beens and never beens, (who already are probably suffering the affects of age and are not likely in great shape) who'll be taught to wrestle by Brutus Beefcake and Brian Knobbs (who while passable were never technical experts). and we'll have Eric Bischoff, (The Man who decided Steve Austin and Chris Jericho wern't worth a push) be a judge of wrestling talent!
whats amazing is by not-really-a-celebrity reality show standards this is very high quality.
And clearly EW is not pro-prowresting, Dropping weight in Dwanye Johnson's sense means letting himself go. Here's what I don't get, He doesn't want to wrestle anymore, fine he had a good run and should be free to persue other interests. but now he's letting himself get out of shape so he doesn't get type-cast in action roles. What kind of movies does he think his former fans watch! Dude The Millions and Millions of Rock fans primarialy consisted of dudes, guys who like violence! we'll go to some comedies, but action movies are where Rock was most marketable. now he's robbed us of that. I'm losing my love for him very fast.

Oh CRAP! Shad They know we took OVW's shit!

Davis: I don't know what kind of fucked up universe you live in where "dropping weight" equals "getting out of shape." Drop the donut, for the love of God.

Just a side note: Scott Hall may be taking bookings but I see nothing stated that he's guaranteed to show up for them.

"we'll have Eric Bischoff, (The Man who decided Steve Austin and

Keep in mind if it wasn't for that guy, you'd still be watching a 1 hour pre-taped WWE show every monday night full of squash matches and garbage men.

rodman is going to give bonadueche the pitstop, and then another contestant can cut his hair

hogan's show should have a parental advisory warning. "the following show can cause brain hemorrhaging due to massive amounts of sucking."

people wonder why dwayne johnson has been distancing himself from wrestling. well just read the last news item and the train wreck that show will be.

Guest #8051, I don't think your brilliance was truly appreciated.
Nicely done.

I believe the reason Rock's size and weight when down after wrestling was he stop the cycles of roids.
Posted By: Obvious (Guest) on June 06, 2008 at 09:11 PM
w00t?!? Knobbs and Beefcake got ANOTHER job thanks to kissing Hogan's ass?!?! Who would've thought that! SURPRISINGLY SHOCKING!
Posted By: Randy Savage (Guest) on June 06, 2008 at 09:12 PM
even if he drops it he will always be rock
Posted By: none (Guest) on June 06, 2008 at 09:16 PM
How did I know that Hogan and Bischoff would be the ones to set wrestling back 25 years with this trainwreck in the making.
I COULD have accepted Knobbs and Leslie as judges or even ASSISTANT trainers. However given the fact that Leslie was passable at best during his career and Knobbs is just fn Knobbs, I HONESTLY fear for the safety of those celebrities. Knobbs cant walk without a cane and he's going to be TEACHING?

MP when your 225 pounds of near solid muscle, dropping weight means you'll have to lose that muscle. allowing your physique to decline is also known as letting yourself get out of shape.
and Kliq316, I think you're thinking of Russo as the man who changed the way gimmicks worked and got rid of constant squash matches.
Posted By: Davis (Guest) on June 06, 2008 at 11:30 PM
The Rock = David Caruso
Posted By: MP (Guest) on June 07, 2008 at 12:09 AM
$100 says Hogan gets hit on the knee with a crowbar and it turns out to be Brutus Beefcake who did it. Later on Paul Leveque jobs to Alex Wright ... no wait sorry that was Starrcade 94 ... SORRY

While on the surface getting rid of the constant squash matches sounds good, but lately I've seen people pine for that stuff, because it would keep the matches for the PPV's fresher and more desirable rather then getting the complaints of same old, same old. Plus there are still constant squash matches, it's just now you have the likes of Supercrazy and Nunzio doing the jobbing, which is just sad. Personally I'm not pining for a return to "Superstars of Jobbing", but I see their point. It's not all roses.
I'm not a big fan of Duane the actor. He's okay, but I can't see him top of the A list in the future. He does seem to be going with an approach that means he will loose a lot of his old fans while trying to gain new ones. Bit of a gamble, but I still reckon even if he took a dump on a tape of his old matches and claimed people that watch wrestling are loosers and turned into a scrawny muscle-less geek you'd still get about 50% of his old fans tune in. So it probably isn't that much of a gamble.

Agreed Fernis, but if Rock came back people would enjoy it because the guy's entertaining. He could come out and talk about what he ate for lunch and it would be more interesting then a 15 minute Triple H/Orton/JBL/Cena promo. promo.

Davis, today's action movies, for good or ill, no longer feature muscle bound heroes. Catch up please.
Posted By: Dr Domino (Guest) on June 07, 2008 at 05:50 AM
Um Davis,
Do you know Darth Mortis?
Also, how can you give credit to Vince Russo for ANYTHING.
It was Bischoff that forced Vince to go in a different direction and it was the Clash of Champions that started the end of the squash match on free tv.
Vince Russo, while being a decent story teller (sort of) was not the great mind everyone thought he was.
All WWE did was steal ECW's stuff and try to do it on a grander stage.
VIVA WCW!

Dude I'm just a wrestling fan, I try to get my wrestling history, but I've just been into wrestling for the past 2 years, I'm hardly knowelgabe on everything that's gone on.
and dude, seriously, Davis is Stupid, sure. Davis is a noob, sure. Davis is a McMahon sheep, sure. Davis is ignorant, sure. but I'm gay?
Last time I checked, being gay had more to do with what you like to put where then how much you know about professional wrestling. So clearly your a homophobe and a jackass for assuming everybody who doesn't know as much as you is gay.
Next, Davis is black because he thinks Shelton Benjamin deserves a push and enjoys Fried Chicken.
Seriously, leave your issues at home and just insult my stupidity. my lifstyle with your daddy is non of your buisness.
Posted By: Davis (Guest) on June 07, 2008 at 04:47 PM
davis, you don't have to get out of shape to lose muscle mass. the easiest way is to run. running makes your muscles smaller so that your body is lighter.
