More WWE News: Randy Orton Update, Changes To Tonight's RAW Giveaways
Posted by Ashish on 06.23.2008

- Randy Orton is pushing to return by mid-August. The pain in his collarbone is gone and he is using a machine that gives the break site a direct pulse from an electromagnet and helps regenerate bone growth for a speedy recovery. [WrestlingObserver.com]

- WWE has changed the money giveaway plan for RAW tonight. There will now be five $100,000 prizes and one $500,000 prize. The original plan was to increase the number of prizes since RAW is three hours tonight. [PWInsider.com]

Wow, Orton really is pushing for a "Speedy Recovery." He better be careful about those. The last time I heard that term was Rey Mysterio.

Just last week, it was reported that Randy's injury was worse than expected.
So which is true?

"using a machine that gives the break site a direct pulse from an electromagnet and helps regenerate bone growth for a speedy recovery."

Worked for Dr. Frankenstein.

Why can't the Jumping Bean Rey Mysterio rehab like this champ?

Good news for Randy. Orton is the shit, i love his snake-like attitude and rhythm he's developed. He's gonna be a huge star for years to come.

Both of these are good. This means 6 Million Dollar Bullshit segments tonight instead of the planned 12, and I'm glad Orton's recovery is going well. I heard it would take longer than originally planned and feared the worst, but if it's already stopped hurting then that's good. I just hope he doesn't pull an Angle and rush back too soon.

I'm not a big Orton fan, but the teaming of him and Batista made me intrigued. So hopefully this speedy recovery is for the best.

Well good to see they're not going to do that stupid $1 prize.

Posted By: TonySmark (Guest)  on June 23, 2008 at 04:05 PM

So is Orton doing an Iron Man gimmick?

Posted By: Joe (Guest)  on June 23, 2008 at 04:10 PM

Wait, wasn't Orton pushing for time off due to "burnout" right before he broke his collarbone? What's changed in the past couple of weeks?

Posted By: smithy84 (Guest)  on June 23, 2008 at 04:11 PM

I know the giveaway is stupid... but you all know that you'd change your tune INSTANTLY if you won :-P

vince not giving away a $2 prize tonight = epic fail!

Ashish took this newsbit from the daily update from the Observer and apparently Orton was mad at the report of his injury being worse than expected and issued this statement to clear things up.

oh man i hope orton gets back soon. i dont know how i can survive without his incredibly entertaining matches and ground breaking promos.

Does "Wellness" test for abnormally high levels of magnetic resonance? WHAT . . . ? I'm just sayin . . . the guy is using something the body doesn produce on it's own to promote growth/healing . . . WELLNESS!!!

Neat technology! Orton is bionic!
Mr. Injury in the Bank- Mysterio needs this stuff, ditto Batista.

Posted By: FUZEY (Guest)  on June 23, 2008 at 04:48 PM

I know the two injuries were totally different but I wonder if that's the kind of technology Cena used to return so fast. It's like he never even got injured at all.

Posted By: CallerNo9 (Guest)  on June 23, 2008 at 05:04 PM

Yeah I'm glad to see no one is going to be have to be the one who won $1.

Posted By: Paul (Guest)  on June 23, 2008 at 05:16 PM

Thats some interesting medical technology.

Another good piece of news...no CRAP $1 giveaway. I understand taking time to give away the big dollars, but the chunk change giveaways are a meaningless waste of time.

Posted By: Ricky (Guest)  on June 23, 2008 at 05:25 PM

WWE obviously got rid of the crap $1 & $16 dollar prizes because of the fall-out.

"I'm Vince, I'm rich. You're not. You are also stupid, because you watch this crap 2-3 times a week and all you have to show for it is this stupid comment!"

I wonder if Donald trump is registered. That would make, for a great call :-)

I'm with you. I just hope the best doesn't lead to another "ONE NIGHT ONLY" DX get together

Randy Orton posted something on Orton-Forum.com (yes he's a verified member there) saying how he is surprised that the IWC knows more about his health than he does. He stated that he isn't in pain anymore and that he'd return in mid-august. Metzler last week posted bad info...

I actually used one of these devices for a spinal injury I suffered. I had to wear it around the waist twice a day for 8 hours and you don't feel a thing. But you do look like a reject superhero from Mystery Men with that "tool"belt around you.
