More WWE News: WMXXV Press Conference, JR/Cole Video, Batista Update, More
Posted by Ashish on 06.24.2008
Even more Tuesday news!
- Nothing of note happened at the WrestleMania XXV press conference in Houston, TX today. Wrestlers just cut basic promos and no news was covered. Vince McMahon didn't appear before the crowd, but was behind the curtain.
- Batista and Edge are fine after hitting heads last night. Batista did need a few stitches. [WrestlingObserver.com]
- Some local media in Houston reported the Vince McMahon RAW incident as if it was real.
- WWE.com has a video up from after RAW where they talk to Michael Cole and Jim Ross about switching brands. Check out the video here.
for some reason WWE's video player does not work on my computer, :-(

Dear Vince McMahon,
PUT JIM ROSS BACK ON RAW. Switching announcers doesn't increase ratings. Stupid stunts don't increase ratings. We want to see Wrestling. Wreslting. Wrestling. Wrestling. Wrestling.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Chico

You said it right there announcers don't increase the ratings. I like the switch, JR and Foley will be pretty good I think. And now hopefully Lawler gets to be the announcer he was when McMahon was still announcing, just a good heel who was always getting the one liners in on Vince. He could have a field day with Cole. And who cares about ECW. Sucks for Matt Hardy.

Chico, if you want to see wrestling so bad why are you worried about the announcers?

Wreslting, eh? Well that sounds pretty new and interesting, Chico.

It's times like these that I love ROH a little more.

you guys are forgetting one thing.vince has said before...controversy creates cash.he loooves! controversy.therefore by switching ross and cole people are definitely going to be talking about it.because nobody expected it to happen.same goes for hhh.but who is he trying to fool.we all know he is going to stay on raw.he thinks that by doing this the ratings are going to go through the roof!!

Dear Chico,
Thank you for the input. It alway's makes me laugh that dumb internet fans, like yourself think you know what you want more then I do, the great Vince McMahon. Now go take your parents credit card because I know you don't have any of your own money and buy a ton of stuff off wweshopzone.com.
Thank You.
From Your Hero,
Vince McMahon.

"vince has said before...controversy
creates cash."
I thought Eric Bischoff said that...

The more I read about JR being so angry and see him looking p'd off, the more I think that it is a work, and he is just going to end up a heel commentator to Foley's face colour analyst.

Um, good question. Ross is a good announcer and he should stay on Raw. I was responding to what I saw last night and that was announcers being drafted instead wrestling matches.

JR was the voice of raw of course hes upset! wrestling personalities do have legit emotions, this is obviously one of them

Mr McMahon,
You of all people should know that your online store is just WWEshop.com now, no 'zone' anymore. Then again, you can barely work a telephone so why would I expect you to know anything about the internet!

Chico - wrestling doesn't mean ratings.
Posted By: Chico Jr (Guest) on June 24, 2008 at 07:54 PM
I don't really perceive Ross as the voice of RAW. When I watched Raw, Vince McMahon was the play by play guy. (ugh)
Anyway, It's not as if Cole has never done RAW before.

Wrestling really doesn't equal ratings, Chico. Storylines actually do increase ratings more, contrary to what you think.

Eric Bischoff was indeed the person to coin the phrase contraversy creates cash. It is the title of his book.

"And who
cares about ECW. Sucks for Matt Hardy"
The answer is those of us that have come to realize that ECW is actually the best of the three brands at the moment. I can understand Taz being pissed but he should remember ECW is moving to attach with Raw and that therefore moving 2 people from ECW to Raw wouldn't actually affect it that badly.
Matt's move isn't so bad. He will get some Raw coverage and may even end up ECW Champ. Also with ECW having quite a good cruiser weight division going on, he could get some good matches in there.
