WWE News: WMXXV Tickets, Ric Flair WWE.com Show
Posted by Ashish on 07.12.2008
Saturday news!
- Tickets for WrestleMania XXV officially go on sale on 9/20. An internet pre-sale will likely take place a few days earlier.
- Ric Flair will be getting his own WWE.com series called "Sylin' & Profilin' with Ric Flair." Joey Styles mentioned the new show in his latest WWE Fan Nation blog entry.
Dose Flair not know what retired means? I mean seriously, its been what, 4 months? He's made 2 tv apperances and another next week. Yes, I still marked out during the new Flair dvd, but don't oversaturate a market when you have such a prime stock in it. Go away for a year or two and come back when we least expcet it. If he would have retired a couple years ago, like I had hoped and not made a mockery of his legacy, this would be awesome. I forsee a match in his near future ruining what was such a special moment.
Thx marks, flame away

Anyone else see the Ric Flair mention on Fast Money on CNBC? They didn't rip him but rightly questioned who would open a consumer financial firm with the current economy.

He is retired as an active wrestler, not from wrestling. There's a big difference.

More importantly, who the hell would want anything with Flair when it comes to money? Seriously, he's a guy who's gotten in trouble so many times over the years for failing to pay taxes and other financial issues that he's the one who needs the financial advisers. Granted the only thing he probably had to do with it is putting up the money and having his name on it, but aside from the economy issues, Ric Flair and finance do together about as well as peanut butter and expired mayo.

"Retire" means he won't wrestle. It doesn't mean "disappear." If you thought that, you're an idiot.

There is no reason for Flair not to be on TV for the WWE. He's retired (long overdue imho) as a wrestler, but half of his appeal was his personality and he can keep doing that for a lot longer. Why give it up? He can do a show for WWE.com without having to engage in the crazy travel schedules or anything like that. It's all fine. Besides what's it going to be, like 10 minutes every week? I think his sore old body can just about get through that.

and besides, he's broke

"Stylin' and Profilin'"? nah, they should do "Hobby Time with Ric Flair" and feature him doing puzzles and sudoko or... as he would call it "Sudu-WOOO" don't worry about laughing, I crack myself up.

He's retired!!!! Wht part of that do you people not understand? It means you go on vactions, sit at home with ur family, collect stamps or coins or whatever else they do. I still work, and will for prolly 40 more years, although my IRA is gaining nicely.
Flair dosnt need to be on tv. Flair dosnt need to to wwe.com shows. He need to give it up for a while and make surprise apperances whenm it suits him best. Has no one watched the new dvd? His kids have said they needed a father and he wasn't there. It time to make up for that Ric and man up to your responsibilites.

Maybe his kids needed them in their childhood and teens, I really doubt they need a father figure that bad now, they are all kinda old now. Doing a 10 minute show isn't goint to kill his relationships, wrestling for that long is what did that! Good god.

It's fairly standard in sports for retired competitors to end up as such things as managers or pundits. There is nothing unusual in it. Sure in most peoples dull 9-5s retirement means not working, but it's not like Flair is doing anything unusual for someone in his industry.
I think perhaps the only reason people seem annoyed is that he didn't spend much time off the screens. Turning up on Raw just to dial a number and then say "Woooooo" is not a big thing. Perhaps it surprises people that he's that obsessed with Wrestling he can't keep away from it. Really? This is Flair we're talking about. That's pretty much what I expected. But he's retired from you know, the dangerous part of the job for someone his age, why not continue. What else is he going to do? I think a lot of people forget some people really like their jobs. I can't imagine wanting to stick around where I work when I didn't need to, but I don't work for the WWE.
