WWE News: New FCW Tag Champs, Amy Hennig, Flair & Steamboat's Sons, Upcoming House Show Matches
Posted by Ashish on 07.15.2008
Tuesday WWE news...
- Gabe Taft and Joe Hennig won the Florida Championship Wrestling Tag Team Titles on 7/12 in Port Richey, FL.
- Reports that Amy Hennig is under a WWE developmental deal are not true. She is, however, training with Harley Race's school.
- WWE is advertising the following two matches for their 8/16 tri-branded house show.
* John Cena & Batista vs. Umaga & Big Show
* CM Punk vs. Kane for the World Title
- Ric Flair's son, Reid Flair, will be training under George South. Flair is under a WWE developmental deal. South used to be an enhancement talent for the Jim Crockett Promotions in the 1980s.
- Ricky Steamboat's son has also been training under South.
George South used to be a lot more than just an 80's enhancement talent.

Flair - Steamboat Generation 2? Sweet...

Woah, Steamboat's son vs Flair's son?
That'd be pretty sweet just based on the 2nd generation stigma it would carry.

Enhancement Talent=Jobber
No need to be so politically correct around here. He was actually really good in the role on World Championship Wrestling. If you watch it on WWE 24/7 he is pretty much on every episode.

Jobber = pin me, pay me
Enhancement Talent = jobber that gives the opponent a good rub
Also, the possibility of a second-gen stable seems to be getting pretty stacked now.

In related news, David Flair has recently been seen training with Hamburglar & Mayor McCheese.

Yea, I was gonna ask about David Flair. He had a worese career than Bruno's kid. What a shame for both of those guys. Lets hope the new round is better. Anyone know what happened to Putski's kid?

Now THAT'S funny...

George South lost to Jake "The Snake" Roberts at Wrestlemania 2.
Scott Putski suffered a major leg injury in a match against Brian Christopher Lawler in 1997, and that was the last I saw of him.

George South was part of NWA history. He was one half of the Gladiators team that gave the Mulkeys their only televised win.

George Wells lost to Jake at Wrestlemania II, not George South. George South ran his own promotion i believe in Florida or the Carolinas.

Wasn't George South that hairy guy with the green tongue?

i know it's been like 10 years, but i still see Reid Flair as a 10 year old kid in a singlet taking down Eric Bischoff

"George South ran his own promotion i believe in Florida or the Carolinas"
IIRC, he co-ran it with The Italian Stallion. The Hardyz did some work with the promo early in their career and talk about it in their book.

I remember seeing George South wrestle Ric Flair on tv once, I think it was on NWA World Championship Wrestling in the 80's.
I heard something recently about George being a good guy and a good worker. Maybe it was from Flair?
