TNA to Release Kaz
Posted by Larry Csonka on 07.21.2008
This was unexpected…
From TNAwrestling.com:
TNAwrestling.com has learned that Kaz will leave Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Kaz requested his release on Monday morning. Before departing TNA, Kaz has agreed to fulfill his obligations of competing at upcoming TNA Live Events he is scheduled on.
Kaz will appear on the premiere episode of the new "Karen's Angle" interview segment this Thursday night on "iMPACT!" to comment on his departure and his reasons for doing so. TNA Wrestling wishes Kaz all the best in his future endeavors.

given the fact they're going to let him address the reasons on air tells me this is part of angle.
if not, i look forward to seeing frankie kazarian in roh hehe.

This does sound too good?
Posted By: Borat (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:18 PM
And the next PWG champion...
Just like Lo-Ki.
Posted By: Ryan (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:18 PM
and that's a shoot, BROTHA!!
Posted By: Hulkster (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:18 PM
TNA not only takes WWE castoffs, but now they are taking the 'future endeavors' tagline.
DAMN YOU TNA! BE ORIGINAL FOR ONCE!
Posted By: LatinoMeat (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:18 PM
WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
god-fucking-damn it!
;.;

next wwe superstar is kaz called it
Posted By: millmatt (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:19 PM
*cue everyone saying he'll go back to the 'E*
Posted By: frank (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:19 PM
This would probably be a storyline. I bet this has to do with losing the World X Cup thing. When he comes back, he'll probably be world champion
Posted By: Mordecai (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:19 PM

oh......didn't see this coming at all!
Posted By: Tom D (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:20 PM
wtf man?
Posted By: jonathan (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:20 PM
He's too good of a wrestler to be without work. Here's hoping he winds up in WWE.
Posted By: Squared Away Soldier (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:20 PM
my guess is his health. that brace/wrap on his elbow keeps getting bigger and bigger, maybe a possible infection.
Posted By: jd (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:21 PM
What the flying monkey fuck is going on there?
Are they insane?
Hold on they hired Vince Russo. Course they are.
Posted By: Flux Capacitor (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:21 PM
Ok... I can understood why they pulled this fake departing wrestler crap with Daniels -- he was basically spinning his wheels any, and some time away from the Fallen Angel character might be a good thing. I have no idea what angle they're going for here, though.
Posted By: parliboy (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:22 PM
I am shocked. I thought Kaz brought a new level f excitement to the X-Divisio. I have the Victory Road 07 Ultimate X match and I still rewind the Kaz Diamond Cutter spot. I saw the footage of the spot he did at Victory Road this year and it was the best spot in TNA history. I will miss Kaz and hope he does well in whatever he decides to do.

I'm pretty sure TNA came up with the Ultimate X match and elevation X and the World X Cup and a bunch of other stuff
Posted By: Joey Watson (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:24 PM
My first guess is that it's probably bullshit...but if not, Vince better grab him up quick, fast, and in a hurry.
...And not give him a stupid wrestling name.
Posted By: BJC (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:24 PM
I think it can be part of storyline (remember what he say on last week before X-Division championship match?). TNA rarely announce releases beforehead (they did this trick with Abyss). He still can win X-Division Championship on next taping and stay in TNA.
Posted By: L'Mago (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:24 PM
Guess ppl have forgotten. Kaz has already been in WWE. I don't think he'd be crazy enough to go back and play on Heat like they had him doing.
Posted By: TWilliams (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:25 PM
Kaz was in WWE before, it didnt work out for him so he went back to TNA. I think this is all a big storyline though...just doesnt sound right.
Posted By: Krowe (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:27 PM

Posted By: ZAR1992 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:23 PM
Not to take anything away from Kaz's spot cause it was really cool, but Primetime walked a cage dammit. Nothing will top that.
Posted By: Daz (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:29 PM
Kaz already wrestled in WWE and went NOWHERE. This sucks if its for real. I thought Kaz was a tremendous talent and really the type of wrestler TNA needed to make themselves an alternative to the E.
Posted By: King Draz (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:29 PM
I know it is TNA, but I don't even think they're stupid enough to have him be released. I think it's blatantly a storyline.
Posted By: SS87 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:32 PM
Kaz will debut in a month on ECW as Bruce McCord
Posted By: w (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:33 PM
Surely a story and a way to get some time off.
Posted By: Guest#4578 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:34 PM
You're right Daz. The Primetime cage spot is the best in TNA history. I just got caught up in the moment but I totally agree with you.
Posted By: ZAR1992 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:34 PM
Great with a young serious (minimum comedy in gimmick) wrestler leaving, that only means there's going to be more comedy, and more old farts!
Posted By: Davis (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:34 PM
Work. Work work work. Workity work work. No WAY they would let him on karen's new show to blabber otherwise. If he comes back in a mask and joins the Prince Justice Brotherhood, I'm going to Orlando with a baseball bat and a pole.
Posted By: Chris Lansdell (Registered) on July 21, 2008 at 06:34 PM
Soon to be Harry Richards in WWE. I keed. If TNA is gonna cover it on air i say its storyline. If not, oh well. I don't think he can be world champ and theres not too much else they can do with him. He's won too many big matches to play the underdog role and I just don't think they have much else for him.We shall see
Posted By: Jboy1307 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:35 PM
I smell a work from Vinny Russo himself from up there in fuckin' Pluto.
Posted By: Kevin F. (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:36 PM
Well if he's requested his release, I'm glad they gave it to him. But this is just one more reason to not watch this show.
Posted By: Guest#5560 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:36 PM
Kaz was on his way to going somewhere in the wwe before he quit that one to.
I hope he goes somewhere where he will be allowed to be awesome. He a more talented Shelton Benjamin.
Posted By: the dude (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:39 PM
kaz sucks, thank god. now just get rid of sting and i'll be happy. Jbl is a wrestling god!!!!

WORK
Posted By: tt (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:42 PM
Hasn't anyone been paying attention to what's been going on with Kaz's character since Victory Road? This is a WORK, people.
Posted By: poffo316 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:44 PM
Man, this is terrible, Kaz Leaving TNA Wrestling. Just Horrible. This was the least thing I would ever expect. Good luck to Kaz's future.
Posted By: Chrid D. (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:45 PM
face it. Kaz is simply to short and small to be a good wrestler. hopefully he made enough money to go to school to become an accountant or something. smart move for kaz. or maybe he has enough money to buy the new triple h dvd so he can study real wrestling.
Posted By: milky (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:45 PM
How are there people posting comments and not realizing this is a work?
I guess wrestling fans really are gullible.
Posted By: Manbearpig (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:50 PM
Hey dummies, Kaz was already in the WWE for about 10 minutes and got the Paul London treatment.
Kaz is like the Jeff Hardy of TNA. Main eventer one day, off TV the next, but still over like rover with the fans.
Posted By: FUZEY (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:50 PM
They probably asked him to cut his hair.
Posted By: Wahriah (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:51 PM
He could go to Hollywood and be Antonio Banderas' stunt double.
Posted By: Jay (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:56 PM
It's an angle. They're probably giving him time to heal up because apparently he landed bad when he pulled that big leg drop during Victory Road.
Posted By: m8 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:57 PM
It's a work, guys.
Posted By: Seany D (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:58 PM
Kaz requested his release on Monday morning, but appear on taped episode "Karen's Angle" (get taped week ago, as whole this week "Impact")?
Posted By: L'Mago (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 06:59 PM
This can't be happening! Kaz is one of my favourite wrestlers in TNA and has won many big matches as of late (Fight for the Right, Terrordome, X Division King of the Mountain). Hopefully, it's a storyline, but keep Kaz in TNA because he can perform great matches and spots. Why would Kaz want to have a release if he's in the midst of a big push? It doesn't make any sense.
Posted By: Chris (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:01 PM
this reaks of a Russo angle. Why would they let him on tv to discuss his departure, instead of just burying his ass.
Posted By: hitman (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:04 PM
Wow. Kaz is a BIG loss for TNA if this is real.
Posted By: Simpleton (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:05 PM
Coming soon to ECW
Oliver Clozoff aka Kaz
Posted By: Josh (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:09 PM
To say that Kaz's WWE run was a flop. He didn't stay long enough to determine weather it was or not. Who knows how far Kaz could have gone in the WWE had he stayed then? And for the short time he was there, how many matches did he lose? The answer: ZERO.
Posted By: Rob Z (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:10 PM
C'mon guys...."Tnawrestling.com" has found out about this?
He's going to be on Karen Angle's show to discuss his release?
Wasn't he the one that last week was acting all "emo" about the loss and leaving Borash's backstage interview with some cheesy dramatic last word?
C'mon.......I mean....c'mon...
Posted By: Ego (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:13 PM
This has to be a storyline. Like others have said, there's no way they would actually have Kaz explain why he's legit leaving the company on tv, let alone during some talk-show segment.
And if Kaz is actually leaving, I say this...BULLSHIT!!!
Posted By: Bill (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:15 PM
Anyone who thinks this is real, is an idiot.
It said he requested his release today & will talk about on that new Karen Angle segment this week. This Screems work for several reasons:
1. iMPACT was taped last week. There for if, if he requested his release today, he wouldn't have been able to talk about it on iMPACT this week.
2. TNA wouldn't let him talk about on TV.
3. TNA doesn't annouce that they released someone. D'Amore & Mitchell were released recently. They didn't announce it.
4. They were paroding WWE's "Future endevore" line
It's all part of the him "letting everyone & himself down" storyline they've doing. WORK!
Posted By: Joe5150 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:16 PM
this better not be true as if it is, tna has just lose a loyal fan in me.
Posted By: dam (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:19 PM
i gotta see where this goes before i could give a clear comment... seems like like if he were just leaving the company, why would get tv time to talk about it? Maybe a work, maybe not
Posted By: cj (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:21 PM
No way this is real, unless it is a serious family problem, but then why wouldn't they just give him some time off? If it is an injury, why not once again just give him time off to heal. You know what this will do, all of us IWC dorks will tune in on Thursday to see what Kaz has to say, and in turn maybe ratings will go up a little.
Posted By: DC (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:22 PM
Looks like someone took some advise from Chris Harris. It was only a matter of time before Kaz looked in the mirror and said, "Wait a second? I'm fucking KAZ! What the fuck am i doing in TNA? They don't deserve me. ECW, here I come!!!"
Kaz(c) vs. Evan Bourne for the ECW Title at WMXXV. I say BOOK THAT SHIT!!!
Posted By: Jordan (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:22 PM
Its things like this that make people complain. Is this an angle because its on the Karen Angle special? kinda hope so
In all reality I liked Kaz. I liked his style and he managed to work fun and exciting matches with his tenure in TNA. This is like his second time leaving so will this mean he's return again?
Seriously though I hope Kaz succeeds where ever he goes.
Posted By: Colin (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:25 PM
Did you guys know that Bobby Lashley wrestled in AAA?
Posted By: guesthehe (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:31 PM
good riddance
Posted By: Drue (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:38 PM
This is definitely a storyline. BTW, Lansdell's comment made me laugh.
Posted By: ZAR1992 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:39 PM
LOL, I don't even know who that jabbroni is. Some news.
Posted By: Guest#8531 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:41 PM
"Hey dummies, Kaz was already in the WWE for about 10 minutes and got the Paul London treatment."
Actually, Kaz only made about 3-5 appearances on WWE TV (Velocity), he recieved mic time, and he won each of those matches.
Posted By: Guest#1078 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 07:58 PM
well isn't Kaz already an undefeated WWE wrestler? though, "if you see it on TV, it's probably a work" comes to mind.
Kaz's legdrop was a cool spot but yet no Elix Skipper cage rana.
Posted By: elgrannoche (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 08:03 PM
the tna website is reporting this. they didnt mention any of the other guys leaving over the last 2 weeks. which means ...WORK!!
Posted By: fred (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 08:06 PM
a) Sounds like an angle
b) We'll miss him
c) I maybe don't blame him, because of all his pointless pushes that were never followed through, but all he has to do is look at Shelton Benjamin's similar career, and take heart that Shelton just got the US title.
Posted By: matrix1004 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 08:08 PM
Come on, only the markiest of marks would buy this as anything other than a poor attempt at an angle. Russo's WCW "shoot" crap all over and over and over again.
Why does he still have a job?
Posted By: PHOENIXZERO (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 08:18 PM
Even i fell for this one. I admit it, i'm an idiot :P
Posted By: Muta (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 08:20 PM
Its a work... can see it a mile away...
Posted By: Lynx Raven Raide (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 08:21 PM
I Think He Should Be IN ECW Apart of Teddy Long's New Talent He Fit Right In, Not Jobbing Though Winning Using His Finisher he used in TNA
Posted By: Richard Bernier (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 08:23 PM
They asked him to cut his hair, didn't they?
Posted By: Guest#7841 (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 08:40 PM
Wasn't he injured at the last PPV? This is a work like Chris Daniels being "fired"...
Posted By: D (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 09:05 PM
Anyone who thinks this is real obviously weren't watching the last Impact.
Posted By: KM (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 09:12 PM
It's an angle. They are probably going to run with the "I'm leaving cause I've let everyone down" angle. After all, last week when he was interviewed on iMPACT he said he wanted to turn the corner and win the X Division Championship that night. He didn't, so now he's "leaving".
Posted By: bob (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 09:13 PM
Don't be ignorant. When was the last time TNA announced a real release? They only do it to further the angle.
Posted By: Talon (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 09:18 PM
He was in WWE for a short time, here's hoping he comes back
Posted By: William (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 09:24 PM
Because this is how they have handled every release before? Come on sheep, what do you think. He lost the X Cup match, he lost the X Divison title..see a pattern developing? Their doing the whole "I just don't have it in me anymore." angle. Bah Bah Bah kids.
Posted By: Kip (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 09:29 PM
Kaz only wrestled something like four matches for WWE before he quit, so it's not like there was any sort of opportunity for him to have a chance.
Posted By: Cosmo (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 09:34 PM
HA!HA! Get a life!
Posted By: Dr Bob Onit (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 09:59 PM
Honestly who even watches TNA enough anymore to even care?
Posted By: lmc (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 10:03 PM
WORKYWORKYWORKYWORKYWORKY...
On the off chance it is legitimate, though, and Frankie goes to WWE, I hope they dust off the music he had during his last cup of coffee there. It was mega-badass.
Posted By: HeartBurnKid (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 10:14 PM
I see only two options here:
A. This is all part of an angle.
or
B. Kaz has to leave due to some MAJOR crisis at home, health troubles, or something along those lines.
IMHO, it has to be one of those options. I can't see TNA allowing him to talk about his departure ON THE PROGRAMM under any other circumstances.
Posted By: Vinz (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 10:43 PM
Kaz is underfeated in WWE. Anyways, its a work.
Posted By: DP (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 10:59 PM
Another TNA reject Kaz goes to WWE.
Posted By: Take That (Guest) on July 21, 2008 at 10:59 PM
Kaz will return to WWE and join ECW as Smelly McGoo.

Nice one, TNA
Posted By: bighustle (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 12:13 AM
Worked shoot.
Kaz wouldn't go back to the WWE anyway. He doesn't like it there. I'm interested in how TNA will make this a story. Kaz is far too good to be let go.
Besides, if someone was getting released, they wouldn't be giving significant air-time to him. Worked.
Posted By: Banz (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 12:24 AM
this guy was one of my favs please stay away from the "e" go to roh or something
Posted By: Antman (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 12:53 AM
Wow, didn't see this one coming. I don't understand why KAZ would want to leave when he was finally getting some notice. What does he have WWE interest in him again?
Posted By: Shaun (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 01:44 AM
You're all marks, this is OBVIOUSLY a work.
TNA don't announce it on their website when they release someone and they've started this 'Kaz can't win the big one' storyline where he is doubting himself and feels he's letting people down, so this will obviously tie into that.
Posted By: lol (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 03:27 AM
He'll be jobbing on ECW by year's end. Either that, or this is a work.
Posted By: T.G. Corke (Registered) on July 22, 2008 at 03:59 AM
FUCK! he is one of the best wrestlers in TNA but they never gave him the world title push he deserved. Maybe wwe will sign him or maybe even ROH (I hope)
Posted By: Guest#3831 (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 06:38 AM
you guys are so gullible lmao
Posted By: Guest#7191 (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 07:05 AM
swerve... Kaz will run the "Joe angle" (since TNA likes to steal from everyone including themselves) and he will bitch and whine about not getting the opportunities he deserves and that's why he's asking for his release. He'll disappear for a while and then he'll be some "surprise" opponent for one of the titles. Lame.
No way they'd air this shit unless it was an angle. They'd just bury him on his way out like they did Lo-ki.
Posted By: Amazing read (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 09:15 AM

. . . WORK!
Posted By: McLovin (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 09:57 AM
it's a work. now he's gonna join the embassy.
they'll have jimmy rave turn on lance ROCK and reunite with nana. lance has had that name for a whole week now, so obviously it's time to break up the band.
Posted By: ghana-rhea (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 10:51 AM
Ah, this is how you get people to watch your product. Take a talent that's over with a majority of the viewing audience and announce that he's leaving. People tune in to see why he's going, instant ratings (hopefully). They did this with The James Gang/VKM, too, but people actually care about Kaz. They'll tune in to see why/if he's really leaving.
Posted By: RDMT (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 03:26 PM
Its a work. Possible heel turn? It ties in with the recent losses he's had possibly a Bret Hart style crybaby angle? If not this might be a big face push for him. He deserves it either way
Posted By: Steve (Guest) on July 22, 2008 at 03:55 PM
I bet hes suicide
