Various News: Sandman Arrested, Regal At PPV, McCarthy On SNME
Posted by Ashish on 07.21.2008

- William Regal was backstage at the PPV last night and is now free to return at any point although it doesn't appear as if he will return on RAW tonight.

- Jenny McCarthy will be appearing at the WWE Saturday Night's Main Event taping on 8/2 in Washington, D.C. to promote Generation Rescue, a group of scientists, doctors and parent volunteers researching the causes and treatments for Autism.

- James "Sandman" Fullington was arrested last night in Yonkers for throwing glasses at the employees of a restaurant (La Lanterna) he was eating at. When officers arrived, Sandman started throwing glasses at them, too, resulting in two offices suffering cuts on their arms. He was arrested and charged with second degree assault, a felony, third degree criminal mischief, also a felony, second degree reckless endargement and resisting arrest. He was also submitted to psychiatric evaluation. During the incident, the owner of the restaurant threw a bottle at Sandman to try and stop him, and this busted him open. Police had to point their guns at Sandman to get him to calm down.

Was anyone else disappointed to find that it wasn't Andrew McCarthy who would be appearing?

Looks like he better take Vince up on the paid-rehab.

Also, this looks like the end of any chance he had in going back to WWE.

XPW reunions 4 life!

In the course of 3 years Sandman has gone from being part of WWE and seemed to be in really good shape to getting released, doing an independant show half asleep, and now acting like a maniac in public. Wrestlers I grew up watching are either dying, bitter, or doing crazy **** like that. Very sad really.

What a psycho...surprised he's not in jail already.

I noticed that Regal is still on the Raw Superstars page. I don't know if they ever took if off, but if so, that's an interesting detail.

Not to be terribly negative, but Jenny McCarthy on a wrestling show trying to promote finding treatments for autism. Gotta question the logic on that one.

And you wonder why no one ever sees many of the ECW Originals..........hmmmm.........

As far as Regal goes, 6 months down the road, he'll get another push and then screw it up by getting caught with a bunch of drugs in a hotel room with Mae Young, he'll claim it was Ashley, but the lights were off.

James "Sandman" Fullington was arrested last night in Yonkers for throwing glasses at the employees of a restaurant (La Lanterna)- Yeah cause I sure as hell didn't see Sandman going to La Lanterna for a burger and a beer.

Throwing a bottle at a man who would open himself up with a can? Oh dear, no wonder he was pissed.... They tried to change his gimmick...

I bet you the other patrons at he restaurant were chanting "ECW" as this whole thing happened.

"During the incident, the owner of the restaurant threw a bottle at Sandman to try and stop him, and this busted him open"

I think that was a result of a beer can.. That Sandman inflicted on himself.

Posted By: Tyler Fullington (Guest)  on July 21, 2008 at 09:20 PM

This sounds like a shitty vignette to re-introduce him in ECW. Now if he had the Singapore cane, I would definitely believe it.

Posted By: beezy (Guest)  on July 21, 2008 at 09:30 PM

Is anyone surprised that the Sandman got arrested? And how did the owner think a bottle would stop the Sandman?
I've seen him get hit with far worse. Like when Cactus Jack hit him with a frying pan.

Posted By: whitley (Guest)  on July 21, 2008 at 09:43 PM

If he ends up doing some time, Sandman better sleep with one eye open.

La Lanterna? That's one of those restaurants that Gordon Ramsay fixed up on Kitchen Nightmares.

Hahaha, for I second I thought you meant '****' matches, you know like Angle vs HBK

The Sadman just must be a DMX fan. X got aarested on the weekend for like the 4545th time in a couple months, and X is from Yonkers. So, Sandman should be let off with a warning.

"Not to be terribly negative, but Jenny McCarthy on a wrestling show trying to promote finding treatments for autism. Gotta question the logic on that one."

Yeah, cause only certain people are allowed to try to find treatments for autism.

"If he ends up doing some time, Sandman better sleep with one eye open.
"

Grippimg his pillow tight, perhaps?

umm, and Jenny McCarthy's son is autistic, and her boyfriend, Jim Carrey, got to know Jerry Lawler during the making of "Man on the Moon,"
the movie about Andy Kauffman, makes sense that WWE would help her raise money.

For the main event of Saturday Night's Main Event, it will be Jenny McCarthy taking on Autism! With your support (and wrestler interference), we will be able to stop Autism!
