Is it me, or does the new ECW belt look a lot like the IWGP 3rd Championship belt?
In case people don't know, it was the one New Japan made for Brock Lesnar's run.

Not bad from that picture. Has an oldschool look to it. But nothing is as oldschool as the original belt.
I was hoping for a secondary belt on ECW. Even tho WWE has 10000000 belts already, ECW really needs a secondary belt. They should have kept the Smackdown title. But thats gone.

I prefer Gold, but Platinum is not bad, assuming that is Platinum. The "winged" eagle is a pretty good nod to the old belt. better than that winged butterfly.

I like it. I think it's a nice looking belt. I like what appears to be a phoenix on it. The background design is interesting, though the similarities to Iron Crosses on it makes me think Triple H may have had a hand in the design. I actually don't care that it's not gold. Personally, I think silver or platinum can look nice too. Plus, and let's be honest, the ECW World Title isn't given the importance the WWE or World Heavyweight Titles are. It's very much like the WCW TV Title. Which is OK. ECW is a one hour show with mostly third tier talent and a few vets. It's been held by some great guys like RVD and Big Show, as well as Kane, but it's also been held by Chavo Guerrero and John Morrison. It's basically a mid-card title, which is the reason why ECW doesn't need a mid-card title. It's a mid-card show.

PAUL HEYMAN was the one who killed ECW deader than a preacher's dick a loooong time ago.
The old belt and using a "worker" like Tommy Dreamer as anything more than a mid-card jobber as symbols of Heyman's flash-in-the-pan show belong buried in the past.

I guess I'm in the minority, I don't like that it's not gold. Platinum? Platinum is about twice as expensive as gold, do you think they would use platinum for their C show belt? It is silver, it looks like it should be some regional secondary title. The champ should be in gold. The design itself it nice, but the color is just wrong. And I liked the old ECW belt.
And we all know the "spinner" belt doesn't spin, that is just the easiest way to describe the belt.

Ya, know change is always met with resistance especially by us wrestling fans, but this belt does not suck. Sure I hate that ECW, the entity, that really rejuvinated my passion for this industry is dead, but truthfully it was before and never was reborn. At best the WWECW brand has been like a evil twin if you will allow me to steal a concept from soap operas. But the way I have decided to look at this belt is, if it was 10 years ago and Paul Heyman was presenting this belt to Taz with one Z, I would think it looks cool, so that is how I have to judge it.

hello? isn't the ecw 2007 make of the title a remake of the original title just a duller gold and changed the lettering from purple to red? for goodness sake the tile is only a year old and why do they need a new one? afterall, the new title is dammned nicer than the old remakes. good for you ecw it's about dammned time for a new title and a new look instead of a title that looked shitty in the first place. i llok forward to seeing no competitors vying for the new prestigious gold! good luck to all in the future! that is if you can get by the world strongest man first, hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is much better than the old ECW title belt --i dont know y u people r sayin it sux---cuz all the other belts are all gold...y is it wrong for them to finally make a belt thats not gold for once?? The black and silver color is perfect for ECW-the old belt looked like crap cuz it had an ugly shape, and the letters on it were bloody scribbled letters! Anf this new platinum belt has normal letters..

for those of u who weren't sure, yes u are correct, it is platinum, and not silver. "apparently", the divas belt is as well. not too sure myself bout that one, but the new ECW title is definately platinum. and i agree with some of u, the new ECW is not the original ECW, and as much as i loved the old school ecw belt design, i'm liking this new one. it suits this particular 'new ECW' product better. and the belt design could have been much much worse. personally i love the design, very old school wrestling, and it will look good around the waists of people like matt hardy, evan bourne, and some other younger ECW wrestlers.

Well, why not, since the true ECW's been dead and buried for a long time, anyways? This is like spitting on it's grave, so I'm not really surprised. WWE would do this, and it's apply appropriate.
And I seriously doubt WWE would use a high-calibur metal like Platinum on a belt that's barely on the level of the United States title. I'll be damned if that is Platinum.

I hear that the wwe title is getting remade soon, I don't know if it's a complete redesign or jmar will just change the raw side plate back to the smackdown plate.
Anyway wwe needs to stop designing their own belts and go back to letting jmar design them for them. The new ECW title doesn’t look that bad but the new divas does, it reminds of when jmar refused to make the WCW hardcore title back in 99.

i imagine (and this is just a theory) that the reason the spinner belt has been around longer than what we all thought is because in some higher up person at WWE's opinion that this particular design looks better on some of the younger wrestlers who have held it, so WWE may be heading towards the next generation of wrestlers to lead the way (look at most of the current champs now). obviously it looked good on cena. but edge, RVD, orton? it looked really good on them, too. i think it does. HHH, of course, doesn't suit the belt, but when u've held it 6 times who gives a stuff. i think there's probably more people who think the spinner belt's cool than there are who dont.

The spinner belt is still being used because it is the top selling replica of Figs Inc "the wwe world heavyweight is becoming a close second". Also they say that the reason that the RAW side plate with the lock design, and the CHAMP plate was never changed was to keep from messing up the replicas. Figs INC has been known in the past to get ill with JMAR for changing paint colors and such, and Figs INC are sacred that they will get stuck with a bunch of belts that nobody wants like when WWE changed the Undisputed ver 1 to ver 2.
It has also been the top requested item from the Make A Wish Foundation for a couple of years now and I can’t remember since the smoking skull, and the original big gold belt first appeared people in the mainstream talking about a wrestling belt.

I honestly like the look of the belt, but I'm a much bigger fan of the belt they were using before hand (the old ECW title that they modified by basically just coloring in some black on it and making the ECW logo red). In all honestly though, the ECW brand should be decommissioned. It's nothing but a glorified sunday night heat with it's own world title. It's a slap in the face to the original promotion, PERIOD.

i was never huge on the original Eastern Championship Wrestling or Extreme Championship Wrestling. The old school ECW titles were pretty shocking, they updated the last oringial ECW title design but changed the logo and put World Wrestling Entertainment on it somewhere. This however is absolutely hideous, why is it silver (it's clearly not about gold anymore thats fo sure) Nothing remotely interesting about this design, i hate to say it but the designs are really bad, firstly the Diva's championship....why not allow the women to compete on all brands? Te WWE title looks crap and the World Heavyweight Title is a reminder of WCW. I thought WWE were supposed to be moving on? All WWE Titles need revamping and SOON!!!! VINCE SORT IT OUT MATE YEAH????!!!!!???

Belt looks like a toy belt. Sure could have done something better with that "plastic looking strap". Dual-toned would have been better than all silver. looks a lot like the DIVAS title. NOT IMPRESSED.

I dunno.. The belt looks good (clean, burnished "platinum", no-nonsense). But the strap looks like it's made in China from REALLY cheap PVC.
