TNA News: Sting Heel Turn, Angle, Nash In Video Game, Bashir Angle
Posted by Ashish on 08.07.2008
Thursday TNA news update...
- There is talk in TNA about turning Sting heel.
- TNA is doing a storyline where "Homeland Security" investigates Sheik Bashir (Shawn Daivari).
- Kurt Angle will be throwing out the first pitch at tonight's Philadelphia Phillies baseball game. He will also appear on Daily News Live on Comcast Sportsnet in Philadelphia after the game.
- Midway announced today that Kevin Nash will be in the upcoming TNA Impact video game.
Sting is far too well loved and respected to properly turn heel, as I see it. He'd have to shake babies to death in the ring to get anyone to take him seriously.
Someone mentioned in the comments on one of the columns, if he turns, it'll probably end up being like 2001 heel Austin, at best.

say what you want about nash during the first 90% of a match, but because he's so tall, the Jackkninfe Powerbomb, Snake-eyes, and his chokeslam look absolutly devestating. if the Video game can do a good job replicating his throwing and dropping power, and downplay how slow he is nowadays he'll be a favorite to play.
Turning Sting heel won't work. He only shows up often enough to be a special attraction, and fans are so excited to see him when he does, I doubt that he'll be able to get any heel heat.

they ruined nash in the game.

"There is talk in TNA about turning Sting heel."
Hopefully he doesn't use his bullshit religion as an excuse to stay a "good guy" like a certain Shawn Michaels.
HBK would actually fit as a heel though I'm not sure about Stinger, he's genuinely too nice whereas Shawn is a c---.

Homeland Security vs. Daivari?
BFG 08 don't miss it (Hassan will debut that night)

Sting turning heel? Really, I am waiting for TNA to come out with the fake sting story line. Hey WCW ain't using it anymore.

Because it worked so well 9 years ago?

Midway better put Storm or Roode in the game Storm been with the company since day one [AMW days] this i how u reward him give his spot to someone who barely wrestles.
See this this that make dont want to support TNA in any fashion they love them rejects if i want to play with Nash i got countless wrestling games with him on the roster I never played with Storm before i understand that he has a fan base and all, but if this is your 1st game and u have a limted roster let the other guys who trying to make a name for themselevs be on the game.

Anybody want to bet that Angle gets injured throwing that first pitch?
Posted By: Smooth (Guest) on August 07, 2008 at 01:57 PM
Turning Sting heel is a bad idea. Russo tried to make Sting a heel is WCW. It didn't help the career of the "faces." Where is the "New Blood" now? Ask Vampiro if Sting as a heel works.

Talkin shit about a man's religion.
Niiiccce.
what? All out of yo mamma jokes?
Posted By: the dude (Guest) on August 07, 2008 at 01:59 PM
Sting can't be a believable heel any more than Randy Orton can be a believable face. Does no one remember Sting's ill-advised heel turn on Wood and Berg in WCW's dying days? What a fucking abortion that was. No thank you.

"There is talk in TNA about turning Sting heel."
BAM. BAM. BAM. That was the sound of me smacking my head repeatedly against the desktop. Why in the world should Sting turn heel? He has NO logical reason, he NEVER really worked as a bad guy to begin with, and he is far too popular for any fan to hate him.
I'm all for Sting/Joe at BFG, but why turn Sting? Invest some time and thought and give us a well-built face vs. face contest.
"TNA is doing a storyline where "Homeland Security" investigates Sheik Bashir"
CRACK. That was the sound of my desk being smashed in furious anger.
What kind of stupid booking is that? I'm not a WWE mark or a crybaby. I am not. But this is idea is just DUMB beyond belief. IMHo, terrorism angles are not only over-the-top and in poor taste, but doomed to fail as well. Just look at WWE's Hassan. Haven't seem him around lately...

i dunno...daivari versus dick cheney in a cage would draw better than some NASCAR guy.
especially if weapons are allowed.
and smooth took the words right outta my mouth.

People complaining about Flair's heel turn, but they already forget about Hogan? Many people don't believe what Hogan can became good heel too...

Prop...there are those that would tell you to go to hell for your statements on Christianity, but unless your outlook changes there's no need to state the obvious...

I think Nash is only playing a manager roll for the storymode because he has no ring gear. plus there are some spots left for Beer Money who doesn't want to play as Storm and Roode

This Just In: Kurt Angle fractured his orbital bone throwing out curve ball, details at 11.

TNA IS DEAD
You just don't turn Sting Heel when has Sting ever been a Heel?
I say boycott TNA
Posted By: The Rev (Guest) on August 07, 2008 at 03:52 PM
But if we look on Sting's career in TNA, he don't look good too. He rarely put over people, always main-event Bound for Glory, just for dropping title in few months. People already wonder how Sting help TNA, even Kevin Nash in last months work harder when Sting. TNA can turn fans against Sting

Please, please, please bring back Muhammad Hassan!

If Hulk Hogan (The ultimate "good guy") could succesfully turn heel, then why couldn't Sting?
Posted By: Brian (Guest) on August 07, 2008 at 04:25 PM
TNA Sucks. You would think Daivari would do his best to shoot down a terrorist character. This is a shock angle from Russo that will last 2-3 weeks and then will disappear for a month, resurface, go away and then nobody will remember it. It's not going to build toward anything, draw ratings or sell PPVs. Only waste time.

Sting was a heel(and quite a good one) managed by Eddie Gilbert, when his career began in the UWF.
Posted By: the Fresh (Guest) on August 07, 2008 at 05:04 PM
I look forward to the Impact episode where Davari is stripped naked and posed in humiliating positions by the team of Homeland Security - Ron and Don Harris.
Then the skits that are supposed to take place in Guantanamo Bay, then Curry Man walks into shot in the background.
TNA - So Bush-league It Hurts!!!

some people just dont READ...."There is TALK in TNA about turning Sting heel."
there is TALK, it doesn't mean that they are going to do it, it just means that they are discussing it. I'm a huge fan of the face sting but if I can give the wwe a chance to see how the mike adamle situation plays out, I could definitely give TNA a chance on this IF they do it

"Sting is far too well loved and respected to properly turn heel, as I see it. He'd have to shake babies to death in the ring to get anyone to take him seriously."
And eat their heads .. raw.
And it would be a waste of time anyway - if Sting retires this year, or even next year, do you really think he's going to want to go out a heel ?
I hope it's just talk and nothing more but you never know with Russo.
Posted By: Hank (Guest) on August 07, 2008 at 06:01 PM
Fans just wouldn't buy Sting as a heel. The way they've got it right now works pretty good. Booker's using Sting's trademarks to make Joe think he's turning, Joe is the champion who's now focused more on Sting than his challenger, and Sting's the wildcard who knocked Joe out because he believed Joe was taking things too far. Is there any need to mess with that formula?
With Daivari: Okay, so he's being investigated by Homeland Security. Let's see him wrestle.
Insert joke about Angle dislocating his shoulder here.
It was kind of a given that Nash would be in the game. As long as his stats are realistic he's a good addition.

"Sting was a heel(and quite a good one) managed by Eddie Gilbert, when his career began in the UWF."
That was also 25 years ago before he became THE Sting. He turned heel in WCW 8 years ago and it was a disaster, he and Luger even beat Flair with a baseball bat and the fans stilled cheered him, they even cheered him over Goldberg. His heel turn lasted like 3 weeks.
Posted By: Guest#1398 (Guest) on August 07, 2008 at 06:26 PM
In TNA Sting hasn't put a whole lot of people over because CREATIVE wouldn't let him. Last year he wanted to put Daniels and Abyss over clean but the genius running the show wanted to protect Sting's character instead.

abrubt changes (heel turns & such) , and storylines that can't even be seen as somewhat beleivable and in poor taste [Sting and Daivari respectively WITH RESPECT] are what made wCw terrible to watch in the end, although I did anyways, they eventually helped to kill it...instead kill the cancer of bad booking @ inconsistent storylines now before it happens too much OR the lack of interest will grow like a tumor, eventually no more TNA. Learn from the mistakes!!!

Sting went heel in wcw when he turned on hogan ,and washelped by luger - it went well but was short lived and only done to help hogan transation more easyily back to the yellow and red gremlin from when he was hollywood hogan

Theres talk of turning everyone in TNA
Posted By: DP (Guest) on August 07, 2008 at 10:36 PM
Why does this stuff have to get floated out to the internet everytime TNA is about to do something? Just freakin turn him heel and make everyone have to tune in to see what in the hell happened. I'd like to be surprised every now and again rather than watch the same old crap. Use the ppv's that have 15 buys to surpise us with this and leave it out of the internet community TNA.
Posted By: Noggins (Guest) on August 08, 2008 at 12:23 AM
because he is brown! TNA is EDGEY!
Posted By: Kip (Guest) on August 08, 2008 at 03:51 AM
