WWE News: Orton's Return, FCW Taping, Cena Draws In NY, JR Blog, More
Posted by Ashish on 08.08.2008
Friday WWE news update!
- Roughly 1500-1800 fans showed up to the John Cena autograph signing at the GNC in Herald Square in Manhattan yesterday.
- Jim Ross has a new blog entry up where he talks mostly about Ric Flair's WWE departure and the Brett Favre NFL situation. Check out the blog here.
- WWE has hired British PR firm Frank to work with them on marketing and promotions in Europe.
- Once again, tickets for the FCW TV taping last night were gone in about 20 minutes and many fans were turned away.
- During an appearance on the UK's Sky Sports News, Randy Orton said he has been medically cleared to wrestle and will be returning "very soon." He teased that he will be backstage at Summerslam and may make an appearance. Orton also said that his favorite match was his 2004 match against Mick Foley which he feels "made him."
Calling it now, Orton will interfere in the Punk vs. JBL match to have Punk win another Russoriffic type match were Punk can only win with outside help.

"Orton comes back to take his place as new leader of Evolution with Simply Priceless and draw money like crazy.

I think you mean third second-generation star, seeing as Orton is third-gen.
Still though, they would make a decent little stable, even without a fourth guy.

Why would a group of four second generation stars be called Evolution? The whole concept behind Evolution was that it was two stars of tomorrow (Orton and Batista), a star from the present (Triple H) and a star from yesterday (Ric Flair)... you know, the EVOLUTION of the wrestling business.

CM Punk beats JBL at SummerSlam, after the match he gets hit with the RKO.

Ha, ha you marks are hilarious. I'm sure Cena or Batista is your idea of a good wrestler. Gotta give Vince credit for getting over plain, boring and limited wrestling though!

i've been saying it for weeks..orton will interfere in the cena/batista match (since that one needs to wait until mania for a real result)...orton will lead rhodes/dibiase to regain their tag titles by interefering in the tag rematch on raw after summerslam..either carlito or SHANE mcmahon will join with the 2nd gen superstar stable...
punk will beat jbl clean-and hold the title until mania where he willface orton.

"Orton also said that his favorite match was his 2004 match against Mick Foley which he feels "made him." "
No, Vince constantly ramming him down our throats "made him."

Orton, Batista, and Simply Priceless. That is your new stable. I think it would work as Evolution, if it has to current stars, and two future stars. Not sure how well it would work with Dave and Orton together since they are both integral parts of the title picture.

I can see it now, Triple H's Baby vs Randy Orton's baby TLC Match at Unforgiven

I agree CM Punk sucks anyway

So true. You hit the nail right on the head.
I completely forgot that just a few months back Punk CLEANLY pinned Jericho in the King of the Ring tournament.
/sarcasm off
Some of you tools need a day job.
ROH product >>>>> any of the "big league" products where they are at right now.
Orton will get involved in the Batista/Cena match. Punk beats JBL clean.
BOOK IT!

Who cares what Orton does when he comes back? All I know is I'm so glad he'll be back soon and save this oh so boring show called Raw from crap like Punk,Cryme Tyme,JBL and Cena.
Posted By: Gary (Guest) on August 08, 2008 at 04:25 PM
I say he should jump over to SD! to lay waste on H's. You don't get away with ending the Age of Orton that easily, son!
Posted By: Ammoo (Guest) on August 08, 2008 at 04:39 PM
Punk sucks. Get in the gym, buddy. They can't get the belt off him soon enough. Bury his ass!

RAW is loaded with heels. Have Randy come back as a face. He could talk about how becoming a father has changed his outlook on life.

if anything Orton might become an Ademle original and become surprise Guest referee in CM Punk's match, Nobody thought about that, huh?
Posted By: Guest#9166 (Guest) on August 08, 2008 at 05:12 PM
Um, common...duh was being rhetorical. Look it up :)
Posted By: Harry (Guest) on August 08, 2008 at 05:14 PM
So really, a meeting with John Cena alone, for a few seconds, attracted more than ROH shows normally do? *sigh*

I finally deciphered what you were trying to say. He obviously was referring to ALL THREE of them (Cody, Ted, and Randy) since he said the stable needed a FOURTH second generation star. If he was only referring to Cody and Ted then that would be the THIRD second generation star. Welcome to Reading Comprehension 101.

First of all, a great name for the second gen stable would be Revolution. Randy's Evolution, and the obvious talk of being an uprising, and changing of the guard.
and FCW happens to have a second gen star who can fill the Enforcer role quite Nicely. Afa Jr! son of the wild samoan.
Posted By: Davis (Guest) on August 09, 2008 at 01:06 AM
Yay, Orton returning means the world is back to normal
Davis, you are a genius... Revolution is gold, BOOK IT
Posted By: The AGE OF ORTON (Guest) on August 09, 2008 at 02:07 AM
I just don't know how people could name Dibiase or Orton in a SECOND-Generation stable, seeing as they're both THIRD Generation superstars.
Now a "New Generation" or "Next Generation" stable sounds, well, lame, but makes more sense than naming it a second generation stable.
Posted By: The Informer (Guest) on August 09, 2008 at 02:30 AM
well i think if u r a third generation star you are also a second generation star so wtf diff does it make they should have natalya join up with them and bring back dh smith oh yheah he takes roids never mind how bout carlito oh yeah he sucks never mind ok how about afa jr and how is deuce a second gen star i dont remember a deuce senior is he brooklyn brallers son or what
Posted By: paulthepirate (Guest) on August 09, 2008 at 11:12 AM
deuce is jimmy snukas adopted son
Posted By: chase (Guest) on August 09, 2008 at 03:28 PM
am i the only one who thinks orton sucks? he wrestling sucks, his microphone skills are awful to the point of cringe-worthy....i really don't get it he should stay home, go watch replays of wrestlemania 3 with his pops

"ROH product >>>>> any of the "big league" products where they are at right now."
Then why does a John Cena autograph signing draw more people than any ROH card?
Posted By: FEPIC AIL! (Guest) on August 09, 2008 at 08:51 PM
well Revolution was used before unfortunately in WCW (Remember "out with Evolution and in with Revolution" I don't blame you if you don't) and we try to forget that as much as possible but I can't remember if he-who-shall-not-be-named was in it officially or he never got in and was always against them.
