NOOOOOO! Not Nick Patrick!

Others were pretty predictable, though.

Shannon Moore has a tag-team match tonight on Smackdown with Jimmy Wang Yang.

No, not shannon. Why?

Posted By: Matt P (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:21 PM

Does this mean Striker is now the ECW Color Commentary guy? He has no one to manage anymore!

The only suprise there is Nick Patrick and who did he piss off.

funaki survives once again... :)

* Big Daddy V - honestly.. a bit shocked, but not too much.. there're enough monster heels to go around.
* Shannon Moore - oh well. i'm sure people will be all up in arms over Shannon's release, but, c'mon.. I mean.. c'moooon.
* Domino - yeah, let's hold on to deuce though.. he's kind of sort of second generation which, obviously, equals awesome /sarcasm.
* Nunzio - aw.
* James Curtis - who?
* Referee Nick Patrick - oh nick patrick.. if ever we need an evil referee we'll know where to look... (to danny davis)

Posted By: m-a-d (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:27 PM

Now "The Prince of Punk" can return to TNA and finish off that mega-feud with AJ Styles. He owes AJ a job.

Does anyone else see a Big Daddy V-Abyss feud on the horizon?

Posted By: Ryder (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:28 PM

Nick Patrick? What the hell?

Posted By: Tony S. (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:29 PM

why nick patrick?

Posted By: keith (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:29 PM

Nick Patrick to TNA to feud with Hebner!

Posted By: optimus_kryme (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:30 PM

He had bigger boobs than any of the Divas. Big chocolately moobs.

Posted By: I'll miss Big Daddy V (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:30 PM

I'm not sure who James Curtis is, but why the hell did they release Nick Patrick?

Posted By: Wicked (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:30 PM

TNA should pick up Nick Patrick and Shannon Moore. Maybe Domino if they can give him a decent gimmick. I'm glad to see Big Daddy V go. Couldn't care less about Nunzio.

Posted By: Guest#8369 (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:31 PM

"Here we come TNA!!!!

1) Big Daddy V re-debuts in TNA to team with Awesome Kong.
2) James Curtis joins Beer Money.
3) Shannon Moore becomes Prince of Punk again.

Posted By: SS87 (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:33 PM

So the rumors are false.

They aren't bringing heat back!?

Posted By: the dude (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:34 PM

Holy schnikeys! Most of those guys have been employed by the Fed for a while

Posted By: Bisch (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:34 PM

Reasons for their releases

* Big Daddy V- too fat wouldn't lose weight
* Shannon Moore -not over
* Domino-not over
* Nunzio- not over
* James Curtis- who
* Referee Nick Patrick- refused to change his name to WWE referee Stephen Jones. Now Vince can declare his victory over WCW complete (um does Charles Robinson still ref)

Posted By: nanoman (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:34 PM

The NWO referee got released? That makes me sad...

Posted By: Hey now... (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:35 PM

And Funaki keeps his job. EPIC WIN!

Posted By: Mark Salmela (Registered)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:36 PM

Aw, Nunzio? Yeah sure, the guy jobs left and right but still. Funaki is still around so why not keep Nunzio? Who's left of the ECW originals now, Dreamer and Richards? Super Crazy too but although he was drafted to ECW, he's yet to appear on it. And thank God that Big Daddy V is gone. He was useless anyway. And nobody was buying Mabel/Viscera as a threat.

Posted By: Joey Gladstone (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:36 PM

"And your new TNA world heaveyweight champion BIG DADDY V!!"

Big daddy V is a big surprise.

Nick Patrick what a shame he belongs in the hof

Well of them all Shannon Moore has the best chance of doing good, he had a previous run in TNA, He could do fine in the X-division if they use him right and let him become The Prince of Punk again.

Posted By: Michael (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:53 PM

Wow there goes more of the ECW locker room. Much much longer before they completely blow it up
Moore back to TNA with Chris Harris

Who is James Curtis??

ah nick patrick... one of the final pieces of wcw now gone from wwe

Posted By: vv (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:55 PM

I honestly thought these guys were already released. BTW, is Domino Jimmy Snuka's son or is that Duecebag ?

Posted By: Guest#0399 (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:55 PM

Well considering Nick Patrick (future TNA ref) is the only person I even remotely cared about, its a pretty good clean out.

Posted By: Champ (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:56 PM

i'm so fucking glad they got rid of BDV.

Posted By: marty (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 05:57 PM

BOOM...outta here.

No big surprises, but figured they'd bring V back. I guess with Kahli, Big Show, Kane, Umanga, & Henry as monsters - they wouldn't have anything for him to do.

YET....Boogeyman still remains employed with his "calf" injury.

Posted By: Byzdalmyt (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:02 PM

I'm ready for Snuka, jr. to join Dibiase and Rhodes!

Out of those I suspect only Moore has a chance of heading to TNA, and possibly Nick Patrick.

Posted By: Guest#2165 (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:03 PM

I think we can almost definitely count on Nick Patrick showing up in TNA or ROH. Not too sure about the others.

Posted By: Jim Rome (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:04 PM

Uh oh, WWE is cleaning house. Big Daddy V will be back some day. He always seems to have a job waiting.

Posted By: APrince66 (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:04 PM

Nunzio NO!!! All that could have been. We were on the verge of a HHH,Nunzio mega-angle,I could feel it. It would have been the angle that took the WWE back to where it once was during the Attitude era. It would have started with Nunzio showing up on SD and taking HHH's black cherry. From there HHH would enter a mental hospital and return 6 months later to get revenge. It would've been the angle to end all angles. Now, it will never happen. This my friends is a day a dream died.

They released James Curtis, those bastards!

Posted By: O.o (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:08 PM

PAUL LONDON AVOIDS THE CUT AGAIN!

I fully expect ROH to bring Nunzio in for at least an appearance or two, especially considering he's worked for him before.

Posted By: Guest#3165 (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:09 PM

should have put them on ecw and made it into a 2 hour show.

Posted By: drew (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:11 PM

please wwe, dont give TNA any more maineventers! but, i honestly think it was a great move. good ridance to bad rubbish! now all they need to do is get rid of mike knox, hardcore holly, freakin' wanna be hbk spanky, half of the wwe divas, and maybe then we can get great wrestlers like elijah burke back on tv!

Posted By: guest (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:12 PM

I Called it !
hahahhahahha...

who the hell is James Curtis?

Posted By: DumDum (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:13 PM

as the last proud moore-on, that bums me out. with shannon gone and kennedy injured, my motivation to go all the way to venice beach tomorrow morning shrinks even...moore.

i have an idea what my first column might be touching upon...

Big Daddy V
Shannon Moore
Domino
Nunzio

Nick Patrick to nWo!!!

EPIC FIRE!

I was wondering when they would dump Nunzio, the man was a glorified jobber.

Posted By: William (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:30 PM

Hmmmm...

Big Daddy V - it took this long to release Mabel?

Shannon Moore - disappointing, he should have stayed in TNA.

Domino - no loss.

Nunzio - Wow! I thought he was fairly safe, but other than Tommy Dreamer, thats it for old ECW. A great JTTS, and if they had a cruiserweight title, he'd be in the mix.

Nick Patrick - this one just shocked me. Nick Patrick is like Mr. Dependable, can get over an angle, and took a beating when needed in the NWO angle. Disappointing. He'll end up on TNA with Earl Hebner.

~Paul

That's what you get for being the Alliance's referee.

Get ready to see at LEAST 3 of those other names in TNA by the end of the year.

Posted By: Steve307 (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:36 PM

I think Domino and Nunzio should have been kept on, the rest were pretty expendable.

Dominooooooooooooh!

Posted By: Propagandhi (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:38 PM

No way they get rid of Funaki, he is Smackdown's Number 1 Announcer after all.

Posted By: William (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:43 PM

JAMES CURTIS = KC JAMES ...for those who were asking(i had to look it up, haha)

Posted By: Joe (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:44 PM

"Who is James Curtis??"

KC James. He's been pulled up to TV a couple of times for short runs.

Posted By: Guest#3036 (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:45 PM

Heyman was doing a job putting Moore over when WWECW began, then he left and WWE just had CM Punk bury Shannon.

Pathetic. I hope TNA picks him up and gives him a chance. He's a good wrestler.

Posted By: Stupid moves by WWE (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:48 PM

Braden Walker was just added to the list. Way to go Wildcat!

Posted By: CJ (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:51 PM

Shannon Moore? Big Daddy V? Guess I know who's our next X-Division and World champs are!

Posted By: Vince Russo (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 06:57 PM

Im kinda surprised Nick didnt feel the backlash from the fallout his father had when DSW was dropped as a developmental.

Posted By: jj in ks (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 07:02 PM

Nick Patrick was on the juice.....

You guys didn't know?

Why don't you take off those rose colored glasses.

Posted By: the dude (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 07:02 PM

Wasn't BDV sent home to lose weight to extend his career? I wonder if he was losing weight "too slowly". I mean, look at the guy, he's got a LOT of weight to lose, give him some time!

I agree with all the hate for cutting Patrick. Maybe he'll become Kevin Nash's personal ref.

Posted By: beezy (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 07:03 PM

"Wow there goes more of the ECW locker room. Much much longer before they completely blow it up"

I don't get that since Nunzio and maybe James Curtis were the only guys in that list that were on the ECW roster.

Also, James Curtis is the guy that's been regularly jobbing out on ECW the past few weeks. Most recently against Braden Walker in that snoozefest this past Tuesday.

Posted By: Guest#7138 (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 07:09 PM

Dude, Shannon Moore was losing to CM Punk long before Heyman left. He's a small guy with little charisma. He'll never be anything but a cruiserweight.

Posted By: cj (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 07:13 PM

james curtis was a new guy. I was at a RAW house show two weeks ago and saw him wrestle Matt Striker. The crowd was backing him but that could be because everyone dislikes Striker. Curtis did win the match though.

Posted By: jamie (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 07:19 PM

Lets see..

Big Daddy V - Old, not as over, overweight, and not viewed as a threat since he'd been jobbed for years. No Loss.
Shannon Moore - somewhat over, good high flier, but he really had no future out of possibly a secondary title or tag belts with Yang. Mild Loss.
Domino - Not over, not talented. No Loss.
Nunzio - Sorry ECW fans (all 20 of you): He's a jobber, nobody cared about him (casual mark wise) and nobody bought him as a threat. No Loss.

James Curtis - isn't this the second time he got fired? From what I remember - no heat, no talent, No Loss.

Nick Patrick - WHY? Unless there was some political crap going on he should definately have stayed. Patrick could play a good heel referee and was a good ref otherwise.. if he had no talent he'd never have been a senior official. Maybe he had a t-shirt shop too?

No real loss overall though. RAW will do fine, Smackdown will do fine, after the summer vacation ECW will start losing ratings and get cancelled in December as it should have been in December 2007.

And its not like they won't get hired back given time! Shannon got fired and re-hired because he's friendly with the Hardyz and Helms, as one example.

"The Sicilian Shooter" James Maritato will be back in ROH soon enough I presume.

Posted By: Bad Man (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 07:35 PM

I can understand all of these. I'm most disappointed about Moore, he and Jimmy Wang were a fun tag team.

I was a Duece and Domino mark when they debuted and through their tag reign. but when they became jobbers I lost interest, and I was a fan of their smashmouth style and even into the gimmick. but it's over.

Posted By: Davis (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 07:54 PM

It sucks that Moore got released, he got lost in the shuffle once Yang got suspended. They didn't have anything for him, since his tag partner was suspended and there is no cruiserweight title for him to go after.

Posted By: E. Nygma (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 08:01 PM

The X Division Needs To Get Punked Again
Shannon Moore and Nunzio two talented wrestlers would love to see them both end up in either ROH or TNA
Big Daddy V and Domino yes thank you god now both of you please retire
James Curtis a pretty talented guy TNA or ROH should give him a tryout match
Nick Patrick Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Nuu What shall Smackdown do without the Mantits of Mass Destruction making such a devastating imp.......wait he never appeared on Smackdown........Oh.

Nick Patrick will show up in a month on Smackdown, reffing matches with a black ski mask on.

And do you know what's REALLY Impressive? Striker put Curtis, a JTTS to soon be released, over to the hilt, and made him look a star on Tuesday.

STRIKER FOR SMACKDOWN!

Posted By: ButchReedMark (Guest)  on August 08, 2008 at 09:34 PM

James Curtis was KC James in a jobber tag team. I think Michelle McCool was their manager with that teach gimmick. He was squashed on ECW a couple weeks ago by the Evan Bourne.

Don't care about any of those except Nunzio (very underrated) and Domino (he is way better than Deuce who only gets by on who his daddy is.

They also need to get rid of:

The Highlanders
Hardcore Holly
Charlie Haas
Snitsky
Armando Estrada
Colin Delaney
Ricky Ortiz
Boogeyman
Hornswoggle
Mike Knox
Lena Yada
Tiffany
Eve
Kenny Dykstra
The Great Khali
Vladimir Kozlov
and
Vickie Gerrero

There is a plenty of worthy talent in FCW and indies to replace the above.

I know whats done is done... But I'm sad to see Moore go just because the E could have done so much more with Moore & Yang vs. Miz & Morrison. We never got to see a ladder match :-(

Nunzio is a solid worker and there was no reason to can him. I'm not ashamed to say that I'm sad to see Big Daddy V go. He makes awesome faces and I always enjoyed when he'd get grossly overpushed.

Curtis and Walker are no big losses. Ditto for Domino. Surprised to see Nick Patrick go!!!

Big Daddy V got cut because his man-boobs would have made any show he was on PG-13, at the least.

Shannon Moore got cuz he was making Hornswaggle look too tall.

Nunzio got cut after missing too many dates while filming 'Tropic Thunder.' (Also, see above.)

Domino, cut cuz he didn't deliver. Get it? Domino didn't...>groan<

And, Chris Harris sucked so much he got James Curtis cut as well after their last match.

Nick Patrick...? Who gives a damn about refs? I'm shocked he wasn't named GM.

The only two names on that list, that TNA should try to bring in are Nick Patrick and James Curtis.

You can never go wrong by adding another experienced referee, to help out the other young refs that you're developing.

Also with James Curtis/Kasey James finally free, and Cornette still holding a good amount of pull in TNA, hopefully we can see TNA pair "James Curtis" with Cassidy Riley/Kassidy James, and finally deliver the awesomeness that was The James Boys(OVW), on the national level.

In my opinion, the rest of the names on the list don't add anything to the TNA product, especially because it looks like TNA wants to get Abyss away from just working hardcore with the "monsters".

The James Boys in TNA! Book it

When Dean Malenko says Nunzio is one of the best workers in the world, of course he wont be able to keep a job! TNA is going to be getting some fresh faces. James Curtis is pretty talented and can easily find a job in TNA. Nunzio and Danielson is going to be great.

To the poster who listed people the WWE should get rid of. Who is Tiffany?

Why Shannon Moore? Jimmy Wang fucked up so why wasn't he released instead? Don't care about the others being cut, but Shannon was awesome

And for reals, who is James Curtis?

Damn no Kennedy on this list.

I can only think they got rid of Nick Patrick because he'll be on a lot of money for a ref. ANd Vince being cheap will hire a cheaper ref even if they aren't as good as Nick.

"To the poster who listed people the WWE should get rid of. Who is Tiffany?"

She's Teddy Long's blonde bimbo assistant on ECW.

At least now we can get an FBI reunion on the indy circuit with Nunzio and Mamaluke. I wouldn't mind seeing them in ROH again.

Chris Harris got himself and James Curtis fired. Next they are going to torch the ring and sow salt in the arena as well as shooting every second person who was in the front row.

Dumb asses should've released Charlie Haas.

Nunzio?? WTF??? This guy has been so loyal to the company and has done so much for them behind the scenes. It was so great to see him on TV every now and then. Big Daddy V? Is Michael Hayes behind this??? Shannon? Don't get it - there is actually some potential there, but I guess WWE knows best. Still pissed about Nunzio!

Does no one else think James Curtis could have done well if given a push. I really liked the guy.

I actually thought deuce and domino were a good team but here we go again wwe don't do tag teams like they used too. its said cause tag team wrestling used to be the thing to watch. now every time they get a team with a half a shot they break them up. when will wwe learn?

No! Not DOMINO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who the hell is James Curtis

Nunzio and Tony Mamaluke (Return of the FBI) and "The Prince of Punk" Shannon Moore could each fit well in TNA. Lord knows the X Division could use them for, something.

"""Lord knows the X Division could use them for, something."""

Like an 8 sides of steel Italian back alley brawl and panties match to headline the next PPV?

Ill Miss Big Daddy V. He was so terrible but it was such a circus act to catch whenever he appeared on my screen.

"Who the hell is James Curtis?"
