WWE News: Foley and Summerslam, Adamle to Wrestle, Sid and More

August 26, 2008 | Posted by Larry Csonka

– Mick Foley not appearing at Summerslam was purely a Vince McMahon call. There were plans to have Foley involved in the match, partly to play off of his angle with Edge and partly to play off of the 10th anniversary of his 1998 King of the Ring Hell in a Cell match with Undertaker. Vince simply told the creative team that they were moving in a new direction without Foley.

– Mike Adamle has gotten together with a new personal trainer in Chicago, one that works with many top athletes because Adamle will eventually be wrestling.

– The Great Khali’s knees are said to be in very bad shape, but he is refusing to get surgery on them.

– There is no confirmation that Sid Vicious (48) is coming back to WWE. John Laurinaitis has been putting Vicious over a lot in creative meetings lately and has really been pushing the idea of a return. The overall feeling is that Laurinaitis really wants to sign him and give him a good spot.

– Matt Cappotelli, who is currently battling cancer, is still under contract with the company. He was backstage at Summerslam visiting with friends.
