Hulk Hogan to be Honored by the National Indian Gaming Association
Posted by Ramon Aranda on 10.22.2008

(Press Release)

On Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 12 noon, Hulk Hogan will be honored by National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA) Chairman Ernie Stevens, Jr. in conjunction with the Global Gaming Expo 2008 in Las Vegas, NV. He will receive the "Humanitarian Award" for his work on behalf of the "Dreamseekers" Foundation.

Hulk and Dreamseekers have committed to building the non-profit organization in partnership with Indian Country to provide needed assistance to Native American youth and their families.

The Hulkamania Experience, a multilevel progressive video-slot series based on the adventures of the iconic superstar, is expected to debut at the 2008 Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. As a part of the foundation's fundraising initiative, a portion of the proceeds from The Hulkamania Experience(TM) will go towards the various health and education initiatives yet to be determined by the foundation.

The game, developed in conjunction with Rainmaker Gaming Technology and ID Interactive, LLC, represents a fundamentally new approach towards community involvement in Indian Country. "We're thrilled to work with such a worthy cause, and such an incredible superstar," said ID's Director of Marketing, Ike Mcfadden.

"American Indian children are more likely to live in poverty than any other racial or ethnic group in this country," Hogan noted, citing recent U.S. Census Bureau data. "It's time to change that, and I'm proud to be associated with that effort," said Hulk Hogan.

im just glad i read this before all the negative comments about hogan. you know some internet nerd sees Hogans name and is just sitting thinking of how to mention his family problems. This is quite the noble cause which you don't hear about too much, usually its autism this and darfur that. Hogan spends some of his time with no-profit org. to help out the less- fortunate now What ya going to do brother?

you can knock the man for how he conducts business and his family life but he does take his charitable work seriously and has continuted to do it even away from the ring. and not just PR that the wwe has their wrestlers do.

ok someone clear this up for me. i thought these people hated being called indians and wanted to be called native americans. so then why the hell would they call themselves the national indian gaming association.

oh and could someone point out that the acronym is NIGA. i mean i'm not offended by it or anything, i find it hilarious that hulk hogan is getting the niga award.

"The Hulkamania Experience"?

So many jokes...

Wow.

You throw enough money at enough causes at eventually you get an award.

I grew up an impoverished Native American child and I was a huge Hogan fan at the time. I'm glad to see something like this happen.

Cue idiots screaming how Hogan is the devil and his son is the Antichrist and any other insulting bullshit they can think of.

Hogan is a good charitable guy. I honestly think that his main problem in life was his pushy wife. Even Ric Flair who didn't always see eye to eye with hogan (to put it nicely) was impressed by his devotion to Charity.

Hulk Hogan was overated. He could only do about 5 moves(like Cena), had to be carried in matches, and had zero personality. Ric Flair was the real reason for the wrestling BOOM of the 80's.

Indeed.

"Hulk Hogan was overated. He could only do about 5 moves(like Cena), had to be carried in matches, and had zero personality. Ric Flair was the real reason for the wrestling BOOM of the 80's. "

Yeah, I remember the issue of Sports Illustrated with Ric Flair on it that was the second highest issue of the title for that year, after the swimsuit edition... Wait, that was Hogan... But what about Flair being mentioned on Miami Vice... wait, that was Hulk Hogan too... Oh yeah, how about Ric Flair at the International Toy Fair in NYC, advertising the first of what was to be an absolute onslaught of wrestling related toys and merchandise... WHOOOps, that was Hulk Hogan as well.

Ric Flair's Rock and Wrestling Cartoon?
Ric Flair headlining WrestleMania over and over?
Ric Flair being the inspiration for the term "Mania" to be added to contemporary vernacular?

I could go on, but you get the point.

Hulkamania is still running wild... for those of us who are thankful for the hours and hours of magic and enjoyment that he gave us.

Thanks Hulkster!

Oh THOSE Indians. I thought it was the country being major marks again.

how embarrassing. being indian myself, I can safely say that I would prefer to watch XPW than this old hag Hogan.

Well, thanks you, National Indian Gaming whatthefuckever, thanks for the pigeon-holing yet again.

Whatcha gonna do brother, when hasbeeen-a-mania permeates your television with his fingerpoke of DOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM

disrespecting the charity work of anyone doesn't make them look bad, but the person disrespecting that work.

i feel sorry for davis and christy, well...not really.

they are obviously to poor to give charity and can only receive it, otherwise they would know just how good helping others can feel.

i will drop a few extra pennies in the salvation army buckets for you two this year, and maybe you won't have to stand in line at the soup kitchen for your christmas dinner.

oh, btw, regarding ric flair...he has only had 4 moves and 1 sloppy bump since sting retired him, so if hogan only has 5 moves now, he is doing a lot better.
