So I guess Batista = ratings. NOT!

Can't blame it on the World Series nor Monday Night Football. Best get the belt back on Jericho quick!

Talk about being caught with egg on your face.

I bet Vince and his butt buddies, Paterson and Briscoe, are pulling what little hair they have left out of their heads

I sure as hell did my part by not watching anything but Bourne vs Rey.

Time for a new direction-HIRE RUSSO!

Him and Vince did wonders in the 90s, it's the only way.

EPIC SHITTY ASS RATING!

I hope the WWE crashes and burns. I can't bare to watch the promotion that I once loved be reduced to childish garbage.

Everyone was watching real sports not entertainers... Myself I was enjoying the new TNA Impact set... it looks great and the wrestling was very good.

I hope the ratings continue to tank.

You wont have those kids forever, Vinnie!

Everyone has to finally come to terms with the fact that professional wrestling/sports entertainment just isn't "cool" anymore or at least not as appealing to the masses as it once was. It's not just a WWE or TNA thing. All across the board, wrestling is simply not as big as it used to be and for lack of a better term, today, sports entertainment sucks plain and simple. The negative stigmas that have plagued wrestling since the very beginning cannot be shaken off now more than ever and the rating trends of the past 6 years prove this.

Hey Batitsa,

the only thing you equal now is EPIC DECLINE!

Bring Back W-R-E-S-T-L-I-N-G!

yes. by now WWE has realized that batista sucks

Posted By: wylung (Guest)  on October 28, 2008 at 08:31 PM

Well, yeah! Batista's going to need a legitimate threat to make his championship reign even the least bit interesting. Batista and Jericho just don't have that chemistry together. Granted, they've cut good promos. But good promos can only get you so far.

Batista has had so very good battles with Triple H and Undertaker, so he CAN put on a great show, but like everyone else, he needs to be booked properly! For fuck's sake, bring in one of your powerhouses (Kane or Mark Henry would be best) and put Batista in jeopardy. It's just no fun when you know the champion is going to breeze through the match before the bell even rings. I mean, the reason Jeff Hardy Vs. Triple H was so good was because it actually appeared that Jeff could dethrone the king. That's the kind of feud Batista needs to get into!

Batista = EPIC RATINGS!

...Oh, wait, wait, actually, now that I look at it, that's EPIC FAIL.

Ratings would be higher if I had signed for more than that one shot deal!

I hope Vince gives up on "entertaining" us, if he ever expects to be calssified as an entertainment touring group, he should really get into the entertaining part of the game. I did not watch the main event, for that matter I usually do not watch RAW main events. I hate tag team main events with no real tag teams in it. Nothing gets accomplished with this most of the time. One on one is the way to go, unless you are promoting a Triple threat match or something. That is why I stopped watching SmackDow, so long ago...and now Raw is doing the same thing, so may be we will cut back on the RAW watching.

I hope WWE fails l9ol lol lol omg if it falls, tna falls with it and no more wrestlig pawned ftw epic sell or is it fail? OMG SO FUNNI

Fucking morons. I swear, some of you need to stick with middle school or this world is fucked. We have to support WWE and hope the numbers go up, this way TNA can also benefit. If WWE falls, don't be idiotic enough to believe TNA would fill the role, it would go down with it. Morons.

EPIC FAIL!

Knew they were going to get hammered. A great MNF with Titans and Colts where the Titans didn't pull away until late; a historic World Series game where there was morbid fascination with the two teams battling the weather; a new Heroes; CBS and their comedy block. No way WWE can compete with all that unless they put on a hell of a show, and it sounds like they didn't.

WWE is straight terrible.

Oh gee...2.89. rounded to 2.9 - what was the rating last week?

2.9

So if Batista can't draw as champion...neither can Chris Jericho.

So fuck off Batista-haters.

Lost still has my attention

and speaking of failure, how high have TNA's ratings gotten with Jarrett, Foley, Sting, Angle, Joe, and...well...let's just say their entire roster?

oh...right...i forgot that this the time for the TNA marks to feel all superior because Raw has fluctuating that are still almost 3 times that of iMPACT.

seriously, some of you need to stay on your ritilin.

Posted By: Guest#4825 (Guest)  on October 28, 2008 at 11:51 PM

Batista sucks but at this point it doesn't matter who they put the belt on, ratings will stay in the same range (high 2's - low 3's) .
WWE as a whole can't draw because marketing to kids & going even more towards entertainment is gonna drive away the die-hard fans, who are about the only people still watching.

Posted By: Angry_Stoner (Guest)  on October 28, 2008 at 11:55 PM

I'm not going to bash WWE or TNA. There is no excuse for this rating like Monday Night Football, World Series, Presidential debate etc... The FACT is that most people are just not that interested in wrestling anymore. We are the diehards and watch no matter what. It has nothing to do with who is the champ. Wrestling no longer appeals to the mainstream casual fan, accept it.

Posted By: Guest#8387 (Guest)  on October 29, 2008 at 12:03 AM

Heroes + MNF + World Series = 3 things more interesting than RAW. Sorry Vinny Mac, you need to step it up hombre.

Posted By: Guest#5021 (Guest)  on October 29, 2008 at 12:12 AM

It's official. CM Punk as Champ = ratings (or at least above 3.0 ratings XD)

Posted By: guesthehe (Guest)  on October 29, 2008 at 12:13 AM

That's just what wrestling is nowadays, its not hot or popular with the mainstream. Hopefully it can cycle back to that one day and we can see high ratings again, but until then, nothing they do is going to get much higher than a 3. That's just how it is, and is still a respectable rating. Beats the hell out of most cable television show ratings.

The 'epic fail' people are epic morons.

Posted By: Deathpool (Guest)  on October 29, 2008 at 12:37 AM

I love how the TNA botz bash this ~2.9 rating.

Especially when you all get slightly above that in a three week combined span.

I'll tell you...I'll take a 2.8 every single week, as opposed to a 3.3 every three weeks combined.

XD

Ken B couldn't blow WWE more if his lips were tattooed on Vinny Mac's cock.

Posted By: Dante (Guest)  on October 29, 2008 at 01:23 AM

Sarcasm rant on

OMG Another 2.9 rating. It is over. WWE is going to go out of business forever. No more Raw. No more Smackdown. No more Wrestlemania. All you WWE marks will soon either have to watch TNA or quit watching wrestling altogether because all you will have is TNA with Don West as the announcer and Vince Russo as one of the writers. The world will be a better place with TNA being the ONLY game in town. RIP WWE.

Sarcasm rant off.

I have a feeling that that is what we are going to get from the TNA fanboys any day now.

PS: Raw was actually a good show with 2 great matches, a decent women's match and a so so main event. Those who say it wasn't a good show are the whiny little crybabies who will bash ANYTHING WWE does even if it was good.

I've been a loyal viewer since 1985 and Monday I picked the World Series first, then switched to Monday Night Football and only caught the Bourne-Rey match and the end of the main event...I guess a lot of other people did the same

"Blowing WWE?" Are you shitting me? I haven't been able to make it through a complete show of theirs in almost a year; with TNA putting the belt on Sting, I don't watch much wrestling right now period save for DVDs.

Like I said, Raw would have had to put on a hell of a show to compete with all the stuff going on last night, and they haven't put on a "hell of a show" in quite a long time--except for CM Punk's surprise title win a few months ago, Raw has been turdly for a long time now.

Posted By: Ken B. (Guest)  on October 29, 2008 at 08:35 AM

At least TNA can keep their viewers, the WWE audience is dropping off like flies.

ratings= John Cena

Posted By: Crainlizer (Guest)  on October 29, 2008 at 09:33 AM

To compare WWE ratings to TNA as some measure of success is absolutely ridiculous. WWE has much more money behind it, is far more recognizable and has a history of success.

I don't think you can blame this one on Batista. Don't get me wrong, the guy is awful, but ratings have been in this range for a few months, and in a downward spiral for a while.

I was watching the Rock's DVD last week and it hit me how mediocre wrestling has become. The WWE has never truly recovered from the loss of The Rock, Steve Austin and Mic Foley as regular wrestlers. In addition, the losses of Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Christian, Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho (temporarily) really hurt the depth of the company. There are so many guys on the roster that I just have no interest in seeing - Batista, Randy Orton, Priceless, Kennedy, Mark Henry, Great Khali, Kozlov, Cryme Tyme, JBL, etc. The wrestlers I do enjoy watching are, for the most part, stuck in these awful storylines or doing nothing (see: Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy, MVP). Getting 30 minutes of entertainment from a 2 hour show has become an achievement for the WWE. Once they address that problem, ratings will increase.

BH is right, WWE has money+history.

Stop apologizing for the ratings, or at least stop using football as an excuse. They got a 2.5 in JULY 2007.

I agree with this. It's very hard to replace some of the talent listed.
