"WWE has gotten some mainstream media coverage for the news that they have signed VH1 reality star David "Punk" Otango to a developmental deal."

Huh. I've no idea who that guy is.

Not all of them can be the Miz.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that I like sex and must keep the girlfriend happy, I watched that atrocious show he was on. The guy has the charisma of Al Gore on morphine.

But they could have him feud with CM over the "Punk" name just like Booker and Big fought over "T" in WCW.

BOOK IT!

I usually hate TNA but I have to admit that is a pretty good card. If only Team 3D was a part of MEM and in the Tag Team Title bout.

isn't Punk engaged to that Jennifer Hudson american Idol/ oscar winner whose family was just murdered?

yeah, my girlfriend make me watch all that stuff too

does "punk" have any background in wrestling whatsoever? he's a big dude, looks like a cross between bobby lashleys physique and marc mero's feminine facial features. miz proved a valuable commodity, lets see where this one takes us.

I am all for 3D in the MEM but I desperatly want to see Beer Money vs MCMG on PPV, give them some good time and we will have a MOTN right there.

Punk is a bodybuilder and an attorney, with a degree from Harvard law. If nothing else, he'll be at least as good as Big Zeke. Plus, look at their last Harvard grad - he had a bright future until he was forced into early retirement due to concussions.

And yes, he is apparently engaged to Jennifer Hudson. Talk about bad timing for this announcement.

TNA is laying off the gimmick matches at least. card looks better than Bound for Glory or No Surrender I think.

I thought Sheik vs Rhino is just a GRUDGE MATCH

" VH1 reality star David "Punk" Otango"

Who?

I'm outraged that WWE signed this douchebag instead of _______ (insert indie wrestling darling). Seriously, there has to be someone more deserving than this freak. Hell, sign Midget Mac and have him feud with Swaggle.

Punk was on the second season of VH1's "I Love New York" last year.

Posted By: mrlibra (Guest)  on October 31, 2008 at 05:16 PM

They would've been better off trying to turn New York into a Diva.

Posted By: Bren Oliver (Guest)  on October 31, 2008 at 05:42 PM

Thank you, mrlibra -- that clears that up, at least. I still have no idea who he is, but that doesn't really matter.

i was hoping WWE signed 12pack instead of punk ,his charisma is lance storm like

They better get Punk a manager, because he's got no mic game. He may be a big dude, but he's two octaves away from Mike Tyson.

Better that he go by his last name, since 'Punk' may be trademarked by VH1.

"Coming to the ring, the tag-team of Otango and Umaga!"
