Most outdated roster for a WWE game ever!

B. Brian Blair? I have no respect for a punk!

So I guess Blair is humbled.
Watch your back for the Iron Shiek, Brian!

I was thinking of buying it this year after a few years of not doing so. But being British I like playing as the British wrestlers, and since Paul Burchill and Katie Lea have been left out, we've only been left with William Regal. And as good as he is it just isn't enough. It's especially annoying when you consider that Ashley is in the game and not only was she always terrible she's been gone for ages, as has Trevor Murdoch. Plus having Kelly Kelly in the game with her complete lack of talent puts me off too. So I don't think I'll bother again.

Wow. Am I right in thinking that's only four people on that game roster no longer with the company? V, Ashley, Cade, and Murdoch?
Usually there's a much higher ratio of 'not there anymore', isn't there?

For the game, Jillian Hall, Hornswoggle, Curt Hawkins, and Zack Ryder are unlockable characters. Also, Charlie Haas, Ted DiBiase (Jr.), Super Crazy, Evan Bourne, and a few alternate character attires will be downloadable content.

I must say I've always been a fan of SvR, Smackdown, and Raw games. But lately I've been a bit dissapointed. Even though the last few games were amazing graphically and in every other aspect, I find it that it isn't that interesting :(. It feels like I would be doing the same storyline over and over again. I mean how many times do we have to battle against Vince McMahon or any of the other members of his family??? And the fact that most of the original ECW guys gone, it just wouldn't feel the same using a chair without Sabu or using the singapore cane without the Sandman. For me, unless they make some dirastic changes to the game, sadly SvR 2008 was the last one for me

Yeah, I'm suprised V is still in as he has been cut since what... Wrestlemania? They did a good job of using a roster still employed by the company this year...

i hope u can turn off injuries, so kennedy can be champ in the storyline mode...
fuckin dick

Posted By: scolsey (Guest) on November 06, 2008 at 10:31 AM
So have they scrapped the Legends completely due to the Legends of Wrestlemania game???
Posted By: Jay (Guest) on November 06, 2008 at 10:46 AM
No Big Show, but Jimmy Wang Yang on the DS? Am I right that it's also not going to have any interesting gimmick matches like previous DS games either (elimination chamber, hell in a cell, etc.)?

remember kids, you are not allowed to place HHH in any situations where he may appear to look weak.

"Plus having Kelly Kelly in the game with her complete lack of talent puts me off too. So I don't think I'll bother again."
Nah, she's much better than that. And as someone who is on Raw every week, she should be in the game.
Posted By: Guest#6042 (Guest) on November 06, 2008 at 12:01 PM
I wonder how many of them on there will be gone from WWE when the game comes out.
Posted By: Michael (Guest) on November 06, 2008 at 12:11 PM
Man if theres no Ted Dibiase Jr, then I have no reason to play this game.
Posted By: Tony (Guest) on November 06, 2008 at 12:31 PM
i Remember when Kelly Kelly was to be eye candy only in the ECW. However, as turned off as I am to her look I think she has came a long way to not have any prior wrestling training experance. On the other hand she has a long way to go and is not WWE game or main line stat yet. give her a few years and then MAYBE. SvR 08 ruined any chance of another game buy for me. Until they get the story line like in the ones with the rock and hogan story line and a interesting story line I will not be buying. Hell, i don't even order PPV because they are lame and just another TV free show in my opinion. will WWE be here in 800 more shows? Now I give them 3-4 years and they are out of here because of the talent that is going off and the creative team sux. They need rick flair as GM of raw or smackdown adn they need a strong faction like the 4 horsemen or evolution. If they dont listen to the fans soon they can kiss it goodbye.
Posted By: nosrv (Guest) on November 06, 2008 at 12:57 PM
the game is good except the morons made it like last year online if your caw has any letters or anything NOT online usable so you probably have to have a crappy boring looking caw online. same as the highlight reel and uploading your reel if it has a caw like that you can not upload it its total garbage thq fucks up again.

Brisish people are actually upset that William Regal is the only British person on the roster? They are also upset about the fact that Paul and Katie Lee Burchill are left out despite the fact that they havent done jack shit and have been jobbing all year? Yeah that makes a lot of sense

I'd have to say that PS3 has way better quality, but XBOX360 is a much better investment overall. Its got way more and cooler games, and its much cheaper. And the quality isn't too far behind PS3, just slightly.

Where are the legends for smackdown vs. raw 2009?

PS3. I have both and the PS3 is clearly better. Everybody has their prefrence and this one is mine.

That is the oddest comment I have ever read on a wrestling website. And think of all the ground THAT covers!

And PS3 guy

it should be noted that Kevin Beckner drank a bottle of delicious Becks beer and then fucked Brian Blair up the ass with the bottle, then did the same to his mother and father but not his wife, because he respects her very much.

Watch out, B. Brian Blair, you no good son of a bitch, here comes my mighty Iranian CLUB!
Posted By: The IRON Sheik (Guest) on November 06, 2008 at 08:14 PM
Bullshit!
No Kevin Thorn on svr
Posted By: Psycho (Guest) on November 06, 2008 at 10:06 PM
This game is awesome, i have it on xbox 360, it is a definate buy, in story mode the commentators actually talk about the storylines. Also raw commentators are jr and jerry lawler(who looks weird), ecw is joey styles and taz, smackdown is michael cole and jonathon coachman
Posted By: Alex (Guest) on November 06, 2008 at 11:49 PM
I'm surprised Jaime Noble was left out again. The two people he's feuded with all year long both made the cut.
Posted By: K. Bett (Guest) on November 07, 2008 at 12:46 AM
The DS Roster is a bit of a joke. Wasn't Big Daddy V sacked? Yet he still get's the shout ahead of Mark Henry. Lol. Plus Holly, Jimmy Wang Yang and Burke. Wow, high profile.
Still the non DS version seems pretty decent.

"Brisish people are actually upset that William Regal is the only British person on the roster? They are also upset about the fact that Paul and Katie Lee Burchill are left out despite the fact that they havent done jack shit and have been jobbing all year? Yeah that makes a lot of sense"
Oh yeah? Like Victoria and Burke haven't been jobbing for...what, their ENTIRE CAREER. Oh yeah and I forgot Jimmy Wang Yangs high profile career and flawless win/loss record.
Sure if they were expecting to have a mostly-jobber take the place of a top tier wrestler or even a mid-carder. But there are out and out jobbers on this roster already. Why can't people have preferences or want more of their countrymen their when viable (and it IS viable). Don't be a d**k about it.
Posted By: Fenris (Guest) on November 07, 2008 at 05:57 AM
NO LEGENDS?
WTF?
Posted By: wwe fan 1 (Guest) on November 07, 2008 at 08:07 AM
Who cares if there aren't any legends? We just make everyone in CAW mode anyway. Also, don't forget about create a finisher which hopefully is as awesome as it sounds.
I also could care less about the roster. I'll be having 5 star classics with Hennig, Rude, and Ric Flair circa 1989 in no time.
Posted By: JBone (Guest) on November 07, 2008 at 10:54 AM
Miz and Morrison are split up in the DS version? Odd.
Posted By: Bucksinnc (Guest) on November 07, 2008 at 11:49 AM
The create a wrestler normally get's you most characters you want. But you won't get proper commentary for them, which does take a bit from it IMHO.
Wrestling games peaked with Wrestlefest anyway. :)
Posted By: Fenris (Guest) on November 07, 2008 at 02:44 PM
From what I've read on the forums for their next game, WWE Legends of Wrestlemania, you can import SvR09 wrestlers(oops, I mean entertainers) into it. So maybe they'll have a way to bring Legends from that game into SvR09. Or maybe they'll just start nailing us with buying 2 games a year now.
