TNA News: Possible Releases, Frank Trigg, Kurt Angle DVD Listing and More

Lots of Wednesday TNA news!
- There is talk that some of the under card wrestlers that are not currently being used could be released soon. There is always talk of this sort of thing, but it seems that there is more discussion of it lately.
- Frank Trigg was at the UFC show this weekend and when asked, he said that he would be back with TNA soon and working with Kurt Angle.
- There have been talks with TNA and New Japan, which may see TNA send talent to the January Tokyo Dome event.
- Former TNA performer Sonny Siaki released the following statement today:
On behalf of The Siaki Family, a BIG THANK YOU goes out to Dixie Carter and The TNA family. I dont know about that Kurt Angle DVD.Everytime I see that I know he thinks about his legacy and pulls out Vince's card..lol..
Ill buy it anyways..Fuck wrestler's mental health.
Frank Trigg sucks other than looking like Angle what does he bring to the table?
I think lance rock and cute kip better watch their step backstage cuz they're the only 2 people I can see them cutting.

Talk about forcing Samoa Joe down our throats. Apparentally Angle had a good match with Abyss a few years ago..why isnt that on there?
And why isnt there more AJ?
It makes me sad face. Not that I was going to buy it anyway...but still.
Also, am I right in thinking that you can watch Sting win the TNA title, and then lose it in one DVD?

I have no problem with TNA getting rid of unused talents like Lance Rock or Sharkboy, but I really hope that they keep Sonjay!!!

I thought TNA low card talent were on play and pay contracts. Only if they appear do they actually get anything. So what are you losing by keep them under contract? Maybe cutting Sting or Abyss would free up some funds, just a suggestion.

I understand putting the first two Joe matches but really that should have been in.
The aforementioned Abyss match was Angle's first TNA match (Impact special three days before the first Joe match) and it was very good. I really wish that was here.

Why would I buy a TNA DVD. I just started not fast forwarding on my DVR so much. But still, can someone tell the wrestlers that when they are cutting a promo against their enemy they do not need to say that person's name...for example..Sting when talking about Joe...eh em.....:Joe, you show no respect. And Joe, you need to thank the people that paved the way. Joe, look me in the clown face....Joe, I just sharted"

Yes, sonjay needs to go as much as kip. His half-way decent ring skills don't make him worth keeping. He's got nothing to him. He's not "marketable". It's been over a year and the guru gimmick has all but disappeared.
And what's the deal with wearing one batting glove? And he needs to start shaving his head-his hair is just sad

6 out of the 10 matches have Samoa Joe involved, WOW!
The Kurt Angle vs. Yuji Nagata is without a doubt, the best match on that list imo.
And mr #1derful, TNA just signed Team 3D to a 3 year deal..So they wouldn't cut them. Plus, Team 3D has "name value" and TNA is all about that name value.

The fans really love Rhino though, shame they can't take advantage of that. He's part of that dead middle roster. I'm hoping the Legends Title would take care of that.

Yeah TNA pays guys per show only with no fixed amount of shows.
Some guys have deals straight through Spike that have guarentees.Like Sting,Angle and Foley.
I think even Nash and Christian have pay per show deals.
Good cuz thats one of the things that killed WCW.
About who's getting released?
It can only be Cute Kip and Lance Rock,Maybe Rave,SoCal Val,Sharkboy and maybe even Daniels to to that list.
TNA only seems to drop guys when they have to and try to hold on to everyone they use regurlary.
Jeff Jarret is like a mother wolf and doesnt like people leaving him according to alot of people.

Rhino is a brand name and he's semi maineventer/upper mid carder.
He has a SHITLOAD of merch too.
Doubtful he leaves but they wont pay him big money either.
They damn sure wont cut him.
Recognizable names will always have a TNA contract waiting for them.
You have to be an asshole backstage or want way more money to be released over there.
Ex.Hall,Shamrock,DDP,Test,Rikishi.
They were let go cuz they were fucking assholes.

^I disagree on 3D they're known.They're not going anywhere and they signed a new deal this January.
Sharkboy will be released because they want to be more serious and he's rarley used anymore which in TNA means released 90 percent of the time.

Yes, team 3d just resigned and have a "name", but they're long passed their "shelf-life". There are many "names" in wrestling, it doesn't mean they're a positive part of the company. Team 3d are nowhere near over with the fans as they were years ago. They're totally out of shape. They should open a wrestling school and pass the torch.
And yes, sadly, sharkboy probably will be let go and we've probably seen the last of curryman. Doesn't mean I have to like it.

yea, but half the merchandise is in his basement, and the other half is sold only to pay restitution to the plant he beat the shit out of in the hotel lobbyu just before he was cut by the WWE.

Actually, I have considered buying a tna dvd but I don't know, theres something about it...kind of like buying a porno without any popshots on it..entertaining for what it is, but really no point...
plus you have don west screaming his guts out over the wrestler intros, kind of ruins the mood...the fat freak

If you have the PPV's on DVD then there is virtually no point in the Kurt Angle DVD - it's a bit like a band releasing a supposed best of album with a couple of random new tracks thrown in.

TNA had a chance to make a great kurt angle dvd, but Fucked it up big time. 5 one on one matches with Samoa joe is overkill. I had hope they just put the 3 matches he beat joe(Genesis,Final Resolution & Hard Justice) & save the other 2 winning joe matches for a second samoa joe dvd. Where are the matches with Christian Cage. Angle & Cage had two great matches early this year and i had expected at least one of them to be on this dvd. Also, No Abyss, No 1 on 1 match with AJ Styles, yet i have to sit through the BFG Sting match again which i got on the BFG dvd + the Best Of 2007 dvd. I know everyone will agree with me that the only kurt angle dvd people want to see is a 3 disc WWE dvd Set with all his great matches(1999-2006), but it won't happen no time soon if kurt stays with TNA.

It's apparent that none of you care about Sonny Siaki, who was a pretty good wrestler.
He gave up his career for his brother and I am glad that TNA, regardless of their stupid booking, is run with a heart and gave much love to a former talent. The last line didn't give much props to WWE...sarcasm maybe?
