Chris Bell Comments on the Passing of his Brother
Posted by Larry Csonka on 12.15.2008

-Chris Bell sent out the following email regarding the passing of his brother Mike Bell:
My older brother Michael aka MAD DOG in the wrestling world, passed away yesterday from unknown causes. He was residing at a sober living place in Orange County and was celebrating 60 days of being clean and sober from any drugs or alcohol. His roommates found him dead in his room at about 2:30pm yesterday and he was pronounced dead on the spot by medical experts. The cause of death is unknown and does not appear to be self inflicted.

My brother was my true hero growing up and I always wanted to be big and strong like him. He was the inspiration for me to make my movie Bigger Stronger Faster* because I saw how the American Dream negatively affected his sense of self worth. I will always remember my brother as the nicest guy in the world that sometimes got caught up in the wrong things. I am so sad right now over his passing. He was on his way to getting his life back on track and he was taken away from us at such a young age. My family thanks everyone who has sent emails and called. It really means a lot.

I Love you Michael.

Your little brother,
Christopher

I know it's sad & tragic that a man died and all, but...who exactly are/were Mike and Chris Bell?

Fuck some of you assholes for your disrespectful comments. Think about someone's feelings before you speak, and maybe...just maybe...put yourself in their shoes. Man, it's amazing how bloody ignorant unintelligent people can be.

So he used steroids so what? Big deal. So did Arnold.

To me, in the documentary, he appeared to have a lot. More than I have. Beautiful loving wife, family business, and he had more than 15mins of fame... I realise it's cause unknown, but perhaps he could have better appreciated what he had?

So.. the guy made a movie about his brother using steroids? Way to cash in on irony!! Dexter Morgan cared more about his brother than this guy..

I cant say how I feel for Chris, Mark and the Bell's family loss. I only know that Mike was a good person to me, and held respect for everyone around him. Seeing him always brought a smile to my face. Thanks for the laughs, good times and commeraderee. I will not forget you. Although it has been some time, you will be missed bro.

Chris ...

We are so very sorry for your loss. We know how much you loved the Mad Dog and he, of course, loved you! You and your family are in our thoughts, our prayers and a white candle lights the way for your bro! We don't know why these things happen, but they do, like an unfinished piece on the piano bench. It was his journey.

Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable. - The Tin Man

We love you Chris!
