More Saturday news...
- The Hoosier Dome, site of WrestleMania VIII, was demolished today.
- Diamond Dallas Page has an article up on his website talking about his experience at the premiere for The Wrestler in LA last week. Check out the article here.
- The roundtable discussion on the wrestling business that DDP, Roddy Piper, Lex Luger, and Brutus Beefcake took part in is expected to be posted on The Wrestler's website soon and will likely be on the DVD as well. [PWInsider.com]
- Jim Ross has a new blog entry up. Highlights are below.
On Lance Cade: First of all let's clear something up....I am not having a "war of words" with Lance Cade as a wrestling website reported in their more often than not knee jerk fashion. Understand this, I have NO issues with Lance and have expressed that time and again. He is a talented kid trained by one of my favorite people in the world, Shawn Michaels. Lance knows that if I can ever help him down the road that I will. He made a mistake. We have all made them. At my best calculation, he has been exiled from the WWE far less than me. Lance knows how to reach me if he has an issue and our relationship is healthy as far as I am concerned. When Lance was released, many websites gave false and sensationalist reports of why. I clarified the matter as best I knew it. Bottom line is that Lance Cade is a fine young man who has a great deal of talent. I have been steadfast in his corner since he came aboard the WWE, when everyone wasn't by the way, and I will remain so. I hope that Cade returns to the WWE some day to realize his potential. For those that want to make this matter more than it is, go ahead but you are making yourself look bad and creating a story where there is none.
On Trish Stratus: I would say my chances of seeing one of my all time favorite hires, Trish Stratus, in TO is better than 50/50 but that doesn't necessarily mean she will appear on TV. If she does, it likely will be on Raw and it would seem that if she is available that a cameo by the multiple time, former champion would be a good thing. However, understand that I have no idea what is in store for the TV shows on Monday and that me visiting with Trish is largely my wishful thinking. Is that so wrong??
On The Wrestler: "The Wrestler" is getting a ton of pub and it is likely that this film has totally resurrected Mickey Rourke's career which peaked over 20 years ago. Individuals I have talked to who have actually seen the film describe the movie in different ways. Some liked it, some didn't, some thought it was compelling, some thought it was sad, and most thought it was a story of human failure and success and not a specifically a "wrestling movie." I am anxious to see it without question. I am also of the belief, as I have stated before, that it will not adversely affect the current product whatsoever. Many kids won't be able to see it most likely as the "nudity" contained within the film would preclude youngsters from attending. Nonetheless I think the movie will certainly initiate some unique conversations about the genre of wrestling but the film having a lasting adverse affect on how many of us make a living isn't likely.
Oh no! The daily bunch of gibberish from JR is here.

And you took the time to read it and comment on it!

...yeah, so what? It's not a film meant for kids, JR. If I was a parent and I had a child who was a wrestling fan, I wouldn't let him go see this film because he's not the target audience and the content of the film would be beyond his realm of understanding. I get that WWE is pushing a more "family-friendly" product as of late, but that doesn't mean everything associated with the professional wrestling industry has to be "family-friendly" to match.

Actually I thought Mickey was great as Marv in Sin City.

DDP's experience wasn't that exciting, except when the one really fat guy known as The REAL MP asked for triple butter on his popcorn

jr should change his name to bj - because he is a charter member of the vinnie ass-kissing club! What part of family friendly is that? Read bj for a good laugh and too see what senility really means~

Why are there quotation marks around nudity?

funny how JR is kissing Vince's ass by being honest in his opinions because the faggity assed smarks don't like Vince.
fact it ladies, you are just pissed off that the closest you will ever get to the inside knowledge level of JR is reading his blog and then shitting on it because it doesn't say what you want it to.

Does anyone know what the "mistake" was that Lance Cade made?

That's a pretty lame statement. Do you really expect someone to make public statements bashing their place of employment? Most people would be reprimanded or fired for doing so. God forbid the guy act like a professional and even have opinions that agree with his employer. Then he'd actually enjoy his job and that's just not right.

Excellent comprehension skills there. He said it won't effect the WWE product *because* kids aren't able to see it. He never said anything about it sucking that kids can't see it.

Evidently good ol' JR hasn't been watchin too many Micky Rourke movies. I'm being completely unbiased when I say Micky Rourke is one, if not, the most believable actors ever. JR doesn't know shit. I bet he has the 2 pack dvd collection of Rent and Chicago. He wouldn't know a good actor if it bit him on his fatass.

Coincidence? I think not.

I think it's so funny all the smarks here always shit all over JR's blog even though h'es on of WWE's top guys and has more inside knowledge than you guys ever will.
No one knows why Lance Cade was released. He had a seizure on a plan and that's it. He's coming down on all the speculation and half-strung theories everyone's offered up as to why.

that is why you, you little anonymous asshole licking glory holer, are a smark.
nice use of the word illiterate, even if you didn't use it properly or even in the proper context.

And by "read up", he means he reads EVERY news column on 411. Yeah, I wish I had access to that kind of insider info. Oh, wait a minute.
