- In a recent interview with WorldWrestlingInsanity.com , Bobby Lashley was asked about a return to wrestling, and specifically TNA. Here is what he had to say:
"I'll put it this way. I WILL be (professionally) wrestling again. So if there is anything going on with WWE and there's people there who don't want to see me wrestle anymore and I can't be back in WWE, then there will be a TNA. Because I really, like I said before, I really would like to wrestle again. Whether it's years down the line, whether it's short stints now where I do matches here and there while still training to fight, I still want to wrestle. So whoever will take me, I'm willing to work."
- Tonight on Universal HD, Raw will air from 7PM-9PM ET and then be followed by ECW from 9PM-10PM ET. The three-hour block will then repeat as soon as ECW is over at 10PM ET.
- Thursday, January 8th at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta, Georgia, former WWE Women's Champion Amy "Lita" Dumas and her band the Luchagors will be performing.
- Mickey Rourke and Darren Aronofsky were recently on "Popcorn" with Peter Travers. You can watch the video blog, which features discussion of The Wrestler here.
Yeah I am sure Vince will let him come back in and promote himself and once again give nothing back!

Lashley better go on a tear in MMA, because he probably doesn't have the future in pro wrestling that he thinks he does. If he came back right now, some people might buy into an Angle-Lashley feud featuring some amateur wrestling elements, but once they remember that Lashley has almost negative amounts of charisma, he'll be just another musclehead.
He's going to be held up to Lesnar-esque standards by the casual fans (who's that columnist that already calls him "Black Lesnar" - that's fucking awesome). If Bobby gets his ass handed to him a few times in MMA, he comes back to pro wrestling as not only a loser, but a guy who doesn't even appreciate the industry and is crawling back for a paycheck. This could make him a major heel upon his return and pack the seats with fans wanting him to get his ass kicked. I felt that Lashley sucked as a face, but I'd be interested to see what he could do as a heel if he built off the real animosity he felt for WWE right after he bolted. My guess is that he would be bland as a heel, too.

Ha... who does Lashley think he is

"So whoever will take me, I'm willing to work."
What a determined individual. I can see him holding up the cardboard while sitting on the side of the road with his little tin cup. What a joke!

While Bobby Lashley would give WWE another shot at an "All-American" black athlete (rumor has it that they are looking for the next black superstar to transcend stereotypes and diversify their RAW championship roster a bit more), and he would give TNA quite an athlete to throw into the mix with Angle, Morgan, Styles and other raw athletes, I fear that he has to move beyond being the guy who seemingly made a (bad) decision to leave the sport and now wants to come back. Lashley's going to have to make himself viable by clearly commiting to pro wrestling (God bless the UFC champ, but no more Brock's please), and he's going to have to make some fundamental changes IF he returns to the squared circle. While impressed with Lashley's size, power and athleticism, I always thought he was a bit too one-diminsional (ie; boring). Perhaps it was booking. Maybe it was his eerie resemblence to Brock Lesnar. Perhaps he was not very motivated the first time through. Whatever the case, we need to see a new and improved Lashley with a whole new mindset on wrestling, or I'd just as soon not see Bobby Lashley phoning it in in the squared (or hexagonal) circle any time soon.

Lashley vs. RVD for the vacant TNA TItle... but it will only be a one night deal for both.

I'm not surprised Khali won, he's really into the fat ugly ones
Posted By: William (Guest) on January 04, 2009 at 02:11 PM
I'll speak for myself on this one, but I for one do not want to see a Lashley return EVER.
Lash was handed everything, jobbed out deserving guys, had 0.0 charisma, and walked away...f' you!

Way to under cut your own bargaining position there, Bobby.
You're SUPPOSED to say: "I would like to return to wrestling some day. TNA is a good possibility but you can't rule out the WWE. Really I would go with whichever company wants my services the most."
Even if you hate WWE and would NEVER go back there, you don't SAY it out loud before you get a contract!

EPIC WIN for Khali.
And did Bobby Lashley re-sign with TNA or is it just a one-shot deal?
Posted By: Crymetyme (Guest) on January 04, 2009 at 02:57 PM
It's not like Lash didn't have a legitimate reason for leaving. The racism in the WWE locker room, especially from Hayes, was disgusting. The fact that Hayes is still employed is the reason why I've boycotted all wrestling right now. (WWE for this garbage, TNA because it sucks)
Posted By: guest (Guest) on January 04, 2009 at 03:24 PM
Actually Lashley was pretty good in the ring despite him not being a talker. He's one of the few ex WWE guys I wouldn't mind being in TNA. And he has plenty of time and potential on his side.
Elijah Burke and Lance Cade would be good attractions for TNA also, as would have been Shannon Moore going back.
If TNA's booking improved all those guys would be worthy additions to their roster as they scale back some of the older faces in my opinion.

Again with the non wrestling news.
He is NOT a wrestler,he is my idol! I am training to be a WwE Diva so dont talk shit to me!

If WWE really wanted an "All-American" black athlete who could transcend racial stereotypes, here are a few suggestions:
1) Re-hire Elijah Burke - the guy is fucking gold on the mic. Not to mention, he has a boxing background they could have played up better.
2) Make better use of Shelton Benjamin. Period.
3) If you don't want racial stereotypes, don't demean us all by offering horrendous shit like Cryme Tyme. Some of you may think they're funny, but I think mainstream Americans would agree that the gimmick is offensive as Hell.
Posted By: Reichou (Guest) on January 04, 2009 at 04:28 PM
Lashley is a HELL of alot more entertaining than Ric Flair.
Posted By: Ric Flair sucks (Guest) on January 04, 2009 at 04:36 PM
This vickie storyline is pathetic. WWE is really sad if this gets so much publicity. What on earth would the general public think about garbage like this?
Posted By: hillarybriss (Guest) on January 04, 2009 at 04:42 PM
Cryme Time ain't racial sterotypes, that's how black people really act.
Posted By: Ric Flair sucks (Guest) on January 04, 2009 at 04:49 PM
Reichou, from one brother to another, AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!!
Of course, the sad reality is that Vince thinks very much like Martin Scorcese, Rikki Lake, Quinten Tarantino and host of prominent others; he truly believes he's close enough to the black community to use stereotypes and improperly apply them to people who probably are in no position to defy him. Shelton was ready three years ago, but he wasn't "black enough", hence Big Momma. I'm still waiting to hear the story on Elijah.

Dang, Khali beat me to those Vickie pics!

NOOOOOOOOO! Fuckin' Khali. You puto! Don't worry Tia, I'll get them back some how....
Posted By: ChavoG2009 (Guest) on January 04, 2009 at 09:09 PM
If WWE wanted to promote a black athlete, they shouldn't have dumped Elijah Burke. That guy could've been in the main event in 2-3 years.

im suprised there hasnt been any protests against Vince creating Cryme Tyme. I think one the guys from Cryme Tyme siad he did ntwant to that because it was really rascist sounding, then I guess he got a look at what his paycheck would be.
and its not that they arent funny its just a crappy gimmick. it s like The Gangstas lite(the Gayngstas).
Maybe one of the hollywood writers that Vince hired was a writer on Homeboys from Outer space and just got stuck in a rut. Im hoping the NOD Farrouq will return and make these guys shape up. Seriously if those two went in the real hood acting like that ,they would end up in body bags before the end of the night

bobby lashley was the best the wwe has ever had. that includes the backstabber rock, the crack head RVD, stone cold steve austin. Rick flair was the only one in bobby's level.

Dear Bobby Lashley,
Unless you commited to wrestle full-time, the WWE or TNA will not hire you, not even for "shorts stints here and there" or "years down the line". You were not a big enough draw and don't have a big enough name for these companies to hire you for occasional appearances like they do for Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper or Sting. Also, there is a drug testing policy in effect, and, by just looking at you, it's obvious your muscles are not naturally-produced. I liked watching you in the WWE and hope you come back, but , unless you want to do this full-time, and can find new and interesting ways to pass the drug tests, you are better off not even trying to come back to WWE. Vince McMahon would very likely offer you everything you ask, and them some, have you back for a while main eventing and whatnot, then turn you into a JTTS, a jabroni, enhancement talent, a JOBBER, before firing you to get his revenge for you quitting. Maybe you and Brock Lesnar should write a book together about being a main-eventer in WWE and then quitting.
Sincerely,
Your friend,
Chico
