Various News: Impact Replay, Smackdown Angle Spoiler
Posted by Larry Csonka on 01.04.2009

- Last Thursday's "Best Of" episode of TNA Impact will be replayed at 11PM on January 8th, which is immediately after the first run episode.

- According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, there is a new angle being inserted into Friday's edition of WWE Smackdown. The angle is that Jeff Hardy and his fiancée Beth were injured in a hit and run automobile accident in Cameron, NC, with Christian most likely being the perpetrator. Early word for the angle is that Jeff will be fine, but that Beth will be seriously injured, in terms of the storyline. The angle is said to be somewhat of a surprise, considering that Beth has wanted to stay out of the spotlight.

Well they could do worse. This could be fun. I almost hope they find a way to not align him with Edge though as I would love that to be the Mania main event. I don't really care that they will both be heels.

if wwe an my net tv want good tv ratings especially come baseball season, smackdown needs to be on thursdays.

christian should refuse to sign with wwe unless my net tv and wwe move smackdown back to thursday nights so ratings can be close to the 3.0 range again.

I have not heard if Christian has re-signed with WWE. Did he? Last I heard it was still just a rumor.

Oh noes there's already someone called Beth on the roster! Looks like they'll have to change her name to something ridiculous like Braden Walker.

Or Rob Van Dam.

So, what? Christian tried to take Jeff out pre-survivor series and when that didn't work he crashed into his car? Does Christian want Jeff dead or something? This angle, if true, is pretty weak.

And when Christian says that Vince says "We don't need you that bad."

I think it's a swerve and they're still building up to Matt vs. Jeff for the title at Mania. They should take their time rebuilding Christian.

Wow this is getting dumber and dumber. I hear the thing is that the real driver was either Lance Storm or Rikishi.

so WWE threw all this money at Christian to bring him back and there makeing him an attepted murderer
atleast in TNA he had a fantastic push and was undefeated for his first 21 months there
and even near the end of the run he was still ivolved in pretty big matches
I was ok with the hotel attack but this is just stupid

I crashed into Hardy's car...for the peeps.

Christian is still up on the TNA roster, I think Meltzer and Keller are going to look foolish when Christian ends up staying with TNA.

fatal fourway tlc for the wwe title at one night stand. i am praying hard for that main event.

Didnt they almost screw up Jericho by bringing him back and going World title contender right away. They are gonna get stuck in limbo with this feud because we all know Christian isnt getting the title but they cant just start jobbing him right away.

1. Jeff propose to her? Shocked me.
2. The WWE is stupid. I'm sure they didn't sign him yet.
3. Matt Hardy is the best way to go. Come on he makes the best choice.(well IMO).

"if wwe an my net tv want good tv ratings especially come baseball season, smackdown needs to be on thursdays."

Enough of this type of talk. It's not going to happen and even if it did, Thursdays won't do too well ratings-wise for Smackdown anyway. The other networks' line-ups are too decent enough for Smackdown to do any better than it is now.

Christian was one of my favorite wrestlers the last 2 years of his wwe run I'm hyped for his return to SD

Matt vs Jeff is cool but making matt a heel wont work, unless he tried to kill his brother that would work.

RVD showed up and frog splashed the car, saving the Hardy's lives. Don't expect to see him on TV though, it was a one time deal.

charismatic enigma vs captain charisma? this maybe too awesome to view with my measly human eyes!

"The angle is said to be somewhat of a surprise, considering that Beth has wanted to stay out of the spotlight."

No, the angle is somewhat of a surprise because we're supposed to be led to believe that Jeff is dating a FEMALE.

Can we please stop with the suggestions to have Matt & Jeff feud with each other? Their one time doing so was absolutely terrible, and they deserve to have their run at the top at peace. I'm as much of a HHHater as some, but this is one time where Trips *should* be in the main event at WM in order to put Jeff over huge and cap the storyline they've been building between the two of them since December of last year.

Christian's my fav wrestler ever and if he really does go to Smackdown that is gonna suck for me cuz i dont have MyfuckingNetwork TV!

Not impressed with the way the angle sounds, but I'll wait to see how it plays out first. But shoot, a feud with Jeff Hardy right out of the gate? No wonder Christian is coming back. Can't really blame him.

As for this Matt Vs Jeff talk that's been out there, it makes no sense at the moment. They are both champions and are doing well for their respective brands. If you are a fan, just enjoy it. A feud between the brothers may come after Matt loses his belt, but it would not be a good move for now in my opinion.

Christian IS mid card for life. He does not deserve to be main event.

Posted By: Riki...er, Christian (Guest) on January 04, 2009 at 11:00 PM

The next week on Smackdown, Christian couldn't have acted alone...HHH comes out and says to Jeff 'It was ME!'. HHH and Jeff hardy have a 2 out of 3 falls match at No Way Out. JR screams into the mic 'TRIPLE H! TRIPLE H! TRIPLE H!'.

After months of jobbing, creative has nothing for Jeff and Christian and they are both wished well on their future endeavours.

WRong iwc kids. It is a proven fact that smackdown would be better off on thursdays. The show used to get 5 million viewers a few years ago on upn.

upn shoved it to fridays because the network president hated pro wrestling and wanted it to be canceled eventually so he put it in the friday death slot.

On fridays, smackdown will face numerous preemptions during baseball season and on a shitty netowrk like my net tv that would be horrible and tna marks will chant epic fail when ratings go into the 1.something raNGE.

Even the iwc's master, dave meltzer said he was shocked that ny net tv would put their best tv show and the only thing that draws ratings on a bad tv night slot on fridays.

Posted By: Champ (Guest) on January 05, 2009 at 06:21 AM

You must have worked for the booking commitee just before Christian left the WWE after they screwed up his push. Christian was awesome in TNA and deserves to main event WWE as well. He actually may be the most reliable out of the Hardy's/E&C quartet. He isn't as injury prone as Edge, he doesn't have the poor history of screwing up like Jeff (not a shot at Jeff cause I like him) and he has tons more charisma than Matt (who I like also). So out of the four, I say allow Christian to shine where he belongs, in the Main Event scene as World or WWE Champion!

BTW, if he stays with TNA, I hope they allow him to return to Main Event Status.

Christian is coming home. Woo!

I for one am loving this angle, let's hope they build up Christian on a Jericho/Hardys like level.

That honour actually goes to potato ball. By a country mile.

The reason why the first matches between Jeff and Matt were considered terrible was because they stuck to a ground game based match and didn't do any high flying, so it was a let down. The hit and run accident is over the top, they all ready had a mystery attack, it is overkill. If anything, another backstage attack would have sufficed. Christian will be a welcome comeback though.
