WWE News: MVP Quits, Batista Recovering, Rumble Matches on Time Warner, More
Posted by Larry Csonka on 01.11.2009

- WWE is running an angle at house shows, where MVP gets frustrated after his loss and then quits the company. They have been doing the angle for close to a week, including last night's house show in Poplar Bluff, MO, after a match with Kizarny. The feeling is that they are testing it out so that they can eventually run it on TV. [Credit: Pwinsider.com]

- Batista's website is stating that he can begin to work out his legs in 6-weeks. Batista is currently recovering from surgery to repair a torn hamstring.

- Under "Events OnDemand," Time Warner Cable currently has various Royal Rumble matches availably to watch for $1.99. If you go to the "Movies OnDemand" section, you can get the HD versions of the matches for $2.99.

- Time Warner also has two free, 30-minute samples you can watch. The first is a "sample package" of Royal Rumble matches, and the second is the preview for tonight's TNA Genesis PPV.

What a bullshit headline. "MVP Quits." That's some cheap ass shit that I'd expect a lesser website to do in order to fool people into clicking on their news items. Leave that shit with Lords of Pain or something.

Fuck you Larry, I'm enjoying having less and less presence of you on the site. Let's keep it that way.

As the days go on and the losses pile up this "can't win," storyline of MVP gets dumber and dumber.

This MVP losing streak is OOOOOOLD!!
Maybe give him like a 6 week streak of losses, but how long has this been now? Feels like 6 months....

This to me isn't as bad as "Christian is at Raw", followed the next morning by "Christian wasn't at Raw". Or almost anything posted by AJ Grey in the Music/Movies section. Gotta get dem CLICKZ~!

PWInsider posted "MVP Quits" in their headline too so I don't see why you're getting so hot at Csonka.

MVP quits and then shocks the world as number 30 entry at Rumble and then you have this years Rumble winner...maybe...

according to santino, batista will be recovered from his hysterectomy in no time.

Don't you think that that news like that would posted on it's own and not with other random minor news? Maybe you're just an idiot.

im not whining but that headline did scare me for a moment there...luckily it's just a storyline

JL Thrush ftw!

Don not use a headline like "So-and-So Quits" if its part of a storyline. Cheap shit that you shouldn't resort to for hits.

Posted By: MDK (Guest)  on January 11, 2009 at 04:57 PM

Good theory there John, but I just don't think they want MVP in the main event of Wrestlemania

Posted By: cathal627 (Guest)  on January 11, 2009 at 04:57 PM

This angle has to end with MVP either winning the Rumble, the Elimination Chamber or Money in the Bank. He's in line for a huge push as a face so one of those needs to be the payoff.

I hope it's the Rumble since I'll be there live.

Posted By: Ron Mexico (Guest)  on January 11, 2009 at 05:04 PM

So are you telling me if Larry would have put quotations around the word "Quits" in the headline, you wouldn't still be bitching about it? I'll bet you would!

God, you guys are fucking babies!

I was hoping it was for real --- MVP sucks!

When I read "MVP quits" I knew it was some sort of "Work" straight away. Hopefully his losing streak is ended soon anyway...

Posted By: Whiteburbia (Guest)  on January 11, 2009 at 06:22 PM

Or the angle just ends with him jobbing out. Hes a criminal that NOBODY wants to see. Hes no where near the level to win any of the 3 matches you just named so theres no chance of the angle ending like that.

Posted By: TNAFan (Guest)  on January 11, 2009 at 06:31 PM

How much do you want to bet that MVPs worked quitting ends up with him actually being released from the company? I can see him disappearing from TV due to "quitting" and then them releasing him right before he's supposed to make his surprise return.

Posted By: Eric von Erich (Guest)  on January 11, 2009 at 06:37 PM

Here's the deal with the headline. Larry did want you to initially beleive MVP really quit the company so you'd click on the news item. If there had been quotations around "quits" not nearly as many people would have clicked on story. This isn't the first time Larry has pulled something like this. It's not a big deal becuase I think most people after a second or two figured out what was meant, but it was still misleading, but hey all news organaizations do the exact same thing all the time.

You make it sound as if you wouldn't have clicked the link if that bit wasn't in there. Please, if you're coming to this page, it's to read the news bits and articles. Calm down angry little man.

You've gotta admit, the headline was a *little* misleading due to lack of quotations, but there's certainly been worse headlines on much less reputable sites. I think the first guy was upset because 411mania RARELY posts a misleading headline, and because he's a bit of a mark. I can certainly see where he's coming from, but no need to shit your diapers.

Posted By: Misleading Adam (Guest)  on January 11, 2009 at 07:27 PM

I don't think its an angle. MVP has already signed a 3 year deal with TNA. They are doing this because his contract ends next month.

Oh thank God! It reads MVP...I just glanced at it and thought it said RVD quits...which would suck given the fact that he just resigned. Whew.

we've seen this bullshit before... they did the same thing to christian. ZZZZZzzzZZZZzzz.... im hoping they are only doing this to give MVP a big push. the storyline now is complete horseshit and lets just hope batista suffers a few setbacks. i wonder if Roidtista figured out yet that steroids shatter your tendons

Youre ALREADY on the site and youre bitching they got you to click a news bit on the site that you are ALREADY on. Lol sounds like youre a sour puss for getting all worked up and emotional over something kasfabe. Dont get mad at larry for being mislead, be mad at yourself for being a bitch.

what kid of virgin chump does it take to keep doing RVD jokes months after the joke was already old.

WWE really fucked up MVPS crediability now with his stupid ass angle.Unless he beats Taker Triple H and retire HBK in the next 3 months I don't see him going far in the E.Now in TNA he'll have a career birth that i would approve of...

MVP may quit Smackdown then go to Raw. You never know anything is possible.

Posted By: Tom (Guest)  on January 11, 2009 at 11:36 PM

After he "Quits" they are gonna bring him back as "Ochoa Simba" (8 Lions) returning to his african roots and have him team with Mark Henry and be managed by Tony Atlas. You heard it here first!

In other news...Batista to start another roid cycle in 6-8 weeks.

Posted By: blahtista (Guest)  on January 12, 2009 at 11:02 AM

All you pricks who said negative shit about the first post can choke on a fat dick.
I'm sick of these misleading headlines that are getting more and more regular.
There was one last week but I can't remember who it was about. It said "so and so found". The missing word is dead. If you read that and filled in a blank the word you would get is dead. But when you clicked the link it said "so and so found working as a bouncer.
These misleading headlines are bullshit and the first poster was right to get pissed off.

all u guys r super gay! i cant believe how much u people diss wrestlers these days. of course they are on roids but u of all people dont need to be so critical. batista seems like a steroid beast but he's still an animal. plus hes slowed down and wrestles pretty plain now. this is saying that hes not on roids currently. U idiots cant even fill in his spot! I want to see you guys power in the WWE!! Idiots! MVP is doin fine right now. his moves are quite tight! dont criticize if u cant do crap yourself. if i was a wrestler, i'll probably beat all your butts!
