Claudio Castagnoli battles Brent Albright!


411's Ring of Honor on HDNet Report 4.18.09

As a reminder, this is the barebones report. I will do play by play and results, that is all. JD Dunn will be back with his breakdown of the show, with the wacky hi-jinks and star ratings.

-Dave Prazak and Mike Hogewood welcome us to this week's show from the HDNet studios. They hype the main event, and then shoot us to the ring for the opener.

-Smacktalk from Jimmy Jacobs.

-Smacktalk from The Necro Butcher, who promises to use a staple gun!

VS.

The Necro Butcher vs. Jimmy Jacobs

As the ref takes the staple gun from Necro, Jacobs attacks and lays the beat down on Necro. Necro fires back, Jacobs now wants to shake and Necro decides that fisticuffs are the way to go, followed by kicks to the face and then slams Jacobs into the buckle. Necro tosses Jacobs to the floor, gets the ring bell and nails Jacobs in the gut. Necro gets a tablecloth and chokes and then tosses Jacobs down. Necro sets up a little table, goes for a powerbomb, Jacobs escapes and gets a belly to back suplex on the floor. Jacobs grabs a chair, sets it up and then PUTS A PLASTIC BAG over the head of Necro! Jacobs sets Necro in the chair, in the ring and then hits a dive onto Necro! Back in the ring we go and rights by Jacobs. Jacobs to the 2nd rope, elbow drop connects for 2. Jacobs goes for the spear but eats a right hand. Chokeslam by Necro, TIGER DRIVER by Necro and he refuses to make the pin. He grabs the staple gun, Brodie Lee is out and attacks Necro and we have a DQ.

Winner: The Necro Butcher @ 6:00 via DQ

-Necro cleans house and stands tall.


-Kyle Durden is with Brent Albright. He says the feud with Claudio is personal now, and tonight, they show the world how personal it is. They have fought everywhere, and tonight, everyone will see how much hate he has. Tonight, Claudio either gets out or taps out.

-Sammi Callahan smacktalks.

-Eddie Kingston smacktalks.

VS.

Eddie Kingston vs. Sami Callahan

Hand slap for the shake and we're set to go. Crowd loves Kingston. Lock up, side headlock by Kingston, off the ropes and Callahan fails with the shoulder block. STO by Callahan, into the Koji Clutch, but Kingston gets the ropes. They shove each other, chops by Callahan, head butt, off the ropes and an EXPLODER by Kingston. Callahan pulls him to the corner, kick to the face follows. Chops by Callahan, Kingston fires back and shops by Kingston follow. More chops, Callahan rakes the eyes, rights by Callahan then follow and a choke to Kingston. Kingston fires up, but Callahan tries to rip his nose off. Suplex blocked by Kingston, forearms connect. Chops by Callahan, head butts follow but Kingston with the boot and roaring elbow. More chops by Callahan, head butt by Kingston and then a suplex gets 2. Side kick by Callahan, who is busted open, elbows by Kingston, boot by Callahan and the belly to back suplex gets 2.Kick to the knee by Callahan, but Kingston gets the backdrop driver and spinning back fist and that is all.

Winner: Eddie Kingston @ 6:00 via pin


-Kyle Durden is with Claudio. Claudio says Durden's tie is trash, and puts over his very European scarf. He then calls Albright trash, and says he is everything that is wrong with America. He is very European.

-Commercial time.

-Back in studio, and they talk with new ROH Champion Jerry Lynn. He says it feels great to win the title, and for the critics, he appreciates their passion. Prazak asks if he will be a fighting champion, like Punk, Danielson, Joe and even Nigel. After Lynn leaves, Prazak says he has big shoes to fill, and a lot of people will be going after him.

-Bobby Dempsey smacktalks. "Hi Mom."

VS.

Bobby Dempsey vs. Orange Cassidy

Crowd loves Dempsey. OC attacks at the bell, off the ropes and a body block by Dempsey kills OC. Death Valley Driver and that is all.

Winner: Bobby Dempsey @ 0:30 pin

-Cheech and Cloudy smacktalk.

-Rhett Titus and Kenny King smacktalk. BROTHER, BROTHER, BROTHER, THE THRUST IS A MUST!

ANDVS.

Rhett Titus and Kenny King vs. Up In Smoke (Cheech and Cloudy)

King and Cheech to begin. Lock up, go behind by King, side headlock now and then a hammerlock by Cheech. King works the arm, good escape by Cheech and he works the arm. Tag to Titus, arm drag by Titus and Cloudy is in and Up in Smoke in control with corner mounted punches on Titus and King. Double high five bulldogs connects and Cheech covers Titus for 2. Tag to Cloudy, off the ropes and Cloudy sends Titus to the apron and he gets a knee to Cloudy. King tags in, mounted rights follow and a cover for 2. Titus tags back in, rights to Cloudy, but he gets a small package for 2. Snap mare by Titus, into the chinlock. Elbows by Cloudy, to the corner and a splash by Titus. High knee follows and a cover for 2. Tag to King and a clothesline kills Cloudy, cover for 2. A slam by King, misses the slingshot leg drop and Cloudy gets a sunset flip for 2. Cloudy makes the tag to Cheech and he cleans house on King and Titus. Corner spear by Cheech, up top, cartwheels off and gets the superkick for 2. Tag to Cloudy, double team suplex and then a version of the old Quebecers cannon ball drop gets 2! Titus in and beats down Cheech, off the ropes and Titus is set over the middle rope, 619 dropkick combo connects. King tosses Cloudy off the top into the barricade, and the DOOMSDAY BLOCKBUSTER/POWERBOMB finishes Cheech. Cool finish.

Winners: Rhett Titus and Kenny King @ 6:00 via pin


-Claudio is such a great dick, as he makes a dude be a footstool to get him into the ring.

VS.

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Brent Albright

CC attacks on the floor before the bell even rings. The brawl around ringside, and now into the ring and we are underway. Albright catches CC and gets a back breaker. Chops by Albright, boots by CC, uppercuts, HEY~! CC bites Albright while in the corner, and MIKE HOGEWOOD DOES NOT APPROVE! Albright back with chops, uppercut by CC and off the ropes, counters and Albright sends Albright to the floor. Slingshot plancha CAUGHT by CC and he runs and DIVES into the barricade with a poweslam! DAMN! That was sweet. Back into the ring we go and CC works the neck vice. Albright to his feet, rights by Albright, off the ropes and a clothesline by CC gets 2. Boot to the head by CC, uppercuts follow, a whip and Albright hits hard and falls to the mat. Butterfly suplex by CC gets 2. Chop by Albright, but eats a dropkick from CC. Chops by Albright, uppercuts by CC and Albright is down. CC chokes Albright in the ropes, and to the floor they go. Albright manages a belly to belly on the floor and a she tries to get into the ring, CC viciously slams him to the floor. Back in the ring and CC covers for 2. Chinlock applied by CC as he keeps Albright grounded. Albright back with the rock bottom, and then the XPLODER~! Overhead suplex by Albright, uppercuts by CC and then runs into a snap slam and Albright covers for 2. Chops by Albright, looks for a suplex, blocked and he gets a neck breaker for 2. Rights by Albright, chops follow, but CC comes back with the springboard uppercut. CC now busts out the big swing~! CC charges and Albright blocks the uppercut, backslide and he gets 2. Bicycle kick by CC drops Albright, cover for 2.CC argues with the ref, and Albright slaps on the crowbar! Transitions to the cross face, back to the crowbar and CC makes the ropes. Knee to the head by Albright, but CC slams him to the corner and then a back elbow by Albright. Up top, eats an uppercut by CC, they trade rights, thumb to the eye by CC, goes up with Albright, superplex countered and Albright gets the big cross body for a close 2! Albright fires up, chops follow, a whip, reversal, CC escapes he half nelson, toss countered by CC, and then CC counters the half nelson into the victory roll, grabs the ropes and takes the win!

Winner: Claudio Castagnoli @ 12:00 via pin
