411's WWE Raw Report 06.08.09
Posted by Rob McNew on 06.08.2009

-Hot off the heels of a shocking Extreme Rules we head into tonight's Raw with a new WWE Champion, but for how long. Reports are that Batista is injured and set for surgery as early as tomorrow making the decision to have him take the title last night all the more curious. He opens the show tonight so we'll find out just how reliable these reports are. Meanwhile where does John Cena go after beating Big Show again in what may have been the most brutally boring submission match in history? Tonight The Miz finally gets his one on one shot. Things started to turn around last week a bit, so here's hoping tonight the turnaround continues.

-Live from The Cajundome in Lafayette, LA

-Hosted by Michael Cole & Jerry "The King" Lawler

-Lillian brings out the new WWE Champion Batista to address the crowd. Batista seems in high spirits, and does not appear to be nursing an injury of any kind. Batista says last night he beat the hell out of Randy Orton, and became a five time World Champion. He says there is a certain sixteen time champion watching, and he wants Ric to know he loves him and this is for him, and all of the fans. Batista says he did it for everyone who is sick and tired of Randy Orton. He says as much as he enjoys this moment, and he enjoys the title this is only the beginning. He says Orton has hurt a lot of people, and he's going to hurt him back. This is a start, but like he said he will take his pride, his dignity, and...I HEAR VOICES....Randy interrupts and comes out in a rage while still walking at a snails pace to the ring. Legacy surround the ring, and they try to jump Batista. He fights them off at first, but finally the numbers game overwhelms him. They hold Batista down and stomp away at his arm which will surely be the kayfabe explanation for the injury. Orton Pillmanizes the Batista's arm, as Batista screams "I'M GONNA GET YOU, YOU'LL NEVER GET RID OF ME" Orton pulls back on the arm while it remains wrenched in the chair, and finally yanks back snapping the arm. Orton grabs the belt and takes it back with him as trainers come out to attend to Batista. It appears that Batista did in fact win the title just work the smarts. Did they hire Russo back and not tell anyone?

-Trainers take Batista through the locker room, and into a waiting ambulance.

Kofi Kingston vs. William Regal
Lillian botches the introduction by calling Kofi the Intercontinental Champion. Its been 10 years Lillian. You're out of excuses. Regal comes out saying the last thing we need is a Jamaican as the US Champ. We need someone with class and dignity, and he believes that as US Champion he can be our savior. Regal grabs a side headlock, but runs into a dropkick. Kofi dives off the top, but Regal meets him with a shot to the breadbasket. Kofi comes back with a sunset flip attempt, but Regal sits down on it to block. Regal hits a standing senton for two, and then drives a pair of knees to the midsection. Regal charges into the corner running into a boot from Kofi who fights back with a trio of chops. Dropkick from Kofi connects and sets up the double legdrop for two. Regal comes back with a knee to the gut for two of his own, and then sets up for the running knee. Kofi moves and goes for Trouble in Paradise which is also ducked. Regal comes back with a forearm, but Kingston is back with the Trouble in Paradise to finish at just 2:06. Why even bother if you're only giving them two minutes?
Winner: Kofi Kingston (Pinfall-Trouble in Paradise 1/2*)

-Cody tells Orton there is no way Batista is coming back, and Dibiase confirms they broke his arm. Josh Mathews busts in to get thoughts. Orton says he is invoking his rematch clause tonight, and if Batista doesn't come back to face him he wins by forfeit and he will be WWE Champion again. Gee, couldn't have seen that coming.

WWE Diva's Championship: Kelly Kelly vs. Maryse (c)
Hopefully this is better than the abortion of a contest they had a few weeks back. Mickie James comes running out to join Cole and King on commentary. Maryse takes control with a knee lift, and throws Kelly to the mat. They fight over a lockup ending up on the mat somehow, and rolling around randomly. I need a cigarette after that encounter. Kelly hits a pair of forearms, and then they both clothesline each other. Maryse throws Kelly into the second rope for a two count, and then hits a spinning backbreaker for another two count. Kelly hits a sunset flip for two, and then a pair of clotheslines. Kelly hits a crossbody off the second rope for two, and then a hurracanrana gets another two. Kelly goes to the second rope, but gets yanked off by Maryse who hits a DDT to finish at 2:55. Well I'll give them credit. It was better than the first match. Afterward Maryse slaps Kelly around a bit until Mickie runs her off.
Winner: STILL WWE Diva's Champion-Maryse (Pinfall-DDT DUD)

-A recap of what has to be the current leader for 2009 Match of the Year. The epic hog pen match.

-Josh Mathews introduces Vickie Guerrero, and asks about Orton's claim that he will invoke his rematch clause. Vickie says Orton will get his rematch tonight, and if she knows Batista he will be back. Vickie says if Batista doesn't show he will forfeit the title. She says she has a huge announcement that will change the face of Raw forever.

-Miz runs into Maryse in the locker room, and tells her not to worry because Mickie James isn't around. She starts talking in French, and Miz tells her its really hot. She says she doesn't need to speak French because she knows she's hot. She tells him she's never seen him beat Cena, and until she's sees something they have nothing. Miz tells her to watch tonight.

Santino Marella, Goldust, & Festus (w. Hornswoggle) vs. Chavo Guerrero, The Brian Kendrick, & Jamie Noble
Oh wow, what a team. I take back anything I ever said bad about this show. Festus comes out complete with feather boa and Hornswoggle bowler hat. Festus attacks at the bell still wearing his bowler squashing Kendrick in the corner. Festus hits his ass splash off the ropes and tags in Santino who is in with a legsweep. Kendrick fights back with a forearm, and Santino tags in Goldust. Goldust is in with a flying clothesline, but Kendrick fights back with a boot and a tag to Chavo. Chavo fires Goldust into the heel corner and works him over a bit. Snap mare from Chavo sets up a bow and arrow of the arms. Tag to Noble who comes in with an elbow drop, and a forearm to the back of the head. Noble grabs a reverse chinlock, and then dropkicks Festus off the apron. He turns into an inverted atomic drop from Goldust and a backdrop which allows the tag to Santino. Santino hits a back elbow and a trip for two. Kendrick and Chavo make the save but get chased away by Festus. Kendrick throws Hornswoggle into the ring, and Horny stomps his foot. He dives onto Kendrick on the floor, as Santino rolls up Noble to pick up the win at 3:51. Those of you who had your sense of humor surgically removed when you got an internet connection might not of liked it, but I loved the shit out of this match. Really, really, fun stuff.
Winners: Santino Marella, Goldust, & Festus (Santino pins Noble-Rollup **)

The Miz vs. John Cena
Miz comes out with a t-shirt that if they sell it will be a huge hit. Its a simple shirt with a an X through Cena's name. The back says "I'm awesome." Miz asks if we can feel it, because tonight is the night we've all been waiting for. He says people think he's all talk, and that he hasn't backed up anything he said about Cena. He says that's Cena's fault because Cena hasn't accepted his challenges. Miz tells all the Cena apologist they're bogus for making excuse after excuse on why he hasn't face him. Tonight Cena has no excuses, no injuries. He says the only thing separating him from going 7-0 is the most overrated athlete in WWE history. A hero to teenage girls, prepubescent boys, and 20-30 year olds who still live at home with their mothers. He says he may not be Tim Allen, but its about to be tool time. Before the bell Big Show wanders out. WHY THE FUCK ARE WE CONTINUING THIS FEUD? Cena kicks Miz out of the ring, and goes for the Attitude Adjustment on Show. Show slides off and delivers a chokeslam, and then locks in his shitty camel clutch. Miz makes the save?!?! He lays out Show with a chair, and then whacks Cena with it as well. Show gets up, and Miz bails. Cena lays motionless in the ring, as Show stares down Miz. No match I guess. What exactly does Cena have to do to end this feud?
No Match

Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Matt Hardy
MVP says he doesn't really know whats going on with the title right now, but he knows if there is going to be a title match next week he's gotta be in that match. He says if there is any doubt who should get that shot he's going to put them to rest by beating Matt Hardy. Not sure beating Matt puts the number one contendership to rest, but hey whatever helps you sleep at night Montel. MVP takes control early with a drop toehold for two. He goes to the second rope, but gets yanked off by Hardy for a two count. Hardy delivers a pair of boots to the ribs, and then chokes out MVP on the ropes. Hardy drops down on MVP who was draped across the second rope for a two count, and then locks in a front facelock. MVP sends Hardy into the ropes and hits a throw, and follows up with a series of fistacuffs. Facebuster connects for MVP, and sets up the ballin' elbow for two. MVP misses a drive by kick in the corner, and Matt follows up with an inverted DDT for two. Matt goes for a shot with the cast, but MVP counters by dropping Matt face first on the top rope. Playmaker finishes at 3:53 for MVP. Nothing much going on here. Just a cliffnotes version of their several encounters in the past.
Winner: Montel Vontavious Porter (Pinfall-Playmaker *)

-A recap of CM Punk's shocking title win last night.

-Vickie Guerrero is out for her announcement. EXCUSE ME! Vickie says she knows that we are upset that Randy Orton was granted a rematch tonight, but she says the last thing on her mind is making any of us happy. She starts to cry, and says last night she was in a hog pen match and was covered in slop and mud. She says she was never so humiliated and insulted in her life. She says she was looking to us for compassion and sympathy, but all she saw was people laughing at her. She says everyone was taking pictures, and saying "look at the little piggy lady." She asks where our decency is, and where is our respect? Vickie says she's had it, and tonight the title match is on. She says she's tired of the fans laughing at her and making fun of her week after week. She's come to a decision, and that is that she is RESIGNING AS GENERAL MANAGER OF RAW!!! OH SWEET MOTHER OF GOD THANK YOU!!! That brings out Edge. What brand split? Edge says last night he said some things in the heat of the moment. Some disprespectful things that he never should have said. He said he wants to make things right, and apologize. She says she's happy to hear that. Edge then stops her and says a funny thing happened. She quit, and now he doesn't need to. She says she doesn't understand, but he tells her that the sky is blue, the grass is green, and he married her for her power. Edge tells her that he wants to become champion at any cost, and since she's not in power anymore she can't give him what he wants. She says he doesn't mean it, but he mockingly says "why, because I love you babe?" He tells her when they went out in public people thought she was her mother. He asks her to look at him, and asks if these people honestly thought he could be in love with a she beast. She starts to cry, and he asks if she thinks crying is going to get her sympathy. He says its him that deserves sympathy. Every time he kissed her he had to rush to the bathroom to dry heave. Edge says the only saving grace is that they never actually consummated the marriage. Edge says its fitting her days in the WWE are over, because so is the marriage. He wants a divorce. Vickie drops to her knees screaming, as the crowd sings the goodbye song to her. I'm not sure, but that might have been an Edge face turn.

-Josh Mathews catches up with John Cena, who says he's been worse, he just can't remember when. Cena says a man's character is measured when his back is against the wall. He says he thought his 500 pound problem was over when he made Show tapped out. He says he hopes Show is listening because if it isn't over it will be. He calls Miz out for picking a toughest guy in the bar to make a name for himself. He says part of him respects that, but every time they get ready to go someone is there to do the dirty work for him. He says Miz thinks he's awesome, but we're going to soon find out how awesome he is.

Ted Dibiase & Cody Rhodes vs. The Colons
Dibiase and Rhodes come out all smiles apparently thrilled that they are able to walk to the ring at full speed without Orton there. Joined in progress back from commercial with Rhodes having Primo locked in a side headlock. Primo flips out of a back suplex, and then hits an enzaguri. Tag to Carlito who springboards in with a clothesline, and hits a kneelift. Carlito goes for a springboard moonsault which misses, but he's right back with a dropkick for two. Dibiase provides a distraction, allowing Cody to attack from behind and make the tag. Dibiase is in to put the boots to Carlito, and deliver a trio of Million Dollar Fistdrops. Standing dropkick from Dibiase gets a two count, and he then locks in a reverse chinlock. Carlito elbows out, and goes for a hiptoss which is countered by Dibiase. He kicks Primo off the apron, and then tags in Rhodes. Primo inadvertently distracts the official allowing Legacy to double team, and Cody follows with a bodyslam. Rhodes kicks Carlito in the head, and makes the tag to Dibiase. Side Russian legsweep connects for a two count as Primo makes the save. Elbow drop connects for Dibiase for a two count, and then a tag is made to Rhodes. Cody drops a knee on the back of Carlito, and tags Ted back in. Dibiase delivers a series of right hands, and then chokes out Carlito with his boot. Rhodes tags in and locks in a modified camel clutch. Carlito fights to his feet, and counters out making the hot tag to Primo. Dibiase tags in as well and gets a back elbow and a dropkick. Primo sprinboards off the second rope with a crossbody, but Rhodes makes the save. He gets chased out, but Dibiase delivers a rollup for two. Rhodes is able to drop Primo on the top rope from the floor, and that sets up Dibiase hitting Dream Street to pick up the win at 7:28. Nothing special, and being joined in progress with the heels already in control didn't help things any. This grants Legacy a tag title shot at an unspecified date.
Ted Dibiase & Cody Rhodes (Dibiase pins Primo-Dream Street *1/2)

WWE Championship: Randy Orton (w. Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase) vs. Batista (c)
I should point out its 10:59 and the main event is just beginning. Orton says that Dibiase and Rhodes just beat the Colons making them number one contenders for the Unified Tag Team Titles. Orton says speaking of Championships he hopes Batista doesn't use what happened earlier as an excuse, and by golly if you didn't see it Randy has a recap ready for us. What a guy. Orton reminds us that Vickie Guerrero made the declaration before she resigned. He is entitled to a rematch tonight, and in the unlikely event that Batista doesn't show he is awarded the title by forfeit. Hilariously Lillian goes through all the intros announcing "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATISTA!!!!" even with him nowhere to be found. Batista's music hits, and no one shows. Orton tells the ref to count him out, and they ring the bell. Chioda applies the count, but we see the ambulance arrive and he waves it off. Oh for Christ's sake just get on with it. We see in the ambulance not Batista, but Triple H with sledgehammer in hand. Trips comes out in a scene eerily similar of a few months back. Its like a fucking rerun. Cody and Ted charge at HHH and of course fail miserably in their attempt at being henchman which leaves just Orton and Trips. Triple H drops the sledgehamer, and then tears off his shirt to reveal he's not hiding anything. Orton attacks HHH as he gets inside, but HHH turns it around on him. Orton bails to the floor, but HHH is out after him. Orton grabs a chair, but that fails too as HHH continues the assault sending Orton into the announce table. Trips tries to blast Orton with a monitor, but Orton fights him off and takes off running through the crowd. HHH goes in pursuit and catches him in the crowd. HHH fires Orton back into ringside, and Orton grabs the chair and slides back inside the ring. HHH charges at him anyway and delivers a spinebuster. HHH picks up the chair, and blasts Orton with it several times. He destroys Orton's knees and ribs with the chair, and a wide shot shows that Dibiase and Rhodes are still laid out motionless on the ramp. Now thats funny. HHH gives Orton one final shot to the back of the neck, and then stares him down. Crowd chants Pedigree, so HHH obliges by giving Orton the pedigree on the steel chair. Nice segment, but one question remains...WHO IS THE FUCKING CHAMPION?
Winner: Who the hell knows?

-Okay so Batista never got counted out, but he also didn't show. I would assume he is no longer champion. Orton was never declared the winner, and may be taken away with an injury angle as well so I can only assume that he isn't champion either. So I guess we have a vacant title that will be settled next week. I'm not sure how they'll do that, but it does make for an interesting cliffhanger that should get you to tune in next week. The rest of the show blew chunks, but the return of Triple H and the uncertainty of the title should be interesting enough. I'm just glad they didn't go with the ultra predictable Orton wins the belt back.

Orton vs. HHH? Now that's a feud that I can't wait to see! Two of the most over-hyped assholes in wrestling facing off against each other! A feud of this caliber can only be ended on wrestling's grandest stage... Wrestlemania!

What? They already feuded? And they wrestled each other at Wrestlemania? And the match was boring and shitty?

Never mind.

Thank goodness I was watching Nitro and didn't have to see this CRAP.

Legacy looks somewhat dominant for about an hour and a half and then HHH returns and Legacy goes back to the JOB Squad.

Wow! What a fantastic end segment! Welcome back HHH!!! Now to all you who were enjoying Batista's injury and pending surgery, this serves you right. LMAO. HHH is back EARLY b/c Batista got hurt. I absolutely LOVED seeing Randy Boreton get dismantled by The Game. I hope he goes away for a long, long time and I never see boreton on my screen again! I watched that Pedigree in slow motion. A thing of beauty!

It's refreshing to read a recap from someone that has a hard on for hornswogle and triple h.

Welcome to Part II of Monday Night Triple H Buries Legacy. This crap just won't end. Please, just give Super Cena back the belt. Anything is better than this.

Wow, your grading is really tough, isn't it?

Posted By: Um...buh (Guest)  on June 09, 2009 at 12:00 AM

I was so hoping Orton would smash Batista while he was strapped to the gurney.

Why do they continue to waste air time with diva matches? The only way they'll ever be interesting is if they're nude. Beyond that, forget about 'em.

For two hours an six minutes Orton and Legacy looked like they weren't complete pansies. Too bad the show didn't end that way.

Every person in the RAW locker room should be forced to watch the Savage dvd. That's how you cut promos and wrestle. The commercial for this set was more entertaining than anything on the show.

So sick of Raw... I feel like I could of been watching any show from 2006 to present.

Triple H is back...yay... not!

Thank god for Smackdown a place where us smarks can preace, act like smart arses and be smug all day.... but ultimately enjoy true good solid wrestling.

Man I hate the H.

This show still sucks, but at least Vicky will be off of my TV, so that is definitely a step in the right direction. Looks like Batista is done for a while as well, which is a HUGE step in the right direction.

But that leaves Cena and HHH at the top...so it's still going to suck. When is the draft again?

Posted By: D-Steak (Guest)  on June 09, 2009 at 12:11 AM

This show sucked. Gee I wonder when HHH is going to get the title back. How strange he returns after the basketball playoffs wont be on Mondays anymore. He can claim the ratings went up because of him.

Tonight's show was pretty good given the fact they just came off the heels off an awesome PPV.

I really enjoyed seeing Orton get his comeuppance, and say what you want about HHH being a backstage politican, but at least he can wrestle. HHH feuding with Orton will be more tolerable than Batista feuding with Orton.

ya know, as soon as lillian made that slip-up, i knew the iwc was gonna be pissin and moanin. folks, it was a simple honest mistake. besides, i-c title, u.s. title, what's the difference really? they're both 2ndary titles designed to elevate those not yet ready for prime-time. please, iwc, let's not be anal about this. as far as i'm concerned, the u.s. & i-c titles are like nikki & brie bella - they may be different technically, but they're practically one and the same.

so much for MVPs push.I look for Triple H to once again become champion and bury the roster.I swear the only reason why i watch RAW is cause of MVP

Outside for The Miz(who is awesome) there's very little reason to watch Raw. Orton has been booked to look like a bitch since he punted Vince nearly five months ago. Flair, Batista, Shane, and HHH has made him their bitch. What was the use of even giving Batista the title? Mickie James looked as good as ever too bad her commentary was so terrible. Yipee HHH is back I can't wait for another HHH-Orton matchup.

oh hey hhh vs orton 2000...sure throw in show and cena to really spice things up and make it a 4 way...BLA...I hate to say it but the product has been stale for years now restling on the laurels of HBK and well for a time the flair storyline...but they have to push the entertainment side of things...CM Punk is no big name champion...some smarks like him but he is not screaming entertainment like an eddie guererro once did...what the E needs to do is shake things up like when hogan went to the NWO...we dont need this same old crap...Turn Cena...sure he still sells and the crowd reacts this way and that for him, but unify that crowd in hatred for him...Have HHH vs Orton and have Cena show up and kill HHH and form a better stable with orton (kick the legacy bumps out in a unified turn)...bring in Show (I've seen crazier forgive and forgets) through a mutual respect thing and push the hell out of these guys as a force sent to end the careers of people like HHH...HELL have them show no regard for authority and run wild on ECW and Smackdown and involve vince in it all...what im saying is SHAKE IT UP...not by having HHH HBK and Taker return for summerslam so it sells a little...no do something exciting and new for once

Posted By: b (Guest)  on June 09, 2009 at 12:32 AM

Maybe they'll run a tournament or 6 way match for the belt:

Cena
HHH
Show
MVP
Orton
&
Hardy
or
Miz
or
A "face" Edge (what brand ext....)

If Triple H wins the title again anytime in the near future, I will just throw myself off of the nearest skyscraper.

Seriously, I'm that passionate about the matter.

The Miz vs Cena vs The Big Show, now that's a match I can't wait to see.

Posted By: who cares (Guest)  on June 09, 2009 at 12:54 AM

I completely agree with b.

This shit is just so predictable, there is no reason to watch it. The only reason I tune in is because it's live, and there is at least a chance something of significance might happen, but then I always feel like an idiot when I blow two hours of my evening because it is the same cookie-cutter shit over and over again.

I think WWE needs to combine all the brands, and on any given show you can see any given wrestler. There should be a few announced matches, and every other wrestler that appears is somewhat of a surprise for that night. What a novel idea, a surprise!

Then, like b said, they need a dominating stable. This Legacy crap has already failed and I don't think it will be able to recover after what booking has done to them. A super heel faction with Cena at the helm and maybe a Matt Hardy, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, hell, even Miz, would definitely get more people excited than the bullshit they feed us now.

Posted By: D-Steak (Guest)  on June 09, 2009 at 01:01 AM

I've always rolled my eyes when people come on here after an episode of Raw and say they're not watching WWE anymore...but after tonight, I think I'm done, at least for a good while. The Miz is the only person I find entertaining on the whole show, and he simply is not worth 2 hours of my time every week.

You lost me, Vince. Good job.

Out of the RAW roster who hasn't feuded ? It's really only MVP who hasn't been introduced into the mix... Not that it would make a huge difference but bring back Taker to Raw and move HBK to Smackdown and you might make things a little more bearable on the Red brand and things a little more awesome on the blue brand...

Let's face it Smackdown's the only show worth watching these days...

I really enjoyed seeing Orton get his comeuppance, and say what you want about HHH being a backstage politican, but at least he can wrestle. HHH feuding with Orton will be more tolerable than Batista feuding with Orton.

The Extreme Rules PPV and Monday Night Raw really delivered what most fans wanted to see. Edge and Orton both losing the their heavyweight championships brought a big smile to a lot of faces. I am ordering the replay just to see Orton and Edge lose. The beating the boring Orton received at the end of Raw made my evening. Triple H beat up three punk ass pansies by himself. Orton can't even beat Batista without help. The best part of this evening is reading the posts of the whining, pathetic, and very addicted to the WWE IWC community. I quit watching TNA because the show sucked really bad. Maybe all you idiots that hate WWE so much need to quit watching.

I just got back into WWE after 6 years (cuz of youtube) of not watching and the thing I have to say is...aside from some obvious predicatability, the matches look toooooo coreographed. Ive seriously never seen everything look so fake its really hard to get into aside from 10 years ago when everything from promos to matches felt and looked real, i think thats part of why it used to be so appealing. Also King and Cole suck on commentary, they sound bored and into anything thats going on and thats weird considering Lawler used to be the shit.

How much time passed between the point where the referee started to count out Batista and HHH entered the ring? Unless a wrestler in the WWE is counted out after being outside the ring for longer than 110 seconds, Orton should be the champ.

Jericho

M. Hardy

R. Oroton

CM Punk...

For those saying Vince lost you, look at Smackdown and shutup. They will turn Cena but it will be way closer to Wrestlemania 26 so he can fight HBK in a retirement match, Undertaker to end the streak, or (hopefully not) HHH for the WWE Championship. They already have heel CM Punk which will be awesome. It would be kinda of stupid to put the title on MVP right now, he just lost the US Championship and can't get it back so he should be WWE Champ? If Vince booked it better MVP could step in. There are about 6 guys on Smackdown who could step in,Shelton Benjamin and Morrision would be crazy. I think Vince has to do something ridiculous and have an 8 man tourny next RAW. Give the title to 1) Miz or 2)Kofi (yes the US champ deserves a shot. That way the push to the moon we have been waiting for in these younger stars is extremely accelerated. I actually wish they would give Kofi a Jamaican gangster gimmick (imply that he is a huge pothead) and make him dark as hell but I really think he can be a transitional champion as a face. If Miz somehow wins the WWE title, well who is that gonna hurt? Nobody thats who. Fuck I even think Regal or Hardy would be a better choice right now than HHH, Cena, Show or Orton. If it were up to me I would let The Miz cheat his way to the top in a tournament.

Roll on smackdown which will have good matches & hopefully a heel Punk getting on Hardys case & more gloating from Jericho.

Anybody else think Micheal Cole would crap himself if told he couldn't use the words "viper" or any other "snake" references anymore. Although, if your trying to call a match by an uncharismatic drooling boob, I suppose you have to try to make the story interesting. Cause Orton's telling the same damn boring one, every damn time. Oh, HHH is back? Well that should give them some new material to work with.......F

Brilliant booking job here . . . cuz, Orton the champion putting Batista the challenger on the shelf makes ZERO sense story-wise, and the future title match would have ZERO build, ZERO heat, and ZERO payoff. Way to cheapen the title even more, Retards.

Here's a question: What the hell was Trips doing in an ambulance? Has he been hanging out in there for the past 6 weeks?

Posted By: Logic (Guest)  on June 09, 2009 at 10:07 AM

I enjoyed this episode of Raw. I think Randy Orton is one of the most boring and least talented "sport entertainers" ever. It was great seeing Orton get what was coming to him.

Another added bonus was Vicky Guerrero resigning to be with her family. I am very glad she will not be on tv anymore. I was so happy when HHH got out of that ambulance and enjoyed every minute of that beatdown. The crowd chanting for The Pedigree was just icing on the cake.

Also: How much time passed between the point where the referee started to count out Batista and HHH entered the ring? Unless a wrestler in the WWE is counted out after being outside the ring for longer than 110 seconds, Orton should be the champ.

Posted By: Guest#1215 (Guest) on June 09, 2009 at 03:29 AM

The referee stopped the count at around 8 and told Orton and Legacy that Batista was there. Therefore, Batista did not get counted out. Randy Orton is NOT champion. The title is most likely vacated since Batista is out for surgery.

"yea....I know Wrestlemania was horrible, but at least give them a chance to work on their chemistry"
___________

They've...had...FIVE...YEARS!

I was swearing non-stop for the entire last ten minutes of the show. Seriously. Orton as champion I can handle...at least there was a possibility of something fresh there. But OF COURSE, instead of elevating someone new when Batista gets injured, they go RIGHT BACK to the fucking well again and put Triple H back on TV. Did it feel to anyone else like it's been two months? Not me.

This is not only shameless favortism, it's downright COWARDICE on the part of WWE. I think they're actually AFRAID to push anyone new. Granted, the last two times they tried (RVD, Bobby Lashley) it blew up in their faces, but for fuck's sake, Triple H is not going to live forever, and most of his best days are behind him. They've got to take a chance on somebody some time.

MVP. Miz. Kofi. Hardy. Dibiase. Rhodes. The Colons. These guys are the future - in fact, they're the PRESENT - but right now they're rotting. There's no reason for it.

Anyone see the Monday Night Wars DVD where Rey Mysterio Jr. says that the reason WCW died was their failure to make new stars? To paraphrase:

And you have for 9 years now since WCW died. Now please make some new ones.

MVP has killed his own push. Yesterday, when he spoke to the crowd, they didn't know if he was being heel or face. He needs to make up his mind. He won't make it as a tweener.

HHH coming back is gay. But you know, with Edge showing up, he may be in the picture to fight for the vacant WWE Title.

Orton should be gone, for awhile at least. Let Legacy go and win the Tag Titles, that will put butts in the seats. Why would a guy always surround himself with two losers? It didn't even work for Edge, how could it work for Orton. he needs to trim the fat.

Batista, he sucks the bag. I hope he moves over to ECW on his next return.

I hate TNA, but Dr. Stevie is amazing.

Last night I didnt watch RAW at all. It was a great night and it sounds like the same old, same old.

-Build Orton and Legacy as killer heels
-Have Company man destroy all 3
-Build to uninteresting and boring PPV match

I guess it must be repeated every 3 months. Now it will be interesting to see what happens to the rating now HHH is back. I'll jsut watch ECW and SD from now on.

I did see a pic of Miz's T-Shirt. I WILL buy 20 of them.

listen guys...I love wrestling...I have watched wwf/e wcw and TNA and various other promotions along the way...but everything from storylines to character development to secondary titles has fallen mightily...Wrestling needs shock factor and fresh material...not HHH vs Orton or Cena every PPV...Not even edge vs Hardy every PPV...its just boring...Im glad they put the IC title on Jericho but he should of never lost it to rey...you need to make the belt important and have him have like a year long run with it...A year where he builds it as the fighting mans championship, where he would go out of his way to die for that belt...Cheat, steal, bleed his way to keeping that IC belt...Then when someone like benjamin or morrison or whoever takes it from him they will instantly be made a main eventer...also...give us an NWO...give us a stable of unstoppable forces that tear this brand division apart..that create havoc and dont get beat up by one man twice on the same show like the legacy and need to resort to chairs...when the NWO was formed hall and nash would come in the ring and kill everyone 2 on 1 because they were beasts and had the numbers game...Turn Cena now and ride it to wrestlemania..dont turn him FOR wrestlemania ala hbk vs hogan summerslam or even hbk taker mania...Create momentum through time with these turns...You take Cena, Orton, Show, Benjamin, Jericho, and Punk and you have a stable that is prominent on both brands...you have edge turn face and things are shaken up

Boy this RAW was odd. I have no issue with HHH coming back, only that it will involve the WWE title.Orton should have destroyed HHH at WM then went for the belt. It would have established his dominance much better. I always felt the feud with Orton was too personal to have the belt involved. If HHH stays away from the strap (which he won't) he can play a role. For those who say Orton and Legacy get buried again, it was about time Orton got killed on RAW. In the end the heel has to pay for his actions at some point, and I'm sorry he has been boring as Hell lately. And if they were serious about Legacy being a stable it needs more wrestlers and Cody and Ted Jr need the belts to establish themselves as legit.

I would say its overdue for the 'E' to push Miz, MVP, move Christian to RAW, keep Regal on tv anyway you can, and yes please turn both Cena and Edge to freshen these guys up! I would go as far as moving the entire tag team division to ECW and let teams develop there. It gives ECW a great dynamic and more to focus on.

And remember when the womens division was solid? I barely do either.

all you children bitching about long term feuds (HHH & Orton as example) would never have survived as a fan through the 1970's and 80's. i guess it is to the point now that ADHD booking is expected to be the norm, especially since the Attitude Era made it famous, but really...long feuds don't do any harm to the casual fan, and the casual fan is the target market, not the whiny bitch contingent of the IWC.

Ok, ok, enough of the HHH hate'n… I'm board of the same old stuff to but lets talk about something positive…
The segment between Maryse and the Miz… this, this is why these two deserve the push they are getting. Because on top of being "ok in the ring" (ok Maryse is get a little better each time.. Baby steps folks) they are great characters and tell a GREAT story.
This is where Divas like Kelly Kelly and Maria fail so miserably. They can't wrestle worth a damn (no improvements at ALL in how long) and they can't tell a story to save their life…Vince, you can keep your damn eye candy.. Just keep them out of the ring and off of the mic

There's something I really don't get about the titantrons kayf-wise. Who controls it, and if they do, how do they know when to play someone's music? Wouldn't they play it if they see that guy about to walk out on to the ramp?

If so, why the hell did they play Batista's music? Did they just say oh, maybe he'll show, we'll play his music.

Another thing is- what happened to the championships cannot change hands by countout or disqualification rule? Wasn't Orton intending to win the title by countout? And if winning by forfeit does count for championship winning, then in the eyes of the WWE The Miz is 7-0 against Cena, and Lawler is 1-0 against Batista, Sammartino and Hogan?

Lastly, I think it was stupid to have Trips' face appear on the titantron, and do the whole ambulance thing. It just seemed weird, and the surprise i normally would have shown didnt appear. If theyd just played his music and had him come out, then i would have been surprised. I guess I'm one of those people who likes a titantron return/debut. Its just cooler and more ceremonious, than having a guy jump the barricade or have a guys face appear on the screen.

Lastly, The Miz and MVP are the only reason to watch Raw. Thats it.

As for Smackdown, they seriously rule. I know a few marks- like, serious marks- that think Raw sucks and Smackdown rules. ECW will never really accomplish anything without going extreme- they were showing the best wrestling before the draft, but now Smnackdown has sapped all the talented workers out of Raw and Smackdown.

So, watch Smackdown, and all will be right with the world.

Did anyone mark out when Punk cashed in? Like literally jumped out of their seat? Cos i did. I stood up, jumped up and down and chanted his name. My brother made fun of me.

I remember thinkin after Extreme Rules- I wish I could watch Smackdown right now. But alas, Raw is the only WWE show on, and i need my fix of wrestling, no matter how pathetic...

Weren't most of you the same guys that were "puzzled" how Batista won the title after it was made known he had an injury?

This is the same exact thing they did last time, batista wins the title and then has to relinquish it (without LOSING it) due to an injury. it is like a rotation, how else are they going to have the same four guys kep holding gold? And have them retain an iota of credibilty. You can only have so many trible threat, fatal four-ways and all that junk. To make peopel think that ALL four have a LIGITIMATE reason to claim they can be champ. Pllus they have to keep a couple off them out of the show for awhile so that it really doesn't get cluttered.

This shit is so predictable now it is sickening. But this whole Cena and Miz/big show thing is tired and old. So maybe they bring Shawn Michaels back to replace Cena as the fourth wheel with HHH, and Orton, and an (injured) Batista.

Batitsta should have gone rogue along time ago, not just heel but full on hate everyone, because orton just can't seel it and be the leader of some group of stiffs.

To top it all off they actually have Santino now wrestling and not on a mic somewhere butchering people's names or dressing as a women. They also don't know oppurtunity when they see it. Have Big SHow come out and consol pig face (after all didnt they build up that side story more than enough?) get rid of the Big Show Cena angle and move on, then maybe have Santina come out to Edge. Something actually creative. Then you somehow figure out how to get Christian over then you have Christian and Edge with Santina as their manager and build up a nice storyline with Big Show and Chavo. Maybe even turn Mysterio heel or tweener, for awhile (I don't like him anyway), then have him (if they insist on pushing Santino to wrestle) put Santino over. But that makes too much sense.

Also would love to see Gold Dust get out of the stupidity and come back as Dusty, and beat the crap oout of the other rhodes and be joined up with Snuka's kid or the Samoans kid. but I think both of them have been released. But it is amazing how they push this second generation crap, and Dusty has been wrestling for nearly 20 years now it seems. That way they get rid of Hornswoggle and Dusty (who can actually wrestle) can get out of that stupidcostume. Hell have the dream come out and pull some semi realistic hyperbole with him, make him snap and he loses the persona not to listen to his dad but to beat bown his half brother and hurt his dad that way.

Way too many good angles these people don't even think about sitting there staring them right in the face.

But they are only interested inpromoting 5 or 6 guys so it isn't surprising the mid card stuff changes so much and has little to no imagination.

All things said... give it to Triple H guys. He still knows how to bring the fans and show back. Really... you want the no wrestling talent Batista as champion for 4 months. Or Orton who makes me want to fall asleep. Triple H is all RAW has going for it right now besides Santino's stand up comedy matches.

And if winning by forfeit does count for championship winning, then in the eyes of the WWE The Miz is 7-0 against Cena, and Lawler is 1-0 against Batista, Sammartino and Hogan?
actually lawler beat hogan on a nightly basis when almighty was a jobber in memphis

It's gonna be Batista vs HHH vs Orton for the Title on the 3-Brand RAW next week

You know, whatever happened to enjoying wrestling for what it is? Looking at the posts, how can you take this so seriously. Its entertainment.

Festus, Goldust & Santino? Ridiculously hilarious. Altho I feel Hornswoggle needs to go.

The Edge/Vicki segment? Pure heel comedy. I see no face turn. That was Edge being the ass that we love him to be.

Legacy 'breaking' Batista's arm? Old school Horsemen beatdown homage. Inhale it.

Its just FUN. Its the reason we're fans. Enjoy it.

I'd like to know who is buying the use of a sledgehammer as a weapon that HHH has been repeatedly allowed to use? Doesn't believability matter to any WWE fans at all? I suppose the ones it did matter to all stopped watching and what they have left over is the people who will watch anything Vince gives them, no matter how insulting to their intelligence. I'm not 260 pounds like HHH but if I hit someone with a sledgehammer, they're not coming back, not next week, not next month, not ever.

I was pulled over by a cop a few days ago. He told me to step out of the car and stand on the sidewalk. He kept asking me how much I had to drink that day. I kept telling him I don't drink. I got so tired of it that I decided to hit him with the RKO. I turned to walk away and as he grabbed my shoulder from behind, I grabbed him around the neck and hit him with that move on top of his patrol car. Then I busted into the car and erased the videotape so no one could watch it later.

The referee stopped the count at around 8 and told Orton and Legacy that Batista was there. Therefore, Batista did not get counted out. Randy Orton is NOT champion. The title is most likely vacated since Batista is out for surgery.

Just because the ambulance shows up doesn't mean stop the count. The ref never saw Batista! The count should have continued. Even if the ref thought Batista was in the ambulance, once he saw that it wasn't him, he could have resumed the count. Orton should definitely be champion.

I just wanna say that it is time to cut Batista. The only reason I see them keeping him is he still fairl popular (why I don't know) and he really would be a big draw for TNA. I honeslte see there being some shifting of the rosters as there is no way anyone thinks Raw is a good show right now. I also thought that Regal, Kofi, Matt and MVP all looked a bit sluggish tonite.

I honestly only watch Raw for a few reasons anymore, but they differ from the majority of the IWC. I've watched Raw for the younger talent, but anymore I mainly watch ECW for that, besides The Miz and Kofi Kingston. I also watch Raw for Santino. For around the past 1 1/2 years, everything he has done has been very watchable (the hog pen match was bad, but the moment of him punching Chavo with a bucket on his head was worth it) and funny to my friends and I. From his butchering of every wrestlers name to his hilarious dumb- jock esque attitude. His bogus victories over anyone - even Beth Phoenix, have kept me watching. The celebration he does after his matches is perfect. I totally dig the storyline of him actually hitting his moves, it fits perfectly with the new oddities stable, which also reminds me of the J.O.B. Squad. The Santina gimmick is funny as hell, but I hope it isn't pushed too far. I'm obviously a Santino mark, but it's hard not to be when he's possibly the funniest wrestler to ever be in the WWE, and also probably the most charismatic (for what his gimmick is) in a long time. By the way, I know several younger kids who HATE Santino because they think he's stupid and don't understand his comedy...because they're not old enough to. Anyway, I watch to see if Vince actually cares anymore, or if he's into just making money. He's obviously desperate for higher ratings, which is why Raw has been so different from everything else lately. He's trying to appeal to all fans, but it's nearly impossible to do that when he's back in his early-to-mid nineties faze of making money off of the kiddies, simply because he isn't very threatened by his competion. TNA needs to get better and gain more viewers in a hurry, or the WWE will continue to be sub-par. I know that the WWE will become better, the question is WHEN will it become better.

i dont see how you people keep on whining how "it's so predictable" and "its the same crap over and over". im sick and tired of it. i hate when people whine about things that alot of people like me dont care about at all. now onto what happened on raw. well we can all tell that we are definately glad to see vickie guerrero resign and be gone from WWE forever and maybe she might pop in a few times during the next couple of years. i really hope that Ric Flair becomes GM of WWE because he might knock some sense into what has been happening over the last couple of months. then we might see some real action. also i am glad that Triple H beat the hell out of Randy Orton because he really deserves it. i hope randy orton leaves the wwe for a while because it seems that he can never do something himself. If he beats up someone he has to do it with help all the time. And orton is very stupid because if his "help" is really going to work, he should pick some good wrestlers in stead of the sucky cheating ones that have to use and object to hurt someone.NEXT TOPIC! i think it is sad that we wont be able to see batista whoop ass for the next couple of months. i cant wait until he comes back from his injury. now for the next thing im kinda hoping that they can take away the big show from this cena miz thing thats going on. that might make things more enjoyable to watch because i havent seen cena beat someone in a long time because big fat show keeps on interrupting. im also hoping that if orton is going to be gone from wwe for a while that they should throw in another peson into the mix for this vacant title thing. maybe kofi kingston or MVP. that might make things more intersting.
taking regal away from this USA title would also make things better because most of us think that regal is just some wimp that cant fight for nothing and keeps getting in the way of whatever is going on at the moment just lagging it on for the next week. now i dont think that the wwe raw stinks or anything. im just saying things that might make stuff better. GO BATISTA HHH BOO ORTON LEGACY REGAL

Batista is still Champ. The Swine quit therefore that stipulation has been put out to pasture.
