411's WWE Raw Report 06.22.09
Posted by Rob McNew on 06.22.2009

-So tonight the Donald Trump era begins live from Green Bay on the first ever commercial free edition of Monday Night Raw. Triple H goes after the WWE Championship in a last man standing match against the new Champion Randy Orton, and the Donald will make a live appearance. Vince also promised a farewell address, and oh yeah there is a pay per view Sunday.

-Live from the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI

-Hosted by Michael Cole & Jerry "The King" Lawler

-Trump has been added to the open, and the set is now adorned with the Trump logo. The logo for Raw now also has the Trump logo included.

-Donald Trump is out to open the show, and is accompanied by Kelly Kelly. Trump welcomes us to Monday Night Raw, and says that even though he is the owner it is our show. He says to show us about that millions of people will watch commercial free, and more importantly for the fans in attendance he is going to refund everyone in attendance whatever they paid for tickets. Trump says we will see the greatest matches in the World for nothing. Does this mean Smackdown is on tonight? He says $245,000 is the gate and he's giving it all back. The crowd seems to like that.

-John Cena is out next in new John Deere themed attire, and says he is taking his hat off to take Trump because tonight we get to see a World Title match between HHH and Orton and we're going commercial free. He says tonight he even put him in a match with Big Show. Really? I hate Trump already. He says Trump is trying to make a statement, and that reminds him of a certain superstar in particular. That takes us to a recap of MIz's antics from the past few weeks. Miz says Cena's always got something interesting to say, so he asks Miz to come out and see what he has to say this week. Miz comes out, and says there is nothing more to say. He's said everything to say to Cena, and he's done nothing because he's a coward. Cena says that's interesting from a guy standing on the ramp while he's in the ring. Miz then goes to the ring to get face to face with Cena and again calls him a coward. Cena says normally this would be the portion of the show where Miz begins to pick up his own teeth. Cena says we're not going to that though, but instead he's going to give Miz what he wants. Cena says for the first time ever The Miz will main event a pay per view when he wrestles John Cena, but the bad news is Miz has a main event match with Cena. Cena says for two months Miz has said anything to get him riled up, and asks him if he knows who he is. He says he went into the Hammerstein Ballroom and came out alive, he's been booed out of the hall of fame, and he's had 85,000 people tell him he can't wrestle on the grandest stage of them all and he's still here. Cena says he doesn't get rattled, but asks Miz if he knows what rattled is. He says rattled will be when Miz gets in the ring Sunday and he looks around realizing he brought a knife to a gun fight. Cena says in six days Miz will realize doesn't belong here, and The Real World has been cancelled. Six more days until he finds out what everyone else already knows. He's not a reality show has been, but a WWE never was. Cena says now is the part of the show where he puts his tail between his legs and goes back to the locker room and pray. Pray that he makes it out of Sunday in one piece. Miz takes a cheap shot at Cena, and then runs to the locker room as Cena laughs it off. Strong promo from Cena totally burying Miz, but I'll tell you what. After that promo Miz absolutely has to win Sunday.

-Earlier today Vince's limo broke down in front of the arena, and he tries to force his limo driver to give him a piggy back ride to the arena.

-Jim Ross and Todd Grisham are at the announce table with a bucket of Kentucky Grilled Chicken. Commercial Free my ass.

Jeff Hardy, The Great Khali, & Rey Mysterio (w. Runjin Singh) vs. Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, & Edge
One of these is not like the others, one of these just doesn't belong. CM Punk, shockingly not holding a Pepsi, joins the announce team as Khali starts with Ziggler. Khali chops away at Ziggler before bailing to his corner, and tagging Jericho. Jericho smacks Khali to little effect, and gets a big chop for his trouble. Khali sends all three heels over the top to the floor, and then gives way to Jeff Hardy to hits a sommersault tope on to the heels. Mysterio heads inside and dives off Khali's shoulders with a splash. Khali starts to head to the top rope, but is stopped by Jericho. Khali regains control quickly, and tags in Mysterio who hits an enzaguri setting up 619. Edge trips up Mysterio as Punk asks if he can partake in the chicken at the announce table. Ziggler tags in and drops a knee on Rey for a two count. Tag to Edge who misses a dropkick, and then gets a spin kick by Rey. Tags to Hardy and Ziggler follow and Jeff hits a pair of clotheslines. Jeff knocks Edge and Jericho off the apron, and drops a leg on the mid section of Hardy. Edge comes in with a spear to Hardy, but is met by Khali who goes for the Punjabi Plunge. That is stopped by Jericho who goes for a codebreaker that is blocked by the big man. Edge comes back with a spear to Khali, but Rey dropkicks Edge into 619 position. Drop toehold also sets up Jericho for it, but he is able to bail to the floor leaving only Edge to take the move. Mysterio hits an Asai Moonsault to Jericho on the floor leaving just Ziggler and Hardy the legal men inside. Hardy connects with the twist of fate, and the swanton finishes at 5:09. Really fun match for only five minutes, but the question remains why are we having a Smackdown match on Donald Trump's Raw? After the match Punk slides in and mockingly raises Hardy's hand which Jeff takes exception to.
Winners: Jeff Hardy, The Great Khali, & Rey Mysterio (Hardy pins Ziggler-Swanton Bomb **3/4)

-Vince tries to get into Trump's office, but it is locked so instead he has to deal with Santina. Vince complains about Trump giving people's money back, and Trump stealing his office. Santina says they should share an office. Trump comes out and says this is now his office, and Vince's office is down the hall. Trump then introduces himself to Santina, and asks who she is. Santina introduces herself as Miss Wrestlemania and says she works here. Trump says he's doing the same thing to her that he did to Miss Califiornia, and that's fire her. As soon as she disappears Santino appears and is sad that she got fired, but thinks that she had her run. Nice camera trick.

Primo (w. Carlito) vs. Cody Rhodes (w. Ted Dibiase)
Before the match Primo guarantees that after the Bash they will be Unified Tag Team Champions, and Dibiase and Rhodes only Legacy will be as Orton's groupies. Cody grabs an arm wringer, and takes down Primo by the hair. Primo counters into a head scissors, and then grabs an armbar. Primo rams Cody into the corner, but Cody is right back with a bulldog for two. Snap mare from Cody is followed by a knee drop. Primo comes back with a shoulderblock, and but gets dumped to the floor by Cody. Back inside Cody covers for two, and then grabs a reverse chinlock. Primo comes back with a headscissor takedown out of the corner, and then a dropkick. Back elbow from Primo gets two, and then a jackknife rollup gets another two. Cody hits the ropes and stops a backdrop attempt with a kick. Side Russian legsweep from Cody gets two, but Primo is right back with a small package for a near fall of his own. Primo goes for a springboard crossbody, but Cody rolls through and with a handful of trunks gets the pin at 3:52. Nothing much to see here.
Winner: Cody Rhodes (Pinfall-Crossbody Rollthrough *1/2)

-Vince is still looking for his office, and runs into Hornswoggle and Goldust. Goldust says he's thinking about giving Trump his wig after it worked so well for Goldberg. Goldust wants to try it on another billionaire to see how it works, and puts it on Vince. Goldust points Vince to his office and runs like hell after Vince takes it off in error. Vince's office is naturally a toilet stall. The punchline? Festus was taking a dump in it while reading the Wall Street Journal. I'm not sure if that's hilarious or terrible. I'm gonna go with the latter.

WWE Championship Last Man Standing Match: Triple H vs. Randy Orton ©
Well here we go with the third annual Orton-HHH Last Man Standing Match. I'll say one thing. This had better be good to save this dog of a first hour. Orton attacks at the bell, and they trade punches in the corner with HHH getting the better of it. HHH fires Orton into the ringpost sending him to the floor, and HHH follows out after him. HHH sends Orton into the announce table, and then back inside to deliver a spinebuster. Pedigree attempt by HHH is countered by Orton into an whip sending HHH over the top to the floor. HHH sells a knee injury for a moment, but then clotheslines Orton as he follows out after him. HHH drops Orton onto the barricade, and then fires him into the crowd. The ref begins to administer the count, but Orton is up at four. HHH follows him into the crowd, and throws Orton into hockey boards. Orton crawls back toward ringside, and draws Orton in allowing him to whip HHH over the barricade back to the ringside area. Orton chop blocks the knee of HHH, and orders the ref to count. Trips is up at four, but Orton drives the ringstep back into the knee. HHH is up at six this time, but Orton again uses the ringsteps this time off the head of HHH. HHH is again up at six so Orton fires him back inside dropping the knee on the apron. Orton chops the knee, and continues to work on it. Orton delivers some of his signature stomps to the injured knee, and then delivers a knee drop to it. Orton goes for a kneedrop again, but HHH moves out of the way buying Trips some time. Orton is right back though as he slides to the outside taking HHH's legs out from under him and wrapping the knee around the ringpost. Orton grabs a chair, but HHH comes back kicking the chair into the face. Orton is able to grab the chair again, and deliver a brutal shot to the head of HHH with it. HHH gets up at eight, but Orton is there to pounce pounding HHH back down. Orton clears off the announce table, and rams HHH head first into it. Orton sets up for the RKO on the table, but HHH counters with a low blow to stop it. HHH goes for the pedigree, but Orton counters into an RKO on the table which doesn't break. HHH is able to slid off the table to his feet at nine to break the count. What bullshit. RKO on a fucking table should be enough to get the win. Orton charges at HHH, but gets a backdrop into the table by the game. Both men are down, but reach their feet at eight. HHH grabs a monitor and rams Orton in the head with it before again collapsing himself. Quickly both guys are back to their feet so no count, but HHH is in control taking Orton up the ramp ramming him into the barricade in the process. Towards the stage they go with Orton meeting the steel barricade several times along the way. HHH delivers a spinebuster to Orton on the ramp, but Orton is up this time at nine. HHH goes for the pedigree on the ramp, but that is countered into a backdrop from Orton. This time its HHH who is up at nine, but he is quickly met with a right hand from Orton. They trade blows back on the floor next to the stage with Orton firing HHH into the side of the stage. Orton goes for an RKO on the floor, but HHH counters sending Orton over the production equipment and into the crowd. HHH finds a ladder underneath the stage, and goes to hit Orton with it. Orton ducks and HHH takes out a production team member instead. HHH checks on the innocent bystander like a good babyface, and that allows Orton to attack regaining control. Orton drops the knee of HHH down on the stage, and then grabs the ladder for his own use. Orton takes out the injured knee of HHH with the ladder, and rams it into the head as well. Orton sandwiches HHH's knee inbetween the ladder and then stomps on it several times. Orton tells the ref to stop the count because he's not finished yet, and then sets up the ladder on the stage. Orton pulls HHH to his feet, and sets up for the RKO while climbing the ladder. HHH counters that, and then fires the ladder into Orton. HHH hits the pedigree on the ramp, but appears to be too injured to reach his feet. He attempts to pull himself with the use of the ladder, but the ladder gives way and HHH collapses. Both men are counted down for the draw at 20:09 and Orton retains. This actually works well for the match on Sunday as HHH's knee injury will play into the psychology of that match, and we still don't have a decisive winner. The downside is this was FAR superior to their match that main evented the biggest show of the year. You know, the show we paid 70 bucks for. All in all though, bullshit finish aside, this was a pretty good brawl.
Winner: Draw (Double Knockout ***1/4)

-Miz runs into Maryse in the back, and she tells him not to even waste her time until he does something impressive to John Cena. She says one cheap shot is not impressive. Miz says he proved that tonight Cena can't rattle him, and six days from now he will not only prove that he belongs here, but he owns Cena.

-Trump is back out with Eve and Maria, who it should be pointed out are on the show he DOESN'T own, but those are just minor details right? Trump says there's nothing like really good ownership, and says that earlier tonight he said after the show they're getting their money back. He says for all the people watching at home we get no commercials. Trump says he's not going to appoint a General Manager, but instead he's going appoint a celebrity host every week. Oh lord…kill me now. He says it could be an actor, actress, WWE Champion, but every week its going to be someone different. He says he will be working for us, and we'll get lots of freebies from Donald Trump. He says the greatest thing to happen will be Wrestlemania XXVI. That finally brings out Vince, and says he's had enough of what Trump is doing. Vince says he had no idea that Trump was going to do this commercial free stuff, and he loses a lot of money when he does that. Uhh…why? HE DOESN'T OWN THE FUCKING SHOW ANYMORE! He says there are rumors that Raw will be commercial free every week, and that tickets will be free every week. Vince says he can't do that because in six months time he'd be bankrupt. SERIOUSLY THIS MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE WHATSOEVER. Trump says this is peanuts, and he can do whatever the hell he wants. Trump says a lot of his billionaire friends want to buy this from him, and he could double his money whenever he wants if were to sell it. Vince asks how he could be so stupid, and says Trump played him. He says this is a well orchestrated plan to drive Vince into bankruptcy. Vince admits that Trump is smarter than him, and offers to buy Raw back for the same price he paid. Trump says he has no interest in that deal, so Vince says he'll pay him what he paid plus 25%. Trump turns it down again, because he likes the people and likes letting them in for free. Vince offers goes to 50 and then 75%, but Trump keeps turning him down. Vince offers him double his money back, and finally Trump finally agrees and sells Raw back to Vince. That's it? Seriously? Vince tells Trump one last thing. If he ever sees Trump again he'll knock him on his billionaire butt, and then fires him. Trump slaps Vince, and then security comes out and separates them. This makes absolutely no fucking sense whatsoever, but at least it's over. I think.

-Vince meets up with Legacy in the back, and kicks Legacy out of the building. He tells Orton that if he thinks he's in pain now he should wait until The Bash on Sunday. Orton tells him he can't even stand let alone fight, and if he had any decency… Vince cuts him off and tells him that Sunday he'll face HHH in a three stages of hell match, which I was excited about until I heard the three gimmicks. Regular match, falls count anywhere, and stretcher match. A stretcher match? Really. So Vince is a face again because he's on Trips' side? TNA has nothing on this shit.

Mickie James & The Bella Twins vs. Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes, & Maryse
Mickie starts the match with Rosa, and hits a forearm sending her to the heel corner. Beth tags in and delivers a shoulderblock to Mickie who tags in to Nikki. Beth drags Nikki to the corner, and tags in Rosa who pounds away. Nikki hits the ropes and delivers a hurracanrana which she follows with an armdrag. Rosa gets fired into the corner, and delivers a monkeyflip. Tag to Brie who gets rammed into the corner as things begin to break down. Rosa covers Brie for two, and then tags in Maryse. Backbreaker from Maryse gets two, and then drives her face into the mat. Camel clutch is locked in by Maryse, before she again sends Brie into the heel corner. Tag to Rosa is followed by a snap mare. Brie fires back with a forearm, and then tags in Mickie. Mickie delivers a clothesline to Rosa, and a neckbreaker gets two when Beth makes the save. The Bellas come in with a double dropkick to Beth sending them all to the floor. Maryse tries for a distraction, but it fails and Mickie hits Sweet Chick Music to get the pin at 5:06. Nothing great, but not terrible either.
Winners: Mickie James & The Bella Twins (James pins Mendes-Superkick *1/4)

-John Cena went to the Cubs game on Sunday, and all the Cubs are big fans. I may have just joined the Cena Hater club. Oooohh Soriano's a big fan…who the fuck cares. Talk to me when Pujols is giving guys the attitude adjustment.

The Big Show vs. John Cena
It's the rematch the world was waiting for. Cena ducks a right hand, and hits the ropes delivering a shoulderblock that sends Show to the floor. Cena heads outside after him, but gets caught and dropped on the barricade. Back inside Show hits a spear on Cena, and then chokes him out with a boot to the throat. Suplex from Show gets a two count, and that is followed up with a right hand to the body. Show hits a chop in the corner, but a second attempt is ducked by Cena. He tries to fight back, but gets caught again and dropped face first on the mat by Show. Cena rolls to the floor, and then is able to drop Show on the top rope when coming in. Cena goes for the shoulderblock off the ropes, but Show shrugs him off to regain control. Show sits down on the chest of Cena, and then delivers another bodyshot. Cena fights back to grabs a side headlock, but Show counters with a back suplex for a two count. Show delivers a standing ass splash in the corner to Cena, but Cena is able to dodge a second attempt. Cena hits the ropes, but runs into the elbow from Cena. I feel like I've seen this match before. Show delivers the standing legdrop for a two count, and then stands on the chest of Cena. Show charges at Cena in the corner, but runs into the boots. Cena hits a bulldog, and then delivers the Cenasser (credit to Dunn for that one). Five knuckle shuffle connects for Cena, but he turns into a chokeslam. Cena is of course out at two, so Show stands on his chest some more. Show goes for the Vader Bomb, and it connects. Show goes for the camel clutch, but Cena counters to the STF and I'll be damned this time he able to lock it in. Miz runs out so Cena lets it go to chase him off the apron, but Miz gets run off. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment, but Miz again jumps on the apron and pushes Show on top of Cena. That's enough to get the pin at 10:23. After the match Miz stands over Cena and gives a "you can't see me."
Winner: The Big Show (Pinfall-Mizerference ¼*)

-Orton is leaving the arena, but gets jumped by HHH and his head shoved the trunk of his rental car. HHH sits down next to him for a heart to heart and tells him that its not over by a long shot. Well fuck, I got my hopes up. He tells him this Sunday he's going to hell.

-Well if that's what a commercial free Raw is like I'll take the commercials. The people in the crowd got refunds, but can I get my 2 hours back. Easily one of the worst Raw's in a long time, and that's even with a pretty good WWE Title match thrown in there. The Donald Trump angle thankfully was just a one week thing to spike a rating. It will likely work, but they sure as hell didn't put out the show that's going to get people to come back. This Raw failed on just about every level imaginable.

I hope the new Raw GM is a bucket of Kentucky Grilled Chicken, so CM Punk can eat him.

Rob, are you crazy? I liked this Raw, just no pleasing some people

Just when I thought Samoa Joe joining the people he tried to kill/tried to kill him was the most idiotic a storyline could be, we get the greatness that is the Trump/McMahon angle. Why the hell did he sell Raw and buy it back for two times the price if he was 'going bankrupt' (a plotline they'll probably never mention again)? And what the hell was the purpose of any of that storyline?

Posted By: Pwnage (Guest)  on June 22, 2009 at 11:23 PM

who cares if the mighty iwc kids think raw failed?

you know what failure is: tna selling 2,200 tickets for a 24, 000 seat arena.

wwe is on the top of this circus industry and they will stay there for years to come.

wcw was only a threat to wwe back in the 1990s because of ted turner and the big steroid trial which hurt wwe financially.

wwe raw may not get the attitude era era but who cares when their competition is getting 1.2 cable ratings.

wwe took in 527 million in revenue in 2008 and if the economy did not tank, they would have made a ton more in profit.

5:09
3:52
20:09
5:06
10:23

Those are the lengths of the whopping five matches tonight. That adds up to approximately 44 minutes and 39 seconds of wrestling in a 2 hour, 7 minute show. That means actual matches took up around 35% of the show, with other stuff being 65% of the show.

I can't wait to see all these comments. My guess is that the comments will feature the usual typical ass-backwards IWC logic. All those bitching and moaning about Donald Trump being the new owner of RAW will now be the ones bitching that he isn't the owner of RAW anymore. Let it begin IWC.....

Posted By: JUSTINW (Guest)  on June 22, 2009 at 11:26 PM

Are you fucking high Rob? That was by no means the worst Raw in a while, we got a couple of decent matches out of this and the elevation of the Miz is always a plus.

45 minutes of actual wrestling, what a show!!!!

Posted By: Guest#8615 (Guest)  on June 22, 2009 at 11:30 PM

Um, it failed..how? They got rid of a storyline everyone hated, built two hot feuds going into a PPV, and gave an uninterrupted WWE title match that went 20 minutes and was pretty good. They were true to their word by leaving out commercials, only sparingly referring to KFC. Good Smackdown action as well, a good promo.
But no, it failed.
Oh, and the crowd was hot for Trump, and popped huge when he slapped Vince, but no, never mind, it was a failure.

I thought the raw was decent...

The 6 man tag match was exciting....and mcmahon was pure comedy...

I would have like for the trump and mcmahon thing to go further but i guess not.. People were feelin trump though...

When John Cena sets up the 5 knuckle shuffle, does he get the same surprised look and spend as much time setting it up as Scotty 2 Hotty would with the worm?

Oh, and real nice how that divas match got more time than the Primo/Rhodes match (which is actually building to something), and as much time as the SD 6-man.

I know it happens all the time, but did they really decide to ignore the brand extension so Trump can have his valets and a 5 minute match? That was just odd.

I actually missed the commercials.

thats the kind of show that makes me feel bad for the wrestlers. They cant be in the back watching this, and thinking this is a good show. hhh-orton is just comical now. I just hope at the bash, randy comes out and apologizes for being in the wrong. Hands HHH the title, and asks him if its ok if he just goes home now. Maybe if he's lucky he can come back in a few weeks and start a feud with goldust.

That was Actually the BEST raw since the Draft

The whole Trump/Vince thing made sense to me, because while Vince doesn't own RAW, he still owns the WWE and still has to pay off any standing debts that the company would rack up. Of course that is not really how it would work in real life, but if you are watching WWE for accurate business situations, you are most likely watching the wrong show.

Orton/HHH goes to a no-contest... wow, that wasn't predictable...

My head hurts with all of this Trump mess, but thank God it's over...hopefully.

As far as Vince being a "face" because he confronted Orton, that's not necessarily true. There have been plenty of heels who hated or had a vendetta against another heel (Oton/Edge anyone?). Now if he starts cutting face-like promos, I'll have a beef. But the feel I got from his promo was that of a bastard who simply hates another bastard.

WTF jack ass show is this. RAW sucks and so does WWE and Vince

Posted By: ABC (Guest)  on June 22, 2009 at 11:46 PM

Absolutely sad, right down to the ridiculous buckets of chicken gathering flies on the announce table. The show was commercial free (in case you didn't hear the 553 times they said it), and what the the hell do we get? About 17 segments with Vince and the completely illogical culmination of the Trump angle that in the end amounted to nothing but wasted time.

Can you imagine what Smackdown could do with a commercial free show? Or a three hour show for that matter? To think that they actually consider Raw to be the A show boggles the mind.

Shouldve been a 2 hour episode of Superstars. Smackdown matches.......why is Big Show and Cena the Main Event? Even HHH and Orton was ok

For a commercial-free show, this was a bit of a letdown.

It had some momentum going in, but petere dout around the second hour.

Main event blew (of course, it's Show/Cena) and the Trump/McMahon storyline made no fucking sense WHATSOEVER. At least that ugly bastard's off my tv.

But the title match was pretty killer. Can't complain about that good of a match on free TV.

What happened to them booking this like a ppv? If this were a PPV I would want a refund lke those people in the audience.

Um, it failed..how? They got rid of a storyline everyone hated, built two hot feuds going into a PPV
Posted By: Demyxis (Guest) on June 22, 2009 at 11:31 PM

1) They actually got everyone excited for the Trump storyline tonight, only to go and pull the rug out from under everyone's feet and kill it dead. Huge waste of time.

2) Two hot feuds? Orton/HHH lost everyone's interest at Wrestlemania and Cena/Miz is not a a legitimate feud, Miz is just being fed to Cena. Yawn.

Hahaha!! These WWE writers have absolutely no idea what's good anymore. What was the point of all this with Trump? Did anyone come out of it looking anything but stupid for associating with a show that made no sense whatsoever? Was it funny? Was it entertaining? No and no. Classic RAW, always guaranteed to suck.

Posted By: ted g (Guest) on June 22, 2009 at 11:32 PM

Because I enjoyed the show when I got the job, and now I have a commitment to uphold.

The show is just in a slump. I actually think the overall direction of the show might be improving after tonight, but this show as a complete and utter dog. Compared to last week in which the show was quite good, but things looked bleak for current storylines.

They got rid of Trump and we get a pretty good LMS match. It may not be SmackDown/Superstars quality but I'm happy with the last two weeks.

My only real complaint is that I kept forgetting there's a PPV this sunday. It seems like just yesterday there was a PPV

I hated this show.I like wrestling shows and this was not a good one. The hhh orton match was old school good. But whu do u remove your midcard and replace it with chicken and Trump? I bet TNA could come on Mondays and do fine if they geta UFC lead in.

I think it's now apparantly cool to do the double turn and slate the IWC for not liking Raw...

Well frankly I couldn't give a flying fuck.... Raw blew chunks (outside a really good last man standing match.. (hey wrestling on Raw!)

The Trump thing was a complete disaster...

Miz/Cena is a positive I guess but you just know that Miz is getting buried on Sunday where he will go and rejoin the rest of the Raw crew below the glass ceiling.. (I hope I eat my words I really do!)

Raw blew.... Smackdown main event seems pretty epic this week... very interested in where there going with Edge... the dude has no match and has headlined the last 3 PPV's! Intreged... possible another epic Morrison/Edge match on the cards???

SD>Raw..... and I say it in the most swarmy smug smarkish IWC way possible!!!

who cares if the mighty iwc kids think raw failed?

you know what failure is: tna selling 2,200 tickets for a 24, 000 seat arena.

wwe is on the top of this circus industry and they will stay there for years to come.

wcw was only a threat to wwe back in the 1990s because of ted turner and the big steroid trial which hurt wwe financially.

wwe raw may not get the attitude era era but who cares when their competition is getting 1.2 cable ratings.

wwe took in 527 million in revenue in 2008 and if the economy did not tank, they would have made a ton more in profit.

For all those raising the question about whether Vince is a face now because he's backing Trips over Orton, you may want to remember that Vince might still be feeling a little aggrieved at young Randall for a punt kick to the head a few months ago. And the one his son copped and the RKO his daughter copped etc etc.

Flame away.
Tonight I watched Raw for the first time in a long time and wondered what the hell is this shit! So you elevate Miz by having him talk trash to Cena and then he sucker punches him with no effect? The Last Man Standing match was good but what a bullshit finish.Smackdown match was good considering I had to see Khali. So thats two good matches out of five. Terrible main event, no chemistry, no anything between those two guys. Primo/Rhodes and the divas match were just there. And KY Grilled Chicken was mentioned only "sparingly"? Are you kidding me? It was every 45 seconds after the initial placement when the announcers were actually commentating. But all that aside, McMahon buys back RAW from Trump after a week for twice the amount paid?!?Look now there has to be some believability in any angle like this, so we are now to believe Vinnie is that bad a business man, the whole thing puts Trump over but who cares about this douchebag? This is ridiculous and lousy and lame and all kinds of defaming adjectives. They even managed to kill the crowd for the most part with it, watch closely and you'll see the crowd just die during the end of the Trump angle and only come back for the end of Cena match. Yes i know I'm trolling just bashing shit I don't know about, or i am a TNA mark, or a ROHbot but god damn this wrestling shit as a whole in the US is pretty much shit right now, unless Smackdown is on.

Ummm actually Rob, the whole Trump/McMahon thing is pretty easy to understand. According to the storyline, Trump only bought RAW, not the entire WWE. So he could do whatever the hell he wanted on Raw because he bought the right to it. But if he started giving away free tickets and having the show commercial free every week, Raw (the flagship show) would be making 0% profit which would in turn financially affect the entire WWE for the worst.

What I got from the confrontation between Trump and McMahon tonight is that Trump bought Raw and did the commercial-free and free ticket stunts because he knew it would make Vince freak out knowing that it would negatively affect the overall financial situation of the WWE. Thus it made Vince desperate enough to buy back Raw for twice as much as he sold it for. So Trump screws McMahon out of money and makes him look like an idiot in the process. Pretty easy to understand.

PS: Two very good matches and the advancement of a mid-card talent to the main event (in this case The Miz) definitely prevents this from being one of the worst Raw's in recent memory. It was actually pretty damn good.

"Donald Trump angle thankfully was just a one week thing to spike a rating. It will likely work,"

I'm glad people are now standing up to these trolls who slate the IWC all of sudden because its the cool thing to do.

Whoever before mentioned about not giving a shit about numbers its about quality... big THUMBS UP... I feel the same... frankly I couldn't give a fuck about numbers, sure if SD the ratings go up I'll smile but if they don't I'm not fussed... all I care about is watching a strong product that makes me PERSONALLY smile.

Numbers and popularity are not everything.... American Idol is the highest rated program in America.. does it make it the best to watch??? NO

Wolverine Origins (piece of turd)made I don't know a big chunk of money at the box office.. does it make it better than a movie like say Slumdog Millionaire... NO!!!

QUALITY is what counts... I'm free to slate Raw as much as I like and IMHO based on the 'quality' issue I believe it is absolute garbage at present.

Wow... So let me get this straight.

Show starts with a heel Vince berating some poor limo driver.

Jump to later Trump is out and talking about how he's going to run Raw, free admission, no commercials, and celebrity hosts. Crowd loves him. Vince comes out and says "you can't do that, you'll bankrupt me"... wait, what? Didn't Trump "buy" Raw? How would that bankrupt Vince?

Apparently it would somehow, so Vince offers to buy it back for double the price... Vince has tons of heel heat for this segment...

The very next thing on the show is Vince promising the top heel that he would make his life hell. WTF? I thought Vince was a heel.

I guess it just speaks to how terrible this whole HHH/Orton program has been handled going all the way back to pre WrestleMania.

Coming from someone who doesn't even WATCH TNA that's an amusing comment.

Perhaps Joe isn't DONE with the MEM. Did he not say that Kurt Angle was the last target? Someone else mentioned that in the not too distant past that Tazz and Angle had a hatred for one another. Tazz is coming to TNA - and will (worst kept secret ever) be exposed as Joe's mentor. Can you say "Tazz gets the laugh on Angle when Joe goes after him anyway?"

It would be a GREAT development to the storyline and it's something that WWE CAN'T do right now!

I'm sorry, but the EPIC whatever in the Vince/Trump storyline is the best that the E has right now? I was one of the few that thought that the segment last week was kinda funny in a sick sort of way, but they buried it tonight....after one week.

So we are all clear. I may be currently a TNA watcher but I DO watch E programming as well as ROH programming. I think NO ONE should be busting on the Russo/Jarrett/Mantell/Borash writing on TNA right now, given the commercial free load of crap that passed for RAW tonight.

Just sayin'....and the Cena/Show main event sucked.

OK...The Vince/trump stuff sucked but hey, in return we got a commercial free RAW and a PPV quality champi0nship match and PLUS the fans got to attend a wrestling show for free (if you have been to one you know that its the other fans, notthe workrate that makes it special). We got a brutal if non-title changing championship match. We got Mickie James (I LOVE me some Mickie James) and we got some comedy and at least one very good promo. And again, we got all that commecial free. We can all bitch and have the right to bitch at least today but I think for a 'free' show we got a little of everything a wrestling fan would want. Casual or die-hard they gave us a taste of what we want. Two wasted hours is WAY over the top. I think every wrestling fan could find something about this show they liked.

It's obvious that with the way the crowd shat all over the Trump angle last week, it had to be killed a.s.a.p. Vince got what he wanted out of it, though, lots of free publicity from an ignorant media that apparently still hasn't figured out that wrestling is scripted.

The free tickets were to mollify the crowd when they saw how nonsensical the ending of the angle was.

Anyhow, this looks to be yet another Raw that I'm glad I didn't waste 2 hours of my life on.

Unfortunately the way they left the Trump angle leaves it open for return.
So temporarily ending it - good.
The way they did it - bad.

Trying to get people to watch Smackdown is good. Hopefully that means that somebody with a bit of pull believes there is good stuff there and doesn't want to change it right now.

For those who think that the WWE is winning something - the ratings have not been good. Revenue is fairly flat and that is with the worldwide market.
The competition isn't just TNA either. How is WWE doing in comparison with MMA?
Wrestling is cyclical - cyclical as the face of the industry. And that face, or standard bearer as Triple H says, isn't drawing.

What I dont understand is how Trump isnt seen as a mega fucking heel here?

He obviously hates the WWE and SABOTAGES Raw by forcing them to lose money just so he can intentionally make a profit off of Vince.

Does he love the fans? No, he USED Raw and its fans to piss Vince off and thus make a double profit off of this show...

And we are supposed to cheer this guy?

Actually, looking back, he tried to sabotage the Bash PPV too cause he found out the main event and then gave it away for free with the LMS Stip on RAW...

Explain to me how that doesnt make Trump a mega heel to true wrestling fans.

The ugly idiot comes in and laughs off Vince and is all thankful of getting rid of him...AS IF VINCE WAS A NOBODY IN WRESTLING!!! Trump had this whole look of "Yeah I got rid of Vince, who was he anyways?!" He's the guy that MADE THIS BUSINESS!!!

I hate Donald Trump with a passion

You know whats sad. I used to love wrestling. Now, every other week I read what happens in WWE and am always disappointed by lack of creative storylines, anything original. I just turned down free tickets to TNA slammiversarry in Michigan, and I think I'm done altogether with this crap, they're steering it more towards children. I think Hornswoggle and Trump at the Wrestlemania in Detroit actually finished me off, and its been a slow dying period since then, me trying to hold on. Once NFL comes back on its over, MNF will steer my attention away from reading raw results.

First things first, no sludge commercials, so automatically a thumbs up from me. I'm easy to please sometimes. I'll start with the positives this week. Trump was live and he did a decent job. I'm glad Miz isn't playing a cowardly heel, the best kinds of bad guys are when they are actually seemingly strong. Cena shouldn't have laughed off the sucker punch, but Miz looked pretty good as a sneaky heel, i'll take what I can get. limo driver abuse segment was kinda funny but then ruled when Vince jumped up for a piggy back ride, he should have had to carry him all the way to the building though. I enjoyed the 6 man tag, and i like that they are building Ziggler up, and Khali actually looked good out there. Cody gets a win, sure a nothing match, but again i'll take a win for Cody anytime. Goldust is welcome on my TV anytime. Glad that Santina is gone and it was clever the way they did it, McDonalds! Mickie James looked great and pulled out some good moves, including a sweet kick, great job Mickie! I am enjoying the Maryse/Mickie fued, as I feel I haven't seen it 56 times already. In fact they haven't really had any physical interaction, it's nice. Ok now the dread. Trump actually got me excited about his version of Raw. Guest celebrity hosts, hell yeah. This monday night Raw presented by....Andrew Dice Clay. Imagine the possiblities! but no, Vince buys Raw back, and we are back to the usual. Oh well, it was fun thinking about...HHH vs Orton was not a good match and it was to slowly paced. They spent too much time on the floor just crawling around, trying to make the ten count. It felt like I was watching them in slow motion, and a HHH/Orton match in slow motion is my own personal 3 stages of hell. Neither of these men have enough offense to go 20 minutes with any kind of energy. Big Show pulled out some decent moves, but the match with Cena was just as slow and plodding. They spent all that time setiing him up as a knockout artist and he runs up against Cena and he doesn't even try it? The 35 slow punches to the ribs don't count, as they are delivered with the speed of well, lets say a HH/Orton match. Way too slow, and didn't have a lot of energy to it. I did like that Miz cost Cena the match though, makes things more interesting for Sunday. I didnt like the interaction between Vince and orton either. Why would orton ever think Vince would have compassion for him, the guy that kicked his son in the head, RKO'd and then kissed his daughter, and kicked him in the head, and kicked his son in law in the head, why would Orton expect anything except a beatdown from Vince? 3 Stages of hell, after the last man standing portion, technically wouldn't it be quite easy to win the stretcher match? Can we move on from Orton/HHH?

Nobody watches TNA because nobody knows when it's on and there's no point.

But with how bad TNA is, Spike or whoever has TNA should simply run TNA against RAW. Eventually word of mouth will get out that there's an alternative, and that could bring viewers to TNA. It's certainly better than whatever their plan is now.

1. The Miz suckerpunched Cena, then ran. That was brilliant! We all know how that's supposed to go: Miz hits Cena, gets in a couple of shots, Cena makes his own save, Miz gets FU'd. I love that Miz just hit him in the face and then got out on a high note. That's probably the best thing his characters done since this fued began.
2. Did anyone else notice Jeff Hardy stumble and possibly vomit during his entrance. Maybe he had a mouthful of water or something, but Jeff tripped and some kind of liquid spilled out of his mouth. Live TV can be so thrilling.
3. CM Punk asking if he was free to partake in the chicken was pretty funny. It reminded me of the occasional wacky comments he used to make while doing ROH commentary.
4. The last man standing match was pretty good, and the finish was a really sound and logical way to get to a double knockout. It was a nice touch of realism when HHH took out that stage hand with the ladder.
5. Primo and Cody was pretty good for a short match. It was weird seeing Cody get offence, but it would have blown my mind if I'd actually gotten to see him hit his finisher.
6. Show really dug deep into his moveset for the Cena match, busting out the Alley-Oop and the Hog Log. It would be cool if Show returned the favor and gave Miz a win on Sunday. I think a win (even a really cheap one) for Miz is necessary for this program to have any lasting value.
7. Trump's celebrity guest host idea sounded like it would most likely be terrible, but had an off-chance of being entertaining. I would probably enjoy a Raw hosted by Alec Baldwin. It was stupid how over they let Trump get his ideas get when the ultimate plan was to immediatly cancel them out and return the show to Vince. Raw needs a new direction so badly that I was willing to give this angle a chance.

Michael Cole was in top form tonight! He got owned by MY DAD! Triple H with the nut shot on Orton on the announce table. Cole: "A low blow! By the Cerebral Assassin!" Dad: "What's your balls got to do with your cerebral?"

Later, Cole said Green Bay hasn't seen a night like this since Bart Starr won two Super Bowls back to back. So the Packers won two Super Bowls back to back on one night?

And the McMahon/Trump angle just proves that this company has no idea how to pay off anything. Awful, awful storytelling. In fact, you can't even call it storytelling. Can you imagine in Spielberg had said, "Wouldn't it be cool if a guy was obsessed with flying saucers?" And the studio exec says, "Sure! And then what?" And Spielberg says, "Uh...I don't know, we'll figure that out when it's time to shoot the ending."

WWE hires Hollywood writers? I don't even believe that much. Hollywood is filled with utter garbage, and yet the typical episode of the worst sitcom still makes more sense than any given episode of RAW.

Actually, I'm one of those guys who enjoys reading these wrestling articles but do not confused me with you complainers. Really, so cause a bunch of preteens band together because they feel the ones telling them the truth is wrong? You are the same people that would chant for a teen to take off her clothes on 4chan, just cause you band together doesn't mean it's "wrong". Trust me, you guys are sad and no doubt big World of Warcraft players.

This show was a real let down. Why bother inserting Trump for a couple of weeks? Ya, I get it. Trump screws over Vince. Still doesn't make any sense to do it though.

The Smackdown match was really disappointing. Khali was tossing everyone out of the ring and the heels looked pretty stupid. Overall pretty dumb booking.

The title match was the highlight of the show. The ending wasn't bad at all. It helped set up a best 2 out of 3 falls match on a PPV. Jeez, when was the last time we saw one of those?

The womens match was boring, as usual. Hooking Beth up with two talentless holes is just too much for me. And poor Mickie working with the worthless twins herself. Meh! No wonder Victoria left. I guess I was spoiled after watching the two women go at it in the Monster's Ball match on Sunday. Now why can't we get WWE women to do something like that!

The other two matches, well the less said the better.

Overall, a two hour mess. Why bother not having any commercials? I'm sure most, if any, of the new viewers RAW got for this promotion won't return.

JJ,
I actually liked your explanation, but it doesn't hold to closer scrutiny. That storyline had more holes than Head Cheese.
Very poor Raw, yet again.

I was kinda bothered by this jabroni in the Hogan Appreciation thread who said The Hulkster never put anyone over in WCW.. so I ended up on youtube the entire night watching all of Hogan's matches where he jobbed clean.. then I kinda turned to the clocked and noticed it was 10:25 eastern.. I had ignored an entire 90 minutes of Raw and didn't even notice.

"5:09
3:52
20:09
5:06
10:23

Those are the lengths of the whopping five matches tonight. That adds up to approximately 44 minutes and 39 seconds of wrestling in a 2 hour, 7 minute show. That means actual matches took up around 35% of the show, with other stuff being 65% of the show.

Posted By: Josh (Guest) on June 22, 2009 at 11:26 PM"

I'm guessing Josh is young and wasn't around when Raw and Nitro were going head to head for a total of 5 hours of programming on Monday night and still had less wrestling time than that. 44 minutes in a 2 hour show is awesome. They're really stepping things up.

I remember going through the entire first hour of Raw without a match and watching the NWO out in the ring talking for almost an hour total in one show.

I think alot of people are overthinking the Trump angle.

When Vince said he would be bankrupt in 6 months, don't you guys realize he still owns the ECW, Smackdown, and Superstars franchises (kayfabe)?

I believe what was meant that if Trump gave away Raw for free every week, it would affect his bottom line profit within 6 months, and would wreck his business.

Come on. It makes a little sense.

First, McMahon did not go face by yelling at Orton.

He was highly pissed off and took it out on Orton, don't know how that turns him face all the sudden. You know Orton Punted him, shane, and Killed Stephanie, so what he is supposed to be buddies with him.

Secondly Rob you sir are an idiot. How does the Trump and McMahon promo not make sense? Trump bought the Raw brand, but the brand was still part of the WWE Universe, which Vince is Chairman of. That is why Vince said he would make him poor, because if Raw was always free, then why would people go to Smackdown and ECW? Seriously, you really need to tone down on, I know wrestling, and just watch it for fun and suspend belief. I came into work, and people who do not watch wrestling thought it was a really good show.

"wcw was only a threat to wwe back in the 1990s because of ted turner and the big steroid trial which hurt wwe financially."

that's comedy at it's best there..........now to the show, I'll admit that I didn't like it overall but as far as a good brawl through the crowd goes, orton and trips had a nice brawl and the opener was exciting. Other than that, this just felt like a long show that dragged on. Oh and for triple h's knee injury, he had me completely sold until he RAN and stomped on orton. Hopefully raw can get going in a positive direction next week but at this point I really miss the days of smackdown being on the CW network.

What an epic piece of crap. The Trump thing was damn near retarded. HHH v. Orton at the PPV again. MVP's push turns into a downward bump. I think the only idiots who thought a Miz interference gambit would be a surprise are the ass-clowns who wrote the show.

One of the worst recaps I have read in a long time. Keep it to yourself, Rob. Just give me the show.

And for all the people bitching about quality this and not caring about what TNA draws, it's real simple:

It is, an always will be about the money. I don't care if you have guys chopping each others heads off in the ring - if you only draw 2200 in a 24000 seat arena, you suck. Period.

That was something else. This one-week Trump ratings ploy was inane and isn't going to increase viewership week-to-week.

I think Trump's ownership of Raw was hurting Vince financially because Trump only owned the Raw brand. He had the timeslot, the wrestlers, and everything Raw, but he was still paying a percentage to World Wrestling Entertainment as a whole. Think of a person who owns a Subway franchise: if he starts giving away all sandwiches for free that's gonna hurt the Subway corporation as a whole.

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the title match, though. I thought the story of Hunter relying twice on his location (announce table and stage) to get to his feet played well into the finish of the ladder failing him, and leads well into a rematch. As non-finishes go it was pretty clever one.

Posted By: neverAcquiesce (Guest)  on June 23, 2009 at 11:03 AM

So who was the tech that took the ladder to the face? And what was the point of even having him do it? They wrote him out of the scene almost as fast as he came into it.

The show overall was not great. I took a bathroom break when the LMS match was on - tired of them.

The women's match was very difficult to watch. Everyone besides Mickie and Beth were not that great (esp. Maryse and Rosa). Maryse doing the same moves (hair flip, camel clutch, talk to the hand) and her obviously FAKE boobs, no muscle, can we just let this no-talent go?? I mean, she doesn't take risks, she doesn't fly, she doesn't *wrestle*, and she's NOT hot.

Trump fiasco, totally pointless angle. Bad idea to begin with. Whoever in Creative that came up with this atrocious idea should be released, instead of some other talents (Umaga, Kennedy?, Armando Estrada??). This made NO sense!

Festus coming out of the stall with the "Wall Street Journal" featuring a photo of "Neda" on the front page was tasteless.

I liked the Smackdown match though - Edge + Y2J = ++++. And I liked the Miz when he talks, it seems natural for him. Miz should have had the last words on Cena (by God say something about Cena's wrestling abilities or his boring T-shirt designs - what the hell was that!), do a double-turn with these 2,... COME ON, WWE CREATIVE!

wwe raw may not get the attitude era era but who cares when their competition is getting 1.2 cable ratings.

wwe took in 527 million in revenue in 2008 and if the economy did not tank, they would have made a ton more in profit.

Posted By: Guest#1667 (Guest) on June 22, 2009 at 11:23 PM

I'm sorry. But if Raw's ratings go down to the point where they cant financially support all 4 shows, it won't matter what imPact does.
The fact is that this Raw was better than what the IWC gave it credit for, but it was still abismal when compared to SD and made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Raw needs to take a page from their sister brand and run Raw more like SD before ratings fall below 3.
That or refuse the belts so all three brands are more competitive with each other.

I never thought I'd say this when he debuted as the annoying, "Hooah!"ing host of SD, but I really like The Miz, he has star written all over him. With that said, given the WWE's tendency to start/stop pushes on younger stars, I think we are looking at at least a year before he is seen as any kind of a threat on a main event level. Cena will probably beat him, and he will toil for another while in the mid card as a means of "paying his dues". If he continues to improve his game, there is no doubt in my mind that he will be a big star.

Overall, RAW was decent. HHH/Orton was a good match, but old news, and Cena/Big Show needs to stop NOW.

I know SD! is "epic", but I don't watch Smackdown usually because it comes on Friday nights. I watch RAW because it comes on Monday nights and I have nothing better to do. I've watched this garbage forever and probably will continue watching it every week, because I'm a creature of habit.

That leads me to ask, why DO you watch? What kinda masochists are on this site? If I HATED something as much as some of you guys do, I would stop watching. Maybe all the power of the vaunted IWC tuning out at once would wake Vince up and he would change the product for the better. Or maybe, none of our opinions amount to a hill of beans and nothing would change either way.

Pro wrestling is a cyclical business, it always has been. It IS currently in a downswing, but it is going to ebb and flow at its own pace, and it is going to go in the direction the owner wants it to go.

Always remember folks, it's just guys pretending to fight. don't get yourself too worked up over it.

And anyone who willingly refers to themselves as a "member of the IWC" is automatically a douche bag. Seriously, you are.

I like to judge a show about how long I keep in my DVR before I decide to delete it. Right now there are 6 Smackdown episodes waiting so if I want to watch any of the awesome Morrison/Edge/Rey/Jericho/Punk/Hardy/Benjamen matches again I can. Right now I have NO Raws on my dvr. The only reason I watch raw at all just in case they throw a SD match on there. I'm actually glad they made it this way instead of having two medicore shows they have one awesome one and one I can't wait to delete.

Does it appear to anyone else that Smackdown is the wrestling show and Raw is the sports entertainment show. Its also painfully obvious that no matter what Raw does the smarks are gonna shit all over it. Its clear that Mcmahon doesnt care about wrestling fans[ did he ever ? ]His main goal is to win over the fans that only watch when its the in thing to do. I am sure that the older fans will remember the early 80's when everyone and their mothers were watching Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper fight over Mtv. and the younger crowd im sure remembers the attitude era and the record breaking numbers it produced. Wrestling will rebound, and Vince mcmahon will be right at the forefront. After all he does have the track record and you never know when the next big thing will happen.

Cena vs. Big Show is boring and it sucks.
McMahon vs. Trump was boring and it sucked.

Why are people getting pissed off at others for bitching about the show? It was a piece of shit.

And yes, there are a lot of trolls that piss & moan about Raw's/WWE's quality just for the hell of it, but I get pissed when I see shit like I saw last night because of all the wasted potential. Create exciting gimmicks and/or storylines for people (don't make them bland idiots like Legacy), push people that bust their asses (looking at Shelton Benjamin), and wrap up storylines before they hit their expiration date (no one gives a crap about HHH/Orton).

I'm not being a troll by complaining about this stuff, I just hate seeing a program I used to get amped to watch being subpar when it could be so much better.

people need to realise it doesnt matter whether miz beath cena, he's getting the rub by appearing in promos and a match with him. He wont suddenly become a main eventer regardless of what happens

vince/trump isnt over, so everyone saying whats the point needs to jus chill and see how it plays out..it'll prob lead to summerslam which would make it good long term booking

Trump buying RAW is stupid. There's no point trying to cover it up. The whole point in storyline terms of Vince selling RAW means Trump owns it. Not rents it, not "becomes manager", OWNS it. Thus it would NOT be part of the WWE "Universe". When I buy a pair of Nike shoes, I don't pay royalties to Nike, do I? They didn't say anything about time shares or crap.

It was just stupid, and cutting it short only underlines it. It only put over Trump which serves no-one. It's just wasted TV time, which pretty much sums up every second a McMahon appears on TV.

.....................

I assume Vince would still own the PPVs and make money off of the "popular" Raw stars appearing on them? The selling of Raw was never explained - was it the brand, the show, did it include the actual wrestlers? If Vince still owned all the talents contracts he could have just pulled them off Raw. Some semblance of reality is needed or WWE becomes a joke.

So what poor sucker from the Indys did the WWE get to take a ladder shot to the face during the Last man standing match?

Posted By: Kristian (Guest)  on June 23, 2009 at 08:34 PM

Posted By: JJ (Guest) on June 23, 2009 at 12:45 AM

No JJ...

First off, it doesn't make sense at all if you have understanding of company ownership...they are sending McMahon off as if he can have nothing to do with RAW anymore since he sold it, but it is a part of the WWE...if it's still WWE, Vince still controls it because he is the chairman...so unless Trump was to take RAW and make it a part of a separate federation, then it's just insultingly stupid!

Secondly, it's not about whether the angle makes sense...it's more about how it was all made this massive deal with the end result being this apparent monumental waste of time...it was pointless and boring..
