411's WWE The Bash Report 06.28.09
Posted by Chris Lansdell on 06.28.2009

Greetings, humanity! Welcome to 411mania's Bash Report. We had a strong pay per view with some tremendous matches, some surprises and some disappointments. I'm here to see you through it all! Well, me and my army of cartoon characters. What do you think about that, mystery guest number 1?

Grrrrrrrrrroovy!

Well here! We! Go!

ECW Title Scramble Match: Tommy Dreamer © vs. Christian vs. Finlay vs. Jack Swagger vs. Mark Henry

GO! Christian starts off what could be the most exciting match on the card. 3-minute intervals between entrants, which will make for a very full ring. SWAGGA is number 2, complete with special ed gorilla entrance. A special "HI AND FUCK YOU!" to the 3 websites copying my feed word for word.

Lockup and...they lockup...kneelift by Swagger. Shoulder charges in the corner, w chip and a countered sunset flip by Christian. Rights by Christian, Swagger picks him up and hits a BIG power slam for 2. Submission hold locked in, modified abdominal stretch. Christian manages to get to his feet so Swagger hits a gutbuster then perches Christian on the top. Christian tries to counter with a tornado DDT, blocked by Swagger. Christian catches a sleeper but Swagger drives him back into the turnbuckle and applies a chancery takedown. Christian is backed into a corner, Swagger puts him on top again but Christian fights him off and gets a missile dropkick for 2. FINLAY is next! Christian avoids a charge in the corner and hits a kick as the mad tweener Irishman with the kid-pleasing music hits the ring at full throttle. Clotheslines for all! He drops Christian onto Swagger! Finlay roll to Christian, then he kicks Swagger out of the ring. Inside cradle by Christian! 1 count only. European uppercut and a leg drop to the gut by Finlay gets 2. Whip by Finlay, Christian catches him coming in and hits the diving European for 2. He runs the rops but gets tripped by Swagger from the outside and pulled to the floor! Swagger gets a boot to the gut and tries the Doctor Bomb, Christian counters and goes for the Killswitch, Swagger counters into a back suplex, Christain escapes out the back and hits the reverse DDT for 2. Belly 2 belly slam by Swagger as we get the countdown....DREAMER! He charges the ring and lebels Swagger, then catches Christian off the top with a gut shot. Bulldog to Swagger! Spinebuster bomb to Christian! 2 count only. Swinging neckbreaker to Swagger. Current champ: Finlay

Snap mare and spine kick by Christian to Finlay gets 2. Dreamers whips Finlay and hits a charging back elbow, but Christian slams him down. World's Strongest Slam to Dreamer! 3 count!

Winner: Tommy Dreamer last pinning Christian

Edge confronts the on-probation Teddy Long, and asks for a triple threat match. Long says "EH EH!" Edge says he pinned the number 1 contender and never misses a PPV when he's healthy. Long says take it up with someone who cares.

* IC Title vs. Mask Match: Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio

Rey is out and in a zebra outfit. Jericho is not in a zebra outfit.

Jericho goes for the mask early. Why not just win the match? He gets a headlock and talks trash. Shoulderblock takes Rey down. Boot to the gut and a whip by Jericho, he chrages but Rey gets a boot up and hits a top rope rana. Jericho goes to the floor, Rey tries a slide kick but Jericho catches his legs and WHIPS HIS HEAD INTO THE BARRICADE! That's Motrin pain. Jericho poses while Rey counts stars. Back inside, Jericho slingshots Rey's neck into the underside of the bottom rope, then gets a delayed suplex for 2. Crossface chickenwing applied by Jericho. Remember when that hold was inescapable? Rey gets placed on top backwards, Jericho goes up behind him and again goes for the mask. Rey elbows him off and hits a La Silla press! Rey charges into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for 2. Jericho takes Rey to the corner and chokes him a little. For fun. More EVIL HEEL stuff from Jericho as he kicks Rey under the rope and to the floor. Jericho tries to suplex Rey back in, he comes out the back and tries to rally with some shots but Jericho hits a muay thai knee to the head for 2. Butterfly lock by Jericho now. Rey gets to his feet and kicks the knee of Jericho, a whip is reversed by Rey hangs on to the ropes. Jericho charges but Rey moves and Jericho goes to the floor! REY FLIES! La Silla to the floor but it looked like he fucked his knee. Clearly not as he's up and kickg away at the legs of Jericho, then comes HIGH off the top with a springboard crossbody for 2. Headscissors by Rey and a triple-jump moonsault!!! Holy hell! 2 count only. Whip by Rey but he drops his head, Jericho kicks him in it and whips him, Rey tries a quebrada press but Jericho catches him...POWERSLAM! 1...2...2.8022! Jericho slows the pace down with some measured shots. Whip to the corner, Jericho charges and gets ringpost. MOONSAULT PRESS gets 2 for Rey. Rey tries the rana again, Jericho holds on and counters to the Walls! Middle of the ring, nowhere to go! The crowd is MOLTEN for this. Rey crawls to the ropes and gets there with the help of some shots to the thigh of Jericho. Jericho charges and Rey moves AGAIN, but Jericho holds on! Dropkick by Rey and Jericho is in position for a reverse 619...Jericho moves! BOOM Jericho levels him with a clothesline from the apron. Jericho goes up top, Rey meets him and stops that idea. Rey goes up with him and tries a rana...SUPER POWERBOMB COUNTER! FEET ON THE ROPES! 1...2...2.90006!!! Lionsault attempt MISSES! Rana! 1...2...NO!!! Winner: Rey Misterio via pinfall (619/splash combo)

Jericho remonstrates with Long. He wants his rematch tonight! Long says "EH EH!" Apparently he's 1 months away from 5 years as GM. And he didn't get there by giving in to everyone, so GET TO STEPPIN'!

* NO DQ Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. The Great Khali

Somewhere Small is looking for the strawberry personal lubricant.

Ziggler dodges twice and hits a leg kick, but gets caught the thrid time. Whip and a HUGE chop by Khali. Whip to the corner, Ziggler comes out with a basement dropkick and tries to mount Khali in the corner. Khali tires of his insolence and shrugs him off the top to the floor. Short arm clothesline on the floor, and another big chop. Khali measure another but only gets the post! Ziggler with a HUGE dropkick off the apron! He goes for it again but Khali cuts him off with another chop. Ouch. Ziggler has looked good so far. Khali misses a boot in the corner and gets his leg caught on the top rope! Ziggler snaps it over the top and gets a chair! Shot to the knee! He goes for one to the head but Khali blocks, so Ziggler hits a chop block and a Fameasser! 1...no. Emphatically no as Khali tosses Ziggler over the ref's back. Front facelock by Ziggler now, Khali gets to his feet, lifts Ziggler and throws him off. Boot to the facer by Khali and he measure Ziggler...KANE! Why is he here and who told them we wanted that feud again? Ziggler with several chair shots to the knees of Khali, and Kane is in the ring! WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! He wears out Khali! Kane leaves the ring and Ziggler gets the pin!

Winner: Dolph Ziggler via pinfall (Kane flurry of chairshots.)

McMahon says that Long has done nothing in his almost 5 years. He's so boring that if he was in a foxhole with McMahon, Vince would shoot himself. Lovely.

* Unified Tag Team Title Match: Carlito and Primo Colon © vs. Legacy

A tag title match on PPV? Pinch me. I still wish the Colons would wear at least one of the belts properly. It's the old-school in me, show some respect to the belts dammit. DiBiase and Rhodes have new music, AGAIN. At least it sucks less. TEDDY LONG is out to make it a triple threat! With who though?

YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME! EDGE!!!!!

BREAK THE WALLS DOWN! JERICHO!!!!!!!!

Holy cow. Legacy and the Colons take the two interlopers to the floor early and the bell rings.

Carlito and Ted to start. Carlito with shots, a whip is reversed and Carlito jumps over a charging Ted and hits a big clothesline. Tag to Primo, Carltio hits a drop toehold and Primo with the headbutt for 2. Jawbreaker by Ted, Jericho tags himself in and gets a backdrop from Primo. Rhodes tags himself in and gets a facelock, then tags in Ted. Primo fights back and gets a leg drop for 2. tag to Carlito who gets a dropkick for 2. Sleeper applied by Carlito. Ted gets to his feet and Primo tags himself in, his hiptoss is blocked and turned into a nice takedown by Ted followed by a kick to the head. Tag to Cody who gets a series of stomps and shots. Ted back in with more kicks and EVIL HEEL tactics. Rhodes back in, they whip Primo chest-first to the turnbuckle. Cody with a snap mare and a stretch hold. Primo fights out and Edge tags himself in but misses a spear! DiBiase tags himself in again! Suplex by Ted and a series of elbows gets 2. Primo escapes a scoop slam with a schoolboy for 2. Rhodes back in with a nice dropkick and gets a one count. Jackknife gets another 1 count. Neck vise by Rhodes, Primo rolls him up and gets 2! Clothesline by Rhodes takes Primo down again for 2 more. Edge and Jericho are being shut out of the match, but the fans seem behind them. Cody with a Gory Special!!!! No, seriously! Edge comes in to break the hold. Primo kicks Rhodes off but Cody tags in Ted who cuts Primo off. Whip by DiBiase, he drops his head and Primo kicks him then tosses him out. Primo is alone in the ring and HOT TAG!!! Senton into the ring on Rhodes! Kneelift and clothesline for Rhodes! Sprinboard back elbow gets 2! That was really sloppy. DiBiase breaks the pin, Primo takes him out with a clothesline. JERICHO hits the Codebreaker on Primo! Carlito throws him to the floor and then runs over and levels Edge! Rhodes charges but his shoulder hits the cornerpost! He also caught Edge's hand, I bet that counts as a tag...Yup, ref is signalling tag but Carlito misses it. BACKSTABBER by Carlito, but Rhodes is not legal! SPEAR! 1...2...3!!!

Winners: Edge and Chris Jericho via pinfall (Edge on Carlito, Spear)

Orton doesn't care that Legacy lost. Teddy is pissed and says he doesn't care about them, and Orton seems nonplussed. DiBiase walks off, and we see the first signs of cracking in the Legacy facade.

* WWE Women's Title Match: Melina © vs. Michelle McCool

Grisham points out that Melina has held the belt for 5 months. And she has defended it how many times in that 5 months? Mrs Taker is out with Alicia Fox who won't figure in the decision at ALL, I'm sure.

Michelle with knees early, she tries a whip but Melina catches her with a back elbow. Melina with shots but Michelle catches her coming off the ropes and has her up for a choke bomb...DDT counter by Melina, and she rolls through to full mount! McCOol throws her off but Melina comes back with heavy forearms and a back body drop and a seated clothesline for 2. Melina ties McCool in the ropes, the ref breaks it and Michelle hits a dropkick to the knee. She goes to work on the leg now and gets half mount for some shots for a one count. Back to work on the leg now. She wraps the leg in the ropes for added leverage then slams it off the ring steps. McCool wedges Melina's leg between the steps and the ring, then kicks the steps. OUCH. 2 count for McCool. Gutbuster, she holds Melina over her knee then BENDS MELINA SO HER FOOT TOUCHES HER HEAD! Ow. She tries a facewash but Melina moves and sets McCool in the corner, but McCool counters and hits a chop block. Melina fights back with a kick to the head out of a headscissors, she tries it again but McCool counters into a Faithbreaker...no! Rana by Melina! Kick by Melina hurts her own leg but gets a 2 anyway. McCool gets a kick of her own to come back but gets 2 only. She drives Melina to the corner and puts her on top and tries for a superplex...Melina pushes her off and hits a top rope facebuster for 2 before Fox puts McCool's foot on the rope. MELINA with the kick between the ropes to Fox! She sets for the flip bomb but McCool counters and hits a SICK kick to the head! 1...2...NO! Faithbreaker connects! 1...2...3!

Winner: Michelle McCool via pinfall (Faithbreaker)

* World Title Match: CM Punk © vs. Jeff Hardy

Champ is out first to a Cena-like reaction. Good job of showing pro- and anti-Punk signs in the crowd. Hardy of course gets the screams.

Lockup, clean break from Punk in the corner. Headlock by Hardy, Punk reverses it. Shoulderblock by Punk takes Hardy down. Waistlock by Punk, Hardy reverses, Punk gets a hammerlock, Hardy grabs a headlock and takedown. We're going this route? OK, we'll see. Hardy holds on to the headlock and tries to get a Hardy chant going...not so successful. Punk snatches out and gets a takedown of his own, another shoulderblock by Punk. He blocks a hip toss and tries for the GTS! Reversed into a crucifix for 2 by Hardy. Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate, Punk pushes him off but gets backdropped to the outside! HARDY FLIES with a slingshot crossbody to the outside. He takes Punk to the barricade and tries for Poetry in Motion off the steps...Punk moves! Punk rolls back inside but interrupts the countout. Hardy is in at 9 and Punk gets a quick 2 count. Kicks to the spine by Punk and a figure four necklock by Punk. He hits some elbows to the top of Hardy's head then breaks the hold to get 2. Backbreaker by Punk gets 2 more. This is possibly the best match I've seen Punk work in WWE. Another figure four necklock by Punk. Hardy breaks the hold and Punk scoops, slams and goes to the second rope...MISSES a leg drop! That landing looked bad. Punk charges in the corner and catches nothing but turnbuckle! WHISPER IN THE WIND! 1...2...no! Clothesline by Hardy, a series of them now, then an inverted atomic followed by the double leg drop to the groin for 2. Gourdbuster by Hardy, he goes up top and are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Sure Brain, but what if the rhinoceros won't wear the Speedos?

No Pinky. Swanton time! Punk is thinking it apparently, as he rolls outside. CLOTHESLINE TO THE OUTSIDE by Hardy! He rolls Punk back inside and dropkicks him into the corner, seated. Corner mule kick COUNTERED into GTS position! Hardy holds the ropes so Punk puts him down. HEAD KICK! Kigh knee/bulldog combo! 1...2...no! Series of strikes by Punk, Hardy ducks one and hits the Twist of Fate out of nowhere! Almost RKO-like! No, actually EXACTLY RKO-like. SWANTON TIME!!! MISSES!!! Punk wants the GTS, inside cradle! 1...2...2.774! Punk back up with a huge kick! GTS countered again! Twist of Fate!!! SWANTON!!! Hardy can't cover! He gets there! 1...2...3???

Winner: Jeff Har...huh? The ref is saying no! Punk's foot was under the rope before the 3 count, and the ref made the right call as per the replay. It was intentional on Punk's part too. Hardy is arguing with the ref while Punk recovers. Twist of Fate countered! GTS!!! Hardy elbows his way out and Punk is holding his eye. The ref checks on Punk and I smell a possum. PUNK KICKS THE REF!!!! Helloooooo heel turn. Hardy is shocked but Punk looks confused. "Bullshit!" - Sacramento. Yes indeed.

Winner: Jeff Hardy via DQ (Punk kicked the ref...by accident?)

Hardy accuses Punk of doing it on purpose, Punk denies it. Hardy ain't buying it and attacks him on the ramp! He chases him to the ring and beats holy hell out of him, attacking the injured eye. This of course makes the fans love Hardy.

The Colons are in with Long, who says he did it to save his own job. He stands by his decision and he's done talking. GET TO STEPPIN'!

* John Cena vs. The Miz

Really looking forward to this, if only because I think there's a chance Cena jobs. Tremendous, there's a sign in the front row saying "PLEASE! No more Cena vs Big Show!" Amen, my brother. VERY pro-Cena crowd. Awww man, the John Deere merch is here to stay.

Cena looks very relaxed and is smirking. Quick takedown by Cena and he goes to the leg. They lock up again, back leg trip by Cena. Miz charges but Cena grabs an arm bar, takes Miz down and stamps the arm. He dodges another charge and grabs a headlock takedown. WE NEED MORE OF THIS FROM CENA! Shoulderblock by Cena, he avoids a leapfrog and takes Miz down with a headlock. Miz gets the rops and then gets a headlock of his own, the run the ropes and Cena gets a hiptoss. Cena drops his head and gets kicked...and no sells it. Miz flees. Cena gives chase but gets caught coming in, he scoops up Miz who escapes out the back and on to the apron where he snaps Cena's neck backwards over the rope. Miz in control with shots in the corner and he hits the charging clothesline in the corner. Miz up top...double axehandle to the back of the head gets 2. Kick to the head of Cena and a nice suplex gets 2 more. Chest-first whip by Miz and a clothesline gets 2. Miz with the low dropkick sending Cena to the outside. He rolls Cena back in and gets 2 more. Good start. Cena fights back and gets the flying shoulder and the blue thunder bomb. YOU CANNOT VISUALLY PERCEIVE HIS PERSONNAGE! 5 phlanges in full physiog! Attitude Adjustment, and now the STF! Oh fuck you Cena. Miz taps.

Winner: Super Cena via submission (STF)

Needed more...

KRYPTO-NATE!

* WWE Title Three Stages of Hell Match: Randy Orton © vs. HHH
(The 1st Fall is a Regular Match, The 2nd Fall is Falls Count Anywhere Match, If Needed, the 3rd Fall is a Stretcher Match.)

Champ is out first, alone. HHH has his leg wrapped. Cole points out that HHH was in both of the other two 3 Stages of Hell matches, and he is undefeated. We got about half an hour to go.

Trading shots to start, Orton gets a shoulderblock takedown but HHH comes back with a high knee. Whip reversed but HHH comes out of the corenr with a clothesline. Shots in the corner by HHH until the ref breaks it. Whip, HHH charges into the boot of Orton who tries to take HHH's leg to the post, but HHH blocks and drags Orton's head to the post. Orton gets suplexed back in and HHH gets a 2. Another whip, HHH drops his head and gets kicked but HHH gets a kick of his own...PEDIGREE countered as Orton goes to the leg. He takes the leg to the apron and now to the ring post. HHH tries to fight back but Orton goes back to the leg. He drops a knee on the leg and tries for the RKO but HHH pushes him off and gets the spinebuster, barely. HHH sells the leg and gets caught by Orton in the chinlock backbreaker. Orton tells the ref to count as HHH is outside. He tries to come back in but Orton kicks him down. HHH has a chair! He nails Orton with it and the ref DQs him!

Winner of fall one: Randy Orton via DQ (chair shot)
Orton up 1-0.

LAME. Brock Lesnar did that in an iron man match with Angle a few years ago. HHH continues to wear out Orton with the chair as it is now legal. To the back of the head!!! Orton has been decimated! Orton rolls to the outside, HHH goes for the Pedigree on the floor! Hits it! 1...2...3!

Winner of fall two: HHH via pinfall (Pedigree on the outside)
Tied 1-1

HHH gets the stretcher while the crew lays out the tape. Orton is out, HHH has the stretcher up the ramp but Orton was playing possum! He gets off and kicks the stretcher into HHH's leg, then gets a chop block on the ramp! The stretcher almost runs into HHH's head too. Oops. Orton CROTCHES HHH on the barricade! That'll turn you soprano. HHH is in the crowd now, and here comes the crowd brawl. Oh yay. Orton takes him to a barricade. HHH fights back as they head back towards the ring...HHH clotheslines Orton back over the barricade! Selective selling, go! HHH is in control, Orton rips the padding off the barricade and whips a charging HHH into it. Then he hits HHH...with the padding? Oooo k. Orton back suplexes HHH onto the bare barricade! Damn! Orton has the stretcher now, HHH is on it but fights back up. Orton with a kick and a whip into the steps. HHH is back in the ring, Orton has the steps and throws them in the ring. This won't end well for Orton. Nope, drop toehold and Orton goes face first into the steps. HHH has the steps...WHAM into the face of Orton. Remember when HHH could barely stand? Oh yeah, that was 5 minutes ago. HHH drags Orton onto the stretcher and takes him up the ramp againbut Orton revives halfway up and kicks HHH off. HHH climbs on the stretcher and they go for a ride! STRETCHER CRASH! Orton is holding his back as HHH tries to get him on the stretcher, but Orton fights back and slams HHH into the stretcher head first! He uses the stretcher to elevate the legs of HHH...DDT ON THE RAMP!!! Orton measures HHH for the punt...he missed! He kicked the stretcher and he looks hurt! Pedigree!!! NO! Orton backdrops HHH on to the stretcher! Orton starts the push up the ramp and HHH is not moving. He falls off at the top of the ramp but Orton pounces on him with right hands. Orton sets in the viper pose, RKO countered! HHH pushes him off into the set and sets for the Pedigree...CONNECTS on the stage! HHH goes after the stretcher and tries to lift Orton's dead weigght. They're at the top of the ramp, HHH has a foot to go...RHODES! Rhodes blocks the stretcher and attacks HHH! Rhodes soon loses control and gets taken into the set, but now DiBiase blocks the stretcher!!! Both members of Legacy are beating on HHH! They try to get him on the stretcher, he fights back briefly but gets beaten down some more. HBK maybe? Orton is still out by the way. WHERE DID HE GET THAT FROM! HHH has Sledgie and levels Legacy before Orton punts him in the nuts! Orton creams HHH with part of the stage and HHH lands on the stretcher! Orton pulls him across!!!

Winner: Randy Orton via crossing the line (not to TNA)

HHH is behind a celebrating Orton with the hammer! Orton doesn't see him...now he does! TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD! HHH poses with Sledgie over a downed Orton and decides to start limping again. Both of Legacy are STILL down. What the hell was in that hammer?

Good night folks! Don't forget to give us your thumbs up or down in the comments!

Cena buried Miz, thus meaning im glad i didnt waste my money on this trash. If Miz won, i would have bought the replay but thats not happening now. Screw WWE for buring their only rising star on Raw.

Epic Fail. Glad I watched this on a live stream and didn't pay for it - garbage booking.

Wheres the ratings??

"LAME. Brock Lesnar did that in an iron man match with Angle a few years ago."

Triple H also did it himself against The Rock in an Iron Man Match nine years ago.

---

Edge and Chris Jericho vs. Triple H and John Cena for the Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions. Just the names on paper show how much more superior SD is to RAW.

Jericho Edge...the beginning of Edge's face turn.

Jobbing out MIZ was lame.

FUCK HHH.

We can't get just one clean win for Orton in this whole feud. It's been like 27 months long, and HHH still comes out on top.

Good coverage Mr. Lansdell.

the wrestling sounds fantastic tonight!

I loved the way that Miz and Cena were booked just to see all the smarks throw a fit. In all honesty, Miz is a very talented performer, but he isn't in Cena's league at this moment and this match was done just to show that. He does have a great future. I say they need to have him go against Kofi. THAT would be the shit.

EDGE AND JERICHO FOR THE WIN

FUCK THE REST

Posted By: marc (Guest)  on June 28, 2009 at 11:18 PM

Well, the PPV started off OK with the ECW scramble and particularly the 4 star IC match.
Besides the title matches, the rest of the card was filler stuff that gave off a distinct 'free tv' vibe.
The Smackdown title match was OK, nothing actively bad but the pacing felt kind of off, hard to tell why it didn't feel right. Finish was OK, but Hardy really needed to be stood closer to the ref for it to have more of the element of doubt to it, as that seemed to be what they were shooting for.
HHH v Orton felt really rushed due to the lack of time left, and it was the same old screwy shit finish as per usual. Let's put it this way, the Last Man Standing match from Raw was far better and had the better finish. So, as always Orton looks a pussy as he really didn't get a single fall cleanly in a 3 fall match, really stupid.
6 out of 10 for me, and most of that is Jericho vs Mysterio.
Oh, and Miz should have won via flukey roll-up, Cena could have taken the loss and the Miz would have gained a lot of momentum, but never mind....too much to ask. Wheres Morisson, MVP, Benjamin, Kingston etc? Pity.

Thumbs up only because of Jericho/Mysterio!

Apparently, John Cena has taken over HHH's job as the official burial director of up-and-coming talent. What on Earth does that squash do to advance the story line?

And HHH STILL cannot lose cleanly. He always has to get the last word in. Orton wins, yet Legacy looks weaker every day. Worst of all, there is no apparent end to this terrible feud that keeps sucking up my TV time. Please, God, just let it end.

Rest of the PPV was very entertaining, but the 2 "main events" left a very sour taste in my mouth.

punk retaining = thumbs up
orton retaining = thumbs up

rest of show = thumbs down, except maybe rey keeping his mask, he's one ugly sob

Outside of Jericho Vs Mysterio match this was a pretty bad ppv. Miz got made to look like a bitch and totally buried. HHH lost one fall by destroying Orton and then after he got the win he got destroyed again. Geez. Punk and Hardy didn't click at all imo.

actually if you want to get technical lesner stole it from HHH. Triple H clocked the Rock for a DQ and a quick pin in their Iron Man match YEARS before Lesner ever did it. If you're going to whine about unoriginality then at least state the first time it occured

I was really into the PPV until the Miz/Cena match, which I was actually really looking forward to. Cena came off, IMO, as a complete asshole and they just berried The Miz. I felt going into this match that after Cena's promo on Raw, Miz really needed to lose. And if he lost, he needed to look competitive, which he didn't. I like Cena and I've never really understood the hate, but the way he came off tonight really pissed me off.
Then in the main event, HHH and Orton again underperformed, IMO. I thought the booking of the match was bad and the action was kind of boring.

Like I said, I really liked everything up until the last two matches, but they really left a bad taste in my mouth.

regarding the Lesnar intentional DQ reference, Lesnar learned that move from HHH, who did it at Judgement Day 2000 against the Rock.

regardless, this PPV while not spectacular, did a lot to build feuds on Smackdown. Punk going heel, Teddy Long becoming a corrupt GM, and the dream team of Edge/Y2J.

RAW however, remains dead in the water. Here's hoping for a HHH injury.

I think you have to give Edge and Jericho a long run with the titles and then have Jericho win one of the heavyweight titles and let Edge start his babyface turn. It makes a lot of sense. They are by far the two best performers in the company right now. Orton has had his chance. HHH is stale. Taker and HBK are not regular performers. Batista tears a muscle walking into the arena. Hardy is one strike away from being gone forever. If I was WWE I would put more time into Edge and Jericho and to a lesser extent Punk in that main event scene because they are reliable. Then you build Morrison and MVP in the midcard to compete next year.

So, what was the point of Cena having a match on a PPV if only to bury Miz? I'd pay to see Miz beat Super Cena. But, not see him made to look like nothing more than a chump against Super Cena.

Dreamer wins Scramble to retain ECW TITLE was *** (fun match and an unexpected winner)

Rey Mysterio d. Jericho to win IC Title and keep mask ****3/4 (Mysterio has really gotten more interesting in this feud and great counters and I love how he had two masks and that was what distracted Y2J, btw pw torch rated this ****1/2)

Dolph Ziggler d. Khali with Kane’s help was **1/4 (OK?)

Edge and Jericho d. Carlito and Primo, Rhodes and Dibiase to win the TAG TITLES was **1/4 (well I guess they couldn’t find anything else for Edge and 13 times wow!)

Michelle McCool d. Melina to win WOMENS TITLE was *3/4

Jeff Hardy d. CM Punk via DQ so Punk retains WORLD TITLE was ***3/4 (More storyline and character advancement, we need a better finish for the Night Of Champs, and the crowd really bought the finish)

John Cena d. The Miz was ** (standard formula)

Whether or not the PPV is 8/10 or best ppv of the year is how the 3 stages of hell match goes if its ** PPV 7.9/10, if its *** it is 8.3/10 if its **** or more than it is the PPV of the year and 8.8/10

Orton d. HHH to retain WWE TITLE in a three stages hell match was ***1/2 (Good brutal match and of course HHH has to send the fans home happy but Orton becomes the only man to beat HHH in this match)

PPV Rating 8.5 out of 10

This PPV wasn't bad, but I def see a trend of stellar first halves and then a slow decline in the second act. Maybe it's just because they unloaded the ECW and Smackdown matches first.

AWESOME: Edge and Jericho bringing some flair back to the tag division

ZIGGLER! But wtf Kane? lol

CM Punk's still ambigious, but effective heel turn.

Jericho vs. Mysterio solid as usual.

Ehhh: Triple H vs. Orton needs to stop after this match...

Miz should have won, but at least it wasn't a complete squash

Melina again...did not have a wardrobe malfunction. This travesty needs to stop.

All and all, not bad, not bad. I felt entertained, but not blown away by any means.

"LAME. Brock Lesnar did that in an iron man match with Angle a few years ago."

Fun Fact: Triple H used this same strategy in his Iron Man match with The Rock nine years ago.

Not so Fun Fact: Nine years on and Triple H is been main eventing pretty much solid that whole time.

Look whether you like Miz or not, that match personifies what is wrong with Raw. No-one can get anything over on the top stars. So how is someone supposed to be elevated? By geeting a grand total of THREE moves in? Smackdown can do this. The Smackdown crew can also make someone look good in a losing effort. Why can no-one on Raw understand this?

Smackdown delivered and Raw was same old-same old. So the WWE is doing a good job of representing their TV shows on PPV anyway.

Very nice PPV, yes we would have all liked The Miz to win, but in the 'real world', that was not going to happen with Night of Champion being next month. Every match is for a title, thus there will be no room for 'non title matches', meaning everybody had to be going for a title. If Miz won, there was no way he was gonig for the WWE Title, and going for any title less would have made his victory over Cena meaningless. Cena wins, it gives The Miz a little spotlight, and it pushes Cena to be in a major program for next month (probably multi-man match with HHH/Orton). Whereas if Cena lost, there would be no sense for him to even be in a match next PPV, which we all know isn't going to happen, as Cena isn't going to just skip a PPV show.

I went with my roommate to a local restaurant to watch the Bash, and the entire place when Cena beat Miz. And not just beat, but it sucks that Miz had to get B-E-R-R-I-E-D like that. I thought WWE might have Miz go over just because of how cocky Cena was, but nope. Why elevate new stars under an Old Dog gets injured. Then the wiping of feet in Mizs face just sucked. But oh well.
And yay for Triple H ending the show...as usual.
Am I the only one that was praying for Edges Tag Partner to be Christian the moment Edges music hit? That would've made the PPV worth it right there. But alas, $20 got me food and a free PPV.

The teaming of Jericho and Edge does makes some sense, as it adds a little bit more dynamic to the tag team straps. In case everyone forgot, the unified tag team champions can appear on both shows, and can defend the gold against all comers from each brand. They are two of the biggest names in the industry so why not find a 'logical' loophole to get them on every show? Nobosy cares when the Colons show up on each show. The Priceless team was unproven, but I doubt they would make much of an impact. Jericho and Edge can now do their thing and mix it up in a perfectly acceptable storyline without every memeber of the IWC saying 'What brand extension' because that doesn't hold true to whoever is holding the tag straps. Plus, on top of all those postives-just think of when the two Canadians finally defend the gold against the Hart Trilogy?

This was an ok ppv at best but yes I had a problem with a couple of things. 1. Why build the Miz up only to bury him against Cena? In my "humble" opinion, the wrong person won this match. 2. Is it me or is Jeff Hardly coming across as the spoiled whiny one in this feud with CM Punk? Finally you all say enough of Cena vs Big Show? Well how about enough of Triple H vs Randy Orton which by the way has run for 5 years now folks? As usual nothing new, same old stale storylines year after year. I say make Triple H vs Randy Orton in a Kill each other off to finally end this feud permanently match. That way it's done finished OVER!

Cena jobbing out the Miz is everything that is wrong with "Raw". They refuse to elevate new stars into the main event scene. Instead we will have another year of Triple H, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Batista rotating in the PPV Main event scene

I think I'm wrong, but what the heck. Triple H has only been pinned ONCE by Orton (Backlash six-man tag) during the whole freakin feud, right? What's up with that? Triple H seems hesitant to put over Orton in a PROPER 1-on-1 match.

"LAME. Brock Lesnar did that in an iron man match with Angle a few years ago."

Triple H also did it himself against The Rock in an Iron Man Match nine years ago.

Posted By: Ron Mexico (Guest) on June 28, 2009 at 11:11 PM

Rick Rude did it against Steamboat too at Beach Blast 92. I think this is the first time its been done in this type of match, but it worked A LOT better in the Iron Man matches than it did in this match.

If the WWE only had smarks as fans they would be bankrupt. All they do is complain even though the PPV was good. PW Torch has alot better writers than these smarks, and Lansdell where are the ratings. Y2J/REY=MOTYC but wont win becuz of HBK-Taker

ppv got off to a really good start with the scramble match and jericho and rey tore the house down, then....it just started to decrease little by little. The tag match was somewhat ok, hardy/punk picked up but the finish was long and drawn out and didn't come off good to me, although they did accomplish turning punk. Cena/Miz was short and to the point albeit the miz never had a believable chance to win. HHH/Orton had a good brawl on raw but this match just wasn't good. I was hoping that this feud was over until hhh clobbered orton with the sledgehammer. Overall SD carries another ppv with ecw making the most of their one match.

I did the math, and if the orton/hhh feud lasts just 2weeks more it will be official the longest running feud in history. beating the carlos colon/abdullah the butcher feud.

Miz looked great.the weeks of giving him a lot of air time payed off huge tonight.

kane/kahli Im a little disappointed in this. I was hoping they were saving this for wrestlemania, but i cant blame them for giving the fans what they want.

orton/hhh brought it once again, and tore the roof off. I loved the stips in this match really helped a lot.

Great ppv 4 1/2 stars, i would have givin it 5, but mark henry didnt win, and thats a crock of shit.
It was so good, im sending vince 40 bucks, since i watched it online. Or maybe trump, who the fuck knows.

I see why they changed the ppv to "the bash" other than " The Great American Bash". Although it was very american.

You people treating Cena like HHH do realize that he has absolutely nothing to do with anything that goes on with his matches? He goes out and beats who's he's told to beat and loses who he's told to lose to without blinking an eye. If Vince thought Cena laying down for the Brawler in 5 seconds would advance a storyline, Cena would do it in an instant. He's a company man and has no influence on the book whatsoever.

Another example of the IWC NEEDING something to bitch about.

Cena lost to Brock when they 1st gave him a chance. As long as Miz doesn't totally disappear I'll accept this loss. (Hell HBK jobbed to Bret Hart 1 million times over the IC title WAY back when)

Jericho vs Mysterio is GOLD.
Hardy vs Punk...perfect storytelling.
Dreamer retaining..ehh ok
Ziggler winning is great!
Khali vs Kane means nice long bathroom break in the near future
EDGE and JERICHO winning Tag Titles AWESOME!

EDGE RULES!!

as for cena/miz, I'm not throwing a fit that cena won, it's just that I never got that "boy miz might just pull this one off" feel from this match. He got in little offense than that was it. Although, as said before I wouldn't have been opposed to a miz lucky roll-up victory.

Shittiest PPV Of THE YEAR and when I say SHITTIEST I say from EVERY SINGLE FEDERATION (yeah I m watching a lot of feds and wrestling).

It's like Vince wanted to outperform Vince Russo and TNA Booking Team on this unique PPV and man, did he succeed beyond reality.

Mysterio vs Jericho was the only good match with the only good booking of the night from start to finish.

Edge/Jericho Tag Champs ? Who are they gonna feud with Now ? Cryme Time ? Yo Yo Yo !

Ziggler Could NOT Win without Kane's help against Khali ? (btw Kane vs Khali ? Again ?)

At least the good news here is that Mysterio vs Ziggler US Title Feud looks ready to start next friday on SD !

As for the rest...SHIT SHIT and Yes SHIT.

I won't talk about SD ! women title match, Mrs Taker won , fine for her and nobody gives a damn about it anyway.

But wait , how can you rate JEFF HARDY vs CM PUNK RIGHT here ?

Not only was the match pretty average and bland (again I do realize how great EDGE is when he is feuding with anyone and those two) but the ENDING was PURE TNA RUSSO RIFFIC BULLSHIT : So Punk could NOT put his FOOT on the rope but UNDER ?

And then he is faking something in the eye to KICK The Ref who is DQ'ing him ?

How LAME WAS THIS ?

Punk came out of this as a total paper champ and Jeff like the new Bret Hart MONTREAL SCREW JOB STYLE...

Cena vs Miz, when you look at it (Edge/Mysterio and Ziggler winning and to an extent Punk retaining) The Miz had NO CHANCE in HELL to win this one...
After getting BERRIED on the MIC last MONDAY , he got BERRIED IN THE RING , this time, SUPERMAN STYLE.

as for HHH vs RKO, I was wise enough to no watch this super massive piece of shit , cause you know what ? I've seen enough of it .

Again HHH has shown the world RKO is his official whore and he will NEVER EVER allow The former Legend Killer to get a CLEAN F'N LOSS to him , be it as a FACE or a HEEL....

In the end, Ziggler looks like the only "new" guy made out of this PPV and the rest was an accumulation of stupid booking decisons which lead to the WORST PRO WRESTLING PPV of the YEAR , BAR NONE.

Night Of Champions will have zero difficulty getting better than this giant piece of scum, but who knows with Vince ?

Current list of real fresh talents totally BERRIED by the E :

1/ The Miz - RAW
2/ Mattitude Hardy - RAW
3/ Christian - ECW
4/ MVP - RAW

It's a miracle Dolphinite Ziggler managed to get a pinfall win on Khali on a PPV when you think about it.

How anybody can be a fucking Miz mark is beyond me. The guy's a fucking chipmunk looking fanboy wannabe. He's good in his role as a cocky punk, but he SUCKS in the ring. Just like Cena.

Talk about his work ethic, his connection with little kids, his passion all you want. He SUCKS in the ring. I've never seen him execute even ONE move perfectly. Everything Cena does looks sloppy and awkward. I know not everyone can be Kurt Angle, HBK, Bret Hart, or Eddie Guerrero, but people like Cena, Batista, Miz, MVP, and Kennedy all fucking suck.

The Miz is one of the worst though. Anybody who honestly marks out for Miz doesn't belong watching wrestling. I'll get shit for this, but you know what? I don't care. Especially about Miz marks.

Listen, "voices of reason", it's not that The Miz lost, it's that Cena absolute crushed him. He got THREE moves altogether in the match for goodness sake.

And Scott, it's not so much love for The Miz, it's that people want someone, anyone, who can break up the dominance of the HHH/Orton/Cena dominated main event scene on Raw. I've seen people championing Big Show because they are so sick of ther other guys.

I just hate HHH so much, he always makes Orton his bitch even in defeat.

It would do wonders if Orton could actually beat him cleanish and maintain some kind of badass attitude.

I think Miz v Cena was pathetic... Miz should of been able to bring something to the table and made to look strong and then lose... but no it was a pure burial.

Jericho our lord and saviour saved the show... great match with Rey then best surprise of the night EDGE/Y2J tag champs.. this is only a win win situation becuase it is obvious now this will lead to the potentially epic Edge/Jericho feud and face turn for the Rate R one.

Dreamer retaining the ECW title: Good match, altough I was cheering for Finlay. A tweener champion would be AWESOME. But I'm also a Dreamer fan and everytime I hear "ECW" chants, I have goosebumps in a very good way - even I'm a fan of PW only since 2003.

Rey new IC Champ and his mask safe: MOTY Contender. But will not win thanks to HBK-Taker, who alongside Steamboat saved Wrestlemania Silver. Jericho's face at the end was PRICELESS.

Ziggler beats Khali: Expected. But Kane is back! YAY! But he will probably feud against Khali. As much as I like both... DOH!

Rated-Y2J as new Undisputed Tag Champs: REEKS OF AWESOMENESS! This probably solidified Teddy Long's heel turn, and could be the beginning of Edge's LOOOOOONG overdue face turn.

Until there the PPV was very good. But then...

McSlut as Women's Champion: EPIC FAIL. Not even Vince freakin' Russo would make a travesty like this. This is sad day, and the fact of Melina being SQUASHED (just like Natalya last year), alongside McBully and his non-stop monster push in the works since early '06 by sleeping with main-eventers, makes this biggest blow Pro-Wrestling has ever taken.

Yeah. You heard me right. Not the WWE Divas. Not the Women's Wrestling in general.

The ENTIRE WORLD OF PRO-WRESTLING.

And one thing is for sure: the number of TNA and UFC fans will skyrocket to the moon after this spit in the face of all fans - diehards, casuals and even the kids. Nobody - and I mean NOBODY - cares for the MOST OVERRATED women wrestler wannabe of all time.

My only hope now is Gail Kim becoming a 2-time Women's Champion as soon as Night of Champions. But I prefer to see her winning at Summerslam (2nd biggest PPV of the year) or Breaking Point (Making McBubba, McBob Holly, or whatever you wanna call her, tap in the new Submission-themed PPV).

But, honestly, for me there is only one REAL Dual Champion in Female American Wrestling, and that is former TNA Knockouts Champion and soon-to-be 2-time WWE Women's Champion Gail Kim - altough Victoria/Tara is closer to become the second REAL Dual Champion.

Well, back to The former great american Bash (Why not bring back King of the Ring?)...

Punk retains after being DQ: Great match and HEEL TURN! Hopefully he will pull the line that made him one of the most hated heels in RoH history: "I'm straight-edge and this means that I'm better than you".
But who will be his next opponent?

Hidden Highlight: My props for the guy with the Green and White "Misawa" sign. Epic and Classy. Misawa-sensei literally gave his life for Pro-Wrestling, and will always live on the hearts of the real PW fans.

Miz squashed by SuperCena: I'll pass this one. Miz is not ready for a ME...yet.

RKO retains: Good match, but HHH needs to lose a 1-1 title match CLEANLY - but I'm still a HHH fan.

I don't think it's that people like Miz necessarily, it's just that we want to see someone different on Raw.

I get excited when Miz is calling out Cena or when MVP is standing up to MVP... but then both get quickly buried. Raw sucks, at least Jericho and Edge can be on the show now.

Posted By: Ravenite (Guest) on June 29, 2009 at 12:59 AM

Very well said. Back in 2003 when Cena was still unproven he had a WWE title match against Lesnar at Backlash and a singles match against 'Taker at Vengeance. He lost both matches. That was fine because at least he got a lot of offense in. He even had both guys on the ropes for a while. On the flipside, tonight it looked like Miz got lucky during the rare times he had any offense at all. In those past matches Cena looked just a step below Lesnar and 'Taker. In this match Miz looked completely and utterly out of his depth.

I'm not a big Miz fan at all. But having anyone who can halfway decently work break up the typical RAW main event is an absolutely breath of fresh air. Be it Miz, Matt Hardy, MVP, Kofi, etc. whomever I'll be happy.

What about Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit from Judgment Day 2001?

Posted By: Guest#2466 (Guest) on June 29, 2009 at 01:34 AM

Yeah, when I watched RAW last week and they said this would be only the third match of that type in history Benoit/Angle immediately popped to mind. But at the time, it was never officially labelled a 3 stages of hell match. I believe the thought process was that each of the three matches needed a stipulation to qualify as 3 stages of hell. Being that the first fall was a straight up singles match it didn't count. But now that this one counted they should retroactively classify that as 3 stages of hell. Of course, it involved a dead guy who murdered his family and a guy who works for the competition so I don't think the WWE will be jumping to change the record books.

Orton MIGHT get ahead if everyone didn't hate him so much. He's a complete douchebag in REAL LIFE. Nobody likes the prick, and it's a testament to his in-ring skills that he's gotten as far as he has. He's a fuckin Marine Corps deserter with a dishonorable discharge. He's a piece of shit in real life. His 'character' on WWE is who he really is.

Waaaaa! The Miz got crushed by John Cena! He buried him! Just like Hulk Hogan buried Paul Roma on Pay Per View! Huh? Hulk would never wrestle Roma on pay per view? Oh, my fault. What? The Miz is bigger now than he's ever been in his life? Well ignoring all that it still sucks for Miz!!!!

Seriously, Jericho is the best thing going right now. If WM 26 isn't main evented with Jericho v. Edge, Ima goin' be pissed!

Orton kind of sucks too. Even if he beat HHH cleanly, it wouldn't help all that much because Orton really shouldn't even have a job. All he has is his finisher, that's why people call him RKO in the first place, he's nothing without it.

But yeah HHH needs to go away and stay away. It was bad enough that he dominated the main event scene when The Rock and Austin were around (both guys pretty much hated him too) and won way too many matches even back then, then won too many matches and killed WWE's ratings after driving both of them away, burying all the talent The Rock tried to set up for the next gen, he now has to continue dominating the main event scene and boring everyone. I don't understand why Shane and Vince didn't wrestle full time, it's the same thing. You can't have a guy with that much power in the company wrestling full time.

WWE refuses to build new stars, and the old ones are awful (on Raw). SD is pretty much the complete opposite. Edge and Hardy are actually fairly new as main eventers, Jericho is established but he always lost a lot and took a few long breaks so he doesn't get stale, Punk is on his first REAL run as Champ, Morrison is getting noticed for great matches, everything is new and fresh.

WWE really needs to just scrap the top of the RAW card. Seriously, if HHH was told he can no longer wrestle, Orton, Cena and Batista were given walking papers, they'd be FORCED to build new stars and they'd be exciting. WWE argued that Lesnar had no value to them now since he hadn't wrestled for awhile (brilliant legal argument there, show that you don't want a man to earn a living completely out of spite, not that you are losing out in profits or can be otherwise harmed, no, in spite only) so I don't see how they can truly worry about anyone they cut. Just job them out for awhile and then fire them, they're worthless right?

Actually, of that list, I think Cena is the only one that should stay on. He'd need to rework everything for awhile, and lose more often, but he's not as terrible as the other ones.

With the exception of the Women's Title Match this show was pretty flawless entertainment-wise. Yeah a couple of the finishes were inconclusive but come on...we saw the formation of a potentially awsome tag team combination in Jericho and Edge, the beginning of a heel turn for Punk and a face turn for Debiase, and great performances by virtually everyone. Easily 8/10 in my opinion.

I was there live, and enjoyed everything up until the Cena/Miz match. I didn't catch the divas match, but I blame that on the fact that the concession stand people took FOREVER. I can't speak for how the show looked on PPV, but it was a ton of fun live.

I think the Miz squash was to prove Chris Jericho's Theory that Jericho would have gotten somewhat over during his WCW 'feud' with goldberg, where he did the same stuff as miz, and then get squashed by goldberg on a ppv as a 'comeuppance'. sadly, that theory is just not true.

You people make me laugh. You get all angry because Cena buried Miz or because HHH won't put over Orton. Seriously, who cares? It's JUST A SHOW. That's it. Doesn't effect your daily life in the least.

I don't see the need for such emotional attachment to TV show with writers, actors, and a script that they follow.

It's cool to enjoy watching it, but if they wanna bury Miz or Orton or whoever then let them. When the guy you like wins, then cheer. If the guy you like loses, then boo. It's pro freakin wrestling! If half of you channeled this passion into something that could actually make a difference in this world, we might see actual change in our society.

Then again, you are probably just going to bitch me out for point out the obvious. You'd much rather be left alone to complain about stuff that has absolutely NO EFFECT on your life whatsoever, because "you're a fan!" while there are many other worldly issues that you could be focusing that energies on. I used to be the biggest smark there was, until I realized it was a waste of energy. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy a good wrestling show from time-to-time, which I did tonight until the main event. From a former smark turned casual fan, here are my thoughts:

- Edge & Jericho as Tag Champs was great, because it was a surprise and their both entertaining. I'm a big fan of promo work, so I'll make sure to catch their stuff on YouTube.

- I was kinda hoping Cena would destroy Miz in under a minute for three reasons 1) the marks would love it 2) it's fun to piss off the IWC, because they are mindless sheep who keep coming back for more 3) Miz co-headlined a PPV against Cena and gets a good paycheck from it.

- Jericho v Mysterio reminded me of the glory days of the WCW Cruiserweight Division. That was when being a fan was fun.

- Tommy Dreamer as the ECW Champion is cool and all, but he is showing every bit of the wear and tear on his body from years of abuse. I hope he has a good run and makes some decent money from this with a few good PPV payoffs. Perhaps lose it at Summerslam, since that usually has a lot of buys. Tommy has earned it.

- I hope they keep the HHH v. Orton fued going for another 5 years, just to keep pissing off the IWC. I'm only kidding on that, put them in Hell in a Cell and call it day.

- The Great Khali was a monster heel bad ass, who beat The Undertaker with a chop to the head once. Why is it that when a monster goes from being a heel to a face, they lose their invincibility factor. I think the Undertaker is the only one to really keep it as a face. In a logical world, if I was kicking everyone ass when the people booed me and then I was getting my ass kicked when they cheered me, I'd probably go back to bein booed. I understand this is wrestling tho.

I honestly feel the WWE would be way better off and would turn around really quick if Triple H and John Cena got injured for a long period of time. Triple H just sucks. He dominates as a face and has to dominate to remain over (like Cena) but HHH is also the only guy who when he's heel, dominates. And loses by his other heel companions screwing up or 2-3 faces banding together.

The ppv was ok, the IC Title match stole the show, i mean it was **** without doubt for me.

While the Punk-Hardy match was average its only the start of this fued & im looking forward to where this goes next.

Jerico & Edge winning was awesome, im hoping they get a decent run as a team until they spilt up & edge goes face & they fued.

Roll on smackdown.

Thank you Scott Valentine, I thought I was starting to think I was the only one who felt this way about the Miz....

Since he got off of Morrison's jock he hasn't impressed me once. He is what he is a cocky mid-carder... Love him or hate him Cena is a main-eventer and shouldn't lose to some one of Miz's caliber... One day Miz might step up more and become a seasoned wrestler who is able to break out of the mid-card bubble but I don't believe that he is quite ready.

On another note it is BURIED not Berried....

The Jericho/Mysterio program is why I love and continue to watch wrestling.

It's shame feuds that involve great storytelling, entertaining promos and epic matches seem to be so rare these days. You're lucky to get 1 out of 3 in most cases.

I'd assume the creative control both Jericho & Mysterio have in this one tell you all you need to know. WWE creative should take a good look at how to correctly progress a storyline via TV and PPV.

Also, Jericho/Mysterio have now had 3 straight matches on PPV and each one is better then the next. If you compare the overall programs with Cena-Big Show or HHH-Orton (both recent extended feuds) it's like night & day.

The upcoming Jericho/Edge storyline should be classic w/o a doubt.

That was a horrible waste of my money. I haven't watched a WWE PPV in quite a while, but was shocked to see I was paying $40 for commercials during the PPV. I love that they shill the next PPV the whole night instead of making the current one feel special at all.

The matches were nothing I couldn't see on free TV. I feel incredibly stupid for being sucked in to purchasing this turd.

Before anyone calls me a TNA/ROH shill, I watch all of it. I've been watching wrestling for 25 years, back to the days of Mil Mascaras on WWOR 9 in NYC. And by the way, for those of you that think that Rey Mysterio's dual-masks was "clever", Mil was doing that 25 years ago.

Wrestling in North America sucks right now. *sigh* What happened to the sport that I used to love. Give me something different, intelligent, and at least somewhat unpredictable. Halfway into every match it was painfully obvious who would win.

The worst part of the night was Cena. What good did it do either of them for Cena to bury Miz like that? I was hoping for a good showing from Miz. I could understand Miz taking Cena to the limit and earning some respect, but to bury him like that is silly. Gee, who can we find for Cena to feud with next, now that he buried someone who actually could have provided him with an interesting challenge.

Now, before some brilliant WWE-shill tells me that if I don't like it, don't watch, you're right, I'm done watching. This was my first post ever on 411, and it will be my last.

HHH had to make sure he didn't look bad, Typical of Nipple H(jerk off) Edge and Jericho, brilliant, have them fued eventually and make a new fan favorite. CM and Hardy, well played. NOw this is a fued I like. Keep it up and don't have them do something stupid like involving their families or something. THis is an old-school fued that the WWE desperatly needs to get people watching again.

Posted By: The Great Capt. Smooth (Guest) on June 28, 2009 at 11:14 PM

Yeah I think Miz should crack terrible promos and sell horribly like Cena and be an average wrestler (the bs about him being great is over seriously) then he would be in Cenas league which is over with little kids and teenage girls or Brad B and Butch please (pretty much the same thing).

Has there ever been a champion of any kind less over than Michelle McCool? I'm honestly not sure but if there was anyone else who inspired such complete apathy from the audience with their blandness as McCool does you can pretty much guarantee they didn't deserve to be champion either.

Posted By: Brad B (Guest) on June 29, 2009 at 12:09 AM

Well going by your past brilliance Brad I think Miz is better then Cena.

Same amount of moves and actually cuts decent promos which exposed Cena for the fake he is so:

Miz> Cena and you know it too.

I love how all the smarks are hating on Cena for beating the Miz. Yet they don't realize that kayfabe storyline wise, Cena is a multiple time world champion and Miz is mid-card at best. It's retarded to think that Miz would be able to pull a win on SuperCena. Against a mid-carder and maybe jobber to the stars, yes. A certified main-eventer, hell no.

On the plus side, "YOU CANNOT VISUALLY PERCEIVE HIS PERSONNAGE! 5 phlanges in full physiog" was pure awesomeness.

Oh please as a fan of both companies the only man in the WWE who comes close to AJ is Y2J.

Extreme Rules was miles better than the Bash and Slamiversary was probably even better than Extreme Rules.

TNA's last PPV had to great KOTM matches, a great Monsters Ball and Tag team titles and the rest were watchable.

Last night we had Y2J/Rey and CM Punk/Jeff and the rest were all uninspired.

Compare that to Extreme Rules where Y2J/Rey, Edge/Jeff, Dreamer/Christian/Swagger, Punk/Umaga and the 4 way US match and you can see that The Bash is easily, EASILY, the worst of all three.

Guest#7887, I'm sorry, but I see Miz as somebody who wasn't ready yet and got in WAY over his head. It's not a knock on Miz, just the truth. He's already over, due to his mic skills and he doesn't need to beat Cena in order to stay over. He's got plenty of time. In all honesty, I wish the match had gone about five minutes longer. Maybe, if they had HHH and Orton in a HIAC match that was about five minutes shorter, then Cena and Miz would have been able to work some magic?

I just think it's funny that The Miz was built up to act like a smark and then was nicely destroyed.

Listen, I'll explain this slowly.

I'd hope no-one was realistically expecting The Miz to beat Cena but had he looked the slightest bit credible, it would have been a sign that there is room for upward mobilty on Raw. But all the WWE proved is that they are content to stick with their bread and butter trifecta of HHH, Orton and Cena.

This isn't about The Miz, it's about the WWE giving a sign that they are at least willing to make Raw less stale.

I saw the PPV as mostly reasonable. The Scramble was fine if predictable. The IC title match was good and funny because I had a feeling there would be two masks. The Womens match was fine because now it's open for Gail Kim to get a shot.

Tag match was an interesting twist. For a little while I thought Christian was going to partner Edge. Despite liking Edge/Jericho though it is a little sad that this comes suspiciously just before the night of champions. Which just leaves the question, how are they going to work Cena into the PPV? I smell a triple threat.

Anyway, speaking of Cena, I thought the match was quite good. But I was pissed off at quite how burried Miz was by the end. I didn't expect him to win, but he kinda got crapped on.

SD title match was good, but the end was bullshit. The first two falls of the three stages match was also bullshit. Why they thought that a three stages match with a lame first two stages and a potentially not happening stretcher section would get more buys then just having a stretcher match when that was essentially what we got anyway, I do not know. The ending was predictable the rest was reasonable if uninspiring.

Overall, it wasn't terrible but it was far from a classic.
