411's ECW on Sci-Fi Report 6.30.09
Posted by Michael Bauer on 06.30.2009

Welcome to the ECW on Sci-Fi! As always, I am Michael Bauer, your 411 ECW Re-capper. And how we even have an ECW show anymore is mind boggling. Let's look at the trade again, shall we?

ECW gets Shelton Benjamin, Goldust, and William Regal
ECW loses Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Finlay, and the Hart Dynasty

What the fuck is left here? Tommy Dreamer, Christian, Shelton, and Jack Shit? So sue me if I am not as thrilled to be recapping ECW this week.

We open with Tiffany welcoming us to the new look of ECW, as we lost plenty of talent in the huge 15 superstar trade. But we got some talent back and have the return of the new superstar imitative.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Yoshi Tatsu

Josh calls it a huge deal getting Shelton. What about losing all of the other guys? Yoshi had some fame in Japan apparently. Shelton takes the mic and does same fake Japanese accent to insult Yoshi as to picking the wrong night to come to ECW. The bell rings and Shelton keeps the charade going by bowing at each corner. Ok, since when did he become comic relief with the crane position and sumo style? Ok… so at least a minute and a half goes by and Yoshi finally had enough. So Shelton Benjamin bows to Yoshi and gets decked in the head with a roundhouse kick. Yoshi makes the cover and gets the pinfall?? That was about two minutes long and most of it was Shelton being a jackass.

Winner: Yoshi Tatsu

Match Rating: -***** What the fuck was the point of bringing over Shelton if that is how he comes back?

Backstage, Abraham Washington is coming to the ring to bring his new talk show to ECW. He is also a new talent imitative guy and his guests are the Bella Twins, who are also new to ECW. This has a shit load of piss breaks written all over this.

Back from the break and here comes Abraham Washington out to some really cheesy talk show music. Matt says he has the gift of gab and is very charismatic. The ring is set up with some leather couches as he welcomes us to the Abraham Washington. The crowd has no clue what to make of this. He wants to speak about a few things seen in the WWE recently. Wow, this is a really, really bad impersonation of Letterman. He compares the pain of the Three Stages of Hell to hearing Paris Hilton in a spelling bee. This is painful and finally he brings out the Bella Twins, which might salvage my eyes at least, because my hears are hating this. He tells them to relax since his name isn't OJ Simpson. Bree has the flower in her hair and Washington has cards with questions in his hand. He asks have they always looked a lot as a joke. He then asks how much money they spend on their fake hair. Wow, this is going nowhere fast. How puts over how the Bella Twins were the SI's sexiest twins in sports and asks how they were different. Bree is the younger one by sixteen minutes, Nikki was the smartest, and Bree got the first kiss in middle school. Ok, now he is heating up the questions. Nikki says she was the first one to get a little more freaky. Washington asks who can do the best split and they have a debate over whoever is the best athlete. Bree then says the one thing she can do better is hold onto a boyfriend. Washington then ends this, thinking a cat fight will break out. He tries to sit in between them and they both get up and leave him hanging. Wow, that was utterly painful and pathetic. At least the Bella twins are hot.

Sheamus vs. Oliver John

Ok, finally, we get Sheamus on ECW. He gets on the microphone, saying he is Irish, a Celtic Warrior, and that he is here to claim ECW as his own. Oliver gets a waistlock, but he gets flipped right off. Sheamus clubs down on the back of the neck and chokes him on the middle rope. Oliver gets whipped hard into the corner and then gets thrown right down on his back. Sheamus locks in a neck wrench, but he chucks Oliver down as he gets up. Oliver again chest first into the corner and he gets drilled with a shoulder block. Sheamus clubs away, but gets hit with an elbow and a serious of punches. Sheamus reverses a whip and connects with a huge boot to the face. Sheamus grabs Oliver and hits a Rock Bottom type move into a backbreaker for the three count at 2:30.

Winner: Sheamus

Match Rating: *3/4 Decent debut match for the Celtic Warrior.

Backstage, Kozlov is warming up and Regal comes over to him to make sure he understands the strategy for their match tonight. Kozlov looks to only partially understand and walks off. We head to commercial.

Backstage, Zach Ryder is interrupted by Tyler Wrex, who is his opponent for Superstars on Thursday. Zach says that the best beaches are on Long Island, not California, and that he better get ready for their match. Woo, woo, woo. Hate to agree with Zach, but Long Island beaches really are that good.

We get the Raw Rebound with Batista being Raw's guest host and all the hell he put Orton through.

Backstage, we see Christian walking backstage and he runs into Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer wonders what Christian's problem is. Christian says that his return to ECW happened in this building and that he is still coming after the ECW Title. Dreamer says that Christian has great timing and wants to team now, discuss the title later. We head to commercial.

Vladimir Kozlov and William Regal vs. Tommy Dreamer and Christian

Striker is very happy to see William Regal, calling him one of his favorites. Christian definitely got the biggest pop of the night and that ain't saying much. The bell rings and Christian starts with Regal. Christian with a waistlock and Regal reverses into an arm wrench, which Christian reverses into a hammerlock. Christian bounced off the ropes an a shoulder block takes neither man down, but a headlock takedown by Christian works. Regal backs Christian into the corner and clubs him. Christian gets the boot up as Regal charged in and hits the diving European uppercut for two. Kozlov tagged in and Christian tries to hit and run, but runs right into a wall. Christian slips free on a backbreaker of sorts and tags in Dreamer. Dreamer gets shoved into the corner and gets drilled with a shoulder block. Dreamer gets whipped, but Kozlov ducked early and he got caught with a boot. Dreamer clotheslines Kozlov to the floor and tags in Christian. Christian hits a dropkick as Kozlov gets to the apron and Regal comes over to halt Christian's dive attempt as we go to commercial at 2:30.

Back at 6:00 and Regal has Dreamer locked up and he connects with some knees to the gut. Regal distracts the ref and Kozlov kicks away. Kozlov tagged in and he hits a series of elbows for a two count. Regal tagged in and he hits a huge uppercut, but gets tagged also. Dreamer with an arm whip takedown and Christian gets the tag. Christian unloads on Regal and hits a missile dropkick for two. Christian hits the springboard sunset flip for two, but Regal snaps the arm on the top rope and gets Kozlov tagged in. Kozlov rams the shoulder of Christian into the turnbuckle and locks in a key lock. Christian escapes and runs into a knee to the gut. Kozlov gets a two count and tags in Regal, who traps the arm quickly. Christian punches out, but gets dropped in one shot. Regal drops the knees on the arm and tags in Kozlov, who goes back to the key lock. Christian punches out, but Kozlov grabs him and hits a series of headbutts and a belly to belly suplex for a two count. Regal tagged in and he flips him down by the arm, raking his knee along the arm. Christian reverses a whip and collides with Regal, allowing both Dreamer and Kozlov to be tagged in. Dreamer punches away, but gets sent into the corner. Kozlov runs into a boot and eats a clothesline for two. Kozlov reverses a DDT, but Dreamer hits the neckbreaker for two. Kozlov hits a knee and lifts up Dreamer, but he slips out and shoves Kozlov into a tag. Dreamer clotheslines Kozlov out and drags in Regal. Regal whipped into the corner, but he avoids a charge and Dreamer goes shoulder first into the post. Regal hits an exploder suplex and Kozlov gets a blind tag. Regal looks stunned, but Kozlov comes in and hits the Iron Curtain for the three count at 13:45. Regal looks to approve.

Winners: Kozlov and Regal

Match Rating: **3/4 Pretty good match as this looks to establish Kozlov as a title contender, not a jobber squasher.

As a reminder, next week's ECW starts at 7 PM on Thursday Night! I won't be here for that as I am going on vacation.

I think the show can now be renamed "FCW on Sci-Fi", lol. All kidding aside, it’s great to see some new faces on ECW after the brand lost some top players in the 15-person trade. And I am honestly shocked at how far Shelton Benjamin has fallen in such a short amount of time.

Posted By: Nick M. (Guest)  on June 30, 2009 at 11:33 PM

WWE should just fire Benjamin already. WWE doesn't seem like they want to push him pass midcard status

Posted By: Larry (Guest)  on June 30, 2009 at 11:38 PM

Hope I'm the first one in to say

Sheamus = Adam Savage on roids

BTW was I the only one that thought Abraham Washington was a take off of Obama with that cadence in his speech? (He was awful, that was worse than listening to CM Punk and I despise Punk as alot of people already know.)

Posted By: Dave (Guest)  on June 30, 2009 at 11:46 PM

That was a pretty solid start for the new ECW. Benjamin jobbing like that sucked but at least he was entertaining. Yoshi Tatsu is a surprising call up but he's pretty good.

Sheamus is great. This call up is a long time coming. Even Abraham Washington is a fairly entertaining on air character. He'd make a great replacement for Tiffany.

Oh, and that guy's name is Tyler REKS.

The wrestling wasn't phenonenal this week but from an angle/debut perspective ECW still has a bright future despite having a lot of its talent stolen last night.

"What about losing all of the other guys?"
yeah coz Josh bitching about it on live tv is gonna help his career, yours, mine and The Hart Dynasty's.

Shelton Benjamin is now going to be this decades Shawn Stasiak.

Comedy squash by Shelton to a FCW guy?

Man, that is Santina/Kendrick brutal.

Title hunt before back to jobbing on Raw/SD with a bit of credibility was what I expected, not that shit.

That is a proper BERRIED.

The Sheamus match was decent, hopefully Drew McIntyre will get a call up as well.
Regal showed that he is a genius, and together with Dreamer doing what he does best(eating finishers) actually managed to put Kozlov over pretty well.

I thought Shelton showed more charisma here than possibly ever.

Am I the only person was was begging for Low Ki... errr Kawal to debut?

Listen, ECW is the new FCW and it seems working fine for WWE (Punk, Morrison, and now Bourne, Swagger and The Harts). Why get so dam flustered about what you think ECW should be like? I really really think that Vince has a better
business mind than you while i appreciate the fact that you are a regular columnist. Well, at least spare a thought for your readers who come here, hoping for a whine-free ECW report.

It sucks that Shelton acted goofy and that Belle skit even featured on ECW, but shit man, dont make us suffer for it.

I'm not sure what to make of Sheamus, Yoshi, or Tyler Reks yet, but that segment with Abraham Washington and the Bellas was an absolute abortion. That was the worst thing I've seen on ECW since the first episode of ECW on Sci-Fi. I know the show is going to go through some growing pains after losing most of the roster, including 1-2 guaranteed squash matches per week to build up the newcomers, but WOW was that awful.

On the positive side, Shelton was hilarious on the mic before he lost, and I really hope he isn't just there to put over new guys like he did with Kofi back in the day.

Ryder is always a plus. WOO WOO WOO! YOU KNOW IT!

And I'm kind of intrigued by the Regal/Kozlov alliance. I've always liked Regal, and the fact that he got such great heat from the crowd tonight, as he usually does, bodes well for him. Regal as ECW Champion would make for some great promos.

I completely disagree, that was a great debut for Yoshitatsu.

I think there's more to the Shelton situation than that...we'll see how Yoshi during a legit rematch. Could lead to Shelton snapping...

Loved this week's show. I was hesitant because of Bourne, Henry, and The Hart Dynasty leaving, but it was cool to see some of the new talent debuts. The Yoshi a.k.a. Yamamoto was a great opening match and looks to be the making of Benjamin's first feud back in ECW. Abraham was God awful, but if he can do what he did in FCW, then ECW has something special in the making. The finisher by Sheamus was just plain sick. I love how he wears black gear in the ring to highlight his albino-like paleness. The Tyler Reks/Zach Ryder feud is going to be interesting as well because nothing signifies a feud like surfer turf wars. Tyler is bigger than what I thought he would be. He has a good look to him. I'm hoping to see some other new faces coming up in the upcoming weeks.

how in the holy hell did that main event get almost 3 stars? were you watching the same steaming pile of shit that i was? that was a painful main event, even christian couldn't save that match from being awful. it was so slow and disjointed, kozlov showed about the same offensive skillset as khali, and regal almost suplexed dreamer on his head. the only thing that was worse than that main event was the abraham washington show the wwe needs to future endeavor that guy asap it was one of the worst things i've ever seen on wwe. not only did they rape the ecw roster, they made a star like shelton look like a bitch, and that hour gave us no reason to watch next week. vince owes me an hour of my life back after i just wasted it watching the garbage that is ecw.

Benjamin losing wasn't the end of the world. He was hilarious!!! Next week he will squash Yoshi and Mario too if he gets in his way!

Interested in seeing Zach Ryder vs Tyler Wrex maybe ECW got something there.

Abraham Washington...that wasn't good..maybe with better guests..Bellas are hot..but terrible on the mike.

I thought Sheamus was good..dude is big..but wow his whiteness freaked me out. Powder had a better tan.

Regal and Kozlov....Hmmm I like it. maybe a team they can keep together..just rough and mean.

Wow, what is this, our regular ECW or did this suddenly become FCW.

Posted By: Mechalon (Guest)  on July 01, 2009 at 12:56 AM

The thing with Benjamin was the most awesome thing on the show. His opponent was the only new guy to get a decent reaction, and it was because of Shelton's antics.

Posted By: August (Guest)  on July 01, 2009 at 12:59 AM

Shelton went out and got over with the crowd. He cut a strong promo and made the crowd want to see him lose. He did his job and it provided a big pop for a new comer that nobody had any prior opinion of.

Shelton did a great job. It's obviously going to be sold as a fluke win. You people really need to chill out.

When the 1-2-3 Kid beat Razor Ramon, I bet all of you would have assumed Scott hall's career was over and he may as well have retired in 1993.

I thought the Washington skit was funny. He was suppose to be terrible, hes a heel character.

Talent initiatives don't work, there's too many people taking up too little screen time. The last time they did this, I think 80% of the initiative were fired or sent back to FCW within a few months.

Posted By: y2kev (Guest)  on July 01, 2009 at 01:36 AM

Typical quick to judge, smark response to one of your favorites getting jobbed out. If that was Kozlov losing to Yoshi Tatsu instead of Benjamin, there would be zero outrage.

Who would have thunk it? Matt Striker likes the over the top Barack Obama impersonator.

Oh and Long Island has the best beaches if you prefer your beaches filled with annoying guidos.

Posted By: Guest#3540 (Guest)  on July 01, 2009 at 01:57 AM

So they're gonna have the Bellas feud...again...on ECW...again. What was the point of moving them to Raw?

Posted By: Guest#0693 (Guest)  on July 01, 2009 at 01:59 AM

Problem is, you cant debut all your new talent in back to back segments. Nobody cares...

And while I have no problem with new talent... I swore that ECW losing SEVEN superstars was an opportunity for guys like Ryder, Kozlov, Burchill, Helms, the newly acquired Regal, Goldust, and Benjamin, and the unused DJ Gabriel and Ezekiel Jackson to be elevated.

Yet, instead of elevating the established talent and putting the new talent at the bottom...guys like Ryder and Burchill are still being held down.

What SHOULD have happened? Sheamus debuts...Ryder defeats Recks...Benjamin and Goldust should have debuted (strongly)...the main event tag stays as is...

then next week you bring in Yoshi and MAYBE do that Washington skit...

Posted By: Guest#2884 (Guest)  on July 01, 2009 at 02:09 AM

To be honest if ECW is now FCW that isn't such a bad thing. FCW is pretty entertaining and at least we get to see fresh new talent on a weekly basis.

Posted By: Andrew Barbarash (Guest)  on July 01, 2009 at 02:10 AM

Wow, I want to see more of Yoshi Tatsu, that I got to feel might be fun. However Abraham Washington just fell...flat. God that segment was AWFUL. Seamus is a big dude and might be interesting. Got to see how Recks is Thursday to judge him.

The problem with the new talent initiative is that they just suddenly appear. It doesn't always work. Evan Borne might have succeeded but the best way to introduce a new guy is through promo videos for maybe a couple of weeks and then we get them on TV when people know them a bit like they did with Kofi and Punk who got over really fast when the debuted. But only time will tell how this works.

I wish they would used Kafu in ECW hopefully WWE would bring him back

Better than Utopia anyone?

Posted By: guesthehe (Guest)  on July 01, 2009 at 02:38 AM

Washington's segment wasn't just bad, it was flat. Nothing to like, and you know the idiotic Bella rift will be played up to make Washington's "show" seem significant or controversial. The guy can sort of talk, but showed no personality. If it's supposed to be a cliche of late night talk show hosts, it's probably jumping the shark on day one.

Sheamus is like Test + Albert (both were decent workers) with personality. He can sort of speak (hard to understand), but having to differentiate his character from that of a reinvigorated Finlay could be very interesting. Skin's painful to look at but what can he do about it - spray-on tan?

Obviously, the ring work of Yoshi Tatsu and Tyler Reks shouldn't be judged until they have actual matches.

Don't care for Tatsu's Japanese logos galore, as most Japanese characters have other defining characteristics. I truly hope he gets a likable personality - even Evan Bourne sort of needed one to get over.

I got nothing on Reks until Thursday - his persona's just fine.

Nope. Not a typical smark response with Shelton. It is a burial.

1) The 1-2-3 Kid/ Razor one was done a million times better. It played on the cockiness of the Razor character. This one played on Shelton suddenly busting cheap semi-comedic xenophobic heat that he's never used and the reversal of it.
2) The angle is clear, Shelton acts like a dick by playing up to every racist wwe stereotype, new guy kicks him in the head and pins him to show it's bollocks, new guy gets instant pop and is over a little. They then feud same as Shelton-Kofi did last time Shelton was on ecw to establish him.

Problem is that it was cheap heat that weakens character.
Shelton at least showed some charisma and ability to work a crowd, for once, and no doubt they will tear it up in the ring. Yoshi can work.
The problem is that Shelton does not have a gimmick/identity that connects well with the general audience, and if you have him eating as many pins as he does(Isn't he something like 1 and 18 or so this year in singles?)while also using comedic/cheap heat segments that eventually the general audience associate that with him meaning that the work he can do, such as the Morrison elevation is no longer effective.
Best example of how this works is Kane.
Remember how much of monster he was?
Now he isn't viewed like that.

But feck it, that's only my opinion :)

What a terrible shame to see Shelton Benjamin used in such a manner. I hope his contract expires soon, so he can seek employment elsewhere. There's no reason he should be used like this.

Wow.

I thought I had seen the dumbest fucktwits of all dumb fucktwits on the 'net.

Then I read you people's piss-and-moan posts about Shelton Benjamin on ECW tonight.

YOU are the dumbest fucktwits of all dumb fucktwits!!!

The story: Shelton is the cocky, arrogant heel as well as the "best pure athelete" in the WWE. He's never heard of this Yoshi Tatsu guy and underestimates him. He makes fun of him just as he would any ham-and-egger he's never heard of before. Tatsu sees an opening and wins the match.

Have any of you assholes even WATCHED wrestling for any longer than the past five years outside of WWE, TNA and ROH? You shitheads have heard that wrestling existed BEFORE 2000... and that there were these smaller wrestling promotions called "territories", haven't you?

This deal with Benjamin and Tatsu is a classic from the territory days. One of the top heels faces new guy on the scene.... assumes he's a joke... gets embarrassed.

There is NOTHING out of character with Benjamin and he was NOT burried by this loss. Any of you who msay otherwise don't have one. single. fucking. CLUE about what it means for someone to be "burried".

If you dipshits are going to USE "inside" termsa... LEARN WHAT THE FUCK THEY MEAN!!!

Matt Striker is starting to annoy me on ECW. As great as he is, I don't think the guy can figure out whether he wants he want to do PBP or be a color commentator.

Whoa! Sheamus' Irish was pretty bad. He was saying the kinda basic stuff you learn at your first day at school in Ireland and I'm pretty sure the last bit made no sense. But who cares I guess, there's more people in the world who speak fluent Klingon than fluent Irish (or Gaelic as Sheamus called it).

On the plus side he was looking pretty tanned for an Irish person!

"BTW was I the only one that thought Abraham Washington was a take off of Obama with that cadence in his speech"

No sh*t sherlock. Didn't you think the name ABRAHAM (lincoln) (george) WASHINGTON was a bit of a give away.

I have to say, an Obama heel gimmick is the most retarded thing WWE has done for a while. Way to make it clear they are all republicans that are totally out of touch with the opinions of the fans. Not to mention that a long boring talk show with a rookie host on a one hour show is just plain retarded!

Other then that I liked the new infusion of talent. The show won't be the same as it was, but it still has potential.

I'm not the world's biggest Shelton Benjamin fan, but I'm wondering who he has pissed off lately. He has been jobbing more than pretty much everyone else lately. I think they could have pulled off the same thing with Regal, but they won't do that because I'm guessing he has more say in it than Shelton does. In the end though, Shelton did his job. He put over a new guy terrificly. The Abraham Washington skit was boring, and I seldomly use that to describe anything in wrestling. He also didn't call it The Three Stages of Hell match. He called it The Three Stages of The Hell match. This is also the first time I have ever taken a piss break during a match or promo in a long while... because I usually save that for commercials. I think the guy can be entertaining, but he needs a chance to interact with somebody more interesting than the Bella Twins.

Posted By: Andis (Guest)  on July 01, 2009 at 09:36 AM

Benjamin jobbing was to give the debuting guy some credibility. Shelton will be ECW champ in a few months, no doubt.

Posted By: Foolio (Registered)  on July 01, 2009 at 10:02 AM

Four new people in one night with no build, is not exactly the best idea. A couple vignets would have done wonders.

Yoshi/Benjamin was damned entertaining, as someone else said, just think of 1,2,3 Kid and Razor. Shelton was cocky and didn't take Yoshi seriously. Next week he will, and I don't know if Yoshi is a good wrestler but if he is then it could be a great rivalry to get him over.

Abraham Washington was just awful, I turned the channel.

Shamus was great, and the crowd was really into the match. But you have an irish guy debuting, why isn't he brought in as a prodigy of Finlay? In the last couple weeks Finlay could have said he was training a fellow countryman who was almost as tough as him, and he would have instant credability.

Not sure how it will all work out, but 3 of the 4 seem promising (depending on how Tyler's match goes Thursday)

Sorry wwe, but you don't deserve someone like Shelton. Did he actually refuse to suck Vince Cock. I'm sick and tired of the same old dinosaure, HHH at the top, the Undertaker, then Shawn Michel, the Cena, then Bastista, then Orton, in that order on who beat who. Vince must be a racist, he doesn't like MVP neather

Why do Kozlov's trunks say 'Sambo' on them?? God forbid we forget that he's trained in Sambo. What's next.. Swagger's will say 'Amatuer wrestling' CM Punk's will say 'Brazilian Ju-Jitsu' Shelton Benjamin's will say 'Jobber'

The Abraham Washington show was the most fucking retarded thing I've ever watched and thhe Bella twins are two worthless sluts that should be making porn.

Remember when ECW was good?

Yep. The year was 1996.

Talent initiatives don't work, there's too many people taking up too little screen time. The last time they did this, I think 80% of the initiative were fired or sent back to FCW within a few months.

Posted By: y2kev (Guest) on July 01, 2009 at 01:36 AM

Which is precisely what the point is.

Why are the WWE going to continue to pay people who have been in FCW for two plus years and when given the opportunity on ECW, don't take it?

There is some bemusing choices under contract with the WWE, this is a good way of purging the people who don't make the grade and never will in one fell swoop.

Which is what ECW is for. It is basically FCW on SciFi.

It's not live so can easily be edited and those who prove to be half way decent will end up on RAW / Smackdown by Christmas, whilst the rest of the crap gets filtered out and so the circle of life in the WWE continues.

Of course, anyone who gets too over in ECW will soon be jobbed out to Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista or SuperCena in a matter of minutes of appearing on RAW, cos you know that glass ceiling isn't getting broken anytime soon.

Oliver John did the total 80's jobber smile and finger point. He is my new favorite wrestler!

Oliver John on ECW! Hope you all have your green cards.

"Old School" or "Border Patrol", Oliver John was on ECW. He's the Pro Wrestling Revolution Champion and the NWA Heritage Champion.

Posted By: Funky Freddy Feelgood (Guest) on July 01, 2009 at 03:55 AM

Way to be a prick Freddy! Look, ignore them because they will use whatever words sound cool making them look like idiots when they do not know what "SMARKS" or "BERRIED" means. Its funny to see that, yes, but commenting how illiterate they are is a total waste of a post dude.

Sheamus = Conan O'Brien if he was a wrestler

Yeah, you're right.

But it's like poking at monkeys in cages with a stick. It may be mean-spirited and pointless to pick on something so helpless... but, damn if it ain't FUN!

Yoshi Tatsu is a ripoff of the first live action Ninja Turtles movie, combining the names Yoshi (Splinter's master) and Tatsu (the bald bad guy).

The way Tatsu won was a ripoff of the movie, too. In the movie, Tatsu kicks a guy in the head who is bowing to him. Tatsu the wrestler wins the same way in his match. Benjamin was bowing to him and Tatsu kicked him the head.

Absolutely loving this team of William Regal and Vladimir Kozlov. Too bad ECW doesn't have a set of their own tag straps (although the brand really does desperately need another championship of some sort - hopefully Television title or Cruiserweight) because these two would take them guaranteed. I do however smell an eventual series of ultra-stiff wars between Regal and Kozlov somewhere down the line, which would be phenomenal. William Regal will dominate this brand shortly, I'm certain of it. You can see the feeling of resurgance in his eyes.
I also could have done without the bullshit from Shelton Benjamin. Glad he was made to look like an even bigger goof when he was pinned here against Tatsu. He seriously seems to be a target of the front office and is quickly becoming the shit standard.

And please - somebody hurt Zack Ryder!

Everything about this show was the pits. Terrible rookie debuts, that horrendous talk show, with Abraham Washington, who's appeal is absolute zero, and sounds like Chris Tucker on helium, and those brainless twins who are happy to be portrayed as skanky twits, the Bellas. If you're a veteran like Christian or Regal you've got to be concerned about the direction your career is headed, because ECW is sad, boring and pathetic.
