Christian and Yoshi battle Regal and Ryder in the main event and did I just see Burchill actually get a win?
Welcome to the ECW on SyFy! As always, I am Michael Bauer, your 411 ECW Re-capper. And holy crap, they already got Rosa on the opening video.
Ezekiel Jackson (with Vladimir Kozlov) vs. Goldust
Oh joy, half of last week's Tag Team match. Goldust has victories in ECW? Since when? I don't remember any of them. Anyway, the bell rings and they lockup with Goldust getting a headlock. But he gets shoved off the rope and hit with a back elbow. Goldust avoids an elbow drop and uses his quickness to slip out and hit a knee to the chest of Jackson, before hitting a clothesline from the second rope for a two count. Goldust fires away with a few right hands and comes off the ropes, but runs right into a clothesline. Goldust sent into the corner and driven down with punches. Jackson hits a running knee and gets a two count. Jackson goes to the bear hug with his 23 inch biceps. Goldust punches out, but again walks into a forearm shiver for a two count. Jackson goes hind and locks in an underhook submission, followed by a back suplex for another 2 count. He goes back quickly to the same submission and Goldust tries to kick Jackson's leg out. Goldust sent into the corner and Jackson leaps into Goldust's arms… and Goldust catches him! But Jackson crashes on Goldust for two. Goldust nails Jackson with a huge boot to the face and his uppercut. Jackson kicks out after two following a bulldog, but Goldust follows with a Flatliner. Goldust heads up top and Kozlov distracts him, allowing Jackson to kick the rope and trip up Goldust. Jackson then slams down Goldust with the modified Rock Bottom to get the three count at 5:50.
Winner: Ezekiel Jackson
Match Rating: *1/4 I was decent for what it was worth, but far from a good effort.
After the bell, Kozlov drives down Goldust with the Iron Curtain and they walk off. We then go to the controversy for the ending of the Regal vs. Tatsu match, with his foot under the rope. We also see the ending of the Christian vs. Zack Ryder match and the chaos Regal's Roundtable caused.
After the break, Ryder catches up with Regal and says he thinks Regal is threatened by him and how qualified he is for a title match. Ryder gets cut off by Jackson and Kozlov coming from behind him. Regal says that Ryder is lucky they didn't do more to him and that he is willing to go through with this match because he wants to win.
Sheamus comes down to the ring, but doesn't have a match apparently. He grabs a microphone and talks about his match with Shelton Benjamin from Superstars, which he lost by DQ. Sheamus says that it doesn't do any justice. We see clips of Sheamus beating down Shelton and getting the DQ because he didn't break at a five count. Sheamus tells the story of Shelton coming to the WWE 10 years with his great skill and how he has done nothing with it. Sheamus says that Shelton has the greatest ability he has ever seen, but he has never been to the top of the mountain. Sheamus plans on using Benjamin as a stepping stone, knocking him out of the way on his way to the top.
Backstage, Paul Burchill walks with Katie Lea to the ring, on his way to face the resident super hero next.
The Hurricane vs. Paul Burchill
The pop for Hurricane was almost immediate. Katie Lea look freaking smoking… good god. The bell rings and Burchill takes Hurricane down with a go behind , but Hurricane gets a headlock. Burchill off the ropes and the shoulder block goes nowhere. Hurricane punches Burchill and throws him to the floor. Hurricane goes sup and flies down onto Burchill. Burchill backed into the corner and Hurricane gets an arm wrench. Burchill reverses, but Hurricane blocks the corner smash. Hurricane gets body dropped into the apron and tries to spring in, but gets caught. He gets dumped on the apron and shoulder blocked to the floor. Burchill pounds on him before rolling in Hurricane for a two count. Burchill with an arm bar, but Hurricane is up and punches out before getting nailed with an arm breaker. Burchill stomps away on the arm and goes back to the submission. Hurricane again punches out and uses an arm drag to get separation. Burchill off the ropes and he runs into a Lou Thesz Press. Hurricane has the whip reversed, but goes up top and hits a Hurricarana for two. Burchill drives Hurricane with a single arm DDT for another two. Hurricane places up top and Burchill tries for the superplex. Hurricane fights out and Burchill gets dropped with a gordbuster. Hurricane flies with a cross body and only gets two. Burchill slips out of the Eye of the Hurricane and shoves Hurricane into the corner. Burchill heads up, but Hurricane gets the advantage and tries the Super Hurricarana, but it is blocked with Burchill holding onto the ropes. Burchill connects with a Jackknife and sure enough gets a win on ECW with the pinfall at 7:30!
Winner: Paul Burchill
Match Rating: **1/4 Nice match between these two and holy hell, Burchill actually got a win!
Back from the break and we get a video package for Randy Orton vs. John Cena.
Yoshi Tatsu is warming up and Christian walks in to ask if he is ready. Yoshi says that he is focused and nervous. Yoshi speaks Japanese about why he is nervous. Christian says that he meant it last week when he said Yoshi deserves to be #1 contender. He then tries to get the last thank you by distracting him with Ichiro, but Yoshi doesn't fully fall for it and gets the last one in anyway.
William Regal and Zack Ryder vs. Yoshi Tatsu and ECW Champion Christian
Ryder and Regal go right in each other's faces immediately. Yoshi lost the green pants. FAIL! The bell rings as Yoshi starts with Ryder. They lockup and Ryder gets a headlock and hits a shoulder block. Yoshi blocks a hip toss and rolls around into one of his own. Yoshi gets the arm wrench and tags in the champ. Christian hits the headlock and gets a shoulder block. Ryder throws Christian into the corner and pounds away before choking him with his boot. Ryder backs Christian into the corner again and punches away. Ryder hits a forearm, but misses a charge and gets dumped to the floor. Regal goes to check on him and Christian connects with a baseball slide on both men and then the springboard dive to the floor! We head to commercial at 2:35.
Back at 6:35 and Regal gets flipped inside out with an arm drag. Regal backed into the corner and lead out with a snap mare and a kick to the back. Regal shoves Christian off into the corner and nails him with a forearm. Ryder tagged in and he punts the chest of Christian. Ryder locks in a headlock, but the escape by Christian is blocked. Regal tagged in and he puts Christian up top. Christian fights out and hits the double spinning elbow. Yoshi and Zack tagged in and Yoshi unloads. Ryder backs up and gets drilled with the double knees by Tatsu. Yoshi hits the leg lariat and gets a two count and another one after the snapmare and snap kick. Ryder goads Christian and Regal kicks Tatsu in the gut, allowing Ryder to hit a neckbreaker. Regal tagged in and he hits a series of knees in the corner, nearly getting the DQ. Regal pulls Tatsu to the corner to tag in Ryder. Ryder hits a boot to the chest and goes back to the chin lock. Tatsu elbows out, but gets blocked from a tag. Ryder lifts Tatsu and backs him into the corner. Regal tagged in, but Yoshi fires back with uppercuts, but gets drilled with a kick to the head for two. Ryder tagged in now and he throws Yoshi in the corner before connecting with a Face Wash. He gets a two count and puts Tatsu in the corner. Yoshi gets the boot up and hits the Roaring Elbow before tagging in Christian. Christian gets caught with a boot to the face, but catches Ryder with a spinning heel kick. Flashpoint connects for a two count as does the springboard sunset flip. Ryder headbutts out of the Killswitch and hits the Rough Rider Leg Lariat for a two count. Christian hits the inverted DDT and Regal breaks the pin. Yoshi goes after Regal and they go to the floor. Yoshi gets thrown into the steel steps and Regal takes a blind tag. Ryder argues with Regal and he turns into a punch by Christian and then gets his neck snapped by Ryder! Christian hits an ugly Killswitch and gets the three count at 14:20. Ryder walks off looking disgusted.
Winners: Christian and Yoshi Tatsu
Match Rating: **3/4 Pretty good match here even with a decently predictable ending.
Still waiting for Yoshi to turn heel and make an ECW style 'World Elite', led by Regal, only this version will be credible in the fans' eyes.

They need to be careful with that 'Scarlet Witch' thing they keep using for Katie Lea. I'm surprised Marvel hasn't gotten on their ass for that.

I echo the sentiments about Katie Lea. How can they not find something better for her to do? Not that Burchill is bad (he's far from it), but it's obvious that WWE doesn't see much in him. At least but her in a more prominent role.

See? For all the haters, Ryder is actually getting elevated!

RE: Sheamus' promo.
Wow. Just wow. I wonder who wrote that promo because it almost sounded like Sheamus channeled whichever WWE scout/booker brought Shelton into the fold 10 years ago.

Marvel eh? I bought them from beyond the grave!

Burchill wins, awesome. Keep it up WWE.

The worst part about Sheamus' promo was when the crowd was saying "what" and he basically played into it by waiting for them and smiling at it, you could tell it was getting to him. He needs to keep his promos short and sweet until he gets a little more established.

Yoshi Tatsu needs to ditch that Misawa outfit, he's hardly at that level. I don't give a ---- if it's in tribute.
Katie Lea can wear whatever she wants...i'd prefer her wearing nothing.

Burchill Wins!
Burchill Wins!
Burchill Wins!
Katie is indeed smoking hot.

Burchill wins! Awesome!! Hope he wins the title someday...gotta move Christian to Smackdown at some point.
And Katie Lee is SSSSSSMoking hot, love her!!!
The Jackson/Goldust match was very good actually, when Dustin gets some time he can wrestle.
Tag at the end was also very good, but don't be turning Ryder good ala Orton 1st title reign. Leave him as a heel, plays is perfectly!
Very good show tonight, just need Shelton on it kickin someone ass, he def deserves more of a push. He isn't that bad on the mic.

Is that Tiffany doing the ring announcements? Good god she's awful.

Woo for Burchill getting a win for once. Let's hope there's more to come.
And honestly they should have moved Katie to RAW in that draft.

Katie Lea is so underrated that it's wild how they don't let her on the mic or anythiing like that. Crazy.
Wanted to see Shelton wrestle but I kind of figured he's gonna have to sell those arm injuries probably for the next two weeks.

Yeah, I know.. She lacks enthusiasm, and in one night forgets to say "and his partner", "and his opponent", and "being accompanied to the ring by" ... The idea is to make introductions. Duh!

Burchill wins! I'm glad he has found a suitable finisher. Jackhammer FTW!
