Santino Marella vs. Chavo Guerrero
Comedy midcard ftw! Santino threatens with his open hand punch, but gets a slap instead. Santino comes back with a pair of armdrags, and again threatens with his cobra like right hand causing Chavo to stand down. Chavo regains control for a short bit with a few shots to the top buckle, but Santino comes back to return the favor. Santino hits a suplex, but walks into a back elbow from Guerrero. Chavo chokes out Santino on the bottom rope, and then delivers a European upper cut getting a two count. Chavo delivers a belly-to-belly suplex, but a backdrop attempt is countered by Santino into a backslide for two. Chavo comes back with a standing dropkick, and locks in a reverse chinlock. Santino elbows free, but is quickly put down by Chavo who delivers a boot to the face. Chavo goes back to the chinlock after a slap, but Chavo is able to hammer his way free. Santino hits a series of right hands and then a cobra strike right hand. Santino goes for a saluting splash, but Chavo moves out of the way and goes back on the offense. Chavo puts the boots to Santino, and goes outside to go for a frog splash. Chavo thinks twice and goes back inside to soften Santino a bit more, but that proves to be his undoing as Santino catches him in a small package to pick up the win at 5:06. I honestly can't remember the last time Santino won a match. This was fun for what it was.
Winner: Santino Marella (Pinfall-Small Package **)

Jack Swagger vs. Primo
Cole notes that "these two superstars have developed quite the rivalry." About like the rivalry a hammer has with a nail it seems. Primo outwrestles Swagger at the outset taking him down with a drop toehold, and then grabbing an armbar. Swagger slams his way free, but misses an elbow drop. Primo hits the ropes and delivers a spinning hurracanrana, but Swagger catches him heading into the corner and regains control. Swagger hits a pair of Vader Bombs, and then grabs a modified abdominal stretch from the seated position. Swagger comes back with a belly to belly throw, and then puts the boot to face of Primo after a series of pushups. Primo comes back with a quick sunset flip for two, and then gets the boots up to stop a charge. Primo hits a open hand chop from the top rope, and then delivers a crossbody for two. Primo hits the ropes, but gets caught by Swagger who delivers the gutwrench powerbomb to finish things at 3:46. Very short, but this was really good for the little time it got.
Winner: Jack Swagger (Pinfall-Gutwrench Powerbomb **)

Paul Burchill (w. Katie Lea Burchill) vs. Tyler Reks
Is Reks the first ever Superstars exclusive superstar? I don't think I've seen him on ECW in weeks. Reks goes on offense early grabbing a side headlock, and then delivers a shoulderblock for a one count. Reks rams Burchill face first into the top turnbuckle, but a trip to the top rope is stopped by Burchill who rips him down to the mat for two. Burchill delivers a short clothesline, and then chokes Reks out on the second rope, before pulling the referee away allowing Katie Lea to get a smack in for good measure. Burchill hits a neckbreaker for two, and then grabs a chinlock. Burchill delivers a shoulderblock in the corner, but then charges into a back elbow from Reks who then hits a dropkick. Reks hits a reverse vertical suplex for two, but Burchill comes right back with a boot to the midsection. Dangerbuster (Jackhammer) connects for Burchill from there which finishes abruptly at 2:43. Poor Reks. Jamie Noble thinks this guy is a jobber.
Winner: Paul Burchill (Pinfall-Dangerbuster *)

Chris Jericho vs. Finlay
Why the hell does Finlay still have Hornswoggle's music? Jericho stalls at the outset bailing to the arena floor, and then comes back inside as he and Finlay fight over a lockup. Jericho gains control of the match with a boot to the gut, but Finlay comes back with a single leg takedown. Finlay delivers an elbow to the sternum for a two count, but Jericho is right back with a takedown and a sleeper hold. Finlay gets free of that and delivers a European uppercut which is followed by a kneedrop for two. European uppercut connects from Finlay who delivers a series of boots. Jericho comes back with an attempt at the Walls of Jericho, but Finlay blocks it. Jericho dodges a charging Finlay and causes him to fly outside to the floor. Jericho heads to the top rope for a splash, but Finlay moves and catches Jericho on the apron before rolling back inside as we head to break. Back from commercial Jericho has regained control of the match with a half nelson chinlock. Finlay comes free with a knee to the gut and a rollup which gets two. Jericho comes back with an enzaguri for a two count, and then a boot to the head. Jericho smacks around Finlay which only serves to piss the old man off, as he comes fighting back only to get met by a Jericho dropkick. Jericho covers for a two count, and then chokes out Finlay on the second rope. Jericho slingshots Finlay throat first into the bottom rope, and then continues the assault in the corner. Finlay comes fighting back with a clothesline for a two count, and then drives Jericho into the corner. Finlay hits a snap mare, but misses an elbow drop on Jericho who comes back with a standing senton for two. Jericho grabs a dragon sleeper, but Finlay punches free. Jericho delivers a kick to the face, but misses a shoulderblock in the corner and gets rolled up for two. Finlay delivers a pair of clotheslines, and the rolling hills gets two. Jericho comes back to grab the Walls of Jericho, but Finlay is able to reach the ropes forcing the break. Jericho charges and gets caught by Finlay who goes for the Celtic Cross, but Jericho grabs the ropes to stop that. Finlay goes back after him, but Jericho hits him with the codebreaker on the way in picking up the win at 13:18. Nothing spectacular, but a good main event this week nonetheless. It's almost as if Jericho has set the bar so high that when he has just an okay match it's a big disappointment.
Winner: Chris Jericho (Pinfall-Codebreaker **1/2)

So So show. Jericho winning does seem like a rarity these days, on top of RAW, but I get that he can lose over and over and still be over.

I wonder if they cut the Reks match short because he was bleeding so much, the ending was so abrupt.

They seemed really concerned about it with the ref immediately checking him out then standing between the camera and Rek's bloody face after the match.

No, I thought chris masters was a Superstars exclusive?

Posted By: gene (Guest)  on November 06, 2009 at 04:31 AM

Chris Masters has his moob flexing on RAW and before that he was a lumberjack in the ME so if anything Masters is RAW exclusive.

Shame you're missing the 3rd best weekly wrestling show.

Burchill winning is good news, though the match was just a 2 minutes showing to promote next week's Hurricane vs Burchill bout.

Burchill is awesome!!!
Katie Lee is smokin hot!!

Swagger vs Primo was pretty good. Both are very good wrestlers, Swagger World Champ material thou, Primo maybe in TNA.
Jericho vs Finley wasn't bad, expected more from those two.
