411's WWE Raw Report 11.16.09
Posted by Rob McNew on 11.16.2009
The Undertaker made a rare Raw appearance to tag with John Cena as they battled DX and JeriShow! Elsewhere, Roddy Piper hosted the show and challenged Vince McMahon, The Miz defended the US Title against MVP, Melina defended the Divas Title against Alicia Fox and more! Check out 411’s complete WWE Raw report for all the details!
-Tonight Raw heads back to the States and the world's most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, in the big apple. Tonight we see a huge triple threat tag team main event as Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & The Big Show face off with D-Generation X and the all-star team of John Cena and the Undertaker in a Survivor Series main event preview. We're also hosted by WWE Hall of Famer Rowdy Roddy Piper who always provides entertaining segments, so let's get to it.
-Live from Madison Square Garden in New York, NY
-Hosted by Michael Cole & Jerry "The King" Lawler
-Roddy Piper welcomes us from Piper's Pit along with actor Luis Guzman. He has a guest for Guzman as he is a chef, and introduces the Iron Chef Bobby Flay. Instead we get the Iron Sheik, who goes on a profanity free Sheik rant on Hulk Hogan. We finish up with a LIVE FROM NEW YORK ITS MONDAY NIGHT!
-The set for tonight's show is more along the lines of the MSG pay per views rather than the standard Raw set.
Chavo Guerrero vs. Santino Marella
Santino keeps up the theme of the night wearing a Rangers jersey to the ring. He takes off the Rangers sweater to reveal an Eli Manning jersey underneath. Next up a Knicks jersey, and then a Mark Sanchez jersey. Next up Santino reveals a Johan Santana jersey, and finally SWERVE a Phillies jersey. The crowd boos that, so last but not least it's a Yankees jersey. The Islanders are forgotten again. Chavo finally has had enough of these sheannigans, and delivers the three amigos to Santino. Chavo goes to the top rope for the Frog Splash, so Santino rolls across the ring. They repeat that spot two more times, and now here's Hornswoggle. He distracts Chavo long enough for Santino get a rollup victory at 2:48. I see what they were going for, but it misfired big time. Winner: Santino Marella (Pinfall-Rollup -**)
-DX are out now, and HHH starts by sucking up to the New Yorkers a little bit. HHH says they wanted to come out and do their normal schtick, but unfortunately it's not going to happen. Shawn says it's true, they're not going to let us know that on wweshop.com their book is available right now. HHH points them in the direction of a Borders book store adjacent to the building. HHH says instead they're going to talk about the triple threat match this Sunday. HHH says they've heard what Cena said about them turning on each other, but it's not going to happen. HHH says they're on the same page, and they're going to work together as a unit. He says it doesn't matter which one of them it is, as long as the belts are in DX. Shawn says it's not like they're going to compete with each other, as they surely will but you can't tear DX apart. Shawn says he has more important business to attend to, and that's a member of the Leprechaun community. HHH calls out Hornswoggle, and says this is America and even little people can live their dream. He says if Swoggle comes out now they'll consider allowing him in DX. Swoggle happily jumps in the ring with them, and crotch chops his way around the ring until HHH orders him to stop. HHH says if he wants to be in DX he has to get in line, and he asks if he's ready. That leads to the whole "Are You Ready?" spiel from Hunter, but he cuts it short and instead PEDIGREES HORNSWOGGLE. Crowd pleaded with HHH to do it, and then popped anyway which I'm not sure was the desired reaction. Shawn pulls a little stretcher out from under the ring, and carries the little guy away.
-Cool video package on MSG prominently featuring some of the great moments in the arena's history. No hiding from current TNA stars Hogan, Foley, and Angle either.
-Roddy Piper is still hanging out in Piper's Pit with the obligatory coconuts, before he is interrupted by Chris Jericho. Jericho starts complaining about the disrespect to him, but Piper just blows his nose in his face and says he's got something special for Jericho. He finds "Big Chris" (Masters) because he was so impressed by his dancing mobs two weeks. This week Masters does the pec flex to "Boom Boom Boom" by the Black Eyed Peas which impresses the Bellas and disgusts Jericho. This show is absurdly random tonight, but in a really good way thus far.
-"The Greatest Athlete in the World" Judah Friedlander from 30 Rock is out as guest ring announcer next, as this show continues to get more strange
-Roddy Piper comes out as Michael Cole gets ANOTHER Hulk Hogan mention in. This can't be by accident. Piper thanks the fans, and says he made his career on not being so nice. He says only New Yorkers would put up with that. He says he didn't do everything right, and he had some embarrassing moments right here in the ring. Piper says he took on Captain Lou, Bruno Sammartino, Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan (there's another one), and he says this is proof that if you mess with Hot Rod you're either going to be bald or dead. He says he loves them all, but mostly the dead ones. He then claims he's the reason Hogan has no hair. Piper says he did some unspeakable things, and loved every minute of it, but he has one more dirty deed before he checks out. He wants one more match with Vincent Kennedy McMahon. He says he knows Vince is a big fan of his, because when he did Real Sports with Bryant Gumble Vince fired him right here in this building. He says he knows Vince is back there, and that finally brings out the chairman. Vince exposes Piper's hair dye, and says he would suggest Piper did some awful things at MSG. He says the most heinous thing he ever did at MSG was show up here tonight. Vince says Mother Nature hasn't been too kind to Hot Rod, and asks when the last time he had his 100,000 mile checkup was. He says Piper still has the same skinny arms and legs, and his catcher's mit face. He says if he soiled his hands with Hot Rod his father and grandfather would be ashamed of him. Piper says there are plenty of things for us to be ashamed of Vince namely the suit that Mr. Gotti bought for him. Vince calls Piper "father time" and then says people tell him all the time they wish they could look as good as him when they're his age. He always responds they don't look better than him now, and that also applies to all of the superstars he's stepped in the ring with and beaten. He says unless he finds better competition he is officially retired from ring action. Piper says that's all the games he's going to play with him. He calls Vince a coward, and says he's been in 7,000 car crashes and 30 pro wrestling matches. He then says to reverse it around, and says he's not sane, he's been electrocuted, been in plane crashes, and has had cancer. He beat that, and he can beat Vince. He says for Vince to be accountable to the people who made him a billionaire. He says doesn't want this on pay per view, but instead he wants to do it tonight. He tells Vince he'll be back out tonight if Vince has the guts he'll retire him for good. Vince keeps babbling as they go to break, as someone had the sense to cut this off. Piper sounded drunk out there. Not good. Make that 7,001 car crashes.
-Sheamus says he's been on Raw on for four weeks, and he's already put one man out of the business. Tonight he's issuing an open challenge to anyone who has the guts to step in the ring with the Celtic Warrior. No one answers so he attacks the timekeeper randomly, and throws him across the announce table into the guardrail. That leads to what looks like the obligatory Jerry Lawler save, but it appears Sheamus has seen this episode before because he gives Lawler the big boot as soon as he stands up. Cole goes off mic to check on Lawler along with a host of officials and trainers.
-Matt Striker replaces Lawler (best trade up in history) as he "lives in New York City and was hear for the show"
-It should be noted we're closing in on 90 minutes in and we've had 8:12 of wrestling tonight. TNA Impact thinks that's bad.
Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger
Joined in progress out of the break with Bourne locked in a waistlock from Swagger. Bourne back elbows free, but Swagger delivers a clothesline to regain control. Swagger goes for a suplex, but Bourne knees his was into a counter and a rollup for two. Bourne hits a dropkick sending Swagger to the corner, and then delivers the double knee off the top rope for a two count. Bourne goes for a moonsault but gets caught by Swagger who drives him into both turnbuckles. Gutwrench powerbomb finishes for Swagger at 2:00. Much like all the wrestling tonight, far too short. Winner: Jack Swagger (Pinfall-Gutwrench Powerbomb *1/2)
-Roddy Piper awaits Mr. McMahon in the ring, but instead he is interrupted by Randy Orton. I knew something was missing tonight. Orton says he doesn't know if McMahon is coming out here or not, but he does know that Piper has a big problem because he is here. Orton says he can't think of a better way to relieve a little stress than to put him down right now. He attacks Piper with a kick to the gut, but Piper fights back with a cheap shot. That only serves to incense Orton who stomps Piper down. Piper who has apparently not watched much of Orton climbs to his knees, so Orton sets up for the punt. Orton goes to punt Piper, but he has to stop as it appears that the sound guy missed the cue to play Kofi's music for the save! EPIC TRAINWRECK. Kofi's music clearly starts AFTER Orton stops charging, and Orton even appears to visibly throw his hands up in the air in disgust as Kofi finally gets to the ring. That leads to a big brawl between Orton and Kingston which Orton gets the best of. Orton decides to set up Kofi for the punt, but Kofi explodes with a flying clothesline to go on the comeback trail. The brawl continues through the crowd, until FINALLY officials are out to break them up. The officials can't keep them apart though as Kofi chases Orton into the bleachers and dumps him over the railing into the production area. Kofi finally blasts Orton with a steel lid for the technical trunks busting Orton open. Kofi then tries to dive off the railing onto Orton, but officials pull him off. That's only temporary though as Kofi returns to deliver the boom drop off the guardrail through a production table to Orton. Horrible botch on the Piper Punt aside, everything after Kofi got to the ring was gold. Great segment.
-John Cena says New York is the home of the World's Most Famous Arena, and continues the bizarreness of the night with an over the top promo even by Cena standards. I can even recap this promo as it was just too ridiculous, and said basically nothing we haven't heard before.
-Jesse Ventura is the guest host next week for a special 3 hour Thanksgiving special
Triple Threat Tag Team Match: Chris Jericho & The Big Show vs. D-Generation X vs. John Cena & The Undertaker
Taker gets the druids for his entrance at 11:03 PM. We're obviously running long, couldn't we have cut the druids? By the time Taker actually gets to the ring its 11:06. Are we going to get updates during Robin Hood? Different rules than normal. Three guys are legal, and you can only tag your partner. Cena, Shawn, and Jericho start things off. Cena pushes both men off, and Jericho tags in Show. Shawn tags in HHH, so Cena obliges by tagging in Taker. HHH and Taker stare down, but turn their attention to Big Show and both attack. HHH hits a facebuster, and Taker clotheslines him out to the floor. HHH hits the ropes, but runs into a big boot from Taker who now has control. Taker delivers a series of rights, but runs into a spinebuster from HHH who tags in Shawn. We finally get a look back at their Match of the Year from April, as Taker goes for a tombstone after a skin the cat spot. Show saves with a spear on Taker, and then catches a Sweet Chin Music attempt from Shawn delivering a right hand. Jericho tags into the match and hits a running bulldog on Shawn which he follows with a lionsault attempt. Shawn tries to counter with the knees, but Jericho catches him and puts him in the Walls. Taker goes for the chokeslam, but Cena tags himself in and hits a running bulldog on Jericho. HHH tags in and sends Jericho for the ride running him into a sideslam from Cena. That leads to a staredown between HHH and Cena, and they trade blows before being met by Big Show. Show chokeslams both guys, but here comes Taker who delivers a flying clothesline off the ropes. Taker boots Show to the floor, and they go at it outside with Show whipping Taker into the guardrail. Jericho crawls inside to cover Cena for a two count, and Shawn is the only partner available for tag. He does make the tag, and delivers a flying forearm and inverted atomic drop to Jericho. Bodyslam from Shawn sets up the flying elbow drop, and now he tunes up the band. He goes for it on Cena, but the Champ ducks it and delivers a series of flying shoulderblocks. Protoplex from Cena is followed up by a five knuckle shuffle. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment, but HHH is able to make the tag and the save. High knee and facebuster from HHH connects on Cena, and he delivers a right hand to Jericho for good measure. HHH hits the spinebuster, and goes for the Pedigree but Show makes the save with a headbutt. Shawn is here to deliver the superkick to Show, but he walks into a codebreaker from Jericho. Here's Taker now with a chokeslam on Jericho, but he gets clotheslined to the floor by HHH. HHH turns around and there's Cena who hits the Attitude Adjustment on him picking up the victory at 7:06. After the match Cena's celebration is cut short by his own partner as Undertaker delivers a tombstone. Let the speculation begin. Did that just set the groundwork for a potential Wrestlemania XXVI main event? Fantastic main event. Probably one of the best seven minute matches you'll ever see. Winners: John Cena & The Undertaker (Cena pins HHH ***1/2)
-Very weird show this week. Some of it good, most of it not. Just over 17 minutes of wrestling in a show that was more than 2 hours long is pretty much unacceptable. The incredible main event may have salvaged this from being complete crap though. Piper was maybe the biggest letdown of all the guest hosts thus far.
The Orton/Kofi brawl and the awesome main event saved this show.

I had raw on the TV, cause there is no way i'm watching the Browns suck ass on MNF even though the score was like 0-0 at the half. Kofis beat down was awesome. The Main event was great. It saved the show. I like the Raw set.
The main event match moved pretty fast, it didn't have any luls? in the action. I liked how everyone in the match had some big history with each other. I liked how HBK took off his DX stuff when he was tagged in. That's great storyline stuff.
Please don't let Cena beat the Undertaker at WM XXVI. (assuming that's a match)

What a terrible Raw. Without a doubt the worst show I've seen in a long time. It seemed to be picking up a few weeks ago, but it's slipping fast now. I'm seriously thinking about giving up Raw and just sticking to Smackdown and ECW with a bit of TNA if the Hulkster doesn't fuck it up too much. Maybe he should be the boss of Raw, lets face it he couldn't make it much worse!

It felt like a PPV and it started off like one and then it kinda stalled til the Orton/Kofi brawl. Main event was awesome probably cuz the crowd was way into it. That Tombstone was fuckin awesome!! Now we can start the build to Cena/Taker at WM!!
Posted By: JBass24 (Guest) on November 16, 2009 at 11:31 PM
yea, piper was horrible... he did nothing to be an authority figure
Posted By: jeff (Guest) on November 16, 2009 at 11:32 PM
Cena to end the streak.
Posted By: Guest#6227 (Guest) on November 16, 2009 at 11:33 PM
People for god sake this is not a NEW raw set...they just went with the MSG PPV set for a raw! I am willing to put money on the fact that next week will look like every other raw since the switch to HD

We wish to wish Horswoggle the best in his future endeavors

That ME sucked balls. While I appreciate what they were trying to do, it was sloppier than drizzling shits and the parade of signature, tease, tease, finisher tease tease finisher was pretty lame.
Posted By: Guest#5473 (Guest) on November 16, 2009 at 11:38 PM
Kofi Kingston as a maineveter? I just don't see it.
Posted By: Guest#6613 (Guest) on November 16, 2009 at 11:39 PM
Kofi/Orton was awesome. Hope the really push Kofi!
Miz had great HEAT. Match wasn't that bad either. Miz IS AWESOME!
Santino vs Chavo...waste
Divas match wasn't that bad either. Everyone who reviews these always pisses over the Divas matches. It wasn't great, but come on. "Complete waste of time" You HOMO at least 1 and a half stars!
Swagger is great, beatdown after losing last week was needed. Future WWE Champ!
Most of the DX stuff was dumb, but Main Event was VERY GOOD. Taker looked dominate, everyone worked fast but hard.
PIPER vs Vince at WM! Book it.
Love Piper!

Why would anyone want to see that?

What happened to the Roddy Piper who cust all those great promos against Jericho earlier this year? I know he has been to hell and back with cancer and accidents/injuries, but I am not sure what he was doing as a host. Almost none of it made sense. It was a disappointment, but his legend still lives on and his legacy is still entact.
I loved the main event and I agree with Booker T that Cena should NOT beat The Undertaker at WM. I say this as a Cena fan. The streak deserves to remain unbroken!
I have been a Kofi fan since he debuted and tonight was fantastic! Once he dropped that silly accent, it all started coming together. Hopefully he can not only break into the main even, but stay there.
Oh, and the Pedigree on Hornswoggle was priceless! I don't hate the character like most seem to, but if this gets him off tv for a few weeks, HHH gets my thanks!

Cena to end the streak.

That would be an absolute travesty.

Great Raw tonight! Great atmosphere in the Garden and the main event was AWESOME!
Posted By: Phil (Guest) on November 16, 2009 at 11:44 PM
Oh the Undertaker has done it now. After CENA makes one of DX submit at SS. Beats the other one at the next PPV.
Then surprises EVERYONE and enters and wins the Rumble just so he can have a Title vs Title Match at WM26 and end the streak once and for all!
CENARULES! All you haters out there know it. Cena beats Taker, HHH, HBK, Orton, Jericho, Angle, Styles, Samoa Joe, WhoEver!!
Posted By: CENARULES (Guest) on November 16, 2009 at 11:46 PM
Just want to throw my hat in there and say that the Main Event of RAW tonight was awesome. With all the wrestlers playing off their histories with each other in subtle ways, it was just epic. I'd love to see the exact same match headline a PPV with like 15-20 minutes of time.
I ofcourse wondered if TAKER/CENA was a seed planted tonight for WMXXVI, as I'm sure many did. Not sure, but either way, I think the match would be ON FIRE with the audience and probably the biggest match they could come up with at this point. I'd love to see it, but I'd also love to see TAKER/JERICHO and BATISTA/CENA at Mania as well.
BATISTA/CENA never got it's sequel to the match that sidelined both guys for quite some time at Summerslam.
That rematch seems almost apparent, what with a real life storyline already in place. Strange that it hasn't happened yet. Not sure where I stand, but as long as TAKER faces either CENA or JERICHO, I'm happy. If not, then we'll have to see what they come up with.

Boy, first Striker gets off ECW to SD!, and now he's appearing on RAW! I hope he's on his way to permanently take over a seat on the RAW announce table... Anything to break apart the ass-pairing they got there now.
Posted By: Gahuha (Guest) on November 16, 2009 at 11:47 PM
I enjoyed RAW, it seemed like an late 90's sort of RAW. Remember, there wasn't really that much wrestling back then either.

Even if the Melina-Alicia match wasn't good it was still better that watching Mickie James fat it up in the ring.

Man i never come on here to complain. But comparing tonight's raw to last night's awesome Tna ppv. It just doesn't Compete. Right now Tna is better then Raw. I know I'm going to get blasted by the wwe smarks. But it is true. I turned off raw one hour early. And that's bad. Because i usually watch Raw every week. I've been enjoying Tna more then raw the past couple of weeks

Santino is Gold!!! He and Hornswoggle would be a great Jericho & Ralphus or Mick Foley & Socko... WWE needs to get Santino the WWE Title. Remember when WWE got the ratings back on their side, it was a comedy act like Mankind that did it. Santino is God like right now, and the E is wasting it. Just as Christian's Re Debut, amongst many other disappointing moments.

Roddy Piper was very entertaining. What are the rest of you on? He was the only highlight of the show. Everyone else...not so much.

Cena to end Takers streak at Mania yeah cmon 17 f@$#$%@n victories I dont see how a f@#$n loss could tarnish any starpower of the Taker, it could really give Cena or Jericho a push

Reading the play by play of the main event, I have no idea why anyone would pay $40 to see this PPV.
Posted By: Guest#4620 (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 12:33 AM
Almost 20 minutes before I couldn't stomache it anymore and had to change the channel. Haven't seen that much RAW in years.
Then I heard about the main event, tuned in and wow! I was floored! You people watch this garbage?
Posted By: elgrannoche (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 12:33 AM
I liked the RAW set, although I do hope it is just temporary. The show was pretty bad though. The only thing that saved it was the Kofi segment. I think a star was born tonight in Kofi. I can see him main eventing in a year or so. He was over and the crowd was hot. The main was good but far too short. Also, Piper was definitely hammered. That was my first thought once he started rambling about nothing.
Posted By: Tbone3771 (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 12:37 AM
We're killing off the midget character, and sure HHH is suppose to be a face, but he gets to kill of, or unmask, everyone on the roster...

Tremendous to see that piece of shit, unfunny dwarf get Pedigreed. Also great when that fan yelled at Trips' man-crush (Sheamus) to get a suntan.
Posted By: Mickie James' Gut (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 12:43 AM
I was live at the Garden tonight and I've gotta say that the crowd was one of the best I've ever been a part of. They were insanely hot all night. The main event was great, but the highlight was definitely the Kofi/Orton brawl.
About 70% of the crowd was firmly behind Orton at the beginning of the segment and booed everything that Kofi did. But by the time Kofi dropped that legdrop on Orton, the entire Garden was fully behind him. It was amazing to see 70% of the crowd go from shitting on Kofi to being in love with him after one segment. Phenomenal stuff.

Lawler carted off. Ventura is guest host next week.
Any chance Ventura does color commentary?
Posted By: Guest#7881 (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 12:47 AM
One way to make WWE better is if they just do away with the diva matches all together. There's one more segment per show you can use for people that could potentially help the company make money. Tonight's match was another dud, about the millionth in a row from the "smart, sexy and powerful" skanks.
Nobody cares about them anymore. Their an embarassment to the women of the past. Even the divas that can supposedly work suck a big one; I'm looking at you Melina "Tranny" Perez and Mickie "Horseface" James.
The only diva I ever want to see on my TV again is when Trish makes her yearly cameo. That face, that brunette hair, that smile, that ass. Schwing!!

I wasn't sure what time it was on but the piper segment was on when I turned it on, I thought it was the start of the show. Needless to say I thought the show was lackluster and never really took off from what I saw. Kofi is really getting over so that really nice to see, he must be thanking Orton.
The main event was fun and I hope we get a taker/cena match at WM.

I think Melina is doing a pretty good job of that on her own. Why they continue to push her when nobody cares about her is beyond me. Even Jillian would be a better champion. She gets cheap heat, but at least it's a reaction.
It's sad to say, but there are only two women in WWE right now that would look credible as a champion. Beth Phoenix is one of them, and hopefully she will dethrone McCool in the near future.
The other one is Maryse. I'm not even a big fan of hers, but I will admit that the Divas belt looked natural on her.

A few thoughts...
- I want to see Kofi vs RVD someday
- Cena - Taker would be a terrible wrestling match, but in a Cena-style all-over-the-arena overbooked type match, it might work.
- TNA wants to be the top wrestling company in the US. WWE wants to be a mainstream entertainment company.

If the WWE wonders why their revenues, talent strength and overall product goes and has been going down... look at the BIGGEST RAW event... (tonight) and realize why you suck. Firstly, you have a match with your current top six draws and their enterances are longer then the actual match... wtf... Cena and Taker at WM26, only if you give us a McMahon v CMPunk otherwise save the rubs for later.
Second you have a US Championship match between two young and almost there stars and what do you give them... the opportunity to talk and pump up the crowd to kill one wrestler's momentum (which truly needs to be allowed to build up) and make a champion have a short match, making him incapible of keeping a match going... build characters, but also build confidence in the wrestler and match-ups. There is no reason MVP shouldn't be a top star and there is no reason you can't let the ever improving Miz have ring time.
SAME GOES FOR Swagger and Bourne... Bourne can move up in the WWE and Swagger has everything on point for the next big move up.
Chavo Guerrero vs. Santino Marella was the third issue... Santino is over as a funny face and is talented and he's in the ring with one of the best pure wrestlers on the brand... where is the good old face in peril match with the stronger wrestling heel carrying the match to he land of multiple stars. Chavo is like a smaller less sexier Rick Rude and Santino is a character like Warrior but he can wrestle and those two pulled out 3star matches and I know these two can.
Fourth WHY EVEN HAVE WOMEN WRESTLING IF THEY CAN'T LAST LONGER THEN 2 MINUTES? (Maybe they are on for the young males jerking... two minutes... I get it vince)
What would really interest me with the dynamics would be the following:
HBK beats Cena... HBK can hold the title for a while to freshen things up... allow for maybe a royal Rumble show down with Taker since neither would be in the rumble. (lets hope)
If it is McMahon V Taker... (it may end up being good if spots are thrown in) and McMahon does well in street fights.
CM Punk wins the Rumble for a shot at Cena... using the whole why do I have to be like that to be champ... lol ATLEAST NEITHER WILL FAIL TESTS AND MISS MANIA

Posted By: mentalist (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 02:27 AM
I tried to like the show, since it was in MSG, and had a very old school look to it and had the atmosphere of being an epic RAW. But with the exception of MVP/Miz, Santino's hilarity (I hate baseball but found that funny), Kofi/Orton brawl, Swagger's awesome All American Bomb, and the Main Event everything was rather dull.
Main Event was the biggest let down. But at least HHH got PINNED for only the third time this year!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted By: Klossing (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 02:40 AM
Santino is Gold!!! He and Hornswoggle would be a great Jericho & Ralphus or Mick Foley & Socko... WWE needs to get Santino the WWE Title. Remember when WWE got the ratings back on their side, it was a comedy act like Mankind that did it. Santino is God like right now, and the E is wasting it. Just as Christian's Re Debut, amongst many other disappointing moments.

Melina is ugly, looks like a man and is highly overrated in the ring. Had some good matches only because she had a Beth Phoenix or Michelle McCool in their to carry her.
WHY oh why does Vince think she's hot though? She's the worst looking Diva there is. Please scrap this joke of a belt. Let Beth and Natalya feud and that'd be the only feud I'd care about now.

Wow, the Piper / Orton / Kofi segment could have been great (even with the botch) but the announcers killed it with their jabbering.
If they had shut the hell up, it would have added to the drama for the home viewer (like when Show/Mayweather originally squared off).

It's good that you watch wrestling just to shit on everything they produce just so you can feel good about yourself when something goes the way you say it will...what about all the times that it may go the opposite of what you think? do you swallow your pride and admit being wrong? probably not....you seem a little scorned that Vince ruined your childhood or something.....maybe you should just chill the fuck out and enjoy yourself....or just stop watching

Ya know I liked the change for the entrance ramp/area. It had a more "intimate" feel to it - even with 20k people.
I actually wish they would do the side entrance where the guys would walk that long isle... it just seemed to add something back in the day.
Posted By: Guest#1922 (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 11:06 AM
That botch with the punt was pretty bad. Orton stalling, looking at the entrance way, and then actually throwing his arms in the air made it that much worse. I'm guessing a production crew member just got fired.
What followed was top shelf though. Kofi is going nowhere but up. I just really, really hope that they don't go the super baby face route with him, although no doubt that's where their headed. It seems they've all but forgotten how to maintain a face with an edge.
Posted By: Zipper (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 11:39 AM
As I prophesized a few weeks ago, Cena beats Orton to finish the rivalry. This will eventually lead to a feud with Undertaker concluding at Wrestlemania were Cena will end the streak and allow Undertaker to finall retired with as much fanfare as possible.
As I have propounded, so has it begun.

Would you prefer that Triple H become a jobber? He doesn't lose often because he's a top star. He got pinned by Cena last night so Cena could get his win back from about a month ago when it was if Cena lost his match against Orton he would have to leave Raw, and his potential last match on Raw was against Triple H and he beat Cena after two, maybe three, pedigrees. Triple H remains a stop star because he puts asses in seats and if he did the job too often he'd be a jobber and wouldn't be able to put over other wrestlers when they beat him. Triple H has earned his spot.

When Hornswoggle came out during the DX segment and was running around the ring grunting and doing his schtick, I wanted to shoot my television.I thought, "Are they ever going to get rid of this guy?" "Why ruin a segment with two top guys with flippin' circus act Hornswoggle?", I wondered. I really didn't see it coming when Triple H KICK-WHAMMED Hornswoggle in the gut and hooked him up for the Pedigree, but when he did, I was yelling at Triple H to DO IT, DO IT, DO IT, DO IT,. The look on H's face helped to sell it. It was great. Let's all collectively pray that Hornswoggle stays off tv for good. Can someone make a video loop of Hornswoggle getting Pedigreed ?

The first half wa sugh, the second half was fuckin' awesome. I understand they stepped it up with MSG, but why can't they be this great every week?
The lack of build involving MVP/Henry and Legacy was curious.
Holy shit, was that brawl between Orton and Kofi great or what? Reminded me of Attitude-era stuff. This really makes Kofi look like a main event player.
Main event was pretty sweet too. However, I have a feeling they won't doing a Cena-UT match like we're thinking.
Crowd was hot and in their usual smark mode booing Cena. Wish they'd keep that set regularly/.
Oh yeah, why a Nickelback song of all things?I'd rather the old one at least than that.

I still want my Piper/McMahon streetfight damn it!. Piper should come out next week and demand his match again. And keep doing it, challenging and raising the stakes all the way to Wrestlemania. But more likely scenario, matter will be dropped and never mentioned again. Piper was on and off last night, but even an uneven Piper is better than most of the roster on the mic. Hope they didn't fly Guzman in for that 20 second opening. Show was entertaining for what it was, not a lot of wrestling time and the main event seemed way to rushed to be considered all that good of a match. Best part was the Michaels taking off the DX gear, that was greatness. Again, I still want my streetfight, backlot brawl style...

The big shame was that the crowd seemed up for the matches. They had the chance to have a one time massive main event and completely fastforwarded it. With Taker maybe retiring, you'll probably never see these 6 guys in the ring together again.
Positives - Kofi Kingston and Orton old school brawl. I disagree with some. This guy should be a main eventer within a year. The crowd was hot for him. He's probably the biggest contender to win Money in the Bank.
Sheamus beating the piss out of the timekeeper. I've not seen someone randomly attack a guy in the bell corner in ages. Get him in a program with someone who'll put him over (ie HBK), otherwise Cena & HHH will have him berried in a month.

I have to laugh with all this attempted Kofi bashing. People complain that the WWE doesn't build new stars yet when they do people complain. Kofi and Orton have both been on point s far in this feud and in all honesty are the best thing on RAW right now. Not that that's saying a ton because RAW is awful but you get the point. The brawl last night was great and for all of you that are complaining, did you not hear the reaction for him in MSG? Not everyone gets a pop like that in the Garden so I'm going to go out on a limb and say the guy has some potential.
Posted By: Flying Dutchman (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 07:32 PM
Short matches suck. If they're going to use two "name" guys they should give them at least ten minutes. Otherwise they should just bring back jobbers. How are we supposed to take guys like MVP and Bourne seriously when they get pinned in three minutes? That main-event needed more time two. This is exactly why I don't go to Raw. I like wrestling matches that have enough time to develop a story, not spot exhibitions that can't compete time-wise with the entrances that precede them.

For the first time ever, we got a logical working of a triple threat tag match. Why would a triple threat match have 3 guys in the ring at once while (until now) a triple threat tag only had two. Oh, and I love Roddy Piper but I think it's time to go...

The entrance for the main events started at 6 minutes before the hour, and ended at 1 minuted passed the hour the match ended at 8 minute passed the hour. ebtrances were as long (with a commercial break) as the match itself. Pretty funny how people are saying how awesome it was.
Kofi, I will believe it when I see it. Remember when another guy came to RAW got a few shots at Orton and is now a jobber tag team guy? He happened to be black as well. Coincidence or not it seems like they are throwing every (what few there are) black guy they have at Orton. Well I am sure shelton Benjamin is hoping for Kofi to get injured or fail.
At least they didnt both the leg drop. that punt was pretty hilarious though. Almost diva-esque. But I have to say it was slightly better than the past few shows, but seriously it couldn't do any worse.
But you have a 130 minute show with 15 minutes of wrestling. They at least now say it is ending at 5 past the hours (and usually goes to 8 or 9) BUt eventually it will be 10 past the hour go to 15 past and you'll have 2 hours of promos and commercials and 15 minutes of 'action'. It is only 7 minutes short of that right now. Yet the people on here think this show continually delivers. Tivo it sometimes or DVR it. Then see how long it actually takes to watch stuff that isn't a recap of last week or SD or ECW, and skip all the PPV promos. Even if you watch the stuff that isn't a commercial or repeats it is maybe 30 minutes total. So at least they keep the drama to a 'minimum'.
The other main issue is we already know where it is leading, the only thing right now is we definitely don't know the results. But give it a couple days before the show and we will even know that.

Wow what a bunch of mindless, hypocritical, inbred sheep. 17 yes 17!!! minutes of wrestling and you morons are praising this RAW? Oh yea cus it was so cool right? You idiots don't realize that Kofi (as much as I like him) is just flavor of the month and he'll be thrown into midcard like Carlito, Shelton, CM Punk, Jomo and everyone else. You people or should I say kids are pathetic, praising a show when it only had 17 minutes of wrestling in total, sad really.

Cena is going to defeat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. WWE is obsessed with their "classic" moments and Cena pinning Undertaker is the only thing they can do right now that will come even close to Hogan slamming Andre. Then that's it for the moment, there aren't anymore long term angles to pay off and the writing staff is going to have to either smarten up or let the product permenantly sail away on a sea of mindless matches that build from one ppv to the next, three weeks away.

I agree with WWE PG kids suck. Why get excited over a piece of crap show? And face it folks that's what WWE is anymore. It's mindless excrement. Kofi Kingston. Who gives a shit? He IS flavor of the month. And Cetard of course will beat the Undertaker in a predicatable WM main event. And wwe sheep are the smae mindless assclowns who praise Vickie Guererro, and the smart people know she's a lousy actress. WWE is so idiotic that it isnt even WORTH marking out to, and trust me folks, that's Sad. PG sucks, the product sucks and the fans who follow this bullshit week in and week out suck as well.

Same e-tard horseshit, same e-tard channel. Like I've been saying for years, talk to me in 6 months when the flavour of the season is a jobber again (I'd say unemployed but he's a minority and minorities keep their jobs much easier in the chumfest that is the Fed).

Yeah, you're looking for attention. So I'll humor you. Are you're saying that Mark Henry, Shelton, MVP or Kofi don't have a place in the company?
Hell, Elijah Burke was let go when it was OBVIOUS that he had the look and what it took. Actually I find it funny that they push Kofi but they didn't push Burke when Burke is actually better than Kofi in every aspect except for being able to jump out of the building....
So besides Ronnie Mack, what black wrestlers were hired that should have been fired? (Mack was actually not bad) What white wrestlers were fired that should have stayed instead of a black wrestler?
