> Still hungover from all that food and today's epic UFL Championship game? No problem. This Smackdown review has all of the goodness you missed from the last Smackdown of November. I imagine you clicked this article to read the recap, so let‘s get straight to that.
> Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are again our announcers. They begin with discussion regarding the night's festivities. That includes a number one contender's match between Kane and Batista.
> Chris Jericho is out to start the show. Striker reminds us of the DX-Jerishow match scheduled for Tables, Ladders and Chairs. Jericho leads off with a bunch of large words, he then transitions into some TLC hype. Y2J pimps his TLC experience while pointing out that DX has never participated in such a match. He then goes into a rant about the lack of respect shown for him. Jericho wants to know why he isn't in the number one contenders match.
This brings out the general manager, Teddy Long. Jericho says Long should give him whatever he wants. Long grants Jericho a non-title match with the Undertaker.
> Graphic for the Taker-Jericho match.

But apparently Matt Hardy doesn't. His music hits the arena and he makes his way to the ring. Hardy says that Punk forgot Jeff is a free spirit. Festus!?!?

Mickie might not be that fat, but something that really stood out to me tonight: she's really ugly. I noticed that much more tonight, as I hadn't seen her up close like that in a long time. You guys that continue to overrate her so much really need to go out and get laid, or at the very least leave the basement and go see what a really attractive woman looks like.
Oh yeah, and she can't act at all. Her promo skills suck, and I'm convinced that her tears during the "Piggy James" segment were real. You know why? Because just the week before that, when McCool was tearing up her clothes, she gave one of the funniest "acting" performances I have ever seen from a wrestler. She looked like a fool. Her acting in the pig segment was worthy of an Oscar by comparison, if she was acting. I doubt she suddenly got 1,000,000 better in one week.
Either way, the way they are booking her, and the way she is performing in this angle, is really killing whatever credibility she had left. McCool, as dull as she is, has been the more entertaining wrestler in this mini feud. Mickie goes from talking tough, to crying like a moron, in the span of two weeks.
If the fans actually cared about the divas, I wouldn't be surprised to hear them make fun of Mickie and/or boo her in the eventual match between them. Here's hoping this "I won't leave Smackdown" crap is in fact the way they are going to write her out of WWE, as she's been teasing retirement for a long time now. I'd love to see her and Melina both leave, as they have both done horrible jobs as the supposed "top two" divas in the company. They are like the poor man's version of Trish and Lita, except not nearly as good as them in any category. Time for some new blood.

Festus now has something to do. He actually has a half-decent image now. He's not bad in the ring so maybe it's a good thing pairing him with Punk, I had a feeling he would have been released sometime this year.
It took a week for Mickie to address that 'situation' with McCool and Layla with a 20 second interview. And they HAD to re-play McCool's bad singing from last week.

Batista and Kane put on a pretty decent match tonight ^_^ and John Morrison's pyro is awesome! I wish they wouldn't do Jomo's entrance in slo-mo at least once so we can see it in real time.

First of to guest number 5 whatever dude TAKE A FUCKING CHILL PILL! Second, looks like Boretista whined and moaned his way to YET ANOTHER title shot!Thirdly, Im probably the ONLY person who is sick to death of Vickie. I mean when she left television not too long ago I was happy because her character has been stale for so long now, and yet what do the assclowns at Titan do? They bring her back. Seriously anyone who is even a fan of this sow must be a glutton for punishment or just a complete idiot (I vote for the latter).

well at least they can explain away Festus being a retard by saying that drugs made him that way. Festus has escaped typecast jobberdom that Nick 'Eugene' Dinsmore has fallen into.

Stale? She gets more boos than anyone else on either roster.

I am hoping that CM Punk will get the title back and have a solid run. Mickie James could be released and I would not care. She was vs Trish, but Stratus carried her. Vickie ok she can get heat, but it is too soon to bring her back.

What the hell are you talking about? Lita was always CRAP unless she was in the ring with Trish Stratus.
Seriously, some of the posts on 411 show that the credibility of the posters on here, have very little of it.

You're credibility just went down the drain when you mentioned guys should go see what an attactive woman looks like. It's ppl like you who give woman and men a bad name,i'm all for opinions but the fact is,you're trying too hard to sound intelligent with this post of your's. If you think Mickie and Melina are so terrible, why don't you go and put on a pair of boots and try and wrestle, and I'll gladly laugh my ass off and watch you fail. I'm sick and tired of ppl reminiscing about the good old days. News flash Trish&Lita are NOT coming back,in fact they would be out of place now a days,I love them both to death but they're time has come and gone. Perhaps I'm a little biased because I am a fan of Mickie, but you're post comes across as Ignorant.
Mickie has done more in 10 years in wrestling then you will in your miserable little life, and if she came to your door, their is no doubt in my mind, you'd grow an errection the second you saw her.
So until you can do it yourself,I suggest you grow up and hush.

Did anyone else in the UK (or possibly even in the US?) get treated to a weird edit of the show in which Smackdown ended, and then the IC title match came on after the break like they'd suddenly just realised they hadn't included it?

Get Punk back in the championship picture and do it quick! I do not want to see another Taker/Batista match.

Festus(or who he is now)is dressing so much better.
And really,I'd prefer Kane,Jericho or Punk to have the belt instead of (possibly) Batista, but that's just me.

I think if he recruited Mickie James it'd be great as he could tear everyone apart for calling her fat.
Now granted, so far on TV it's just a few heel divas doing this but tell me the whole "Mickie James is fat" thing isn't made for CM Punk to attack people on...

I like Smackdown RAW and WWE about as much as I like having bamboo splinters shoved up my fingernails.

Oh my, these type of comments are my favorite...the guys that actually believe this shit that they say! I'm not denying this guy may or may not get laid...but to act like some guy wouldn't be insanely lucky to get with Mickie James is absurd! You honestly believe you get girls more gorgeous than her? I'd love to know what biker bar you go to

Why do you guys even respond to the Mickie haters? Your responses are just as pathetic, if not moreso. A guy says she's ugly, and you say he would "faint" if she came to his door. Why? I'm not a fan of her, and I'm not a hater of her, but I can honestly say that she is nothing special in the looks department.
But the long rant did have one good point: Mickie and Melina suck. Or, maybe I should say they suck if they are supposed to be the top two divas. Melina isn't even over, and Mickie has lost all of her appeal to many people. You act like they have been carrying the women for the past few years, when the fact is the division has died with them on top. The reason people are so nostalgic for Trish and Lita is because they actually made people care. I actually bought them as stars, especially Trish. They were not just a bathroom break, they actually contributed to the show. Do I have to remind you they actually main evented Raw once, by themselves? That's how big they were. Mickie and Melina can just fuck off at this point. Let Beth kill a couple of bitches and be done with it.

Lets face it marks smarks casual fans all loved or respected Eddie Guerrero but there comes a point. Parading his fat talentless wife out every week to make out with some wrestler is pissing on his grave more than anything else they have done. I hate Vickie Guerrero by booing her that makes the office think she is a good heel it is more like please get her out of this arena and off my tv. Her screaming crying or that god awful celebration last week is unbearable. I cant stand her making out with Show Edge Escobar or anyone else not because she is Eddie's widow but because she is so nasty and no one would like her for her looks or personality. I will stop watching once she takes Teddy Longs job again and her and Edge rule SmackDown because A It has been done to death B It is Staler than Orton/HHH/Cena Combos because they produce actual good matches. C Teddy Long is really good in his role and he goes on the road to do houseshows which Fat Ass Vickie Cant. D Edge as a heel is stale and he already has a face feud with Jericho but they will forget that to retread this tired storyline. Watch how they overate it on the SMackdown DVD. E Heel GM's are even more stale get me a pillow, if you want 2002 storylines bring back planet stasiak reverend Dvon, Self help Guru DDP or BookDust. F I dont want another storyline where Vickie gets injured so her fat ass gets pushed around by a more talented wrestler ie Chavo or Edge or even Zach Ryder Simply because her 390 pound frame cant take walking down a ramp. IT IS NOT HEEL HEAT WE LEGITAMATELY HATE THIS WOMEN.

Word on Mickie/Melina. How can any of you defend them as the top two divas? They aren't Trish and Lita, not even close. That isn't me being nostalgic or anything. I love Trish, but always hated Lita, especially as a face. But I know what I see and hear. WWE can try and push Mickie and Melina as the new version of them, but the crowd isn't buying it. Their matches get no reaction at all. When they were the last two standing at Survivor Series, it was hilarious watching them play up to the crowd, who were completley silent. Wow, they are so over.... or not.
Maryse, who never got any reactions before, got a face pop when she beat the crap out of Melina on Raw. And according to live reports, alot of people were laughing during the "Piggy James" segment. They didn't boo, or cheer for Mickie. They laughed. People cared about Trish and Lita. They don't care about Mickie and Melina. That's just the truth, no rose tinted glasses here.

Not trying to be an internet smark. Has Kane EVER beaten Batista one-on-one? Just asking, because it seems like Batista would have nothing to be apprehensive about...
Nope. Never. Not even when Batista was a WWE rookie. I think he's lost every match except against him except for one or maybe two no contests. Unless you count in OVW.

SD ! was great till Meth Hardy left for ruining his life again and a still injured and obviously washed up Dead Man took his spot to BURY the young champ and freshly new main eventer....
And now what we're getting for the billion times ?
Ah yes Taker vs Botchista
Hope both will end up injure for a year so they will have NO choice but to push new guys to the top (or a still in his prime and giga talented/over one like Jericho...)

I'm sick and tired of ppl reminiscing about the good old days. News flash Trish&Lita are NOT coming back,in fact they would be out of place now a days,I love them both to death but they're time has come and gone. Perhaps I'm a little biased because I am a fan of Mickie, but you're post comes across as Ignorant.

the casual fans ONLY CARE ABOUT MICKIE AND MELINA.Why do you think they're the only ones who were left standing at SS?Why do you think they're the only one who get the biggest divas pop? When both Mickie and Melina leave the division will suck and you idiots are going to be begging for them to be back.

Two E tards, in the flesh. I'll address both of you indiviually. Callan, I agree with you about Trish and Lita. They would be out of place nowadays. That's because they aren't generic and boring enough to fit in with the current women. Honestly, I don't want them to come back either. Just like I don't want to see Rock and Austin ever come back. I don't want to see my favorites from the Attitude Era ruined by being associated with this current era of suck.
And as for you peter, you need to take a good look at the current diva division. It fucking sucks RIGHT NOW, with Mickie and Melina around. Nobody gives a shit about Melina, and Mickie is only slightly more popular(she gets a slight reaction, as opposed to none). You will not have people "beggin" for them to return. Shit, I would love for WWE to release both of them right now. Dump the women titles, and keep the pretty ones as managers and backstage interviewers. The ones that can work can try and sign with TNA.

We all know how good Punk is at getting HIMSELF over as a heel, lets see if he can actually help someone else.

I'm laughing my ass of at the sheep for saying "they arent Trish or Lita". Trish, granted...but LITA??? The woman who...if she wasnt injuring her opponents in matches, she was injuring herself. The woman who was HATED by the Internet Community for being a whore, a cheat, a bitch, a liar. Now sunddenly shes mentioned in the same sentence as TRISH??? My god, I know wrestling fans have short memories but this is taking the piss. Its funny how Nostalgia makes people remembers things as better than they actually were. Lita was good when she fought Trish. Any other time she was terrible and Mickie and Melina could wrestle circles around her.
Posted By: Guest#9925 (Guest) on November 29, 2009 at 10:21 AM
OK, really. I was kinda hopeful that in Batista we'd FINALLY have a heel who wasn't just another chickenshit. You know, Kane-like as heel, that he'd just fucking kill people dead. But no, now 'tista runs around with a chair getting countout wins on... Kane.
Woe is me.

I agree that Lita sucked as a wrestler. But I think the reason she's always linked with Trish is because they are no doubt the two most popular women WWE has had this decade. I think Trish blows her out of the water in every category, especially star power, but Lita was a huge part of making Trish's career what it was. I think the nostalgia is for the days when we had women that actually had charisma and actually got the crowd to care. Also-rans like Mickie and Melina are not getting the job done. They are also very overrated in the ring; Mickie does the same lazy moves every single match, with no enthusiasm. And Melina botches half the stuff she tries. So I think Lita deserves respect, even if it's just for her popularity, because none of the current women come close.

Eric Escobar.......future endeavors?

Here's to bringing back Eugene in a similar fashio and explanation as Festus.
And to the guy calling Mickie James ugly, you need to stop looking at photoshopped pictures of "models" on the internet and look at a real person once in a while before you start telling other people they need to get laid.
As for her wrestling? It has seemed to go downhill rapidly in the last year. I can't argue that (and Melina's been boring ever since she went face). The women's division needs a big shake-up.
