411’s WWE Raw Report 11.30.09
Posted by Rob McNew on 11.30.2009
DX stands tall at the end of Raw, and will face Chris Jericho in a handicap match next week! Elsewhere, Verne Troyer hosted the show, Mark Henry defeated the Miz, Legacy beats down Kofi Kingston while Randy Orton finished him off and more! Check out 411’s WWE Raw report for all the details!
-Tonight Verne Troyer of Austin Powers fame hosts what is sure to be a fun little edition of Monday Night Raw. Hornswoggle has served D-Generation X with a lawsuit that will be decided in "Little People's Court." Elsewhere Sheamus was named number one contender to John Cena's WWE Title last week and served notice that he won't be a pushover. How will the champion respond? Let's find out.
-Live from 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD
-Hosted by Michael Cole & Jerry "The King" Lawler
-Jerishow is out to start the program off with a promo. Jericho says they are here to clear up some misconceptions. Jericho wants to clear up the fallacy that we all believe DX to be the greatest tag team of all time. He says there are going to clear up rumors, and expose DX right now. Jericho says the first fact is that they have been Tag Team Champions for over four months. Jericho says they won the titles in the first night of their existence while DX has been together since 1997 and have never won Tag Team Gold. Show says fact number two is that DX are frauds. He says when it comes to historic wins they can't compare to Jerishow. When they destroy DX at TLC they're merchandise, like DX, will become useless outdated garbage. Show says fact number three is there are 42 championships between them combined. Jericho is the first ever Undisputed World Champion while Show is the only man to hold WWE, WCW, and ECW World Titles. Jericho says they can't be beat, and that becomes even more pronounced in a TLC match. Show says his fist is the most dangerous fist in the business, and even steals a page from Jericho's book calling the fans sycophants. He tells HHH and Shawn that his fist will be the last thing they see before they slip into a deep coma. Jericho says fact four is that they have never been into a TLC match, and they don't know what they're getting into. Finally DX has heard enough, and are out for a retort. HHH says they forgot to list fact number 32, and that is that they are boring us to death. HHH says they keep obsessing about the fact that they've never been tag team champions, but the problem is that even though Jerishow is Tag Team Champions no one gives a crap about them. He says DX makes history, and have been at the forefront of every revolution in this industry for the past 10 years. HBK says in two weeks DX is going to once again make history by being in their first ever TLC match, and also becoming Tag Team Champions for the first time ever. Shawn says there is a little added bonus, and that is that they not only become Tag Team Champions but they run Jericho off of Raw. HHH reminds him that the only reason he's here is because of those belts, and they're going to make sure in two weeks that they don't have to listen to him whine anymore. Jericho points out (accurately in my opinion) that Raw is nothing without him, and if he leaves the ratings will go in the toilet. He says they can gloss over it all they want, but he knows that it drives them crazy that they're not Tag Team Champions. He tells them to face the facts that they are better than them. He says they've teamed for twelve years, but they couldn't accomplish what Jericho and Show accomplished in one night. Jericho says they're better than them, and that's not going to change. HHH lets Jericho know that two weeks can't come fast enough for him, and since he's only got two weeks left on Raw he wants Jericho tonight. Jericho confers with Show, and then accepts the challenge on one condition. Show says if Jericho loses he'll face DX in a handicap match next week, but if Jericho wins its HHH vs. Jerishow. Jericho takes their lack of an answer as a yes, and then tells them he's got four words for them. "I'm never leaving Raw."
Melina & Gail Kim vs. Maryse & Jillian Hall
Josh Mathews catches up with Maryse on her way to the ring where she says there was nothing else to do when someone is holding her Diva's Title. She only provided the Trojan Horse, and Melina was simply the turkey. Melina and Maryse start off, but Maryse tags out quickly and Jillian gets a rollup for two. Melina comes back with a monkeyflip and tags in to Gail who comes of the top rope with a crossbody. Maryse breaks up the count, and Jillian delivers a side slam. Handspring elbow from Jillian gets two, and she follows up with a biel by the hair. Tag to Maryse who trash talks Gail a bit too much, and that earns her a neckbreaker. Gail tags out to Melina who is in with a clothesline and kick to the side of the head. Spear from Melina connects, and Jillian gets met with a clothesline from Gail Kim as they fight to the floor. Melina tries for a sunset flip in the corner, but it is blocked by Maryse. Maryse comes back with a DDT which finishes Melina off at 2:54. Not terrible at all surprisingly. Winner: Maryse & Jillian Hall (Maryse pins Melina-DDT *1/2)
Sheamus vs. Santino Marella
Sheamus says last week John Cena asked why he should take him seriously. His answer was putting him through a table. He says he doesn't have to pin Cena or make him submit even though he can. He only has to put him through a table, and he's already done it once. When it happens he will be the new WWE Champion, and Cena will take him seriously. Santino comes out as Sheamus's opponent exposing a huge problem. The comedy jobber is far more over than the WWE Title Challenger. Santino says he must be very focused on his big match with John "Cheyna." He says he never mentioned him one time, and says it's obvious that Sheamus is jealous because he has skin pigmentation. Then he says he figured out he's worried Santino is going to take his Lucky Charms. He says maybe he's scared of Santino because he heard of his two Intercontinental Titles. Finally Sheamus has heard enough, and he proceeds to do what Stevie Wonder could have seen coming. A complete and utter annihilation of Santino. He finishes him off before the bell even rings with a jumping big boot and Razors Edge. Then he grabs a table from underneath the ring, and then sets it up in the corner. He proceeds to spear Santino through it. Smattering of boos mixed with complete indifference from the crowd as this push is already hitting mega fail territory. No Match
-Jerishow runs into Verne Troyer in the back, and Troyer shakes hands with Show but ignores Jericho. Jericho gets all indignant about being disrespected again and storms off. You know I never really noticed how small Troyer actually is. He makes Hornswoggle look like Andre The Giant.
-Verne Troyer is out on a stool on the stage, and he says when he saw his friend Seth Green hosting Raw he thought it would be just really swell to try it for himself. He says when he was at Summerslam he met everyone from WWE and they were all great except for the Miz. That thankfully brings out Miz to save this segment in record time. Miz says he didn't remember seeing Verne at the party, and if he thought he was annoying and inconsiderate at the party he wants to apologize. He says wants to make it up to him, and goes into a really good Austin Powers impression finishing up by saying he'd call him "Mini-Miz." Troyer says he'd imitate Miz, but he's never been in any movies which is funny because they already made Jackass 1 and 2. Miz threatens to use Troyer as a football and kick a field goal, but Mark Henry is out to make the save. Miz calls him the World's Blandest Man, and makes the obligatory Fat Bastard joke. Troyer goes ahead and books Henry vs. Miz for tonight. This was brutal.
Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton
Kofi is on his way to the ring for his match when he is attacked by Cody Rhodes and thrown into the ringsteps. The ref asks him he still wants to go, and he answers in the affirmative so Orton's music hits. Dibiase attacks from behind though with a chop block, and drives Kofi's knee into the apron. The ref again asks Kofi if he can go, and he still wants to wrestle despite the injury. That brings Orton out and the match begins with Orton immediately going to work on the injury. Orton drags Kofi to the apron and drops his knee on the apron which is followed up by wrapping it around the ringpost. Randy continues the assault with a slingshot sending Kofi's throat into the bottom rope. Orton stomps Kofi in the corner, but Kofi tries to fight back out of the corner. Orton has had enough of that though, and hits an RKO out of nowhere to finish at 3:53. More of an angle than a match. Merely a vehicle to continue the feud. After the match Orton puts Kofi on the top rope, and delivers a hangman's DDT. Winner: Randy Orton (Pinfall-RKO *)
-MVP is playing Smackdown vs. Raw with Verne Troyer, and Jillian stops by to ask permission to sing a song tonight. MVP says he figured out a way to prove Miz wrong, and show that he has a personality. MVP tells Jillian to sing, and then tells Henry to dance. Henry gets down, but ends up losing his balance falling on Jillian crushing her. Verne thinks she's dead, but he shrugs it off and goes back to playing the video game.
-John Cena is out and he is ANGRY. He says last week Sheamus put him through a table to make a statement, but he says Sheamus hasn't won anything yet. He says as the Champion even if Sheamus does beat him he is entitled to a rematch, and if does need that rematch he will use it at TLC. He says tonight we go to war, and tonight it will be Sheamus vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship. That brings out…Carlito?!?! Wow, most random interruption ever. Carlito says he doesn't even know Sheamus, and he doesn't like Sheamus, but he likes what he's represents. He says there is a whole locker room of superstars that hopes Sheamus beats him at TLC. He says its not just Raw, but Smackdown and ECW too. He says they're tired of him. They're tired of John Cena hogging the spotlight. Carlito says Sheamus is going to do to Cena what they all want to do him. Put him through a table, and become the new Champion. Carlito says Cena may represent the people, but Sheamus represents (the wrestlers). He says at TLC Cena's reign as Champion is over. Cena says Carlito picked the wrong guy on the wrong night. He says his mouth is about to back him into a fight he wants no part of. He says if Carlito doesn't like who he is, and doesn't like how he does things he can step up. He tells him if he wants a piece of him to step up. Carlito goes to take a bite out of the apple, but Cena beats him to the punch and delivers an Attitude Adjustment before firing Carlito over the top rope. That brings out Sheamus, and Cena says the same goes for him. He tells him if he wants some to come get some, but Sheamus stops in the aisle and retreats.
-Verne Troyer is out again on his little stool, and he wants to introduce his two good friends MVP and Mark Henry. MVP wants to prepare us for an epic moment. He says Miz says Mark Henry has no personality, and tells us to give it up for Mark Henry who is going to rock the mic. Mark Henry treats us to the worst rap you've ever heard. PN News thinks this is terrible.
Mark Henry vs. The Miz
Miz tries to attack early, but gets shoved off quickly by Henry. He tries to jump up on the back of Henry, but gets thrown off. Henry fires Miz into the corner, and delivers a clothesline. Henry runs into a back elbow, and ends up in a seated position on the mat allowing Miz to deliver a boot to the face. Miz jumps up on the back again with a rear chinlock, but Henry backs him into the corner. Miz is back again with a series of right hands, and a charging corner clothesline. Miz heads up top but gets caught by Henry who delivers a World's Strongest Slam out of nowhere to finish at 1:58. Afterward Mark Henry and Verne Troyer celebrate with the divas. Winner: Mark Henry (Pinfall-World's Strongest Slam ½*)
-Mark Cuban is your guest host next week.
-HHH says he had the weirdest dream that a little man handed them a piece of paper that said they had to go to Little People's Court. HBK said he had the same dream. Hornswoggle shows up and grunts, but now he has subtitles! "Gentlemen, you've ignored my plea for legal discourse & have left me little choice but to seek further prosecution. I am terribly disappointed." HBK and HHH both inform him he's got nothing, and leaves. Verne Troyer rolls up on his cart and tells Swoggle to sue them for everything they got. So that was the payoff to Little People's Court. Could have been worse I suppose.
Chris Jericho vs. Triple H (w. Shawn Michaels)
Shawn joins the commentary team for this one. Jericho bails to the floor right off the bat, but HHH chases him outside and fires him back in. Big Show joins us, and the distraction allows Jericho to hit a springboard dropkick sending HHH crashing back to the floor as we head to break. We're back with Jericho pounding HHH in the corner, and Big Show now joining HBK on commentary. HHH turns the table in the corner, but Jericho quickly turns things back around firing HHH over the top to the floor. Jericho goes outside and fires HHH into the ringsteps and throws him back inside. Jericho hits a knee lift, and delivers a dropkick for a one count. Jericho locks in a half nelson chinlock, and hits the ropes running into a high knee from HHH. HHH connects with a facebuster for two, and whips Jericho into the corner. HHH charges into a boot, and Jericho goes for the Walls only to be kicked off by HHH. Jericho comes back with an enzaguri for two, and hits a running bulldog. Jericho goes for the Lionsault but ends up hitting the knees of HHH. HHH goes for the Pedigree, but Jericho counters into a jackknife rollup for two. HHH delivers a clothesline to Jericho picking up a two count, and again goes for the Pedigree. Jericho counters into a DDT for two, but hits the ropes running into a spinebuster from HHH for two. Show stands up to get a closer look, and Shawn tries to talk him into staying out of things. Show fires HBK into the ring apron, and then delivers a knockout punch to HHH behind the ref's back. The ref goes ahead and ejects Big Show, but while that is going on Shawn comes in and delivers Sweet Chin Music to Jericho putting both men out. The ref also ejects HBK, and then comes back to start the count on both guys. Both men are up at nine, and Jericho goes for the codebreaker. HHH counters into a Pedigree attempt, but Jericho counters that with the Walls of Jericho. HHH kicks him off and then get a rollup which picks up the win at 11:13. Pretty good match that sets up a DX-Jericho handicap match next week. Shawn grabs the mic and says next week is Jericho's last night on Raw, and if he's not down with that he's got two words for him… Winner: Triple H (Pinfall-Rollup ***)
-Pretty terrible show all around this week. Virtually no wrestling at all until the main event. Troyer was god awful as a guest host. Sheamus was booked to look like a coward after being called out by Cena. Decent main event aside this was easily one of the worst Raw's in recent memory.

Has Jericho EVER beaten HHH (other than the Hebner-reversal)?

TERRIBLE

What a surprise.

Wow.. Umm.. Rob, do you even like watching wrestling? I understand how recapping a show is/can be a pain in the ass.. But it's like every week/episode the show sucked and I feel like you are about to kill yourself over the time that you wasted.
I thought was good. There was funny moments with the host and Henry. It was good to see Maryse back. Still not feelin' the Shameus thing, but I hope it works out for him. He has been booked really good, but I don't know if he has that "it" factor like Kofi has. Speaking of whom, whenever they do decide to have Kofi vs Orton, that crowd will totally lose their shit for them. I guess someone out there missed Carlito. The crowd was pretty good all night too. Big Show was a better commentator then Cole. lol
Posted By: Eboney (Guest) on November 30, 2009 at 11:40 PM
Anyone else notice how Carlito dropped the accent?

Sheamus has the twisty rockets!
Posted By: Ol' Jeezy Reezy (Guest) on November 30, 2009 at 11:41 PM
Please, someone tell me why I should buy Sheamus as a challenger. He's done nothing to impress me so far. Aside from the whole "he's new" why should I give a shit?
Also if DX win at TLC I might finally be done with Raw. No Jericho = no watch.
Posted By: Guest#5955 (Guest) on November 30, 2009 at 11:42 PM
AAAARRRGGGGG.....why cant they get someone relatively cool and hip to host the show.....and where is HHH's steroid induced heart attack already, if he gets put out of the show, HBK will follow suit, Cena will realize disney pays more than vince ever could and Jericho can finally admit to setting Benoit up to kill his family........
......then Orton can rule....

i was hoping this would lead to something with carlito but nope, FAIL!

indeed i give this show a 5.8 mediorce at best and verne looked like he didnt want to be there lol

this was a weird Raw for me.
I liked half of the segments and hated the other half basically.

-Thank my lucky stars for a huge MNF game tonight!!! I only saw bits of the show during commercials and read the recap. Everything I saw was cringe worthy bad and judging from Rob's report this was godawful outside the main event.
-I don't see how Seamus' credibility is built by feeding him Santino. He might as well had beat down the beer vendor! Its just as pointless.
-Ive also noticed that the quality of the show seems to march lockstep with the quality of the host. Its a fairly simple concept but one that the E's braintrust fails to grasp. Its no coincidence that the most effective hosts have been either old wrestlers or people used to dealing with a large live audience. Those hosts are the most well equipped to contribute actively to the show itself in an effective manner. All the other hosts who are not so equipped will continue to drag the quality down and provide us all with wrestlecrap moments. I think there's a reason "little peoples court" wasn't shown, it was quite possibly too atrocious for even the E's diminished standards.

when carlitos music hit. i was liked "fuck, hes back" then cena fu'ed him and i said, "phew"
sorry but i never really saw anything in that guy

"Wow.. Umm.. Rob, do you even like watching wrestling? I understand how recapping a show is/can be a pain in the ass.. But it's like every week/episode the show sucked and I feel like you are about to kill yourself over the time that you wasted"
Actually, I'd say the opposite is true. Almost every single RAW report I've read by McNew has him praising the show, or at least trying to find something good in it where most people don't. I stopped watching RAW a while ago, but occasionally switch over during halftime of MNF, and I'm always reminded why I stopped watching. That said, this does sound like a terrible show, with a terrible host.
I'm pretty sure I recall a few PPV roundtables and/or Fact or Fiction columns with McNew, and he comes across as a huge fan of WWE, and not a fan of TNA at all. So I'll call a spade a spade and give him props for at least giving an honest opinion of a show that I'm sure MANY other people thought sucked.

I enjoyed more then I disliked
Jerishow and DX to start was pretty good..entertaining
womens match sucked..I have yet to see a decent women's match.
The Sheamus/santino helped to build Sheamus as a monster..but the segment with Cena made no sense...they should have had officials or mcmahon stop the fight.
Verne was horrible...Miz showed why he is an up and coming star with his mic work...however in the ring he is as boring as Mark Henry.
Kofi/orton was good to progress the feud
It was nice to see Carlito...too bad no Jack Swagger this week. His feud with Miz seems dead.
I was also hoping for little peoples court.
Jericho can't be off raw...Raw is Jericho!!

really the same could be said to Kane ever beating Batista

How did any of you idiots enjoy this show, that is a disgrace

"Wow.. Umm.. Rob, do you even like watching wrestling? I understand how recapping a show is/can be a pain in the ass.. But it's like every week/episode the show sucked and I feel like you are about to kill yourself over the time that you wasted."
As another user said earlier, Rob's reports are usually more favorable to RAW broadcasts than they deserve (sometimes). If I've read a report where even McNew says it's crap, then it must be real garbage.
Of course, that all depends on perspective. I've not watched a full episode of RAW since 2006.
Posted By: Jeff (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 12:22 AM
You must have been watching a completely different RAW - it was great live! Verne Troyer was great and the skits were actually funny for once!
Posted By: guest (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 12:31 AM
the only good thing in this show was carlito telling Cena that the guys in th back hate him and are sick of him like most fans are to..which goes to show how much confidence they have on sheamus when they send carlito to do the talking for him.
Posted By: yokoo (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 12:43 AM
wow....tonights raw wasn't as bad as l thought it would be...it was worse. l didnt watch it live, l recorded it and watched MNF. easily the worst raw of the year. even mini-me looked like he wasn't sure he should be there. l would like to say there was at least one decent match tonight, but there wasn't.
Posted By: the one (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 12:47 AM
Jeez, they better start calling him "Macho Man" Chris Jericho the way he's been HHH's bitch for the last 10 years or so.
Posted By: Krunchy (Registered) on December 01, 2009 at 12:56 AM
Not only does HHH want to exceed Ric Flair's title reign record, but apparently, he wants the hold the record for the longest feud with a single opponent without said opponent owning a pinfall victory over him (surpassing Hulk Hogan's 1,432,455 to 0 mark vs. Randy Savage).
Posted By: Jason S (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 12:56 AM
"Has Jericho EVER beaten HHH (other than the Hebner-reversal)?"
Once. On Smackdown in 2002, in a match to determine who would get to job to Hogan while he killed time waiting for his scintillating PPV title match against the Undertaker. And he needed a distraction by UT AND grabbing the tights to do it.
*rolleyes*

Internet fans don't count. And the wanna be "smart fans" in New York, Philly, and even Boston, don't make up the majority of the fans.
How can "most" fans be sick of Cena when he's the top grossing superstar, his merchandise sells like wildfire, he gets massive cheers in my venues, and when he returns after an absence, his ovation rivals even the biggest stars of all time?
Cena hatred is so 2006. Get the fuck over it already.

The show tonight fell flat. Kofi got beat down and Sheamus looked like a coward.

I laughed so hard at that PN News reference. Thanks man...that really was terrible, I was cringing for Mark Henry.

I guess nobody got the Twin Peaks reference with the dream and Hornswaggle's "language" and if you are too young to remember the show...the Simpsons spoofed it in the "Who Killed Mr. Burns" episode.
Posted By: Max (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 01:48 AM
The show wasn't terrible...it just wasn't all that great...nothing that made me pop. I still don't buy Sheamus as a contender since they haven't made me care about him...but you obviously play that card WAYYYY too much because he got a lot more heat from the crowd than you give him credit for....last week it was total indifference (tho last weeks crowd blew balls)...but he got quite a lot of heat after putting Santino through the table and backing out on Cena....I understand you don't like Sheamus' place right now, but don't be too biased about it
Posted By: Erik (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 02:09 AM
If you want to get Sheamus anywhere close to over with the fans as a monster, I dunno, give him some exciting power moves or something. He goes in, stomps, kicks and punches and that's about it, and Lawler and cole put on their serious voices and we as the audience is supposed to buy into him as some kind of monster. Creative gives all these new guys the most basic of movesets, see Sheamus, see Mcintire, Drew, Swagger, Jack, See Eric Escobar, see Archer, Vance, none of these guys have any moves that set them aside from anyone. When a wrestler debuts, the first thing I look for is what new elements do they bring to the ring, if the answer is none, stomp, kick, body slam, look menacing, basic finisher, I'm out basically. Now, say Sheamus powerbombed Santino 10 times in a row, and then slapped an amazing submission on him, now I might want to pay attention. I mean look at Brock Lesnar, he went out there and destroyed, powerbombed people three times in a row without releasing them, took the opponents foot and bent it back to their heads, then lifted them up and F5'd, maybe twice, and then pinned his opponent. Domination. Drew Mcintire, punch, kick, dropkick, elbowdrop, stomp, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, i'm out. I want to be impressed, I want to be in awe...I want the Skyscrapers to go in their and destroy everything they see, you want fans to take notice of new guys, let the new guys off their leashes, and give us something fun and impress us if they can. Right now as it stands, I don't know if i'm even spelling Drew Mcintires name right, and I barely care enough to check....

Jericho previously defeated Triple H in 2002 on Smackdown to earn a shot at Hulk Hogan's Undisputed Title.
Posted By: Guest#2274 (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 02:37 AM
All that being said, there was some good stuff tonight, Jericho on the mic, Santino on the mic, I liked the preview of the Orton/Kofi matchup. Was kinda suprised that they went as long as they did, thought it would be over before they started, have to be careful, no need to give away this matchup for free. HHH/Jericho wasn't bad, kinda bland, but ok, typical main event on Raw match. Troyer was ok, he is always a spectacle in anything he does, even when he isn't doing much. I enjoyed seeing him next to Show and Hornswaggle. I'm a sucker for stuff like that, was hoping Khali would be there as well. Glad there was no midget court room scene, was dreading that. Cena was bland, Carlito was even blander...Miz was awesom.....until he literally got squashed, was hoping for more here, I'm enjoying the Miz, deserves more. Ladies match was kinda just there, Melina is a horrible actress, and she is even worse when she smiles and tries to be on the side of good. Good is dumb, let her go back to evil bitch, she was decent at that. Overall, not a great show, kinda just there, bland with some filling, enouigh not to bore me, but nothing I would save on my TIVO or anything....

Wow, face beats heel thereby setting up.......vanquished heel vs victorious face AND another face in a handicap match? Did the WWE find one of Vince Russo's old booking notebooks behind a large file cabinet while cleaning out their office? And I can't wait to see who Sheamus can beat up next week causing me to doubt if even John Cena can survive a match with him. Too bad Colin Delany isn't under contract anymore. But I guess they can still have him decimate Howard Finkel.
Posted By: Jameson (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 02:51 AM
The WWE pulls the 'court' segment with DX, and IWC doesn't mention that, but only goes on to bash the show still.

This was an important wek for SHeamus, and he flopped big time. The fact that Santino and the black hole of Personality that is FREAKING CARLITO had more heat than him doesn't bode well for him. They might as well have Cena beat him in under a minute at the PPV

Not only does HHH want to exceed Ric Flair's title reign record, but apparently, he wants the hold the record for the longest feud with a single opponent without said opponent owning a pinfall victory over him (surpassing Hulk Hogan's 1,432,455 to 0 mark vs. Randy Savage).
ea, i think the only time jericho has pinned triple H is that episode of Smackdown! when he beat him in a no. 1 contender's match for Hogan's title...so 1,432,455 to 1 lol he owns Jericho...I hate that

OK Gail Kim is way better than Melina in the ring and in terms of looks!
And Maryse looked amazing. Wow. She's really getting over with the fans. I just hope they don't turn her face because she's too good at being a heel and I don't want them to turn her into another smiling, goody two shoes face Diva.

For the last two posters :
Hulk Hogan >>>>> HHH
Randy Savage >>> Chris Jericho

pretty bad...amazing how 180 raw goes would like to see a top 5 bottom 5 of guest hosts

Rob, if you simply don't like watching WWE, or watching RAW, or doing the recap on it... then just stop doing it!!!
Producing such a biased and uninspired report week in week out (no matter whether RAW actually sucked or not) is abysmal!
Posted By: Ouch! (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 08:29 AM
That was actually one of Cena's best interviews: No goofy catchphrases, no hyping a PPV, just being pissed off. Wanting to fuck someone up for jumping you sells itself.

::grasping at straws::maybe they didnt want to waste a watchable show knowing everyone was watching saints/pats?::/grasping at straws::
-troyer looks as big as big show's calves
-maryse is hot, id take a ddt from her if she'd pin me like that afterwards
-I love the dichotomy of jericho talking about DX's jokey segments every week and then having his own weekly "the gm doesn't resepct me" one of his own. im a dx fan but they can not take jericho off my tv on monday nights, he is gold and I think they would be better off with the jerishow/"edge and his partner" payoff at wrestlemania in a TLC match than just giving DX the belts because they've never had them before. In fact the more and more they mention they've never had the belts, the more I think they won't win them at tlc. i can hope at least right?
-the cena thing confused me but i was half paying attention so it makes sense to me. I thought he was trying to say that if he loses at TLC he was going to take his rematch right away that night, not that he wanted the match last night, then when he called sheamus out I understood. and like i said during the show, I guess the plan is to throw cena up against guys no one gives a shit about and see if people cheer him then...sheamus, carlito...all we need is viscera next week and we get the who gives a shit hat trick.
-sheamus looked like a bitch...not a caluculated thinker, which is what segments like that are supposed to have us believe the heel is
-mvp and henry's "dealings" with the guest host week after week is worse than santino's was
-Miz comes off so natural and comfortable on the mic that if he ever learns to wrestle like a champ, he's going to be "gold" for a long long time. he's got mic skills and really makes the crowd hate or love him depend on how you feel about him. in terms of his mic skills he's like a "young" rock, I can see him stopping in the middle of his "im the miz and im awesome" and say "hey, this isn't sing-a-long with the miz" and it would work. and if you dont see that, your hatred of him is just too great and if it is, he's doing his job even more.

Everything that has been wrong with WWE since 2002 is crammed nicely into this little package: Last nights RAW.
The cherry on the top is HHH going over Jericho, again and again and again.
Jericho winning wouldnt have saved the show, its just the kick in the nuts that the WWE and HHH reign of terror for a whole decade almost has done.

Not as good as recent weeks, I enjoyed the main event, the Kofi segment and Maryse being awesome, everything else was boring.

I should be the #1 contender
Posted By: Carlito (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 09:29 AM
Verne kinda looked creepier than usual. I agree Carlito did drop the accent, maybe he's thinking "hey, it worked for Kofi?" Hornswoggle in a suit??? JeriShoWoggle!

At least J. Piven gave us SummerFest, Troyer came up way too short as a guest host. *badap tissh* Dare I say worst guest host ever.
Isn't anybody concerned with the fact that out of 2 hours you got maybe, MAYBE 15 minutes of wrestling. How pitiful.
This was painful to watch. Henry's rap was painful. Jillian skits are painful. Whatever The Miz was scripted to say was painful. Is anyone entertained by Divas being forced in uncomfortable dance with the guest host?
Utter failure of RAW on all accounts.
Posted By: wtf is Twin Peaks? (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 11:56 AM
I definitely think there going somewhere with the 'Cena is a wwe puppet' angle which I like a LOT, because this lets us snobby fans vent venom at Cena and be 'allowed' too by the WWE, because it's part of the storyline (rather than dismissing us as the old timer bitter fans we are meant to be perceived as).
Raw was awful apart from a few bright glimpses. I hate how Orton beat Kofi.. sure Kofi will prob beat him on PPV but losing to Orton on a Raw episode cuts off some of his heat and is such 50 50 booking whereby Kofi doesn't distinctively get over Orton. Beating a guy without them getting a pin on you can be key to getting over.
For me at this point the Miz is distinctively wwe's break out star he is the ONLY new guy who connects with the audience in a raw emotional way rather than a 'scripted' lets cheer or boo him.
These guest host segments are just killing the shows structure every week.
Raw losing Jericho at this point would be deadly in many ways as he is the guy who puts over anyone and everyone both verbally and in the ring.. he really brings the best out of everyone. He is a heat machine with no political agenda where he doesn't care if he jobs to Kofi or HHH..but because he is so good always retains his heat.

It's hard to excuse a wrestling show with almost no wrestling. 70% of this week's show was clearly window dressing. Very very ugly.

So true. I really can't hate the guy any more after I heard how after having neck surgery in the morning he showed up to boost moral later the same day. Got to give it to him for that, he loves the business.

What was the point in having Verne Troyer "in charge" of Raw but have Triple H and HBK come out to confront Jerishow and then Triple H make a match between himself and Jericho and then Verne Troyer doesn't show up until 42 minutes into the show and not make a match but pretend he was talking on his cell phone? Then he comes out to do bad "stand-up" comedy about the Miz that wasn't funny ?
Posted By: Chico (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 12:45 PM
Agreed. PN's Yo baby yo baby yo > whatever the hell Henry was trying to rhyme last night.
What about Dancin Mark Henry prior the rapping segment?
Man I can't wait for the 4R's on this show!
How do you come off the pretty great Ventura show last week to this?
They've got to due something with that Cena match as there's no way they're going to put any asses in the seats live or ppv buys with Sheamus. The Elimination Chamber that had Carilito & Masters in it think this match is weak
Posted By: Byzdalmyt (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 12:49 PM
Dear Piperfan01,
I'm with you on that. The WWE wants us to care about new guys because they're new, but they are doing the same moves as everyone else on the roster and doing nothing to stand out and be different and get noticed and get over with the fans. The WWE seriously needs to freshen up and diversify the wrestling.

The Smackdown airing on April 25, 2002. The funny part is that it was Randy Orton's in ring debut AND that there's absolutely no video of Jericho winning. The closest thing is a promo Jericho did the following week where he mentions that he defeated HHH.

Maryse sucks. But I guess we need another diva to overrate now that Mickie James is on her way out. According to you guys, she is "really getting over with the crowd", despite the fact that they were silent for her last night, outside of maybe one or two guys cheering. I'm used to it though. Standards have become so low now. In 2009, three people clapping means somebody is "over".
Posted By: Guest#9231 (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 03:49 PM
I watched the Pawn Stars marathon and flipped to Raw during commercials and have a few thoughts about the show.
I didn't see Verne once while watching, and from the sounds of it, thats a good thing.
Jericho and Show are one of the better talking tag-teams in recent history.
John Cena needs to stop yelling. I hate when he's cutting a promo. And if he doesn't rap anymore, why have him rapping as his entrance music? And vice versa.
DX trying to be serious is a good thing, except when they try and lighten it up. It makes the humor not as funny and cheapens the fact that they're being serious.
Maryse...WOW. I would do whatever she wanted me to do.
Its good to see a match end with a non-finisher pinfall.
Posted By: beezy (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 04:14 PM
You John Cena apologists are the worst fucking fans alive. Jump off a fucking cliff. He sucks. LOL@top grossing star.
Posted By: Erik (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 04:31 PM
This show was so interesting I decided to flip back and forth to Monday Night Football instead.
The problem is they didn't build up Sheamus nearly enough.
John Cena's 1000th angry promo after overcoming the odds bordered on self-parody.
Troyer and Henry was like watching someone in a coma slowly die on stage, it was that awful.
Way to blow off the Orton-Kofi feud with a squash.
Suprising to see Carlito back after "creative had nothig for him", byt they just totally buried him.
Has Jericho ever beaten HHH?
Posted By: lilwayne1 (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 04:50 PM
How can "most" fans be sick of Cena when he's the top grossing superstar, his merchandise sells like wildfire, he gets massive cheers in my venues, and when he returns after an absence, his ovation rivals even the biggest stars of all time?
Cena hatred is so 2006. Get the fuck over it already.
Posted By: Brad B (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 01:32 AM
Well, people can dislike Cena all they want, that's their own opinion, but I agree that the "everyone is sick of Cena" rants are mind-dumbing now, the guy has been the biggest star in wrestling for 5 years and counting, he's not going to be depushed anytime soon as long as he makes the company the most money.
Posted By: Guest#6900 (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 06:00 PM
Sheamus has a great look, nice moveset, and could have been great in this role...it's just come way too fast.
Kofi is over because he's been around a while, faced lots of different guys whom the audience actually care about, and he's surprisingly great on the mic.
Sheamus beat a few jobbers and then BOOM, he's in the main event. The audience hasn't gotten used to him yet and he's beaten no one credible in the eyes of the fans.
Like I said, he has impressive moves but he hasn't really created a flowing match out of them yet, or had them established as effective. Matt Hardy gets huge pops for the side-effect and second rope leg drop and the crowd counts the pins, even though he's never won a match with them. The moves are established so the crowd react.
Sheamus needed more time and more opponent variety on Raw...I just hope it doesn't derail him.
Drew McIntyre is getting the slower build on Smackdown...his will be the more effective push.

Agreed, they absolutetly ruined 2 great female heel characters in Melina & Mickie James by turning them face, I hope they don't do the same to Maryse, I only find her entertaining because she's such an egotistical bitch, if she started acting like all the others it would be a travesty.
Posted By: Guest#8108 (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 06:05 PM
Santino's segment about pigmentation is my FLOL line of the year!
MORE SANTINO!!!
No guest host the first 45 minutes of the show? Maybe they were short on time.
The Mark Henry rap segment was just brutal. The went to commercial DURING it. Good call Vince.
Was I the only one waiting for Vern to roll off that stool? At least get one with arms and a back.
Carlito lost the accent. Must be taking lessons from Kofi. So much of what he said is true though. See you in a month Carlito.
Best part of the Cena segment....THE CAR!!!
Posted By: skutar (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 06:08 PM
I like the idea of Cena feuding with Seamus. It's a new feud. And everyone knows Seamus is just an anonymous big guy who Cena should dispose of pretty quickly. It's reminiscent of Hogan in his day.. You have to feed him some "monsters" from time to time for him to get rid of. It's why I think the Khali and Umaga feuds were so nice.
Posted By: Guest#3944 (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 06:11 PM
Maryse and Michelle McCool are the best heel Divas in the company. Maryse's persona reminds me of heel Sable...only she is about a thousand times more beautiful, classier, younger and a better actress.
McCool doesn't have natural charisma like Maryse, but she has acquired a personality over time and has improved. I view her more as an Orton-type character, who is silent but dangerous. Plus she has shown that she can have a joke, like the very funny Piggy James segment.
Posted By: Guest#3663 (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 07:44 PM

Kelly Kelly says hi. She is the most over female in the company, and she gets cheered by more than 3 fans. When her music hits, the crowd responds very well to her!! If WWE was smart they would be pushing Kelly towards becoming the new top face Diva of the company. She's young, hot, flashy in the ring, marketable and has the most upside of all Divas. Why else did she get that 7-11 deal and none of the other Divas?
Posted By: Guest#0009 (Guest) on December 01, 2009 at 07:47 PM

Maryse better than Sable? Well, she is prettier. But Sable was way, and I mean WAY more over than she will ever be. I never liked Sable, but she probaly got the biggest pops I've ever heard for a woman. And Maryse is classy? Yeah right. She's another dumb blonde that posed in Playboy. Big whup. She's just the new flavor of the month. You'll get sick of her once you start to remember how much she sucks in the ring and the mic and how little the crowd cares for her.
I agree that Kelly is probaly going to be the new top face diva. I think she sucks and isn't really that pretty, but she's got that Barbie look that the kids in the audience seem to respond to. And she's "hot" in the generic way that guys respond to, so why not push her?

I would never usually diss someone's opinion. BUT... Eboney, this was one of the worst wrestling shows I've ever seen, and believe me I'm not in 411's usual demographic - I remember the 70s! There was 6 minutes of actual wrestling in the first hour and three quarters of a two hour show. I like Verne Troyer but he looked really uncomfortable out there, and that's not his fault, its the WWE's. I thought Rob was being generous calling this "pretty terrible." It was the drizzling shits.
Posted By: APinOz (Guest) on December 02, 2009 at 01:37 AM
In two hours there were 5 matches and only one of them exceeded 4 minutes. Maybe there was more truth to that episode of South Park than I originally thought . . .

People who will NEVER have as much sex as Verne Troyer:
Everyone who posted here... COMBINED.
Bottom line:
Verne Troyer doesn't give a flying fuck what any of you think. He may have been a "fail" on Raw, but his life is "epic win." Unlike the majority of you, Troyer won't die alone.

I'm a little bit put off by the fact that the WWE title match will be decided by putting your opponent through a single table. I'm not a huge fan of table matches at this point but at least make it 2 out of 3 so that it seems difficult. And the fact that Shameous' promo and the announcers made this match seem like an easy way to get the title really didn't help. I'm not gonna throw 40 dollars away to see Cena go through one table and lose the title. Hopefully they build other matches on the card that are worth seeing because right now I'm not sold on the Shameous/Cena feud.
