-Live from the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, OK

-Hosted by Michael Cole & Jerry "The King" Lawler

-Shawn Michaels is out to start the program, and we get a recap of last week's promo. Shawn says there is a buzz around the WWE locker room and everyone thinks he is crazy for putting his career on the line at Wrestlemania. As he walks the halls of the locker room, and his peers can not look him in the eyes. He says they whisper in the corner, and look away because none of them believe in him. No one believes he can defeat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. He recognizes that the streak is 17-0, but he also understands that no one has given Taker a run for his money like he has. He knows that as an undeniable fact that everyone knows that he is Mr. Wrestlemania. He believes that he can end the undefeated Wrestlemania streak. He says for all of his peers that don't believe in him he's going to give them an opportunity. He invites anyone to come out and tell him face to face that he can't win. That brings out Triple H, and Shawn unbelievably says "you of all people." Triple H cuts him off and says "he doesn't think Shawn can beat Undertaker, but he knows he can." Triple H says he has wrestled everyone in the business, and he can tell Shawn honestly he's the best he's ever been in the ring with. He says Shawn wants to talk about the guys not believing in him, and his peers not believing in him. He says Shawn has no peers, and points at the sign saying on that night he truly is Mr. Wrestlemania. He says the road to Wrestlemania always takes them down different paths, but he can tell Shawn with certainty that DX will never die. He says DX will not be in the ring together for quite a while, but he doesn't want people's lasting image of them to be them losing the tag team titles. So Triple H has invoked the rematch clause tonight. Shawn says he appreciates it, but they are going down different paths. Triple H says he knows they're going down different paths, but if they're tag team champions they don't have to defend the belts for 30 days. He says 28 days from tonight is Monday Night Raw after Wrestlemania, and on that night they will throw a party like only DX can throw. HHH says he believes that Shawn will still be there the night after Wrestlemania, and he believes that the streak will have ended. He believes that his career will be alive and well, and he believes that he will have beaten The Undertaker. He tells Shawn that's what he believes, and asks Shawn what he believes. Shawn ways he believes they've got some tag team titles to win tonight.

-Cheech and Chong are in their office where they are met by the Bella Twins. The Bella's want to go one of their shows on the "Get it Legal" tour. The Bellas end up taking Cheech off, and Chong hangs out in the office. He knows he's watched the show enough to know he's not hallucinating, and sees Swoggle with a box of Lucky Charms. They cause him to fade out or something.

Randy Orton vs. Ted Dibiase
Orton gets a really nice pop, and seems to be picking up the pace walking to the ring. Dibiase attacks early with a series of right hands in the corner, but Orton quickly turns it around. Orton fires Dibiase into the ropes, but after a backdrop attempt fails Orton levels him with a clothesline. Dibiase pushes Orton into corner off a lockup, and drives a shoulder block into the ribs. Dibiase sets Orton up on the top rope, and goes for a superplex which is blocked by Orton who knocks Dibiase to the mat. Dibiase comes right back with a dropkick, and fires Orton to the floor. Outside they go where Orton blocks an attempt throw him into the post instead sending Dibiase headfirst into the steel. Orton hits a European uppercut as they had back inside, but Dibiase quickly bails to the floor to get away sending us to commercial. We return with Dibiase back in control stomping Orton, and delivering a series of right hands. Dibiase fires Orton into the top buckle, and chokes him out with a boot in the corner. Dibiase hits a snap mare, and a boot to the face gets two. Dibiase grabs a half nelson with a chinlock, but Orton is able to punch free. Orton hits the ropes, but Dibiase follows delivering his rebound clothesline. The two men trade punches in the middle with Dibiase getting the upper hand. Dibiase hits the ropes but runs into a powerslam from Orton who follows with his Orton stomp. Orton finishes that of with a kneedrop, and calls or the RKO. Cody runs out and hops on the apron to distract Orton, and that allows Dibiase to roll him up. Orton reverses the rollup into one of his own, but Rhodes is in to break up the pin. That draws the DQ at 9:02. Legacy begins to beatdown Orton, but he comes back and fights both men off. A dropkick sends Ted to the floor, and Orton goes for the hangman's DDT on Cody. Ted makes the save to pull Cody to save, and the bail for safety. Wow, what an excellent job of making Legacy look like a legit threat to Orton. I'm not serious for the sarcasm impaired.
Winner: Randy Orton (Disqualification-Rhoderference **)

-Bret Hart arrives at the arena on crutches and we head back to Cheech and Chong's dressing room. Chong is still tripping out running his fingers through a very British sounding Eve's hair. The punchline is that it is not Eve, but rather William Regal. Of course this is explained as a "sugar trip" by Cheech, as Chong is diabetic. Chong snaps out of it, but wants to know if he can still hang out with Kelly Kelly. Instead of Kelly though its Chris Masters…with Kelly's voice. This is so dumb, but it works somehow. Not sure why.

-Recap of the Batista-Cena angle from last week.

Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Jack Swagger vs. Santino Marella
Santino delivers a series of punches right away, but Swagger stops a hiptoss attempt with a knee lift. Gutwrench Powerbomb finishes at 0:27. Wow, they must be pressed for time.
Winner: Jack Swagger (Pinfall-Gutwrench Powerbomb DUD)

-Batista looking more douchetastic than ever in the leather vest, no shirt, tropper sunglasses combo heads to the ring accompanied by security for a "confrontation" with John Cena.

-John Cena heads to the ring, and he says there are a few people who told him at Elimination Chamber that Dave Batista stole the title from him. He says that's not what happened. He says it was about business, and Batista had an agreement with Vince McMahon and he cashed in on that agreement. He says its not the first time it happened to him, and it won't be the last. Last Monday it got real personal though. He says he and Dave have been in the WWE a long time, and he's never had a problem with him before. Even considered him a friend at times, but now he has a problem with him. He says the silver lining is he's going to Wrestlemania for a main event match against Batista for the WWE Title. He says that's four weeks away, but after last Monday Night he needs to pay Batista back and wants to do it right now. Dave comes out with security, and Cena wants to know if he's seeing things. Dave says they're not here to protect him, but to protect Cena. Batista says he has no problem coming down there and taking him out again, but the security is there to make sure it doesn't happen. He tells Cena he should thank him, and Cena thinks he should come to the ring so he can do so personally. Or he can stand up there with his security like a 6' 6'' 300 pound pansy. Dave calls him a funny guy, but he says his explanation is that he wants to face him at Wrestlemania. So he lost and everyone got what they wanted. Batista says they both started at the same time, and their rise to the top was nearly identical. Batista says they couldn't be any different, and are the two biggest stars of the attitude era. He references Wrestlemania 21 and how they both won World Titles and never looked back. Batista says the WWE for some insane reason labeled John Cena as the name. He calls Cena the face of the WWE and mocks him for being in commercials and movies. He says Stone Cold passed the torch to Cena, and it should have been him. He says he's the biggest star in the company, and he did what he did last week for two reasons. One is to beat the hell out of Cena at Wrestlemania to prove to everyone that he is that much better than him. The second reason is plain and simple. He just can't stand Cena. Cena says that's all this about? Some fictional torch that very few have even seen and fewer talk about. Cena says he worked his butt off for the company, and he's the first to show up and the last to leave. Dave is too cool to show up on time. He says everyone knows he's given his all to the business, while Batista expects the business to be given to him. He calls Dave selfish, and Batista says he's agrees with Cena. He's not here for the people, but he's here to make money and win championships. He tells Cena to keep kissing babies and hugging fat girls while he trains and works towards beating the hell out of Cena at Wrestlemania. Batista says it's a fact that every time they are in the ring together bad things happen to Cena, and it wasn't too long ago that he broke Cena's neck. Batista says Cena can say anything he wants, but that's all he does is bark, bark, bark. That's not what he does, but Cena knows first hand what he does. Batista says he wants to hear one of John's fancy catch phrases, because Cena can't beat him and deep down he knows it. This was probably Batista's best promo ever, and quite frankly it's not even close. Wow, just wow.

-Cheech and Chong are still all messed up in their office, and they have Chavo, Primo, Carlito, Katie Lea, and Yoshi Tatsu in their office with mustaches. Finally a chicken shows up with Santino's voice to tell them the diva pillow fight is coming up soon. I should have took up pot before this show.

Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Zack Ryder (w. Rosa Mendes) vs. Montel Vontavious Porter
Ryder attacks at the bell and whips MVP into the ropes. He misses a charge and MVP hits a throw. MVP delivers a facebuster, and that sets up the ballin' elbow which connects. Playmaker finishes at 0:45. Two matches in less than a minute? I'm not one to bitch about match times, but c'mon now.
Winner: Montel Vontavious Porter (Pinfall-Playmaker DUD)

-Cheech and Chong are out and they welcome us to Monday Night Raw. Cheech reminds us that the show has been going on for an hour and a half…or a day and a half he's not sure. Shoot comment? They are here to introduce the participants in the diva pajama pillow fight.

Diva's Pajama Pillow Fight: Kelly Kelly vs. Eve Torres vs. Gail Kim vs. Maryse vs. Jillian Hall vs. Alicia Fox
Everyone just teams up on Maryse and I guess this is every woman for themselves? Jillian takes out all the divas with her pillow, but Kelly sticks a pillow in her face. Legdrop gets a two count for Kelly, but Maryse attacks and hits the French Kiss. Gail breaks it up, and we get more pillow fighting. I'm losing interest quick. Finally Eve delivers her sommersault legdrop to get the pin at 1:56. After the match Swoggle comes out and gives Lucky Charms to everyone. The less said the better.
Winner: Eve Torres (Pinfall on Alicia-Sommersault Legdrop -*****)

-Your next Hall of Fame inductee is AWA legend Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon. Inducting Mad Dog will be Pat Patterson.

-Justin Roberts goes to introduce Bret Hart, but instead Mr. McMahon comes strutting out. Vince says he wants the honor to introduce the man who will be making his final farewell comments. He says he's excellence of execution, best there is, was, and ever will be, and he's a man who Vince has the most amount of personal respect for. Bret comes hobbling out as we get a recap of his promo two weeks ago, and the car accident that followed. Vince wants Bret to clear his name before he begins as far as having nothing to do with the accident last week. Bret says he doesn't know if that's true or not, but he wants to say his final farewell so he wants Vince to get the hell out of the ring. Vince goes to leave, but admits that he really didn't want Bret to come here tonight for a farewell. Vince asks Bret if he challenged him to a match at Wrestlemania, and Bret says he's incapacitated. Vince says he knows what happened, but he thinks an old dried up fossil like Bret can heal in six weeks. He says Bret didn't come back to get things right, but he came back for one reason. For years its been eating at Bret every day, and he wanted to fight Vince. Bret says that's fair enough, and he wanted to fight Vince for thirteen years. Vince asks why not fight him? He offers him a chance to fight him at Wrestlemania, and asks if he wants his dreams to come true. Vince says he's the guy who screwed him in Montreal, and sent him packing down to "dubya see dubya" where he embarrassed himself. He said he's the guy who spit in his face and told him his dad wouldn't be in the hall of fame. Vince says if he's not going to do it for himself he should do it for all his fans all over the world. Vince says Bret may not be 100% but he's a Canadian hero. He can't let the people down, and asks the fans if they'd like to see Bret Hart in a match at Wrestlemania. The fans all answer in the affirmative. Bret says he knows what Vince is trying to do, but wants him to get it through his head. He's got a broken leg and calls Vince an idiot. Vince says he hates to hear those words because his last name used to stand for something. He tells Bret he has no heart, and says Bret has become a coward. Vince kicks the crutches out from under Bret, and leaves him laying. Vince walks out as Bret gets to his feet, and says if Vince wants a match at Wrestlemania he has it. Vince gets to the top of the ramp, and he wants to let Bret know that he may not be 100% but Vince is. Next week he's going to take on Bret's biggest fan. Next week Vince faces John Cena.

WWE Unified Tag Team Championship: D-Generation X vs. The Miz & The Big Show ©
Shawn starts out with Show and attacks with a series of chops in the corner. Show whips Shawn into the corner, and delivers a clothesline before tagging in Miz. Miz stomps Shawn and delivers a running boot. Show tags back in and delivers a punch to the ribs, and picks up Shawn in a bearhug. Shawn hammers free and delivers a chop. Shawn goes for sweet chin music, but Show catches the leg and goes for the chokeslam. Shawn counters and makes the tag to HHH who is in with a facebuster and spinebuster. Trips goes for the pedigree, but Miz is in and gets hit with a spinebuster for his trouble. The ref puts Miz out and Show goes for a chokeslam, but Shawn is in to deliver Sweet Chin Music to Show. Both men are down as the ref puts the count on, and both men tag out. Shawn hits the flying forearm to Miz, and delivers an inverted atomic drop. Shawn heads to the top rope to connect with his flying elbow drop. Shawn tunes up the band, but Undertaker shows up on the titantron. Taker just stares Shawn and rolls his eyes back in his head. The distraction allows Miz to sneak up and roll Shawn up with a jack knife cover for the win at 4:32. This was like a tag match in fast forward, with a rather hokey ending. Shawn lays in the ring and HHH goes to console him. Shawn slaps him away and storms off, and leaves HHH in the ring where Sheamus appears to attack him. Sheamus leaves Trips laying with a clothesline and then hits the jumping big boot on the floor sending him over the announce table. Sheamus stands on the announce table over a fallen Triple H as we head out for the night. Nice to see Sheamus make an appearance finally. I was beginning to wonder if the big fella was part of the future endeavors club over the weekend.
Winner: STILL WWE Unified Tag Team Champions-The Miz & The Big Show (Miz pins Michaels-Jacknife Rollup *1/2)

Best Batista promo ever.

Posted By: Guest#1220 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:11 PM

And shemus becomes the IWC's new favorite after the beating of Triple H. No seriously. And is Orton suppose to be a anti hero now? Act heel but a good guy?

"This was probably Batista's best promo ever, and quite frankly it's not even close"

What?

This is the worst Raw in quite a while.

Money in the bank is looking Good...

I wish that bret wouldnt get into the ring but o well

Aww, hell I blinked, I thought it was only 3 matches, but it might as well been; boy they are really making no bones about it, they don't take TNA seriously and they and Trips need to work for the Yellowbook company as much as they phone it in week after week, SMH....

Posted By: raygirl (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:22 PM

Underwhelming Raw.

M.V.P. is so stale and bland. Shouldn't be on mania's card. I want Swagger to win MITB.

The Bret Hart shit is absolutely terrible. The whole angle has made Bret look like a huge pussy. How can people actually buy into him wanting to kick Vince's ass?

This ruins his legacy. He can't and won't deliver a match up to his standards and it is just a cheap cash-in. And the card makes this match even weaker. It should be nowhere close to the 3 main event matches.

Posted By: ROH Commish (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:23 PM

Horrible matches, stupid guest host crap, but the promos were pretty good, and are building to what should be a great Wrestlemania, at least on paper. As long as the end justifies the means, I don't mind.

18 minutes of "wrestling" on a 2 hour show?

Posted By: Guest#4121 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:25 PM

this week's RAW kind of fell flat, MITB qualifiers were jokes, Legacy storyline is tired, HBK is still pissed even after getting his title shot which makes little sense considering he got exactly what he wanted. Also i think this is the first time in a long time where the Miz come out and wrestled without using a mic in months, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Best part was the pillow fight and post-match hi-jinks, pure silliness gold.

P.S. can we PLEASE get rid of those stupid one legged tights for Zach Ryder, he looks like he half-fell into a vat of body paint

Batista cut one of the best promo's of his entire career tonight. I was very impressed.

Posted By: Dwayne (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:27 PM

less than twenty minutes of wrestling

Posted By: why watch (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:28 PM

Best way for Bret/Vince to go. we find out Bret faked the whole thing so his leg is not really hurt just to goad Vine into the match.

Posted By: Guest#0236 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:28 PM

Apart from the Springer show, Raw has been on fire for the past month and a half. All the major angles have been fantastic. I fully expect this years Wrestlemania to be the best in years, and draw a much bigger buyrate than last year. I know there's no celebrity stuff this year, but the build to the top matches has been superb.

Posted By: Guest#2320 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:29 PM

I'm calling it now: HHH will turn on HBK and cost him the match against the Undertaker at WrestleMania, thereby "ending" his career. HBK will take most of the next year off, before returning around Royal Rumble time in a non-wrestling capacity where he can exact some vengeance against uber-heel HHH. This will set up the blow-off match between Shawn and Hunter at WM 27.

I could have seen the Batista promo, HBK/UT - DX Tag match, and the Johnny Cash Promo for HBK/UT's Wrestlemania match and been done. I am astonished that took two hours to shit out that turd. WWE must be constipated.

I loved Cheech's "Lost" shout out.

Posted By: The Great Capt. Smooth (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:30 PM

Raw' opening match alone was about equal to the entire amount of wrestling on last weeks Impact.

Posted By: Guest#0309 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:32 PM

They're absolutely right in that Cena and Batista have been the 2 biggest draws in wrestling for the past half decade.

Like those guys or not, from a marketing point of view, that is an epic Mania main event.

Posted By: Guest#8409 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:36 PM

It's kind of sad that once again Smackdown is the better episode this week. And it wasn't even that good for smackdown.

Posted By: Guest#9507 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:37 PM

MITB so far = Christian (Face/RAW) vs Mr Ziggles (Heel/SD!) vs Kane (Face/SD!) vs Shelton Benjamin (Face/SD!) vs Jack Swagger (Heel/RAW) vs M.V.P (Face/RAW)

First, the faces are 4 so far for 2 heels.

Seems the last two qualified guys will be heel or we will get more faces than heels (Kofi are you still having a job ?).

Second, Christian is basically paired with jobbers from past weeks and months.

Technically out of these six, only Christian can sound credible winning the case.

I'm not complaining, I'm a big fan of Ziggler and Shelton and Swagger has a lot of potential and both Kane and M.V.P can wrestle well.

It's just I cannot see any of them winning the case at all.

I do think Zeke and Kofi will end up being the last two and those two has a legit chance at winning it which should make three favorites for this MITB.

RAW was an epic fail this week like it was two weeks ago.

When it comes to "quality" RAW is the D Show in the WWE.

Superstars is vastly superior to it IMO

Posted By: RAW = The D Show (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:39 PM

Solid show. Wrestlemania 26 is shaping up very nicely. After tonight, I'm even looking forward to HHH v Sheamus, and that's only like the 6th biggest match on the card.

Posted By: Guest#5208 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:40 PM

Heel Batista is fucking great. I hope he doesn't get injured again, I want this heel run to last a while.

Posted By: Guest#1097 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:42 PM

Why do they always have Eve win these dumb diva things, nobody cares about her. They might as well let Kelly win and give the crowd what they want, at least she's over. It's like them constantly pushing Michelle McCool as top heel over Beth Phoenix or Natalya, it doesn't make any sense.

Is there wrestling on this wrestling show?

Posted By: Guest#2925 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:53 PM

Miz has quietly been getting a huge push lately. Long US title reign with clean wins over Kofi, Bourne, MVP (multiple times), tons of promo time, NXT built around him and Bryan, main eventing Smackdown last week, and now his second pinfall win over Shawn Michaels.

Posted By: Guest#0837 (Guest)  on March 01, 2010 at 11:54 PM

I am not an haitch fan, but his promo was really strong. So strong I almost expected him to turn on Shawn in the main event.

I can't tell what's going on with Orton - every time I think I know what way he's turning, something happens to make me change my mind. Tonight it seemed like he'll be a "dark" face: announce team seemed to be on his side, crowd definitely was (it's hard to root against the guy getting beaten down by superior numbers). And tonight's outcome makes Priceless look kind of weak, so they'll need to stay heel and play dirty to be a threat.

On the subject of character alignment, Cole is only a heel on NXT?

Guest hosts, qualifying squashes and divas stuff was bad and/or boring enough that I didn't watch much more than the beginning and the end. Sorry I missed the Batista/Cena stuff, sounds keen. Glad I missed WWE's version of Hogan v Flair, though.

what's so hard to understand, WWE? Fewer people watch Raw these days because there's less action (and terrible skits).

There is nothing to be gained from watching, when reading the results will suffice.

HHH is so screwing HBK at mania.. makes sense really when you look at the bigger picture.

Trips is overdue a heel turn. I'm guessing Shawn gets his revenge at either Summerslam (screw the retirement stip) or WM27 where he exacts his revenge.

RAW: 18 minutes of wrestling in 2 hours

i don't get how randy orton is the good guy in all this. he shits on these guys their entire time together and when they say something the audience sympathizes with randy?! in kayfabe terms randy is still the dick and legacy are the seemingly incompetent faces. i guess if they are the heels they will piss me off somehow...but only then will they be heels to me.

Why can't WWE writers come up with stuff as good as Taker-HBK and Cena-Batista throughout the whole year? It's like they only try when it comes to Wrestlemania time. Sure, 08 had Jericho v Michaels and 09 had Punk v Hardy, but for the most part, it's like the rest of the year is complete filler until around January.

Difference between the lack of wrestling on Raw and Impact is astounding.

Raw's angles are great, so much so that people will actually pay to see the conclusion of the Batista-Cena, Taker-HBK and Bret-Vince sagas, while Impact's non wrestling stuff is mostly shit that will have no long term benefit at all.

Where are they going with Orton and Legacy?

Shouldn't Ted and Cody be getting some heat on Orton? Wrestlemania is only a few weeks away and I can't see any great payoff to this angle, we've already seen Orton outsmart and destroy them both singlehandedly, strange way to build the feud, it's like when they had him beat Kofi 3 times straight and killed any momentum he had going.

Wow, so HHH really is going the route of having a mid card Mania match with Sheamus. Before tonight, I was still expecting him to somehow find his way into one of the main events.

Huge sigh of relief with Bret and Vince now as a singles match at Wrestlemania. I'm glad they didn't go the route of involving them with and watering down Cena-Batista, that match is huge in it's own right and didn't need any extra help.

Posted By: Guest#1107 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 12:26 AM

I'll admit this wasn't the best Raw and my only thought on that is that they don't want anyone who will be at WM to get injured so they're keeping the matches short and sweet.

1) I said it before and I'll say it again, both Batista and Cena put on a stellar promo and if you don't believe that then you are no fan of wrestling.

2) To the haters of the Bret Hart angle...it's a story see. The hero has to overcome obstacles. If Bret beats Vince every episode between now and WM why would anyone care about the match. If Luke Skywalker killed Vader on the death star in A New Hope, there wouldn't have been much of a movie left after that. No instead, his mentor dies, he gets his hand cut off and nearly goes mad with anger...obstacles see. Hart getting punked out is obstacles and when WM hits you bet he's finally going to take Vader/Vince down but you have to take the journey there first...which I realize is impossible for most of you ritalin kids

You can tell the difference between raw and smackdown MITB qualifiers. Raw gives their guys less then a minute, on smackdown we get a good 3-way and Shelton vs CM Punk

Posted By: Guest#0534 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 12:50 AM

Interesting show; the action was sparse, but the angles were great. From a storyline point of view, this was a very good RAW.

FIRE MCNEW. Seriously. Get anyone else. His writing is atrocious and he's not clever or insightful. "I should have took up pot before this show." Maybe you should have "took up" GRAMMAR.

He was right about that Batista promo, though, I'll give him that. That shit was hot.

And to the guy who doesn't understand why Orton is a face: he's a face because the majority of the people cheer for him. When he and Legacy started infighting, the crowds sided with Orton, so that's how the angle is playing out. And frankly, the booking is still fairly neutral; Orton is pretty much the face solely by being the most popular of the three. Probably because he's fucking awesome.

The real test of Sheamus' friendship with HHH is what happens at WM. Obviously they're on good terms since HHH let his buddy attack him and leave him laying, but if the usual HHHurial happens at WM I guess that means it's business as usual. If not, Sheamus is put in a fantastic position.

This was a terrible Raw. It seems that Raw never can build any momentum from week to week. Smackdown always delivers a good show. The reason I enjoy Smackdown because they actually have wrestling matches that last more than 5 minutes. For example, compare the MITB matches from Smackdown and Raw. Smackdown had three quality matches with Benjamin vs Punk, Kane vs McCyntire, and Ziggler vs Morrison vs Rtruth. All these matches were solid. Raw had Swagger vs Santino(DUD) and MVP vs Ryder(DUD). I also do not like the fact that Raw is going to apparently make Zach Ryder a jobber and how they made Dibiase and Rhodes look so weak. The only thing I did like was the promos and build for Wrestlemania. Sadly, I can guarantee that NXT will be better than Raw, even though Raw is the flagship show. I'm not a fan of TNA, but if it would have been on I would have flip over and watched it tonight.

You Know the funny thing IS they will mark out like nuts for Bret owning Vince at Mania and will call Mania 26 the greatest thing ever just for Bret putting the sharpshooter on Vince IMO.

The kids have no patience and are flip flop material as well with VERY short term memories.

Can we talk about how the miz basically has two clean wins over shawn michaels while chris jericho, as best my memory serves, has none? hell how many people period can claim to have two clean wins over shawn michaels since he became a singles wreslter almost twenty years ago? Fuck miz pinned him for a title no less.....name the last person to cleanly pin shawn michaels for a title(triple h by the by)....as a matter of fact, of the 13 titles shawn michaels has held he's cleanly lost 4 of them.....and the club includes triple h, marty jannety, and the miz. As much as i like the miz....i dont like the clean loses to hbk....mostly cuz those loses are so rare and i can think of more deserving people then the miz(again not hating on him, i enjoy the fuck out of his character and work). And then a clean lose in a title rematch?
on a side note, am i the only one getting worried that the wrestlemania card is going to be to crowded?

What is with the overrating of Batista? Epic promo? Give me a break! Batista's a 300 lb botch machine with a bad reputation backstage, a roid addict, and a self-admitted womanizer who may or may not have been responsible for several Divas departures. Cena vs Batista will be the worst "main event", period, because they may be over with the fans but they can't wrestle for shit.

Far as the rest of the matches go, it looks pretty solid. UT-HBK 2 will probably once again take match of the year honor.

I have to say what a fantastic promo from Batista, hes MUCH better as a heel & Cena was on form aswell, hes much better when hes not goofy.

The match is going to be an epic brawl at Wrestlemania.

I can wait till Bret signs a contract to face Vince & then throws down his crutch & says he faked the whole thing.

I see Sheamus going over as he's HHH's friend. This is his way of helping him out (aside from getting him into the company). And the Bret Hart piece well end up being that he's faking the whole broken leg thing. This was just to get Vince to do the match. I expect Bret to pull off the cast and Vince to look shocked that Bret screwed him this time.

I can handle Santino jobbing in under a minute but not Ryder. Santino is a comedy wrestler and should be treated as such. Ryder is one of the few guys in the past several months whos been solid in the ring and actually developed a character of his own. I don't have a problem with MVP in MITB but just a few weeks ago Ryder was taking the ECW champ to the limit.

It's a good thing they really push the whoel "Sports Entertainment" thing... 18 minutes of actual wrestling on a 2 hour show... ouch. Batista needs to stay a douche bag heel (his natural role) forever. Great promo. Nothing can stop Super Orton because he's super. Not the worst guest hosts ever, but certainly not in the top 20 best, or maybe even top 30. This guest host thing is so played out I lost track.

HHH loses to Sheamus at Wrestlemania, then snaps and later in the night and costs HBK his match with Taker. This will result in Shawn taking time off then coming back and breaking his retirement stipulation to get his revenge at next years WM in his true retirement match against HHH. I'm sure HHH is only taking a backseat this year in exchange for being in the bigger angle, long term.

Posted By: Guest#9285 (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 09:11 AM

couple thoughts;

1. Ryder looks like a fucking flaming homosexual in that outfit.

2. whats the point of even having qualifying matches for money in the bank if they're all squashes

3. it may be the pot talking but i laughed my balls off at the first 2 cheech and chong sketches

4. Orton got more cheers tonight than he did when he first turned face

5. Vince vs Bret could end up being the worst match in wrestlemania history from a workrate perspective. they better have a lot of run ins prepared.

Never a big Batista guy...but if they go with this and the if he can maintain what he did in that promo - which was BY FAR the best of his career and it's not even close - we might have something.

If only he was better in the ring...guess you cant have everything

They're absolutely right in that Cena and Batista have been the 2 biggest draws in wrestling for the past half decade.

Name me anyone who has bought a PPV because Batista was one it? I can name you dozens of people I know who HAVE bought PPV's because Jeff Hardy was on it....so how is big Dave a bigger "draw" than Jeff Hardy?

To get it out of the way, first, Raw itself was totally weak, wrestling-wise. But this show was all about building angles to Wrestlemania, and in that, it was epic.

It's going to take a LOT to top that Cena/Batista segment in the whole "promo of the year" department. From beginning to end, it was pure money, with (holy shit!) Batista of all people carrying it. Not that Cena didn't do his part, but you sort of expect that from him at this point. Batista is SO good at being a furious monster heel that you have to sort of facepalm as to why they didn't turn the guy sooner.

They hit ALL the bullet points I hoped they would to build this into a true blood feud: The two of them beginning their careers at the same time, them both winning world titles at the same Wrestlemania, Cena being elevated past Batista as the company's chosen one, the endorsements, money, and movies, even Dave breaking Cena's neck - which I actually almost forgot.

That was a segment that sells Pay per views. Tremendous.

And if there were EVER a more perfect person for the theme to the Undertaker/Michaels feud than the Johnny (MotherF'N) Cash, I haven't heard it.

So what do we have for Wrestlemania so far?

Certain:

Cena/Batista
Jericho/Edge
Michaels/Undertaker
Money in the Bank
McMahon/Hart

Likely:

Sheamus/Triple H
Mysterio/CM Punk
Morrison/McIntyre for the IC title (my own little hopeful write-in)
and either a women's or tag team match...or both.

WWE is really swinging for the fences with this one...presumably to make up for the mediocrity of last year. Dare I blaspheme, and say (on paper, at least) this looks like a card on the level of Mania X-SEVEN.

I know I'm buying.

Raw's angles are great, so much so that people will actually pay to see @the conclusion of the Batista-Cena, Taker-HBK and Bret-Vince sagas, while Impact's non wrestling stuff is mostly shit that will have no long term benefit at all.

Ugh

Well at least I switched it over after the first hour.

But I did catch enough of the second hour to be thoroughly underwhelmed.

Only positive I saw is they are doing the slow roll with Bret Harts "injury" Although I am not sure if making him healthy or hurt would sell more. I guess they are assuming Bret versus Vince will sell regardless and they also hope that most of their fans are maybe smart enough toknow Bret is faking. other than the thousands that apparently called 222-2222.

Either way ilove the tyipcal hypocrital WWE marks that are salivating over Bret and Vince getting into the ring at WM, and within minutes are bashing ric flair and hogan for wrestling in a tag team to push a couple guys. That doesnt evenmake sense.

the only thing that would be funnier is if WWE made some backhanded comments about it, but we all know they dont ever (well rarely) mention the 'competition'.

Cheech and chong sucked. Theyre acting ability was modest at best but gratuitous funkadelic out of focus camera work after eating 'magic' cereal? I dont know what was worse, seeing them or Stacey Keach (the cop who turned into a lizard) on two and a half men having a homosexual (not that there is anything wrong with that) spat with John Amos (james walker, Kunta Kinte, the dude from the beast master). Characterers of themselves and lowering themselves to the lwest common denominator to make a buck or two. But at least Chong wasnt trying to sell any bongs, although cheech did give a Lost shout out. So in terms of peopel doing it to sell something it wasnt that. But that just meant there wasnt any reason to do it.

The whole orton thing is completely F-ed up. What do they want him now a 'dark' hero? I mean they would probably try to make him a face outright if he was such a dickhead in real life and spitting on kids and being a general asshole to fans. But he gets cheered way too much for a heel so they dont know how to handle it...kayfabe is dead.

But honestly this show was so boring and unispiring that a pilow fight match couldnt even rescue it.

This was one of the best and entertaining Raws ever... If most of you track my posts, you would know I am a Wrestling Fan... I don't care about brands...

Notes:
- Best promo from Batista EVER... Best promo done this year... Succint, deadly, and to the point. Toss that in with several nods to the past that ties in viewers young and old, and you have a must see match. I think Cornette has fired Big Dave up a bit ya think?

- I grew up with Cheech and Chong and they did NOT disappoint. OMG they used Diabetes as a way to get High (thats fucking Creative folks...).. I laughed for ever segment and I hope they do come back soon... They were absolutely fun fun fun
- Gail Kim took a bad spill out of the ring
- Maryse has no ass at all. As I talked about in the forums last nite your top Wrestling Divas are: Trish, Sunny, The Beautiful People of TNA, Sherri Martel, Torrie, Kelly Kelly, Eve, and Stacy Keibler.... Maryse comes no where close.
- Miz is kinda busy: US Title, Unified Tag Team Title, and NXT mentoring Daniel Bryan... I actually thought they were gonna lost the titles to DX.

- This s a very hot WM... 5 Major matches, 2 Mid Card but important matches, a Diva match... That clocks WM in at a mere 3.5 - 4 hours tops... Strong Strong WM ... Some stars are simply not gonna get in...

Very impressed with WWE... Oh and that production team that makes the vignettes and videos are just plain AWESOME.. wow

The HBK/Undertaker promo last week & the Batista/Cena one this week show exactly why the WWE is the King and will remain so. Compare to the cartoonish overacting promos by Hogan, Abyss & company on TNA & it's painfully obvious. The Momma's basement dwellers can bitch to high heaven but they know how to put on a high quality production and that's what the casual fan is going to watch.

I think it was sort of implied when Austin handed him the beer at the Hall of Fame ceremony last year.

"I should have took pot for this show"

You don't "take" pot, you smoke it. Just like you don't hear people taking about "taking some beer" ... if you're not a part of the sub-culture don't pretend to be and expose yourself as a dope

Amazing how taking one two letter word out of the sentence completely changes the context, huh?

Try re-reading it.

To the guy who compared Hardy as a draw to Batista, he's not even close.

Hardy sold merchandise, nothing else. For all the critical acclaim it got, his rivalry with Punk and time on top led to the worst Smackdown ratings ever last year and they main evented the lowest drawing Summerslam in years.

Batista, on the other hand, had the biggest money feud in wrestling of this era v HHH, did huge business with Undertaker 3 years ago, and will do the same this year with Cena.

After Cena, Batista has clearly been the biggest draw in wrestling during the past 5 years, then there's a big gap to HHH, Taker, HBK, and then an even bigger gap to the guys like Orton, Edge, Jericho and Hardy, who've never drawn money. Cena v Batista and Taker-HBK will draw a huge buyrate this year, not Edge-Jericho.

Are they doing Orton's storyline from SVR2010?

BTW, Vince Russo called, he wants his wrestling/promo time ratio back.

"Batista "calls Cena the face of the WWE and mocks him for being in commercials and movies."

Uh... wasn't Batista in that "Wrong Side of Town" movie that just came out on DVD LAST WEEK?

Posted By: Captain Wow (Guest)  on March 02, 2010 at 02:12 AM"

Yes, but there's a difference that doesn't make him a hypocrite. There has been 0 advertising as well as 0 mentions on WWE programming of that straight to DVD movie.

I haven't rented it yet, but would assume it's not a WWE Films production, because they even pushed Dibase's DVD movie when he was a heel, and Kennedy's straight to DVD movie (though I don't remember if he was a heel, face, or just hurt when it came out).

Granted Cena's movies hit theaters first, but the trailers for both were ran multiple times during each WWE program & probably started 3-4 weeks prior to the release date & may have even re-appeared during their DVD release. The Marine is a great movie to make fun of & I still haven't spent the $1 to check out 12 Rounds, but I'm sure it will be equally satisfying.

"i don't get how randy orton
is the good guy in all this. he shits on these guys their entire time together and when they say something the audience sympathizes with randy?! in kayfabe terms randy is still the dick and legacy are the seemingly incompetent faces. i guess if they are the heels they will piss me off somehow...but only then will they be heels to me."

Dude thats been driving me insane too! Just like in TNA a while back when Christian was an asshole to A.J. and Tomko for months so when they finally got fed up with him and kicked his ass, he became the face!?!?

The Bret Hart 'injury' will be a swerve, faked to get Vince to challenge Bret to a match. Come WM, Bret will still be 'hurt' and then when the match comes...he'll be 100% and beat the ever loving shit out of Vince until Batista makes the save, who is then attacked by Cena, then its made a 'tag match for the ages'

Sheamus FINALLY returns to take out Triple H? Didn't he only miss one episode?

Pretty good Raw tonight.

That Batista-Cena promo was awesome and gave us the explanation from Batista I was banking on. Really sold the match for me and Batista is way better now that he's an asshole heel.

The match times were ridiculously time but hey, at least it means Swagger and MVP will be at WM, even if it is in the MITB match. Too bad they they turned Ryder into a jobber.

They might want to build up Legacy a bit more and I'm not sure how the WM plans are gonna work out there but Orton stainds poised to break out as a Stone Cold-type badass face. They can't deny the cheers he's now getting and looks like they're playing to that.

The less said about the pillow fight and the stupid high segments with Cheecj and Chong, the better. Anyone else pick up on all the weed humopr with WWE's writing staff lately? they might discipline their performers but apparently someone working for them loves the herb.

The Bret-Vince promo was good too. I wonfer how they'll tie up the loose ends with DX? And did anyone else think Sheamus looked like he was about to cry at the end when he attacked HHH?

That was the worst episode of raw in a very long time, next to no wrestling, sadly the best part was a batista promo, which says a lot about how bad the show was.

Why is Zack Ryder jobbing to MVP in 30 seconds already?

Evidence that Vince reads 411mania.com:

Apart from the Springer show, Raw has been on fire for the past month and a half. All the major angles have been fantastic. I fully expect this years Wrestlemania to be the best in years, and draw a much bigger buyrate than last year. I know there's no celebrity stuff this year, but the build to the top matches has been superb.

"As I talked about in the forums last nite your top Wrestling Divas are: Trish, Sunny, The Beautiful People of TNA, Sherri Martel, Torrie, Kelly Kelly, Eve, and Stacy Keibler.... Maryse comes no where close."

See your eye doctor. Now.

You can tell the difference between raw and smackdown MITB qualifiers. Raw gives their guys less then a minute, on smackdown we get a good 3-way and Shelton vs CM Punk
